What a wonderful surprise! Stopped on a whim for lunch. 5 star meal and service ☺️ .. loved the funky decor 😜 Plenty of parking available and if it wasn't foggy I would suggest a gentle stroll down the river ..

Came here for the black Tuesday, some meals were 50%. I had the fishcakes to start Sausage and mash for the main, it came with cabbage and onion rings, the mash was so creamy and soft. Pudding was plum frangipani, with cinnamon ice cream, plums and ginger cream. Would recommend going, but go on black Tuesday, so that you get money off your menu.

Visited for Sunday lunch. Service was very efficient, staff were lovely. Very attentive. The food..? EXCELLENT!!! We had Korean Fried Cauliflower (KFC!) and Roasted Cauliflower Soup served with cheese croquettes and truffle Oli. Both were awesome! Fit mains, we plumped for the Sunday Roast. One chicken and one beef. Really happy with the quality 🙂

Nice gastro pub by the river, really good service. The famous crispy egg was a great starter, 2 people on the table had the burger and were not big fans, unusual taste and very thick compressed, im sure other people like them but not for us. Had an absolutely wonderful Christmas afternoon tea here. Unlimited tea or coffee and as many sandwiches as we wanted. Also gave us boxes to take away what we couldn't eat. Totally recommend.

Had afternoon tea here, took a friend for her birthday. It was really good. The presentation on the picnic bench was so cute. There was a mixture of savoury items, not just sandwiches which was really nice. All of the cakes were lovely and done to perfection and there was two of everything so you didn't have to worry about splitting anything or someone missing out. We were asked if we wanted additional sandwiches, which we definitely didn't need, we were absolutely stuffed by the end.

Went for lunch on a Saturday and had an early table, had booked for 4 people but only 2 could attend which was dealt with really well and a different table was offered to us which was great. Food was brilliant and very good standard indeed (comparable with World Service, Six, etc.) with some really interesting dishes. Service was very friendly and relaxed with everyone made to feel welcome but as it got busier became a bit less attentive. Tables with families were well looked after and children were welcomed which was good to see for this level of restaurant.

Vegan review: My friend brought me here after tagging me in a vegan menu photo on Facebook, it looked delicious! To start I had the beetroot panna cotta, tofu, granola and beetroot ketchup. It was a small portion, presented very well and tasted great! For the main, caramelised cep mushroom arancini, broccoli, smoked almonds and mustard dressing. This was delicious! Dessert was coconut and soya panna cotta, blueberry and lime granita. It was ok but I wouldn’t order it again. To drink I had a g and t mocktail which was served incorrectly but they changed it without any issues, and later an elderflower pressé. The staff were friendly, the service was great, the atmosphere was lovely. Well done for doing a vegan menu! At the moment there are 2 options for starters, mains and desserts - it would be nice to see at least one more option on there.

I’ve always loved TB for service and food but I’m afraid tonight was a disappointment. A surprise birthday meal, perfect, but, the service was slow, and the drinks orders were even slower. We could have spent so much more if the smiles and service matched the place, but unfortunately, they didn’t and in turn, we went somewhere else for a night cap! Service with a smile goes a long way, and when stating it was a birthday, this should have been a priority, when it wasn’t. I’m glad I booked, but may rethink on future occasions.

Haven't been to Tom Brown's for ages. On return it was brilliant! Our guests loved it too & they'd never been before. Very friendly staff, great choice of food which had Asian influences & a relaxed atmosphere. Will be going back for sure.

Good - but not great. Reasonable value for money - but again, not great. We meet friends here because it's halfway between where we live and it's easy parking....but that's it. Staff friendly - it was quiet (our lunch lasted about two hours!) and when it was time for us to leave we to actually hunt down a member of staff to get the bill.

A popular place for Sunday lunch which we'd pre-booked. So parking (free) was fairly full. Delicious food - I and my friend had the mushroom risotto and fish and chips respectively. A walk down river (muddy path in places) rounded off a lovely afternoon

We were so lucky to get in. The kitchen was shutting at 2pm but they allowed us to be seated at 2.02pm. I had the pork, which was beautifully cooked and have to say the black pudding croquettes were amazing. My wife had the tagliatelle, which was also really food. We decided to try a desert and were not disappointed. The plum frangipane melted in the mouth. The weather outside was miserable but we were happy bunnies on the inside.

