XXXL wings are huge, recommend the Buffalo and Blue sauce! Very nice
Pit Burger gives you a good range of meats on the menu.
Mac and Cheese is super sticky and tasty.
Always remember to add the extra table sauces to your food.
Service was good, and quick.
I don’t like the hard wooden chairs, but that’s the fashion in a lot of restaurants.

Nice food, good portion sizes, cocktails are a good price and you get your moneys worth. Staff were all great, but it was very cold so we had to eat with coats on, and toilets could deffinelty use some looking after... no toilet seat and over flowing.

Couldn't have faulted our entire visit!! Other than the fact we left feeling sick from full tummies 😂 Arrived on opening and was welcomed by a very kind guy who gave us seats at the top of the seating area, we were tended to thoroughly. Starters and crackling were fantastic, mains were to die for (I don't suggest getting starters, you'll pop! 😂) and altho some drinks were out of stock, I still enjoyed my watermelon cocktail 🥺 the vibe overall was amazing and such a banging playlist 😱 New staff did an amazing job despite the pressures and me being picky, so thanks for that 😄 Thanks overall for a fab time Red's!

It's was ok. When we got there we waited a while to order drinks. They came back and took our food order and offered us drinks again.. even though the first ones hadn't come yet. We saw 2 couples come and go as they had to wait to long before being seen to (and it wasn't that busy either) the food was quite tasty, loved the flavours, Food also came quickly. My partner's ribs was lovely, the brisket was quite dry and not moist, sadly didn't pull apart. And the buffalo wings to start was basically dry cooked wings with a drizzle of sauce which was a little disappointing as we love them saucy. And the crackling is just fatty not much crunch. We LOVE American BBQ, this didn't live up to that. Food could use a little work but mostly they need a little front of house management here... The staff seemed stressed and poorly managed meaning there being disrespected by customers (which was sad to see as they seemed lovely) but direction is needed to support the staff. I couldn't tell if there was a manager there as no one stood out as being helpful to the staff.

Amazing staff, we were served by a new starter Seb who was so helpful and made sure we were always happy. The food was really good and very tasty!!! We will definitely be returning, thank you for a lovely meal.

Booked here really enjoyed the food, was expensive but worth it, we did wait for a long time to get drinks once ordered, however we did not have to wait to long for food after ordering which was nice, the flavours was lovely and I like the sauces on the tables different ones to try. I would recommend trying this if you have not already done so. I will go again.

Me and my partner visited Reds Nottingham on Friday 21st of Jan and we couldn’t have been happier with both the service and food we received. We were seated instantly, staff took our drink and food orders fast, so we weren’t waiting around trying to order (unlike in some places). There was a great selection on the menu. The staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and attentive. The food arrived fast and was delicious. The portion size and quality were excellent value for money. We left satisfied, with full stomachs. In short Reds Nottingham is a must! We can’t wait to visit again!!

Great food, reminds me of my trips to America 😁... Love it
I must say though, the burnt ends are not good anymore, only thing I was not impressed with. But overall, great place
A. C.
It was great, loved the taste of the food and service was great. The beef long rib is my favourite and the deep fried apple pie is so good. I don't like apple pies but the thought of this just made me want to try it and it was so good.
The beef long rib was a very big portion and still soft inside. Only thing is he flavour was not fully there so you kind of have to dip it once you're past the bbq sauce on the outside.
Service was great, it was busy but they managed to get us a table no wait.
B. L.
Firstly, the staff were friendly and welcoming. During my visit here I met various staff all of whom were so nice!
Secondly, even though the venue was busy our wait time was short and the service was both quick and friendly.
Thirdly, all staff looked attentive and Reay to work! That's always a winner.
Fourthly, the food was impeccable and exceeded expectations (my expectations were high).
Please if you want some lovely food, a good atmosphere and lively staff, both front of house and vacant of house.....come to Red's!!!!!!

Pray at the altar of meat!!!
What can I say, the ultimate meat lovers paradise
Had the dustbin lid on this occasion, everything was perfectly cooked, tasty and filling
Previous occasions have had different meals and they never fail to impress
Well worth the money and definitely worth a visit, you can't go wrong

This is a great place. Very quirky instead. The toilet are shared toilets. Loved the decoration. The staff seemed friendly. The food was gorgeous. We didn't wait long for it. It was full of flavour. Only downside to it. 3 of us went. Even tho we spent £75 on 1 meal and 1 drink each we all came away still hungry. For what we paid I was expecting alot more food. This place was recommended to us. Even though the flavours of the food was gorgeous. We wont be going back there. I love to feel full when I have paid £18 for a meal. We could of easily gone and ate another meal.

Went for dinner on a Saturday evening. The food was amazing, we shared a "Bin Lid Feast" and there was definitely plenty of food. It was cooked perfectly. The staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I cannot recommend this place enough! Just book!!

Having visited Reds a few times at different locations over the years I know what it is capable of. This time unfortunately was disappointing.
The food was dull, dry and over cooked. I ordered the pit tray. The pork belly was over cooked and chewy, the pulled pork was dry and the coleslaw didn't have any dressing so essentially just shredded cabbage and carrot, didn't even taste good - disappointing for a speciality smokehouse.
My girlfriends dirty chicken burger however was nice.
The service was good and the staff were friendly.
Also, what's with the music? It's awful. Considering it's a bit of alternative joint with an American vibe, where's the rock n roll? It was all pop/club music, too loud and Totally the wrong atmosphere.
Come Reds Nottingham, you can do better!
K. H.
Have eaten here a few times. This is my first post covid and to be honest probably my last.
There was no service, meals arrived before our drinks and the quality has definitely gone down. My partner loved the brisket. My pork was partly inedible and the chicken wings underwhelming.
I will say the lady running the shift was very nice and gave me the allergens menu.
B. L.
I visited Red's on a work event and I was completely blown away. Without a doubt the BEST burger I have ever eaten, the menu choice was fantastic, and the staff were amazing, so friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back.
D.
The food here is amazing!! Everyone was very friendly too.
L. P.
Had a great experience here this week. Good variety of food, great staff also.
L. W.
So disappointed that beef long is no longer on their menu.
This has been my favourite restaurant in Notts until they recently changed their menu again. Lots of choices are gone and increased the food price by making you order the meat and sides separately
————————
Update:
The meat quality is good as always, but still, beef long I miss you😭😭😭
R. W.
We went for lunch yesterday and it was fantastic from the first minute we walked in.
One of our masks had broken on arrival to the restaurant and the barman gave us one a new one from his own personal supply.
Good speedy service and amazing tasty food, staff were all very friendly and we loved every minute of it. Can’t wait to go back.
We had the bbq feast for 2 and there was enough food for 3-4 hungry people 😋.
L. P.
So glad the beef rib is back. Don't take it away from me again please.
C. D.
Stunning quality US pit BBQ joint with all the favourites but a much better grade of beer than most. Set in a large, spacious location with a relaxed and warm vibe, friendly and helpful staff, right in the centre of town. Solid choice of starters, mains and sides, kid friendly too. I have to recommend the Beef Long Rib, absolutely stunning. Highly recommended.
d. p.
Tasty food. Good social distancing from staff. Tables well separated. We enjoyed our food thoroughly-as always well prepped, presented and tasty. Had dustbin lid between 4 and we pretty much cleared it. Brisket was the best part: huge chunks of melt in mouth beef.
The Judas 'hot' sauce wasn't as hot as I remember. More of a 'mild' sauce IMO ;)
Great work guys. Will deffo be back soon.
D. O.
Tye services from the staff was fantastic, very quick to serve drinks and food. Portions were on the small side and tye ribs were slightly over cooked but still enjoyed it.
H. L.
Nice atmosphere, as in I mean that the design and style of the place is quite unique and cool. The staff was alright, they weren't bad, but at the same time they didnt go out of there way to be very good If you know what I mean, but that's understandable. The meat her is very good, and it's actually not an understatement that the meat here is one of the best I've ever had. The only problem I had with it was that my pork belly; for some reason the fat on it was extremely salty. But the actual meat was fine, but that's OK for me because I don't really like the fat on meat most of the time. The sauces here are another thing to look out for, they are very good.
M.
Meat lover? Look no further! Lovely atmosphere and plenty of space. Should be easy to find a table at this restuarant given how large it is. The food is very tasty and the Ale I drank was nice too. The portions are fine and they sauces at the table go perfectly with the meat (as you would expect). The meat comes off the bone easily and its cooked well but not overcooked. The only downside is that there was no pork belly left when I went last time. These things happen but its something I wanted to order, maybe next time! I still recommend this restaurant to anyone reading this.
T. F.
4 of us dined here. All has Great food orders . Staff were amazing ,on the ball and polite.
w. m.
Very nice food :) love the whole image of the place to be honest. reasonable price too

Our third visit to a Red's True Barbecue, but the first time on Nottingham. We went for a weekday lunch and boy was it quiet. I also think being the only and first people in on the day may have adversely affected the food as the brisket was dry and wasn't in the other restaurants we've been to. The pulled pork and burnt ends were both good though and the portions were typically huge. Love the taste but it loses a lot if atmosphere when its quiet.
P. J.
We spotted Red's True Barbecue while visiting Nottingham and had to give it a try. We were not disappointed and can highly recommend a visit, especially for meat lovers and those after an authentic American barbeque style. When you sit at a table that has half a dozen different barbeque sauces lined up, you know you're in for a treat. The neon signs and industrial vibe are great touch.

