J.Best fillet steak I’ve had. Faultless food. Service was decent. decoration is nice. Came for New Years and was surprisingly not that busy. Worth the money. The cocktail lounge upstairs is also really cool and does very tasty cocktails.
S. K.Unpretentious yet delicious food tucked away opposite the Contemporary Art museum. Friendly attentive service (haven't heard anyone say "cool bananas" in a long time!). Extensive cocktail list. Prices reflect the quality of the establishment and food; not cheap, but worth the spend. There's a 10% cover charge added to the bill by the owners for "Covid recovery", which I removed and added 20% tip to the staff instead - sorry guys but your chefs and staff deserve it, and you'll get my repeat business instead 👍
J. S.Dined here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. We had a Groupon voucher for two courses for two people for £29 and it made the meal amazing value. My main course alone should have been £24.95.
This is an expensive restaurant, although the drinks were not too bad compared to some local bars. The food is of high quality and is beautifully presented. The steaks looked amazing (there was a supplement with the voucher, but it would have been worth paying).
The restaurant is split into three rooms with a slightly different feel. The staff were very smart and friendly. The place was very clean (nice loos!) and had a really nice atmosphere.
I would definitely return and be prepared to pay full price for a special occasion. It is located close to other bars if you’re making a day/night of it.

The manager Jonathan and his team is excellent in service and very friendly! The food is very delicious, freshly prepared, well presented and exquisite in taste! One of The BEST restaurant in Nottingham and definitely our favorite place! Just make sure you make reservations ahead as they can get busy for dinner! You will always leave with a smile on your face and a very “satisfying-gourmet ” experience 😊

C. C.Came here for partners birthday in June. Social distancing in full swing bit precautions were good. We didn't have the best table. We were wedged between the piano and a plastic shield which made it a little uncomfortable.
Service was good. One particular lady was clearly not happy to be on shift that afternoon. Her face said it all. The food though was exceptional. Would recommend for a special occasion.

For what you get both quality and quantity, I thought the price was a little bit high. Its definitely towards the higher end of quality, but the portions seemed very small, not quite got the quality - quantity balance.
The tagine starter didn't have as much flavour as I hoped, but was still pleasant
The lamb however was both lovely AND decently sized, with a lovely sauce to accommodate.
The duck was nice and well presented, but very small amounts of everything on the plate, even for duck.
Dessert menu was sadly limited.

G. I.Having experienced several wonderful meals/ nights at its sister restaurant across town, Petit Paris, we felt it was time to give Paris a visit.
Parking 2 minutes walk away at the Lace Market multi storey giving up to 4 hours for £6.20 meant we could relax, enjoy our meal, and go for a drink afterwards.
The restaurant occupies an old, whitewashed town house building in the lace market sector. Stepping through the door is where you leave old traditional behind and are welcomed with modern clean lines and design that give your senses a workout trying to take in all there is to see, smell and hear.
Walking through the lounge bar area, the first thing that strikes you is the signed Valentino Rossi motorbike in a full glass case won in a charity auction (some auction that must have been!)
Passing the spectacular bar you then reach the restaurant table area being pleasantly greeted before being shown to your table. The atmosphere is busy with friendly chat and an upbeat background music soundtrack to give it a refreshing'place to be' feel. It's given a Parisian street theme with traditional street lamps and illuminated trees bringing the outdoor eating experience indoors.
The service and staff were perfect, balancing polite and personality and were prompt and obliging with requests.
Now for the food... it really was something else.
We both went for pan fried wood pigeon with fresh strawberry and hazel nut salad for starters. This gamey meat always seems a little tough to cut but melts in the mouth, great combination.
Mains chosen were a poached free range chicken with pomme puree, smoked bacon, baby leeks and morel mushroom veloute which got the approval from my partner. I had the honey roasted duck breast with salsify, salted cherries, pomegranate and orange jus... it was delicious. Desserts were a perfectly presented French cheese board and chocolate mousse of which the name escapes me but there was only an empty slate platter and a contented smile from my partner.
Great place to eat for couples, friends catching up and groups. Prices range from £12.95 to £24.95 steaks, lobster etc but if you're anything like my partner and have an eye for a deal, they pop up here from time to time.
We hope to be back in the not too distant future, thoroughly recommend.
J. H.Reservations only. However they managed to get us a table although we were walk ins. 20 minute wait time on fresh beautiful food. We had 2x starters and 2x mains and a side. Plus 3 cocktails and a coffee. Came to around 80 quid. 50 for food. The duck pate starter and the oxtail starter, which was beautiful but the smoothness of the duck pate and the orange jelly was quite exceptional.
Then for mains we had the ricotta gnocchi and the venison loin. Served perfect pink to pink with smooth sweet potato. Blackberrys and sauteed swede. The gnocchi was the best gnocchi Ive ever had. Huge gnocchi peices! And soft and pillow like with ricotta centre. With a bell pepper sauce and asparagus. As a meat lover. Im suprised to say it was better than the venison dish. The venison looked gorgeous and tasted great. But it wasn't mind blowing like the duck pate was for example. But overall good value. Atmosphere wasn't uncomfortable.

