Loved it. Set in the old stable block, retaining original features makes for a quirky and attractive venue. The food and drink ordered for our informal family brunch was tasty and generously portioned and we didn't feel rushed and the staff were very friendly. There's plenty of seating outside also, and the bonus of having the lovely gift shops and gallery attached to visit. We went when the weather was nice, so also took a leisurely stroll around the estate gardens in the sunshine and enjoyed the surrounding views. Will visit again

Hard to find but worth looking for.
Large cafe in quaint little courtyard with other cute shops and galleries. We only had a coffee so can’t comment on food although the selection of cakes did look nice.
As others have said the service is quite slow, but staff are friendly and cafe present.

The Mulberry Tree Cafe is part of the old Strelley Hall stables. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. The public use it everyday even though it is off the beaten track because of its reputation for good dining. At times it may pay you to book a table before the day of visiting as booking on the day is before 9.30 am. There are a few gift shops nearby for you to browse in, plus an old style sweet shop, gallery and a teddy bear repair shop. Enjoy the experience you will not be disappointed

Generous tasty fresh salad accompanying our lunches. Good tuna and cheese panini and fish goujons. Nice place to visit with shops. Outdoor and indoor dining. Good and quick service. Lovely location in Strelley village.
S. B.
Lovely cafe set in the old stables with some of the original features. Luckily there was a free table when we arrived so we were able to have a nice coffee and a lovely piece of cake. Staff all friendly and polite.... I would recommend booking as it does get busy
K. S.
Amazing homemade cakes and café full of delicious delights. Service is super fast and staff are super..
We've come back twice for brunch and lunch. Really impressed. Please could we get some more dairy free cakes please?
Marvellous little gem..

We went for breakfast and it was lovely! Lovely staff & food! A few little shops in the court yard to visit after eating 😊
A. M.
Sat outside in the sun, I had the vegetarian platter (ploughman's) and the quiche was one of the nicest that I think I've ever eaten. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Moving Mountains veggie burger.
Had visited a lot since the start of lockdown and it's a favourite of ours.
C. R.
Absolutely fantastic place. Great customer service. Lovely surroundings. What more could you ask for?. I tell you what you could ask for amazing cakes and great food. They also have that.
s. s.
It is a very welcoming cafe the food is excellent and eager staff to assist with everything asked of them such a pleasure to be there and there are quaint little craft shops awell to browse round
S. I.
Always friendly and efficient. Their quiches are the best of all the places we visit and their cappuccinos are certainly in the "top one"...thank you Brian Clough.
The amount of food is always appropriate ..what more can I say...go and try it yourself....
p. w.
Just drinks. Milkshake £4!! For this price it should be in tall glass looking super. Served in small glass made to look better than it tasted. Better off buying a yazoo which tasted exactly the same.

This is an excellent little stop off for anyone out for a walk or bike ride. The food was delicious and hot I really enjoyed it and it was fast service even though it was busy. The outdoor seating on hot summer day is to die for.

This place has fairly nice food but the best part is the way they treat customers my son and his friend (of which were both chirldren) were ordering food and my sons cards contactless wasnt working and were kind and considerate of him only just starting to use his card. Along with this ny son's friend accidentally ordered something and they were helpfull and gave him the full change back. After this experience i would feel confident allowing my son to return here
A. G.
Good food and drink. One of the best scones I've ever had. Dog friendly too! Interesting craft shops to visit as well.
C. N.
Called in for lunch and had a cheese and ham sandwich, it came with salad and was amazing, also the service was exceptional.
N. S.
Grabbed a cake and tea whilst on a circular walk. Currently just doing takeout a serving hatch with limited food and drinks menu. Really nice brownie, well managed queue and social distancing in place. Toilets currently open.
T. N.
Lovely food but 1hr wait. They are very popular but worth waiting for!
C. B.
A lovely setting but the service is slow. We decided to sit outside but were unable to get anyones attention at the service window. Eventually we decided to go inside. The drinks were lovely but the scone was not particularly tasty and the presentation was non existent, a flat, uncut scone plonked on a plate with a tub of cream and a mini jar of jam.
Such a shame because the place has potential to be much more.
w. G.
Very good food and cakes. Lovely sitting out in the beautiful weather or indoors. Fabulous for afternoon tea 🍵😁❤️
L. C.
Great location, nice food, friendly service but a bit pricey for standard salads, ploughmans, chips and such
M. S.
Always a lovely atmosphere. Good service and great food made to order. Arts & crafts shops in the courtyard outbuildings good to browse. Great drop-off if out walking thr many bridleways and footpaths thr area has to offer.
J. C.
Excellent food and drink selection. Very nice cafe in converted stable. Friendly and welcoming staff