Wow, been waiting for at least a year to go to this place, it's always queuing out the door on a Saturday night and they've only recently started taking reservations but tonight we walked in and only had to wait ten minutes for a table.
Started on the beer at the bar, tax evasion is a good starting point light citrus beer. There's a ton of crafts to pick, canned bottled and on tap.
We were seated by a really helpful hostess who went through the menu with us and made a couple of recommendations.
The food arrived really quick, especially considering how much of it there was. Went with the pig tray, ribs, pulled pork, sausage ahhh can't even tell you how good it all was. We had loaded fries and also the wings as per the recommendation. The wings weren't as I expected, but still good, the flavour is immense.
Drinks were OK, I had the zombie as it said it was limited to two per customer, I was expecting something special but to be honest, it was weak. The boozy milkshake however, that was amazing.
Full marks for reds, the South Carolina mustard bbq sauce was out of this world.
Can't wait to go back for my next bbq fix.
L. B.
Wow this place smells amazing as you walk in!
Food was great, we both had burgers - chicken burger and a donut burger, they were both lovely :)
All the meats are flamed grilled (and so are the vegan meats, if you're wanting that!), so it's all extra tasty.
We went in early afternoon, but I would suggest booking for anything later on as I'm sure it gets very busy!
K. E.
We decided to here because the Google reviews looked good and so did the photos. Plus, I love burgers. I had the donut burger with fries and frickles. It was delicious!
N. N.
Absolutely amazing authentic American style BBQ! I'm sure they have BBQ wizards in the kitchen! Service was excellent and students get 20% off.
Definitely going back for the ribs and burgers.
A.
We had a fab meal. Service was really quick and liked the atmosphere. We'd tried to go before but couldn't get a table so we had booked first this time. Quite a good drinks menu and lots of options. We had a "bin lid" I enjoyed the beans and salad, great sides and then lots of meat with several sauces to try. Would definitely go again.
S. M.
Rustic authentic American bbq smoke house. Metal/industrial style interior with querky touches everywhere. Plenty of seating, polite staff and reasonably suitable in the day time for children too. Well worth a visit if American style is your thing as the food is to a very high standard.
S. P.
Great experience. Loved their meat platter. Went for the 3 piece meat and 2 sides. The Angus Beef brisket was amazing and worth the £3 surcharge. The Mac & Cheese ball add on was great as well.
The service was great. Restaurant was quiet but was greeted with with a friendly smile from the waitress and throughout my time there. She even checked on how I was enjoying my food - no bad Monday evening blues from her; compliments to Tia 👍🏻
J. K.
The food looks amazing but... The meats in my burger were especially dry - to the point I couldn't finish it even though I was hungry. The milkshake tasted good! But it was only slightly cool and was very thin, as opposed to an expected cold and thick milkshake. Overall, the place had great ambience and atmosphere, but the food left much to be desired.

Spare of the moment visit and managed to get the last table for 2 at lunchtime. My son was new to Reds so I helped him pick out what I thought he would like from the kids menu. He liked it all starting with the garlic bread, hot dog as main and the ice cream dessert.
I had the brisket with fries and BBQ beans and that alone I was completely stuffed.
This was my second visit and was lovely and would not hesitate to go again.
Service was quick also with most dishes cooking for hours which is best.
a. m.
This place is always a hit. Food was amazing the music play list was banger after banger wait stress friendly and help. The management also went out of their way to recommend things on the menu and was very helpful.

Tasty food. A bit expensive for what it was. Cold in the restaurant.

Wonderful food and great service!!
Especially loved the Pig Candy!!

Excellent customer service and the best burger I have ever had

Staff were lovely, would have expected a little more sausage than two tiny pieces on the 'Pit Tray', however food was very tasty, and reasonable value for money. We were stuffed afterwards😀 For those on a budget, be aware of the 10% service charge added on the bill. Would go again.

Mmmmm. So good!

Fantastic food, decent value for money. The only two downsides were: 1 - A couple were having a very loud domestic quite close to our table. 2 - The staff didn't check back as often as they could have, a few of our group were left without drinks for a while and it took a good 20 minutes just to bring the card machine over when we asked for it.
A.
Awesome food, why in the world don't they expand the franchise to London and other places?
L. T.
This is now the 4th Red's I have been to and it was a shame I was not that hungry. Had the Donut Burger this time and it was very different; but very nice.
Nice layout of the restaurant with places to tuck away in and chill out with fantastic food. All the staff are very nice and friendly too.
The main toilets are upstairs and well designed, clean and had a fun twist, don't worry the curtains can't be opened.
As always enjoy eating at Red's and if you are a lover of meat, this place is well worth the pilgrimage.
J. K.
An addictive, authentic smoke house experience. Local meat lovers declare it top of their list. Great cocktails, including BEER cocktails, and amazing desserts. Funky atmosphere great for work nights out, dates, and hang outs with friends. Try the Pitmaster's tray!
T. M.
Visited Reds True BBQ today was told they wasn't doing burgers due to kitchen fault so ordered something else just to find the table opposite me ordered a burger so was highly disappointed in that, also me and my partner ordered the same meal and when it came out one of the items was missing so we had to wait for them to make another one, but got to say the deserts was perfect 👍🏻
j.
Waited about 20 mins for a table on a Saturday, which was totally worth it once we were seated. The Mac and Cheese ball starter was very cheesy and so tasty! The doughnut burger was one of the best burgers I've tasted, my mouth is still watering! Great service, great good and a great price!
A. M.
The cheeseburger was delicious. A special mention goes to the staff, especially Rose, she was an amazing host.
D. C.
Lovely decor and music to set the scene for some great food. If you love meat then you need to visit Red"s. I can recommend the Pitmasters Tray, the brisket was melt in the mouth. My only complaint was there could have been a bit more food on the plate.
s. n.
Meat lovers heaven, there is veggie option too.. definitely recommend. Love the ambiance and it matches with the food,Quick service and friendly staff.
Smoked Salmon was brill!!.. enjoyed it.
Y. H.
Been here a few times now and the food has never really impressed. All the meats I've tried (excluding the buffalo chicken burger) have been dry and overcooked. Also fairly expensive prices if you're not going for the lunch menu.
B. E.
Like bbq? Then you'll love Red's.
Massive choice of delicious smoked bbq meats including pulled pork, burnt ends, brisket etc.
Huge portions, the sharing tray for two would feed a family of four.
Excellent and friendly staff, really welcoming.
Nice interior, kind of industrial but still warm and inviting.
Well worth a visit if you need a bbq food fix.
K. C.
We had a Christmas party here, and had a great time. With 2 for 1 cocktails available and an out of the way table for functions, we were able to have a merry old Christmas time with plenty of joy and noise. Have the brisket, you won't be disappointed.
S. H.
Disappointed, no dark or real ales , no salad ,no sloppy Joes , crackling in a 25 ltr bucket under the counter , but can not fault the main meat dishes
H. W.
Good food in an amazing setting. (Toilets are especially cool). 40% off Sunday - Thursday during summer which meant our meal was exceptionally good value. Great selection of food and drinks.
c.
As good as any BBQ I've had in USA! Delicious! Excellent menu selection and great service, and the range of BBQ sauce is superb. A real taste of down home US BBQ in the heart of Nottingham! Oh, and the cocktails are delicious too!
D.
Food was notging special for the price and was not particularly hot when it arrived at the table either. Half of the lighting is off leaving you squinting at a small printed menu. The only amusing part of the meal was watching the couple on the table in the widow being sprayed with table cleaner from the staff member on the next level. I had considered giving the place another try but there was not much on the menu that sounded amazing and if you want value and quality for your money then you're better off at somewhere like Annie's. On a positive note, Staff were good
N. W.
My first time visiting. Wow I wasn't disappointed, Joe served me and my wife. I had the juicy lucifer and my wife had the pit burger. Both we're absolutely gorgeous. Service was fantastic keep it up Joe. Would recommend a visit because we will definitely be making a returning visit. 😋😋
M. H.
One of the nicest places I've been too in Nottingham, the staff couldn't be more friendly, the food is exactly what you'd expect, really good atmosphere, there care and attention to detail is outstanding, but most of all the amount of care they took to make sure me and my son had a good time was above and beyond, couldn't rate this place any better.
r. a.
Great service and super clean, they had nice distance between the tables that were getting used and also had barriers between some table so social distancing could be kept.
B. H.
Love the food here. I've been to reds in Manchester too, both amazing places. I had the pit tray which had ribs, jalapeños sausage, pulled pork and brisket on. The brisket was the best I've ever had.
R. D.
We booked in advance a couple of weeks ago for a treat for my daughters first day at Nottingham Trent. We shared the buffalo chicken wings as a starter . These were quite dry and had little meat on them. For main courses my daughter had a fillet steak. It was slightly burnt cooked but fresh tasty and well received. I had smoked chicken, which was very dry and tasteless. As a side I had a cheese and jalapeño sausage which was the star of the show! The staff were friendly -thank you. The interior design is as inauthentic as could be imagined. Overall we enjoyed our visit .
A. M.
We went as a couple for a birthday meal. We booked for 8pm and got there in plenty of time. We were sat down at our table at 8.30pm after quite a few people who had come in after us had been given a table.
We were asked to wait at the bar and decided to get a drink while we waited. Service on the bar was good. Happy and pleasant staff.
When we were shown to our table the guy let us know what wasn't available (mac & cheese off 😩). He gave us our menus and left us with a smile whilst we decided what we wanted to eat.
The waitress came and took our order. We both had the pit master tray. It came fairly quickly which is expected at a bbq place given the majority of food is slow cooked for hours before.
The pulled pork was very nice with the kansas bbq sauce. The jalapeño sausage was nice by itself. Unfortunately the beef brisket had been drastically over cooked which had made it extremely dry and chewy, with very little flavour. The ribs were nice, quite fatty but it's kind of expected with a good rack of ribs.
All in all, it was a good meal out. Its not the best bbq place we've ever been to, but it's ok for the bbq fix. If you were lucky enough to have experienced Ribs & Bibs in Lincoln before it closed, you will know that's the kind of standard any bbq place should aim for.
There's another bbq place in Nottingham but I haven't been there, so I can't give you an opinion which is better.
m. m.
Love the food at red's true BBQ, a little on pricey side but it's worth it.
K. H.
Amazing food, fairly quick service, great atmosphere. Amazing smell of BBQ throughout the restaurant. Go for the bin lid sharer
J. C.
Popped into Red's for dinner one night with some friends.
Great atmosphere. Ridiculously tasty food.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
Good price for what you get as large portions. Great cocktails!
O. G.
Good food and service, however we were rushed out within 45 minutes despite having reserved a table for an hour and a half being told they had large party to seat very shortly and that they needed our table. Never received a bill so quickly, would've been nice to stay and comfortably finish our drinks without feeling like we were being waited on to leave..
J. J.
As someone from Kansas who grew up eating Kansas City BBQ I have to say in thoroughly impressed by this place. Easily the best BBQ place I've experienced in the UK. Go for the platter to get the all around experience. The brisket was outstanding. Absolute great place if you want good actual American style BBQ not just some gimmick.
M. M.
Great atmosphere here
Food is always amazing, very tasty and very good quality and value for money
C. C.
Had a amazing time with my friend, staff were lovely and friendly, the food was beautiful but the burger could have been a little bigger for the price. Will definitely be coming back though!
S. D.
Absolutely AMAZING FOOD! staff are very welcoming and helpful. My baby had fell asleep and I was putting her in her pram, and the chef offered to keep an eye on her while he worked. Bless him. I will certainly be back. 10 out of 10!
M. K.
Really great service, the food was really good and the atmosphere of the place is really cool too. Thanks you
M. J.
The best BBQ place in Nottingham by far, they have a really good selection of foods at reasonable prices and really friendly service.
The kitchen is visible in the centre of the restaurant so you can watch them cook the food and it smells amazing. Make sure you try the burnt ends as they're one of the nicest things on the menu :)
A.
Awesome food, why in the world don't they expand the franchise to London and other places?
P. C.
Poor service and the meat was way too dry. Second time in a row that this happened. Quite disappointed to see this as I loved the place in the past
C. H.
Food was amazing. Great service and very happy staff. Didn't have to wait long. Lovely deco.
It was our first time eating there but will defo be back
M. B.
Wonderful food and great service!!
Especially loved the Pig Candy!!
A. T.
We visited here for a friend's 40th. The food was good, tasty and plentiful, but not especially amazing and of average expense. We're all greedy but didn't finish everything. I'm glad we went, but I wouldn't rush back or visit again over trying somewhere new. Or visiting Annie's Burger Shack...
P. H.
Great barbecue meats! Unfortunately they have simplified the menu recently and the Bucket of Bones (ribs) is gone. Also they dont take bookings so you might have to wait a long time for a table.
A. C.
The first time I have been here have heard great things about it and it did not disappoint. From first walking in the door and having the great smell of bbq meat to greet you I know I was going to love it. The portions are very generous and can honestly say I do not know which meat I preferred they were all excellent, to have pulled pork as a side dish madness. I am definitely going back here again again and again loved it, thanks to all the staff for making it a great memory
C. K.
Wonderful food. Fantastic staff. Great atmosphere