A. R.It’s really simple - if you want excellent food, lovely cocktails and wine and super friendly service then go here! The decor and ambience is relaxing and friendly and the perfect place to unwind with friends and family. This is our 4th visit in 6 months and this tine as a party of 7. The service has always been exceptional but a particular shout out today to Jack who was funny, friendly and very attentive.
If you are in Nottingham and want a nice meal in the city centre this place is for you. Would definitely recommend.

The food itself was also delicious & as we always do we both ordered different dishes from each course, so we get to sample each others. Neither of us were disappointed in what we ordered and I can't imagine there's anything on the menu that isn't good. Service was also very good, without being too intrusive. We will definitely visit again and look forward to it.😊

J. J.I visited this afternoon and although I only took tea as I'd not long dined I decided it was a nice place to rest my feet and refresh while waiting for someone.
I was given a welcome that was exceptional and I have to add that it was not exclusive as I noticed that the same standard was maintained for everyone regardless of who they were. In fact in keeping with the French theme, the last time I can remember this level of service was in France. In fact St Tropez on a harbor front cafe. However I can tell you the service was as good but the prices not as eye watering as France.
I was heartened at the really amazing ambience and the thought which has resulted in such tastefully decorative suroundings. I have no doubt that I will return and that is without tasting a bite of food. Yes I have that confidence.
A very kindly gentleman engaged me in conversation who was dining at the next table which was especially nice as he turned out to be the owner. Even though on this occasion I was not dining he instinctively recognized the long term potential value of a first impression.
I was not disappointed he even took the time to show me around and yes they have a grand piano that plays itself.
After settling I left with the impression that I so wished I had when leaving other places but such customer satisfaction does not happen by accident. As an owner or member of staff you have to make it happen, every time. You can, and you should treat every customer as though they were a king or queen. If you do, you have found the formula for success. On this occasion well done and thank you. I look forward to even better next time, especially the food which looked wonderful.

We took my sister and brother-in-law here on Saturday evening, I was hoping I'd picked somewhere nice as this was the first time they'd ever come to stay with us, and it did not disappoint!
The food was excellent, the duck confit was one of the best duck dishes I've had from eating out, the mains were all of a very high standard also, and the presentation of every dish was amazing.
The service was great, really friendly and helpful, and at no point too overbearing or rushed - given we definitely overstayed the time normally allocated during covid due to waiting on an uber. The tables were well spaced apart, and the screens add for extra protection, along with the sanitizer at the door.
But the whole atmosphere and decor of this place adds to the whole experience. I was worried it might be really quiet and posh, don't get me wrong it is that, but from the piano music in the background to all the chatter around, we felt we could have stayed the whole night and just chilled out.
The bar made some great cocktails and mojitos, there's a good selection of wine and beer also.
This place is a must go! I'd definitely recommend it for date nights to anyone as well.

Went to Paris for pre celebrations on 2nd June for my milestone birthday on the 4th June as well as a catch up with ex colleagues (some of us was made redundant).
The staff couldn't do enough especially Jack our main server. There's two Jack's and the other did serve our table and was nice too.
Reason for highly recommending:
1. The food; all 3 courses were amazing and 6 of us all agreed
2. Jack couldn't do enough for us very attentive, didn't make us, well me feel a pain for asking questions or wanting additional items, he was friendly but still professional
3. We were the last table at the end of the night. Even though they wanted to finish up, tidy up the restaurant they didn't object to the numerous pictures I wanted to take. I didn't notice when I walked in, the swing (also didn't notice Valentino Rossi signed bike in a display). I was told why not have a picture on it, again happy to oblige until I was happy with the pictures
4. They made my dessert extra special because it was my birthday;thank you. And I love white chocolate biscuits. They were so yummy and I didn't need to eat them with the panna cotta. I asked for a paper napkin to wrap them up in, they came back with them in a take out box (my hint didn't work, I didn't get any additional biscuits 😉)

Thank you, you were definitely part of my birthday celebrations. And actually your food was more enjoyable than at Worldservice. My final part of my celebrations after celebrating in Manchester was a meal at Harts. The 5 of us came away with an okay experience. If it wasn't because it was my birthday so on a high it would have been disappointing. Although my vegetarian friend definitely was disappointed since their options for vegetarians is extremely poor 1 option on each course, which also covers if you are a vegan. She paid £20 for a plate of celeriac.
Used Groupon this time but I'll definitely be back, so please keep up the high standards.