Best vegetarian burger I have ever had, someone has clearly thought this one out well. 😀
Y. S. (.
It is located in the grounds of Strelley hall and used to be a stable in the past, it's surrounded by fields and it's close to the stones of the Monk's way.
It's a lovely hidden cafe with amazing lunch food, afternoon tea and a good selection of tea. Nice atmosphere and very kind staff. It is a hidden gem in Strelley Hall.
The cafe is open everyday from 10:00 to 16:00 and Sundays 09:30 to 16:00.
Try the spinach and goat cheese quiche, it's delicious.
It's a 20 minutes walk from 77 bus stop (The Rose).
Drive through Aspley lane to Strelley road and then to the Main street for 0,5 miles. Strelley hall is on the right side of the road.
B. C.
Lovely setting ,nice place to go after lovely walks in surrounding areas, enjoyed coffee with fresh baked scones will definitely be back

I only had coffee and it was very good. The food and cakes looked delicious.
N. E.
First class breakfast in great surroundings, converted stables into a cafe, very friendly and although you have to wait, as everything is cooked fresh, it is well worth a visit. You can walk round Strelley Hall grounds and can pass the time away in the gift shop. Very nice.
B. S.
Great selection of cakes and warm food in a lovely setting.
K. G.
Fab cake!
M. S.
Enjoyed a nice freshly baked scone here and some tea. Staff was very helpful and doing their best in this weird times. Would go again.
D. B.
We cycle to a lot to the local eating places and this rates amongst the top three in the area. The staff at this venue are always professional and friendly. The Quiches are amongst the very best on our travels. The coffee is again up there with the best. The ambience and character of this place is 5star. Keep it quiet but the Mulberry Tree is another gem in Nottingham's crown, but keep that's for your own information, the queues are already getting too long 🚴♀️🚴♂️

Lovely place to go I been there long time ago with my husband

1st time visit. Lots of free parking. Lovely place, food and drinks were lovely. Great customer service. Will be back

Lovely little restaurant, converted stables produce an unusual ambiance and good very good. Little slow service but nothing too irritating. And the craft shops nearby add a little extra to your experience.
H. O.
This is a hidden gem! Great menu and loads of home baked goods on offer. Plenty of room outside in the courtyard if you don't want to be indoors.
J. S.
Good food and friendly service.A bit chilly as we were seated near the door on a cold day.
S. W.
Enjoyable experience, waitress was very helpful and understanding as we had family members arriving later than us but she made sure we were catered for. Food was decent as was the coffee I ordered.
A. C.
We were on our bike ride stopped off for a drink.
Had to que outside,to order our drinks or food them told which table to sit at .but we wanted to sit close to our bikes on a table that was empty just seemed a lot of messing about just for drinks .and sitting outside .but it was lovely

Tables were clean and area around the court yard was lovely thank you

Yummy cakes and a lovely setting in the old Strelley Hall. Always have a lovely time. The ice cream is also excellent.
S. B.
Lovely cafe, food is good. Great walk to build your appetite.
J. L.
Great cafe and pit stop for cyclists. Do a selection of hot and cold drinks and also some lovely cakes. Can take away or sit down but it can be busy on weekends and nice sunny days. You will need a mask to order as of may 2021 still.
P. D.

This place has been a god send during lockdown for its takeaway coffee and cake. Happy to go back now and sit indoors or out for a longer stay. The coffee is always excellent and properly hot.
M. &. S. o. s.
Quickly got a table and had a suitable table as have to have my leg elevated. The food was delicious and superb service from all the friendly staff .
Now can't wait for my next visit!
H. C.
Very good café. Have given great service throughout the lockdown periods, and maintained good service and food quality. Lots of space for outdoor consumption in appealing surroundings: also benefits from not having a busy vehicle-filled access road.
D. T.
Quality food set in a beautiful surrounding of a old horse barn
K. S.
Lovely little tea room. We always enjoy our visits. They have a great menu selection the quiche and deli salad being my favorite. Reasonable priced and the staff are friendly and always happy to help. Wheelchair friendly and dog friendly.