Mmmmm. So good!

Table was booked for 5:45pm and we arrived 10 minutes early. We were greeted by a charming waiter who immediately took us to our designated table. He asked if we would like a drink and we asked for water. Came back with the water and left us to peruse the menu. Waiter came back and asked if we were ready to order and we promptly did. Well I had the double pit burger and the wife had a cheese and bacon burger. Had a side of pork scratchings. OMG the food was absolutely delicious - the scratchings were perfect and there was too many so we asked for a doggy bag. After the mains had gone down we opted for dessert - settled for the chocolate brownie with ice-cream again OMG amazing - would happily recommend and will be returning in the not so distant future - only one slight niggle the amount of smoke from the BBQ was starting to get to the back of our throats Loved the experience 😀 😉
C. U.
Meeeeeeaaaaaaaaaatttt. Delicious food straight off the BBQ, they also do veggie and vegan options although any non meat eater dining there would have to be happy with being around a ton of dead flesh. The burnt ends and brisket are divine. I'd definitely recommend the dining 'platter' (it's a dustbin lid) as you get a range of stuff on there.
J. W.
Expensive but delicious. Lovely BBQ and smoked meats. Yum
24/3/22
Had a pre show meal. Food was delicious as usual. Service was prompt. Portions seemed slightly more generous. Brisket and burnt ends were so tasty
C. L.
Recently visited for a second time with my husband and we enjoyed every minute of it! Food was just superb and the service was excellent. Can’t wait to come back 🤩
C. S.
We went as a group of four.
Throughout our visit we had prompt, friendly service.
The meals all arrived together and were enjoyed by everyone 😊
The two who had a dessert said how nice it was.
As we left the place was really getting busy.
I think that says it all.
👍
J. P.
Brisket and burnt ends is superb, great craft beers to wash it down
D. F.
Absolute star of a place. The brisket is explode in your mouth juicy with its buttery flavour and smoky taste. The service is top notch. A fantastic place to eat and leave feeling warm and full. 100% worth it.
D. D.
Great food great prices and friendly staff. Was not too busy and was nice and relaxing
M. G.
Excellent customer service and the best burger I have ever had
B. B.
I've been going here for approx 7 years, but unfortunately the food was unseasoned and bland without the BBQ sauce, the menu was reduced and much much more expensive.
The staff were clearly bored.
It's a shame that the management is letting it slip, it was much better in the pandemic than after.
r. c.
Omg to die for food staff friendly and helpful atmosphere was brilliant will definitely be going again
T. E. E.
Good venue , helpful friendly staff and amazing food , every mouthfull of the brisket and burnt ends was a pleasure , found the portion size a little small for the price however I guess it reflects the time and effort put in and quality of products used .......damn the brisket was good 👌
L. K.
Absolutely beautiful food I asked for salad instead of fries as I don't like them and they brought me a beautiful salad over the staff are amazingly helpful ...oh and the beef brisket and burnt ends was amazing I wanted more but my waist line said nope hahaha .we will definitely be back in the future with the family nxt time
M. E.
Really enjoyed our meal, had the bin lid and got to try all the wonderful meats. Only negative was that they were out of kansas sauce, the nicest of their sauces in my opinion.
S. L.
Really good service, especially from Zeb. came here for my anniversary with my partner. I would definitely recommend.
A. M.
Adam and team smashed it again. Compliments to the chef, we ordered the same thing as the last time, but couldn't manage the amount of food and had resort to a doggy bag. 😆 🤣 We first came in for MY birthday in May and Adam remembered us, and told us what we had to eat, Now that's impressive...
m. s.
Great value. Great taste. Huge portins. Give the beer a miss there. Poor . but by God a great meat eaters paradise.
J. T.
Was a five star but since being bought out, the choice has been reduced massively, my fav pit master tray is gone and not but the bin lid comes even close. The food is nice though even if theres little choice on the menu
C. Y. (.
What can I say about Red's, the food is amazing, the staff are very friendly and attentive, it's very well priced. We were seated quickly considering it was a Saturday afternoon, will definitely be returning here in the future
M. W.
Best meal we have had in a long time. Thank you.
The Walkers
C. K.
Amazing staff, really friendly, polite and most importantly helpful. 10/10 would recommend.
M. B.
Ok so we’ve been here before but this time was a little different.
I came in with a group of my dearest friend's.
We were out in a room that was a little dull if I’m honest, a window that looked into and up to the rough people of Nottingham waiting for there busses.
The food we ordered was ok, the meat was tender the presentation was ok.
The server could of been more switched on but hey it’s serving tin plates of food - you don’t need a bachelors for that.
I ordered a fillet steak a new item I see on the massive menu.
I asked for it blue….. it came out rare at the most.
Obviously I complained I mean I’m paying £30 for a steak in a budget steakhouse smokehouse, so obviously it was sent back within five minutes it was sent back to me and I was told that it was blue to which I explained and eating many steaks in many establishments and I knew my steak. With that allow me to finish before you judge my comment a Guy came from the kitchen I assume from the kitchen, and claimed he was the head chef, at first me and my party were taken back by the guy. But he surprised all of us by standing up for his food and I like that I like a brazen man with balls. Explained to me that legally steak needed to be cooked up to up to 75° due to food safety issues or something along those lines , I fluttered my eyelids at him And And explained I liked my steak raw.
With that and without any hesitation he listened to my every need and returned quickly with a steak that was everything And more. I can honestly say I have never had a steak cooked so perfectly.perfectly seasoned perfect seared.
The way that he dealt with my complaint was fantastic and I praise him for this. We left happy full and content whoever this head chef is or whoever he was he is a fantastic guy. I would describe the guy as being early 30s with a fantastic godlike beard and not so great tattoos hey we can’t all be perfect. Anyway to end this with you I would just like to say the new menu is fantastic and we will definitely be returning again. Marty