J. P.Spent our anniversary here - exceeded our expectations massively! The staff greeted us with warm, friendly smiles and we were shown our table immediately. Decor was wonderful - for a moment I thought we were in a blossom tree lined Parisian street! Lighting was also wonderful - perfect. Loved the table lights which doubled as candles, and which you could turn over to a red light to attract the attention of your server. Food was beyond exceptional - fine dining without the fine dining price tag! Our server (I am sorry I have forgotten her name, but she was a lovely Italian young lady) couldn't do enough for us. The Manager was also very friendly and lovely! On the whole, we had the best meal we have had in a long time, and we will definitely be returning!
The ONLY (and I am nit picking here!!) critique would be the music - it would be lovely to have some piano, instrumental music playing to really create an atmosphere. It was a little heavy on the ears for the restaurant side and didn't compliment the beautiful setting, but I appreciate this is very difficult with the bar being right next door. Still....5 stars and if I could have given more I would have.

R. F.If you’d seen the ‘rustic’ interior of the pub that used to occupy the building before you wouldn’t believe it’s the same place. Paris restaurant looks sensational inside, from the simple but classy cocktail bar area to the tree-lined dining room. The food is pretty good too. We visited as a group of four. For starter I had the chicken livers, which were almost pate-like in their softness, and even nicer eaten with one of the wedges of peach that accompanied them. My wife had the scotch egg, which from the bite of it I had was every bit as good.
For mains, both couples had the Chateaubriand steak for two, one served rare, the other blue. The steaks were perfectly cooked and super-tender as a result. The sides (which you have to order separately when having steak) were good too, crunchy green vegetables and the cheesy tang of parmesan fries. Our house wines (one each of red and white) were both nice and didn’t break the bank, though the overall meal was a little expensive. However there are cheaper dishes than the steak which I’m sure are just as good so you could easily bring the price down.
It certainly didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the evening and I’d definitely give Paris a go again.

N. D. W.In terms of getting there, it was pretty straightforward by central Nottingham's testing late afternoon standards, with several small street car parks very close by. On arrival we found Paris Bar and Restaurant itself very attractively presented and decorated, with the bar area as you walk in, and the restaurant seating towards the back.
We'd booked in advance for 5 p.m. Note: only the Christmas Menu was available at that time. We booked for then because we wanted to go at a quieter time and get a table with a bit of space around it. We didn't want one in the top corner near the 'counter' and the main thoroughfare for the waiting staff, and also just about a foot away from the two of the few other people in there. But nonetheless, that's what we got. It is then hugely embarrassing to ask to sit somewhere else in clear earshot of the other couple, so we put up with it regardless. Why they sat us there with so many other options, other than being easier to serve, God only knows. I could understand it if the restaurant had been already full, but it wasn't anywhere near so then.
Other than the above irritation, service was friendly and attentive, if not with a hurry upish undercurrent. Requests for drinks were met swiftly and delivered equally so, despite the restaurant soon filling up not long after we got there. The food was very good and well presented, if not the biggest in portions size (rump steak and fillet of beef). Puddings (pineapple sorbet and Christmas pudding with rum and raisin ice cream) were very tasty, too. Malbec 'large glass' was what I thought an extortionate £8.95 a glass!! I think ordering by the bottle would be more economical.
We were there for about an hour and fifteen minutes in total. I'm not saying we were rushed out, but I don't think slowly passing two or three hours of merrily getting sloshed at your table would have been an option at a place where quick turnover of diners seems the mood of the day- perhaps some clue now to the less than ambient seats we got sat in.
Despite being mightily pis..hacked off by the seating arrangement, the overall dining experience at Paris Bar and Restaurant was a good one. But nonetheless, one star off for it, as where you are put to eat is integral to an enjoyable experience overall.
Would certainly visit the place again in the future.
P. M.We've been going to Petis Paris for over twenty years and nervous about trying their 'other place' but not disappointed. Very different style but the quality of the food is the same and the service just as good. One request would be to stick gluten free Peroni please.