Great place to drive or walk to, nice coffee & cakes, also do savouries. Not quite enough tables to sit at busy times but a few walls to perch on
C.
Great service, food and coffee. Large outdoor area for walkers and dogs 😚 Would be nice to see a few more vegan friendly options
H. W.
Love it here. Would recommend eating here
S. H.
Really nice place. Lovely food. It just took a while to be acknowledged then served.
J. S.
Very interesting venue, old stables beautifully renovated to make an attractive cafe. Dogs allowed in certain area. Two lovely shops in the courtyard. Lots of parking and outside seating.Good menu, lots of choices, excellent quiche.
P. S.
Very popular now its well-known. Food is home-cooked and very moreish. Staff are friendly and efficient and always ready to help. Combine this with the fact that the cafe is within the stable block of the local stately home and contains a number of workshops plus other facilities and it makes a winning combination.
L. B.
This is a fabulous cafe, the food is excellent, all home made and delicious. The prices are so reasonable too which makes it an affordable pleasure.
The surroundings are very appealing - we sat where the horse stalls would have been, so there are small groups of tables in each stall area. The light green paint gives a mellow, cool feel, even on a hot day as today was - scorching!
At the back there are some screens showing the history of Strelley Hall which is interesting.
Really worth coming to. An excellent lunch.
Z. P.
What a lovely place, a hidden gem, had coffee and cake but they have a lovely and wide selection on its menu to choose from: drinks, hot, cold, savoury, sweet, meals, snacks and ice creams, will definently be going back
P. S.
Staff are lovely and friendly and the food is great. The place itself holds a great deal of interest for me as I was brought up at the far end of the village just on the tip of the then council estate. The area has always been beautiful and holds a lot of memories of my Mum and Dad and close family.
C. F.
Next to Strelley Hall the cafe is very nice...part of the old stables is also dog friendly. Lovely choice of breakfast and lunches served from 12pm. Plenty of drinks to choose from. Also an art gallery...2 shops and a teddy repair shop. Highly recommended.
A. A.
Beautiful place for breakfast in beautiful surroundings.
F. B.
Very clean, cosy cafe set in the stables of Strelley Hall. The menu is good and the food is freshly made and very good.
Fresh water always available - just help yourself from the jug.
My deluxe hot chocolate was delicious, followers by a jacket spud with mozzarella and roasted vegetables. Yummy, although could have done with a bit more mozzarella, but it was still good.
Then I had a massive brownie to finish off - very chocolatey and scrummy!
Also, a very good point to note is that dogs are welcome in the two far end stalls! Brilliant!
T. W.
Great little place for a coffe on walk round strelly/cossal. For me they let them selves down on pricing the quality of food/drink there is very decent but the pricing is obscene. I pass it alot and would visit much more if the pricing was more reasonable and I'm sure other people would agree.
A. F.
Lovely setting, nice long walk to get there (parking available if you drive) eat in or there is outdoor seating & take away service available.
P. P.
Nice setting. Lovely cup of coffee.
J. H.
Very nicely set out usual tearoom atmosphere. Thought the portions were mean and expensive! My sandwich contained so much cheese couldn't taste the thin slice of ham buried deep below. The coleslaw was lovely but very small portion. Haven't visited the loo yet so cannot comment on them.
P. C.
Love this place and are frequent visitors. Today however we arrived at 2.31 and were told it was closed. Fair enough but very disappointing. More people then also turned away. However a couple arrived at 2.40 and were served with hot drinks. Why?
R. W.
Fairly popular bit lots of outdoor seating and drinks were good. We used ot as a reward for a walk - so many people do
B. B.
Great place for afternoon tea if you are in a group, as this is an old stables, so you can be in one of the ex stalls (bigger than it sounds). Can bring your dog as well, but check first. Lovely selection of food, including the best quiche I've had.
S. H.
Good choice of reasonably priced food. One of best quiches my wife has eaten. Great ham and cheese panini and fussy grandson enjoyed his smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich. Good choice of drinks and fast service. Staff very friendly and professional. Set in converted stables which are full of character. Loads of parking.
E. H.
Never visited before but will certainly return. Lovely atmosphere in the courtyard and a good menu so had a lovely lunch with friends.
R. B.
Only had coffee but I saw the meals coming from the kitchen and everything looked lovely
C.
Goregous cafe in a beautiful spot, I've eaten a meal here previously and it was tasty. Most recently went for tea and cake, the cakes were superb! Really enjoy going cycling and stopping off here to treat myself! Staff are always friendly and efficient. Also some nice little shops to the side of the cage that are worth a browse! Will be back again!!

Found the mulberry tree cafe in the middle of our country walk from Bramcote Hills it is a beautiful location in strelly Hall grounds and had plenty of outdoor seating as well as tables available inside. I had a pot of tea and a jacket potatoe with vegetable chilli which was absolutely delicious. It came with a lovely side salad and coleslaw and I just wish I'd had enough space left to try one of their beautiful looking cakes. I can see this becoming one of our favourite spots. No pictures as they would have been of a clean plates and empty cups ☕ highly recommend a visit. The cafe is all on one level as are the toilets and they have booths in old stable compartments to book inside as well as tables.
S. R.
Excellent food, lovely friendly staff, great settings in the stables.
d. b.
Really quirky place, excellent food. Coffee delicious served with REAL cream. However, drinks came out quickly then nearly 30 min wait for food. A top of of drinks would have been a nice gesture but alas not forthcoming.
R. S.
Great place to grab a coffee, lunch or a bit of cake before going for a walk in the local area. Lovely food and drink and well organised service.
S. L.
Lovely lunch, good portions and nicely served. Tables well spaced and felt safe.