Mixed feelings about Reds. Been to the one in Manchester before and the food here is just as good as I remember! The mac n cheese balls.... I'd go again now just for a plate of those! they have adapted to the covid situation really well. The waitress that looked after us was lovely as well so would recommend for that.
However
The XXXL chicken wings were VERY dry so order with something wet like 'slaw.
and I wasn't impressed that they added 10% service charge on to the bill automatically for a table of 4. When did that become an acceptable thing? With a big party I get it as its hard to get everyone to contribute a tip in a large group. But if you're adding it to every bill, why not just increase the prices and pay the staff 10% more? At least its more transparent to the customers what they're paying then. As some one that usually tips anyway when the staff waiters are great like this one, I find it insulting when its added on automatically.
R. A.
Delicious! We had the dustbin lid sharer and it was a meaty taste sensation!
T. C.
Had a bin lid, soooo much food! Most of it was good, the beans and ribs were delish, chicken a little dry and the red wine could have been better.... still worth a visit 😊
A. R.
No where near as good as it used to be .. the meal size and quality have gone down .. double pit burger in the pic nearly £20 .Don't that tray look a little empty
G. J.
The donut burger was recommended by a friend, not a recommendation I will be passing on, the mixture doesn't work, the rest of the food was okay and reasonably priced
L. L.
Great food. Sadly was missing a lot on the menu when we went.
D. F.
Had a dustbin lid for 5 people, wasn't cheap but for £20 per person it was generous portions and tasty food. The staff were positive and helpful towards our group.
L. J.
Excellent service and food yet again...we live in Lancaster and quite happily travel to Nottingham to eat here.
O. S.
Nice food, reasonably priced, just would like a little bit more
A. B.
I came here 4 years ago when I first moved to Nottingham and I came back on Sunday it was EVEN BETTER the brisket was absolutely amazing tasted beautiful and the burnt ends just melted in your mouth I’ve already booked to come next week and I’ve heard they’re taking Christmas bookings as well so my family and I ours going to book that as well
A. F.
Had a trip to Nottingham and we went there all 3 days! Despite plans to go elsewhere, we just absolutely loved the atmosphere and the food! Credit to Will, he reminded me of myself in a restaurant. Real chatty dude and always going above and beyond. 11/10
L. A.
Really great experience, the food was greatly cooked with a large portions, I'll definitely be coming back in the future. I gave a four star however due to one of the staff, however other than this I would love to return.
C. P.
Always incredible, great meats, great drinks, great staff. Would recommend to anyone who likes their meat.
C. M.
Loved the food, prices for us wee bit steep. We read it wrong. Was 21 pp other than that food second to none
E. P.
Tasty food. A bit expensive for what it was. Cold in the restaurant.
S. P.
Been here so many times. Why is that? Simply this: it's the best smokehouse and barbeque in Nottingham. If you ain't been, what are you waiting for?
G. H.
Never a bad meal at Reds. The Nottingham restaurant thought was quite smokey insight compared to others I've been to.
Good food though
B.
Recently visited and had the 'bin lid" absolutely Incredible food!
A. I.
Beautiful nice place for a great date, family or with a friend 😀
N. W.
I'm from Texas and This place was like being back home! This is my new happy place, especially when im feeling home sick... PLEASE OPEN ONE IN LEICESTER!!!!!!
D. H.
Very happy to have Reds back open again in Nottingham. I excitedley booked a table for Saturday just gone. Sat down like at the menu and was reasonably happy. One thing that did annoy me a little is the lack of burnt ends, either and an extra or part of a meal. please bring them back
D. A.
Friendly service fantastic menu
C. C.
Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere. I just love it here.
M. W.
great meal for my friends birthday, staff were all lovely. cool waitress with smiley necklace was super nice and attentive! :-)
K. B.
Delicious food, great service and really nice intimate atmosphere. I had the brisket and burnt ends and have never, ever tasted nicer brisket
A. C.
Great selection of barbecued meat, and great drinks menu to boot. The Tax Avoidance pils was great.
M. C.
As usual the heavenly taste of the pit burger does not disappoint
P. F.
Amazing food! Amazing atmosphere and music! Will definitely be back!
S. M.
Came all the way from London to eat here for my birthday as it's my favourite and they shut down the London branch. So so good!
R. N.
Amazing food deffo try the brisket great quality for the price
P. F.
Went on Friday night. Both the service and the food were absolutely exceptional. I would recommend this place to anyone - We'll definitely be going again.
S. S.
I'd go there again and again for their really tender brisket... They manage to char the burger so much that it tastes bitter on the outside which is the only reason to shoot a star...
p. s.
Always a family favourite. Nice meal in trendy surroundings with excellent playlist. Beer good
C. H.
Fantastic food, the tastiest chicken we have ever had. Go for the bin lid!
T. B.
Absolutely Amazing, blows 5 Guys out of the water. I had the Triple Burger with Glazed Doughnuts instead of a Bun, and it was Biblical. Well worth the Pilgrimage!
K. W.
Best brisket I've had 11/10
F.
Best bbq joint in Nottingham, very authentic USA! The long beef is amazing, melt in your mouth with a lovely crust!
D. G.
These ribs are everything! Great place to visit with friends for a pint and bbq.
J. G.
Came on Friday night with the family just as a night out. Really enjoyed it brisket was very moist and tasteful, burnt ends very tender loved every moment of it
M. J.
Good food, good service, good value. We had a show to go to and were served really quickly.
S. P.
We dropped in without any preconceptions because it was our first trip to Nottingham, and we were blown away. The decor was industrial and huge fun and the food choices were great. They messed up a little by bringing our starter out with our main, but we didn't mind as it was all so fabulous. The food was delicious, and the service was quick. Definitely worth returning.
S. L.
Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Food was lush, so much that we had to take home. Only downfall was cocktails was watered down
N. M.
The food is rediculous in a truly great way. Highly recommend it, even if the menu has been trimmed down.
S. H.
Food and service excellent. Will visit again.
S. M.
Really nice & tasty food at a reasonable price. Only thing is the server didn't ask how my daughter wanted her burger cooked & it was served very rare. When I advised our server & she looked put out. My daughter finally got her burger but by that time she had lost her appetite! Customer service could do with a bit of work on.
J.
Always love coming here... the food is outstanding everytime!!
K. B.
Restaurant decor and atmosphere was very authentic and looked very clean, with an open kitchen, which is always a bonus. 5 sauces to chose from too. I had baby back ribs, chicken, fries and corn bread. Ribs were amazing, succulent, tender and tasted great. Chicken was good, very moist, but a little lacking on flavour I have had from other joints. Fries were great, but the corn bread was dry. Price..actually ok for the price of meat on the market. Got given a “51% off food when you book a table card”...wish I would have known that, as I would have obviously booked a table! May have given it 5*, but I reserve that for truly excellent places...but I’m no professional now! Definitely recommend all the same!
S. T. R. N.
I really enjoyed this. The decor inside is nothing short of fantastic- it's like being on a New York theatre set. It's just incredible. You have to see it!! The food of course was very tasty too - I've knocked one star off because I got 3 pieces of 'burnt ends' and although pretty tasty (tough chunks of meat, oxtaily flavour) I only got 3 chunks and it felt a wee bit on the tight side. Especially when the next table ordered smoky stack burgers and they needed a forklift truck to put them on their table.
D. B.
First impressions were good. The restaurant was buzzing and we was warmly welcomed in. The waitress who served us was helpful. The cocktails were decent. My meal was excellent. My brisket was divine. I felt as if I went to food heaven. A couple of mistakes were made on the order but was quickly rectified. Would definitely come again if in the area.
T. D.
Food was good. Portion average. Service was friendly but lacked a little product knowledge. Menu was confusing, a single sheet of paper various dishes lacking description. No idea what all the different types of burgers were as no description on the menu. Also has one of those gimmicky whiteboards with details of what’s being smoked that you can’t read from your table. Not great value for money either.
H. S.
As always the food was delicious, but we really have to hand it to our server Rose who went above and beyond for us despite how busy it was (26/08/2020 @ 7.15pm). Staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is great. I would definitely recommend to anyone
R. S.
Disappointing compared with the sadly now closed Sheffield branch. Food was pretty mediocre for the prices. Haven't visited since pre covid when it would have been 5 stars so hopefully maybe just an off night.
N. C.
Wow! Epic portions and very tasty food. Always busy and the staff are great.
T. F.
Have come twice since the first lockdown and the food was good on both occasions. Staff were nice and friendly and the food came in a timely manner. Will be back when possible to try and get through some more of the menu!
C. F.
If you love meat then this is a must visit place. The smell as you walk into the front door is amazing, it's almost as if they have a giant meat cooking scented candle at the front door!
This place has an industrial look about it with exposed brick walls, scaffolding in place where you can sit and colourful neon lights but all done cleverly which adds to the atmosphere. We found the choice of food available just right but even then deciding what to order was difficult. They had a good variety of beers on offer and some tasty cocktails too. We didn't have to wait long for the food and it was devine! All 4 of us fell into silence as we all tucked in giving nods of approval without having to say anything. I'd definitely recommend this place. 😁
K. J.
Bbq always amazing here, lovely food and you get a lot for your money plus if you order too much you can take a box home with you. Definitely book ahead because it is so popular. Great food, most staff are friendly. One way system needs a bit of work but I think they have done their best to keep everyone safe.
r. t.
Wonderful. So much meat! So tasty! The wife and I shared a main with two sides and were still full. If you do over-order though the staff provide take-out boxes, which is nice. Great atmosphere too. Love the place
G. M.
Food is always super tasty and portions generous. I really appreciate they’re also introducing vegan options too alongside their meat staples. Just wish they would switch they’re plastic toothpicks for classic and less harmful wooden ones!
A. M.
Went here for a works Christmas party and the experience was mixed. Booked for 8pm many weeks ago, turned up and the starters weren't ready until almost 9pm. Not a huge problem as we had no time constraints but it took 30 mins for the drinks to arrive and we got asked for a second round before the first had even been delivered!
Negatives aside, the food is good and it's a meat lovers paradise. Everything we had was worth waiting for, especially the brisket and the wings, and I'd like to go back again to try some other items from the menu.
Food is what you would expect to pay but the drinks seem very expensive for what they are.
A. R.
Most authentic American grill I've had outside of America, good service also!
R. M.
Fantastic selection for BBQ and meat enthusiasts. A little more than you would usually pay for a meal out but worth it for the experience occasionally. Red's variety and quality of BBQ based foods, alongside their decent drink selection is a great treat. The location is convenient and the decor is quirky but works well with the theme, worth booking.
R. H.
Tuesday night, pretty light crowd. Good selection of beers and good meats from the smoker. Brisket and ends were great and the chicken fell off the bones. Mac and cheese a must-have. Good sauce selection and decent service. Cool atmosphere too. The only thing I didn't like was the jerky starter. Overall, their smoked meats are as good as any you'll get in the states.
C. D.
Good service, great beer (the Dos Equines is a cracker) and they really do know how to cook their meat!!
D. A.
Nice food nice staff perfect combo!
M.
I came here in a visit to Nottingham and came to this restaurant and have to say enjoyed it
I had the steak with fries and have to say that the steak was very good when added with sauce especially barbecue but did go cold in about 20 minutes which did mean I had to eat very quick the fries tasted very nice and the Onion rings were lush. The staff made me feel welcome and the toilets were very hygienic but it is really warm in the building but one of the staff brought us a fan. Which I thank you for.
Overall
I would definitely eat here again
B. T.
Always very nice! Best bbq in Notts that isnt smithys smoke shack. A little on the pricey side but worth it
A. C.
Super fast friendly service! First visit to a Red's and we loved it. Sumptuous juicy meat and tasty fries. Excellent range of interesting beers as well. 2nd visit was not great with just warm meat and uninterested staff. Dropping to 3 stars from 5.
m. r.
Great food but what's with the service charge. I have read a previous response from reds that stated it's common for larger groups to receive a service charge??? We as only 2 of us. and it's not common well it's the first place we.have been to and received a service charge. Your foods great but it's hardly cheap so a charge on top takes the biscuit!
J.
Good food, good service, great vibes!
D. B.
Love the food here, good value for money. The gluten free options are good, but limited and the wheelchair access is not ideal, the staff are very helpful though. They have a decent range of drinks. The decor is great, unusual for the UK. It's quite often very busy but you can only book in large parties so expect a wait.
D. W.
Nice food, pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. It was a brilliant venue to start celebrating our daughters birthday
B. B.
Lovely food, allowed us to take unfinished food away in a box. Access to toilets. Chicken here is amazing
L. F.
Visited her a couple of weeks ago with my husband. We had booked a table as we were off to see a show afterwards and wanted to make sure we got a table with it being a Saturday evening. We were shown to our table in good time and ordered our drinks, the place itself was very industrial looking and quite quirky. The menu was quite extensive and we placed our order. The starters arrived without much of a wait, I had the mushrooms which were delicious and they came on a slice of grilled bread. When the mains arrived, the food looked and tasted great, I had the brisket and burnt ends which just melted. We ordered sides of broccoli, onion rings and fries which were all delicious. The only thing that I didn't like particularly was the use of grilled sliced bread!! It came with my starter and my brisket was on top of a slice of grilled bread again which I wasn't keen on - there was nothing special about it, it was just like a plain slice of white bread, but grilled? I would have either preferred more meat or if bread was the way to go for Red's then why not go for a bread that is more rustic, like a wedge of nice artisan bread, grilled and rubbed with garlic?
R. B.
It was our favourite place when it first opened but now we rarely go and when I do it's usually disappointing for one reason or another. The prices have increased to a point where we'll only go of there's an offer. The menu has gotten smaller and less interesting, portion sizes have decreased and the quality of the food in terms of depth of flavour just isn't what it was. We're usually sat elbow to elbow with strangers too as people are packed in to small tables for two. Its ok but it used to be so much better.
M.
Phenomenal food. Overpriced drinks. Staff can't really wait on tables all that well. We ordered some scratchings to snack on whilst we waited for our food and they never came. Our mains were brought to us pretty fast though. I was sat next to a gentleman who waited around 10 minutes between asking for his bill and receiving it to wait another 2-3 minutes for a card machine to be brought over when he said I will pay on card straight away. They were fortunately faster with us.
R. I.
An "American style" BBQ restaurant (they even have the obligatory massive portion option called the BBQ Bin Lid, minimum of 2 people). Come here if you like meat with a selection of sauces, mostly BBQ varieties with 1 "hot" sauce. The 2 meats, 1 side option was the perfect size for me. I had a 1/4 chicken and chopped pork, which was actually pulled pork. And their fries are wonderful with the salt and pepper they provide! Expect to spend £20 pp (inc. drinks and a tip). The staff were very friendly and casual which greatly adds to the atmosphere.
I have previously used Deliveroo with them and there's no comparison, you simply have to come in and eat.
G. J.
Came here with my wife and family after hearing good things. First impressions weren’t great as we were left stood at the ‘booking in’ counter for a considerable time until I ended up having to go search for someone.
We were a little early for our reservation but they managed to seat us straight away which was very helpful as we were all cold and wet.
The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, in fact I’d say it was very quiet as I could only see two other tables with people at them and we still managed to get seated at a table that was SERIOUSLY wobbly! Emergency DIY was needed to stabilise it.
The Pepsi was £2.90 (I believe) for a glass of which most was ice, quite unbelievable amount for a glass of iced down Pepsi really.
I orders a double doughnut burger that yes was exceptionally nice and like nothing I’ve tasted before, but, it was so much smaller than I was expecting for £14.50 but it was something different and tasted beautiful. On the other hand the fries were absolutely rank! For the price I’d have thought that could’ve done better than warm frozen french fries from the local supermarket, spoilt the meal for me and my family all agree on the chips. COME ON REDS SURELY YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN SKINNY LIMP FRENCH FRIES TO COMPLIMENT YOUR MEAT DISHES, LIKE BIG CHUNKY STEAK CHIPS.
I’d return to reds but would avoid the drink and chips as not worth the cost at all.
C. G.
Very good service by Rena this evening. Reds is still top in Notts.
T. W.
Lovely lunch with excellent service, this place does takeout from behind the bar area inside the left of the main door. There was a lovely sweet Smokey smell wafting through the place with a unique menu that doesn't copy every other restaurant on the street. Well worth a visit and fairly priced. #PitmasterBurger was really good and an ability to handle larger groups of people easily.