The Mulberry Tree maintains it's excellent ambience and food. Friendly and efficient service. As cyclists this is a fantastic stop off. It is certainly one of our favourite local places. The journey and destination are equally good. There are also adjacent gift and garden shops. Give it a try...better still have a cycle ride there.
J. B.
What a little gem this is. Set in Strelley Village so you can have a lovely walk before or after lunch. Good coffee and food is absolutely delicious! I had stilton and broccoli quiche, lovely thin pastry, really deep and tasty filling, beautifully cooked. Served with small or large salad and a choice of deli salad (I had Waldorf). Really great, cosy little place with nice atmosphere. Also has the benefit of two excellent little gift shops next door 😊
L. P.
Went here for a lunch, sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed some brilliant food. Highly recommend.
P. M.
Venue great. Tea cake short on fruit
C. B.
Beautiful setting. Cafe is in the stables of the big house. The service was good and the food very good. We booked a table. It is a popular place. Gift shop was also great.
C. H.
Lovely place , great coffee good food, when we went they were really busy and the service was really slow. The drinks came out really quickly but the food was a while after.
One order came about 10 mins before the other,
So just a bit more organization is needed at busy times.
A. S.
Lovely cafe in a beautiful building which gives it a cosy atmosphere. The food is fresh and very tasty. Varied menu and extensive drink selection. Pretty walks nearby and the shop sells a good variety of gifts and knick knacks. Feels like you're in the middle of nowhere but isn't far from the main road.
m. B.
A bit pricy for my liking

D. S.
My friend and I booked for the tour of the Hall and afternoon tea. The present owner conducted the tour which was very informative and interesting- also we were taken into several of the rooms displaying different periods of architecture.
Following this, high tea was served in The Mulberry Tea Rooms, which was a lovely treat of assorted sandwiches, home made cakes and scone/jam/ cream. A perfect end to the afternoon. I would thoroughly recommend this.
J. J.
Had afternoon tea it was lovely. Staff were friendly will be going again
S. E.
Ate inside for first time normally sit outside. Very safe and excellent as always.
M. G.
Pleasant cafe, but not as special as it was.
Because it's noisy it's a tough place to have a natter so, in my opinion, needs to do everything else really well, so keeping me waiting, not acknowledging me of a couple of minutes, at the counter doesn't make for a great start.
Food and coffee fine. Could do with a tiny boost to stay competitive.
E. R.
Nice and cozy place to sit and have a coffee or tea.
J. C.
Could do with a spruce up, to dark interior decorations
A. G.
Nice food, but overpriced
J. C.
As usual, good service and great choice.
Sat outside in the sun to eat.
B. S.
This is a small and friendly cafe with a nice range of food, cakes and drinks. The location within the grounds of Strelley Hall is excellent. I would definitely be visiting Mulberry Tree Cafe again. This is a warm and welcoming establishment.

J. S.
Good food and drink , good service and some nice little shops all in the old stables block
M. P.
Well since my last visit to the Mulberry Tree I can say the coffee has improved dramatically from the previous type which was "blended especially for them", to, a really good blend of Arabica and Brazilian beans. Full of flavour without being bitter, a really Lovely cup of coffee! ( the food is good too) after a few months abstenance I shall be going back. More tables available and a good cycle ride out.
M. D.
Pleasant location very close to Nottingham and junction 26 of the M1 and plentiful car parking. There are some gift shops and a salon at the site too.

Having lived in Nottingham since 1968 I am ashamed to say I did not even know Strelley Hall existed until this year. The owner runs a tour of the Hall several times a year and we booked on the one in July (next one is in September). Tour consisted of a fairly informal talk on the history of the site going back to medieval times and a walk around the Hall ending with an afternoon tea at the Mulberry Tree Cafe included . Those that wanted to could also visit the nearby church at the end of the tour of the hall. The tour itself was very interesting and well presented - the owner is clearly very knowledgable about his subject. Would definitely recommend this if it's your sort of thing. Tour can be booked through the Mulberry Tree Cafe. The cafe itself is located in the old stables building. The cakes are fantastic and the service friendly.
S. m.
Excellent coffee and food. Still open and serving takeaways. Great at the end of a walk.
G. C.
Clean cafe and nice food. The toilet however have been dirty everytime I have been.
G. J.
Country atmosphere and friendly service, great little retreat in a farmyard setting. There is a gift shop and florists right next to the cafe. All quite quaint.
k. j.
Really lovely cafe interior, set in the stables of Strelley Hall. Beautiful selection of cakes and savouries but is slightly over priced in my opinion. fishcakes with a pouched egg was £8.50 (only 1 fishcake)
P. R.
Good atmosphere and good food.
Visited the Mulberry Tree for the first time recently and was very pleasantly surprised and pleased with the food. Will definitely visit again.