R. B.
Good authentic style BBQ, well decorated. I'll let you decide if smelling like BBQ when you leave is a good thing or not but the food was good. We shared the seat meal at £20 a head, which was delicious and plenty of food, all served on a dustbin lid, and actual trash can lid. Lovely experience we'll be back!
C. D. (.
The food is very tasty and I would definitely recommend to meat-lovers. Not sure of the same for vegetarians though.
There are a few dishes for them but our vegetarian friend did get stomach ache after eating the veggie tray.
You can build your own plate, which is great in terms of flexibility.
Drinks are good though when combined with the food, the meal can come out on the pricey side.
C. M.
The baby back ribs and wings are a tenacious combo. Coupled with their respective sauces, don't look any further.
N. S.
Very good,party of 6,had a bbq bin lid,loads of meat/fries the full monty,very enjoyable.
J. C.
Amazing BBQ food, I had a glazed donut burger which was fantastic, I tried all the different sauces available and whilst none stood out they were all better than standard BBQ sauce. The decor is a little bit over the top but it does create a nice atmosphere. Toilets are a little bit of a puzzle with somewhat confusing signage so be cautious and finally the drinks are pricey but that's to be expected from this sort of restaurant.
A.
Good portion sizes, but the food quality varies dramatically depending on when you go during the week. I have had some really very fantastic meals here, but more often the food has been dry and over cooked. For a smokehouse this seems like a cardinal sin. Add that to the expensive prices and you will understand why I no longer choose to visit.
D. W.
Incredible service, sat down served and food on the table in less than 15 minutes. Staff were extremely helpful given our earlier bad experience at a different bbq place on the other end of the city center. Food was delightful and although the Pepsi was flat, it was quickly rectified and compensated. Cannot fault the place and thanks to Callum the Sous Chef & Jasmine the waitress for your absolutely incredible 10/10 service.
P. R.
Meat-tastic! This place is truly a haven for people who love meat. We got a deluxe sharing platter for 2 and I had a milkshake; the milkshake was excellent, but I enjoyed the platter more - a very comprehensive selection of meats with whiskey in two pippets to drizzle on, but we just drank them 😀and an accompaniment tray that was also very meaty!
We had a five year old with us that was very well catered for with colouring books and pencils.
Great value for money for a well cooked meal in a city centre restaurant.
K. L.
Went here on Friday 15th February. The atmosphere was great! Servers was very nice. But prices are fit for a king and the portion was fit for a toddler. The food was really good I just wish I had more on my plate.
B. G.
Absolutely delicious meal. It was fascinating watching it all be cooked and the range of sauces provided on the table were very tasty. The service left a bit to be desired, it wasn't slow but it the staff felt a bit rude, as if the customers were an inconvenience. It wouldn't put me off going back though as it was efficient at least and the food is worth it!
I. M.
It promised so much from a keto diet point of view, but they had run out of many things on the menu by late afternoon on a Bank Holiday.
The staff were flexible on swapping side dishes, which was nice, but the kale I was served would have been taxing for a very large cow to chew. The staff were open to suggestions on that though.
Finishing on a happy note, the ribs were awesome.
j. p.
Been coming to Reds since the place opened and its never lost its shine. The staff are always helpful and polite. The food is always on point. If you like meat then go no further. Can't recommend this place highly enough.
S. G.
Delicious hot served food.. Free cocktails on deal were a let down tho
H. C.
Thought the food from here was great. Cooked just the way I like and delicious. Staff very friendly and very quick about everything, which was good considering we had not much time before having to get a train home.
J. M.
To say the food is good would be a wild understatement.
The place has a great quasi industrial atmosphere with nice use of neon. The smoke from the pit smells extraordinary and immediately sets your saliva glands to 11.
Service is friendly and genuine.
Beer is good and menu appropriate, quite hoppy and fruity to cut the richness of the meat.
And oh the meat....
Brisket which falls apart, meltingly delicious sausage, burnt ends to kill for and table sauces you'd like to drink. The dressings are simple and perfectly suited; gherkins, chili peppers and red onion.
I could eat here weekly.
D. H.
Red's has turned into our standard date night experience since my girlfriend has moved to Nottingham with Uni. Food is amazing, beautifully smoked and always spot on. Restaurant staff have always been friendly and humorous and the atmosphere is great if you enjoy old rock and roll music and the more industrial architecture
Would 1000% recommend!
(Give me free food)
S. A.
Good food. Ribs were really good
T. I.
Great meat, great beer! They smoke some incredible brisket, it's criminal not to try it if you visit, and the burgers are a solid option too! The Pitmaster tray almost finished me off, but it's the best item on the menu!
N. B.
Really tasty authentic BBQ. The pulled pork and smoked brisket are generally great with the sausages a close second. Can be very busy but once at a table the service is friendly and quick. Worth booking if you can. Well worth a visit if you fancy some true BBQ
M. B.
Really impressed by the meat. Certainly a place we will revisit.
A. B.
I first visited a Reds True BBQ when I was a Uni student in Leeds and visited both the city centre and Headingley venues multiple times.
As an avid lover of proper, smoked BBQ food, I was taking my other half out as a Xmas treat to go mad and try a bit of everything.
When we arrived we were told there would be a 30 minute wait which we didn't mind or weren't expecting. We were sat within 20 minutes and were enjoying drinks from the bar. (The bar staff were also great and attentive upon arrival).
Food, as per usual, was quick to arrive, cooked to perfection, had great portion sizes and service was bought to us with a smile.
Unfortunately for me, after 3 and a half courses and multiple drinks, I was reminded of the prices of the food, which is a tad expensive but for the quality, it's worthwhile (at least I believe so).
Also, I had eyes WAY bigger than my stomach and suffered all evening feeling like I'd eaten half of all of their stock.
Thank you again Reds, you never disappoint.
S. D.
Went for my birthday with wife and 3 kids having been before on a Saturday some time ago. Staff are great but my brisket and burnt ends was several slices of brisket which had obviously been sliced some time before and had time to dry out placed on top of a slice of cheap white bread. Wife left her pulled chicken too. It was a Tuesday evening but the place was reasonably busy so no excuse to not have fresh food.
I mentioned it to waiter and was told manager would reduce cost of dish by half and this was 17 quid dish, but manager did not have a look at the food. Perhaps they need to QC a bit more.
I hear restaurants like this are in a highly competitive market but I wont be going back.
M. M.
The food was delicious, but they ran out of a few items - some starts and beer weren't available. I understand it's been a busy couple of weeks since the students are back in town, but not having do many items available doesn't leave the best impression.
M. D.
The food was incredible it was cooked fast and we didn't have to wait a long time for a table recommend eating there
A. C.
Great service , my daughter loved the kids menu and our waitress was super helpful and nice to her
M. W.
My partner and I love Red’s food and as we were staying overnight in Nottingham, we thought we’d visit for an evening meal.
We were seated at the end of a table full of other guests, which was a bit strange as it felt like we were encroaching on their space. However, not a big issue.
After the table left two males were seated next to us, clearly worse for wear after a few beers, and from the moment they sat down we loud to the point neither me or my partner could hear each other.
We pretty much sat in silence throughout our whole meal whilst both of them vocalised their graphic anal sexual activity with a “ten out of ten” bird who kept coming back for more, despite him already being in a relationship himself. Between this and his persistent ‘snorting’, it’s safe to say it dampened our enjoyment of the evening.
Why didn’t we move or why didn’t I say something? Well, I’m pretty sure their “how dare I” attitude would have inflamed the situation and further ruined our meal.
None of this is the fault of Red’s staff, and I’m sure if I’d mentioned something to them they’d have acted. All waiting staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the food was spot on.
C. B.
Some amazing food and a good variety of sauces but I feel like the drinks are lacking a little bit. Staff were super helpful, considering a mistake on the order but everything was cooked to perfection
K. C.
Food is amazing here. I've been 3 times so far and always had a good experience and it has a Great atmosphere
D. H.
Great front of house team. Lovely atmosphere and cocktails to die for.
The feast is a wonderful belly filler 😉
M. T.
Food ok but over priced. Our booking had been made at least two months earlier but our table was not in the main seating area a real disappointment.

Amazing food, I definitely recommend it here. The experience itself is good, the inside is interestingly themed, we've never had particularly slow service. There are a few minor negatives;
They seem to be out of something a lot of the time. Thankfully not anything I want, but still.
The alcoholic drinks are very expensive! You pay 3-4 pounds for a standard sized can of cider. Would not recommend it.
You'll probably smell of barbecue smoke when you leave.

Aye not great. Staff were pretty slow despite there being MANY of them. Appreciate it's Christmas and all so not having a moan about that, just an observation. Food was OK, might have been busy as we felt it hadn't been lovingly prepared, felt a little rushed. Kinda weird review but factually correct!
A. R.
Absolutely amazing quality food, sides and main! Great balanced food, lots of veg with cheese and meat, all well cooked, very little grease and oil as freshly cooked off the grill! Absolutely a must go to! Only wish they had a few more branches further south!
C. B.
Went last night (Fri) first visit, spent ages pouring over menu as it just didn't appeal much (my fella likes it here) played safe and ordered 'bird' but wished I'd gone with my gut and left before ordering! 1/3 of my meal was inedible as it was so dry! Rest of meal was ok, staff were ok, milkshake was nice but that's hard to f'up. I couldn't wait to leave. Won't visit again :/

We visited on Monday for the first time as a birthday celebration and were really impressed. The delicious food was served quickly, the menu choices were fantastic, the portions and prices are great. But what stood out was the service from our lovely waiter. He really made our meal special from the birthday wishes he gave to organising the meal to be milk free, he gave a great service and was smiley and happy too. We will definitely be going back.., they have NHS discount too bonus! Thank you Reds True Barbeque!
J. H.
Absolutely amazing BBQ food and really affordable price. I went for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, try the chicken wings! I'd recommend going halves with someone on the huge tray of meat - means you can sample mostly everything they do! Will definitely be returning at some point soon!!!
L.
Not what it used to be. Was excellent when it first opened but now the menu and quality of food is severely lacking. Service was good
C. B.
The staff were exceptional. We tried burgers this time round because the grill can sometimes be a little dry. Will definitely have a burger again soon!
S. L.
Been a while since visiting Reds but enjoyed my first few visits and do love bbq food. However was left a bit disappointed with the "just bbq'd freshness" of the food on this visit (which was probably how the food turned up in like 5 minutes! Record time in any restaurant). Pulled pork was pretty much cold along with the brisket, bbq ribs were dry and chewy. Lucky the spicy sauces gave it some life...but when the only thing fresh I felt were the coleslaw and fries, it wasn't the bbq experience I remembered/wanted. Lucky we had the 40% voucher cos I'd be gutted to pay £18 for that...will say the staff and service were excellent tho so all credit deserved there.
C. B.
The experience starts from the moment you walk through the door and your nasal passages are caressed by the smells of true smoking. Plenty to choose from on the menu. While the food isn't that expensive, drinks definitely are on the pricey side. Tables are a bit close together too but it won't put me off going back for more
R. P.
A great place to dine for adults but I wouldn't bring kids here.
B. M.
Fantastic food and perfectly served American Pale Ales make every visit more than worth it. The monthly specials always bring something new and delicious to the table. Even better, they have a cheaper menu and student discounts. The only downside is that they have trouble accomodating large groups (7+), even on a Tuesday night when the place seemed empty.
J. C.
I visited the red's originally when it had a venue in London, it was fantastic. I was dismayed when in Nottingham to find it no longer had cornbread, and it's meats somewhat tougher and not as well smoked through as I first experienced. It's still an okay meal but at the price and my expectations, unfortunately fell short for me
B. K.
A meat eaters paradise, some good meat sharing platters, some pretty good burgers, and lots of beef based options. The cocktail menu looked ok, the prices were reasonable, and the meals were filling. Cant complain.
A. W.
I don't think I've ever left here without eating far too much! Really great food, and specifically great beer. Friendly service and the decor is really nice, there can be a bit of a wait for a table etc. due to the popularity but it is certainly a place we take friends who don't come from Nottingham to!
S. D.
I'm from Canada, and love an authentic BBQ. My husband saw this place and we intended to visit. We are just back from Calgary where meat and BBQ are big, so we had high hopes having seen the reviews (and had told friends about it too).
We were greeted by a lovely lady in a pink sweater having made a booking online (I'm sorry I didnt get your name!) Although we were a little early it was not an issue. We got a nice table with space for a high chair and somewhere to tuck our pram in. The hostess was knowledgeable about the menu and gave some great recommendations . Our server Adam was just as friendly and helpful and let us know about the authentic root beer available and how much food we should order...
We were thrilled at the quality of food, portion size and the brisket and ribs were AMAZING! Well flavoured, tender and just what you would hope to have served!
Our bill was very reasonable and I think they offer deals for kids to eat when adults order a platter or main meal. We got a voucher to get 40% off if we visit again soon. Even if that is before the end of August.... We are going!
I'm a real foodie, and love wagamamas, but ask me where I'd like to go again in town, between the two, Red's has my vote 😁 great job guys! We will absolutely tell our friends about our experience! From the Diggle Family who visited 25/8/18
a. l.
Good food but unfortunately no more at Louis ribs, no burnt ends and no more swine fries on the menu!!!
Bring them back!
I. T.
The food is cooked on show and the atmosphere is really relaxed and enjoyable. Super friendly staff and the food is amazing!
If you're a meat lover this is definitely the place for you and your friends or family.
The price of the food is acceptable for the inner city and you do get good quality food!
T. P.
This place has lost some charm since it opened. The menu has lost a lot. It used to have these 'Bibles' now just one large sheet, nowhere near as much choice. I had a steak, 28 days matured, which maybe true but I'm not sure if the cow was that old. White, tasteless slab of meat. Cooked well enough, but not a tasty cut by any means.
t. t.
Awesome food and excellent service. A bit of a wait for a table but that understandable. It was nice sitting at the bar and the food is well worth the wait. I recommend the Brisket and fried pickles! Can't wait to go again.
O. L.
Absolute meat heaven. Such an amazing atmosphere, you'll smell the smoke on your clothes the next day and that's definitely a good thing. Their sauces are outstanding, the menu is varied enough to keep you coming back, and they are the pioneer of the donut burger.
A. J.
Great atmosphere, a quirky theme and loved the music playlist in the background. The staff couldn't do enough for us; super helpful and welcoming, but didn't hover. Best of all, the food is heavenly!
P. R.
There's only one vegetarian option, and it comes with a jokey "do you want some meat with that" question - but that doesn't really matter when the vegetarian option is so good. A brilliant vegetarian burger, one of the best (certainly in a chain) I've ever had, and the sides are cracking. Great beer and drink list as well. Wasn't expecting to enjoy this at all - but did.
C. C.
Came for wedding anniversary meal, such a wonderful experience. Meal was fantastic, seating was quick despite being busy ,service was quick, staff were really friendly. Definitely recommend, definitely coming again.
s. t.
Incredible experience, amazing meat really big portions!!!
K. J.
Very nice food, Reception was cold greater was on the phone when we arrived he didn't acknowledge us while we waited I understand he was on a call with another customer but a small eye gesture would of been enough rather than ignoring us. Otherwise very nice waiting staff very good.
S. S.
Real american BBQ not just food grilled with BBQ sauce on it real smoked tender juicy mouth watering amazing goodness! Will be back again for sure maybe not have the World Championship Bundle as i was ready to pop after that very good! everyone in my group really like all they had. The range of Gluten Free options was really good as well.
K. D.
Great food and decor. Would have given it 5 stars but the cocktails are tiny and way over priced! Waiting staff could work on being more attentive too.
C. G.
Absolutely brilliant food. The smell as you walk in is a taste of what's to come. Nice welcome and good service. The pork belly starter is a winner. Wish we had one near us.
F. A. A. R.
One of my favourite places in Nottingham by far. Great meat and ambient for a chat with friends or partner. Staff have always been nice to us when going. Overall a great place.
K. H.
Meaty, macho themed eatery. Veggies will have to be good with the carnivore spectacles on neighbouring tables!! Always busy and buzzing. Very central location. Kids welcome with own menu. Popular with students and groups but would recommend pre-booking to avoid long waits at busy times.
P. P.
Best burgers and chips ever not to be missed will go back there again service was brilliant
N. H.
wow wow WOW!! if you love smoked meat, this place is insane - the staff were so lovely & friendly, the food arrived really quickly & was so tasty - good selection of tasty beers too, oh and great value for money too - we left stuffed & very happy 👍🏻
J. S.
Food here is so nice! Easily my favourite restaurant.
T. P.
Red's made it to Nottingham early in the BBQ trend - originating from Leeds rather than London. Their food is absolutely fantastic, with their pitmasters competing annually in American BBQ contests. The value comes not from cheap on-paper prices but a combo of amazingly well done BBQ food and great portions. Alongside that they have a good selection of interesting drinks, staff are friendly and helpful, and the monthly email offers and loyalty system are good. The industrial interior and meat-centric menu won't be for everyone, but I'd definitely recommend trying it - Mondays and Tuesdays are often a bit quieter
M. N.
Truly amazing, I love this place from the atmosphere to the food and drinks, the portions are decent the ribs are out of this world, if you're a lover of meat this place is a must! the shakes are fantastic they have a really good selection of drinks to be honest, it's actually a reasonable price for what you get.
S. T.
Fantastic food and great service with a cool vibe from the decor. Extensive enough menu with a variety of beers, cocktails and soft drinks/mocktails meaning there's something for the whole family. There is even a meat free and super food option in this carnivores heaven.
My wife and I went for the feast sharing platter which is basically a bit of everything (sticky chicken, smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs, beans, slaw, onion rings, skin on fries) and everything got eaten. Number one son went for the dirty chicken burger - extremely good - and number two son loved his classic bacon cheeseburger. My daughter was content with sharing bits of everyone's food and having her own mac and cheese.
Special mention to the toilets!
Highly recommend!!!

We've been to Red's several times and normally we really enjoy going. It's been several months since our last visit. However, on a recent visit we arrived late in the evening, about half an hour before closing. We knew that there was a good chance you would no longer be serving, but given how we liked the place, we thought we'd chance it. When we arrived we got a rather frosty reception. There was nobody at the desk so we moved forward as we have in the past to get someone's attention. Three staff, including the barman, seemed to purposely be trying to avoid looking at or engaging with us and it wasn't until we were already in the process of leaving that the member of staff at the door came to tell us you were no longer serving. We don't mind that you weren't serving, given how late we arrived, but having several staff ignore and avoid us instead of just saying you were closing up was kind of upsetting. As though now that you weren't accepting people we were no longer worth the friendly service we'd received in the past.
A. F.
Beautiful meat course's Burgers pulled pork the lot .not a place for vegies
D. B.
Love this place. Food is amazing. Half price cocktails on a Sunday. Joe looked after us. Can't wait to go back. Hope we have him as our server. Thanks!
S. R.
Great food and great atmosphere. Decent value for money too.
J. C.
The meat is delicious! It just melts as soon as its touched by cutlery. Tastier and better value then steak and chips in "posh pub".
Table service. One or two vegetarian options. Wide range of soft and alcoholic drinks, and a standalone bar too boot. Disabled access and toilets.
C. D.
We visited for the lunch menu. There was a lot on offer for the 9.99 menu which includes a drink. What's great is that the normal menu is also on offer if you want anything else! The food itself is incredible, and they have really upped the quality of the sides. I have been here a few times and will continue to visit!
A. W.
Really good meat and generous sides. Just make sure you've worked up an appetite first! Place was packed so I'm sure I'm not the only one who liked it
D. B.
Great selection on the menu, a little pricey but the portion sizes are mostly decent. Would like to go back and try the burgers. Great decor and friendly staff. I love Reds sauce so its a winner.
S. R.
Overall the food is good. Although it has been hit and miss in the past. Unfortunately I think the brisket here is pretty poor. Which is a shame as it seems it is something they have pride in when they enter the US BBQ competitions. Just wish that was the case here. Service is quick, and the staff are great whenever I've been.
P. H.
Worth booking ahead as can get busy at peak times. Good food, attentive staff, decent drinks selection. A few veggie and vegan offerings now added to the otherwise very meaty menu!
M. C.
Food is cooked and presented to a high quality. Price is on the higher side, in my opinion, but ok as I only really only visit on special occasions. The price of soft drinks was the biggest shock. as a person that rarely drinks alcohol im getting a bit tired of paying alcohol prices for post mix drinks and Reds was particularly expensive.
D. R.
Seems to have gone downhill in recent months.
Quality of food not as fresh and servings sizes seem smaller. Not as many people go at lunch times so atmosphere could be better. Still a good meal.
S. I.
Staff were brilliant and the food was even better! Will definitely be going back!
D. W.
Amazing, mouth watering, fall off the bone meats. Will be going again.
L. R.
Been here before and generally been good, but because of the "Eat Out to Help Out" scheme, our dinner to mark a special occasion, which was booked greatly in advance was cancelled, leaving us very little time to find an alternative elsewhere.
L. W.
Amazing BBQ, great atmosphere - now just need an excuse to go back!
F. S.
Waited for food well under the 45 minutes they suggested. Try the pitmaster tray - pulled pork is sweet and succulent, ribs fall off the bone, cheese and jalapeno sausage is a standout...but the brisket. My god. Nothing compares to it. Go, eat, be fat, be happy.
d. F.
Very helpful with allergy advice and double checked when ordering. Amazing food. Thanks
E. C.
This is one of my favourite places to eat in Nottingham. I'll be first in line when you open again. My favourite meal is brisket and burnt ends.
V. A.
I enjoyed going here; the food was fine and the service was good but I probably won't be making a return visit. I think it's slightly expensive for what it is, especially given the number of other good options around.
D. M.
This is a blokey blokes place. The portions of meat is impressive and the service is very fast. The decor had a deliberate half finished look to it. I liked it alot but its a place I wouldn't go to often as I'd get bored too quick. What would you like? Meat or meat?
G. D.
A truly epic meal with amazing service.
Had never been before and don't want to eat anywhere else ever again.
Plus 20% off for us poor NHS staff.
Z. T.
Food is indulgent and reasonably priced, if you're looking for American style pit BBQ then red's is definitely at the top of the list of places to visit.
Atmosphere is nice and quirky, a lot of open pipes, rust and lights hanging freeform, the staff are great and it's menu is diverse and tasty.
Definitely visit if you're in nottingham
L. S.
Amazing food and such an awesome decor choice. More of an experience rather than just somewhere to eat. Our waitress was absolutely brilliant even though the place was completely full!
J. L.
Totally amazing! Best smoked chicken I have ever had. I went for the World Championship Bundle (Includes beer / wine); for the free beer I had the Identity Theft APA (5.3%). All totally delicious!
P. G.
Lovely food great prices definitely will be returning.
D. P.
Great tasting bbq, reasonably priced , student beans offers 20% on Sunday to Thursday for students making it very popular. Love the design inside, staff are really knowledgeable about the menu and inform you when you come in if any items are unavailable
l. m.
Fantastic bbq food.been a few times now..never left hungry..
S. S.
Beautiful food got the bin lid meat just melts in your mouth
I would recommend the brisket
N. G.
A meateater's heaven and tempting even for those who aren't (such as myself). Great atmosphere and service! Everything tried has been superb. However recently their menu has changed and some might find that a little limiting (Bring back the apple pie!!) But if in Nottingham, do check it out!
M. G.
BBQ, BBQ, BBQ... What more can I say amazing food, amazing staff so much to choose from you end up buying too much and taking some home trust me (i got the t-shirt). The theme of an abandoned building/church (I think) is amazing and it's got a arcade machine by the bar 👍
P. H.
Food was lovely. Staff friendly. Definitely worth a visit
E. F.
The place was very hot and cramped & the wooden benches we had to sit on were extremely uncomfortable. We had the sharing feast at £20 per head, it was nice but extremely greasy - it was pouring off everything. Left feeling a bit sick from it all.

Mixed Emotions
I took my girlfriend to Red's for her birthday. The space itself is very quirky but we were soon seated by the friendly staff. Ordered a pint of IPA (which was excellent) and some Rib Tips to start. The tips tasted OK but were dry and hard (so hard I broke a tooth on one of them - I didn't notice this until after the meal) seemed like they were reheated from the day before. Soldiering on we ordered our main courses (Long Rib and Sticky chicken for me and the Pitmaster tray for my lady). Highlights were the long Rib , Brisket, Macaroni Cheese, the black and blue fries and the chicken. However the disappointments were the Ribs (overcooked and almost entirely without meat). It's a shame as you'd think Ribs would be a speciality but they were the low point. The staff were friendly and attentive but I would only go back for all but the Ribs really.
J. B.
We came here as a group of 4 and had the bin lid of meat (to share, obviously!!)
There was so much food we struggled to finish it off! The quality and quantity was brilliant and the restaurant has a great atmosphere.
R. M.
Interesting decor, feels like you're in a factory or something. The food is great, staff very friendly, but the beer is a bit pricey. Only real negative was the smoky charcoal smell I had on my clothes afterwards.
B.
Really good BBQ food, the theme is great and staff are lovely.
Sadly they've changed their wings, they use to be monsters, was excited to visit again just for the wings but they've now changed them to the bog standard you get at pubs.
D. “. M.
Go here every time I visit friends in Nottingham, mainly.because it's his favourite place to eat. Have never been disappointed with the food. Would recommend the donut burger, beef burger between two glazed donuts, for anyone whooves sweet and savoury mix. But would suggest you take the donut out from underneath other wise it goes soggy very quickly. The XXXL wings are great the devil sauce is just the right amount of spice. If you like you're burgers, burnt ends, wings and barbecue food is your thing go to reds. Not to mention there range of sauces you can buy.
S. S.
Such good service and food will deffinately go again! Had an amazing time.
C. M.
Red's is quite the experience. Aside from the delicious BBQ meat, the selection of craft beers on offer is large and the restaurant has a quirky, unique atmosphere. With ironic 'church' style elements built into the theming and menu, I think Red's offers something pretty unique.
Y. K.
Love this place.
Came here last year for my birthday and it was amazing then and I am pleased to find that the high standards are still there as this year it was also a fab treat!
If you haven't yet been here you really need to give it a go!
R. S.
This place is always packed. Good standard of bbq food but not the best I've had. Staff are always helpful a d friendly. Service is usually fairly quick. Good range of craft beer.
D. W.
Love this place, you walk out stuffed and with meat sweats!
Pit Burger is to die for, ribs are succulent either dry or wet whichever is good for you personally I prefer dry with some of the Carolina vinegar based sauce.
A. S.
The most authentic American bbq you can get this side of the Atlantic... I'm convinced.
Offering several styles of sauces from Kansas City to the S. Carolina's mustard based...
Moving to the UK, the toughest thing to live without was proper BBQ (and maybe free soft drink refills). Some pubs started serving pulled pork, but it was not proper. Red's is proper. Smoked.
Everything is excellent. In fact, it tops most BBQ places in the States that I've personally visited.
Thank you, Red's.
A. B.
Nice family restaurant (during the day), staff and layout very accommodating of push chairs etc. Decent quality food with what is becoming the standard selection of meals for a BBQ style eatery - Pit Burger and similar stuff.