Visited recently with a friend for lunch. Very disappointed that there was no Early Bird menu and the prices have almost doubled since our last visit. We both had the lamb which was tasty but rather expensive at £23. Unfortunately we did not see any of the old staff who were very friendly and efficient. All seemed very odd until I researched on the Internet and discovered TBs have been bought out. I hope the new owners can match the previous standards of food, service and cost as it has always been one of my favourite places to dine.

Another delightful experience at Tom Brown's where the food is always exceptional and the friendly staff make every detail perfect. Good selection of GF, V & VE options, and special mention should be made to the KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower) which my husband and I are still talking about 2 days later! Doing a great job post lockdown. Felt very safe and distanced even with a little one in tow. Changing facilities were in exceptional condition and the outdoor seating was the perfect location for a post walk beer with the dog and baby. The food that was coming out of the kitchen also looked sublime although we didn't sample it this time around.

Visited this place over Christmas and was impressed. I am not a huge fan of Christmas menus but the menu here was impressive. Pre meal drink where offered in the bar area which was nice. Good range of wines and professional staff to advise. Through to the dining room which was modern and opulent. Food was good. Timings between course were stop on allowing time for our party to chat. All in all a nice experience. Would definitely visit again and try their full menu.

A beautiful place with a very nice atmosphere by the river. Really nice inside and the staff are very friendly and helpful. On a beautiful day you can sit outside to have your meal. The food was nice and well presented. My only slight criticism is that you don't get a lot for the (fairly high) price you pay. This could just be me though - I'm more used to going to places where you get 2 meals for a tenner, not a burger with a few chips for £13! Others might think this is reasonable??!

Electric Cabaret evening Saturday 13th November 2021. What a disappointment, left after the food as the cabaret was so poor, performers seemed to think getting there clothes off was Burlesque never mind about the quality of the performance, I am not sure the large number of girl groups of the 300 wanted to see women stripping as it was obvious only a small number of the guests appeared engaged with the acts. Food was ok considering the numbers but at £75.00 a head plus drinks was an evening I didn't think Tom Browns would put on unless considering a stag night. Very disappointed and felt mis-sold an evening booked months before. We have been to several events over the years and expected a similar evening, what a let down.

We've been here a number of times before but this is our first during the CoVid crisis. We went on a Sunday evening after pre-booking and it was a shame to see that there were so few tables occupied, even allowing for appropriate social distancing. Perhaps this was down to the clientele being scared off by the local news stories about Nottinghamshire being so infected that we were surely headed into the Government's top tier of restrictions? If we do end up at that level then we'll abide by the restrictions but until then we're supporting local establishments as we'd like to see them survive this. The food was all lovely, as we have come to expect, and the service was attentive and courteous too so rest assured we will be back when we can

Brilliant Brasserie. Had a great night at Tom Brown's the other night. The food was very good and arrived quickly. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Live music (from Simon Faulkner Band on this occasion) was an added bonus and made it a particularly fun evening. Would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for nice food in great surroundings.

I was very impressed the restaurant managed to accommodate a booking for 6 people on a sunny Sunday when phoning up on the day. The food was very good quality at a reasonable price. Service was friendly and attentive, and our waitress really looked after us. My only criticism would be the part where we sat was very cramped, with only a small gap between the tables making it very difficult to get up from the table.

Delicious Sunday Takeaway Lunch June 2020 Excellent sirloin of beef Sunday takeaway lunch. The food we collected was easy to heat at home and every part of the meal was delicious, from the beef itself, to the yorkshires, roasties, cauliflower cheese, carrots, broccoli, green beans and beautiful beef gravy. The portion sizes were generous enough to require a break between the main course and desserts. And the desserts were delicious: warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and clotted cream, and cherry almond tart with cherries, cherry sauce and clotted cream. A wonderful meal, our first quality restaurant meal for many weeks. Most of the family are now asleep! Thanks Tom Brown's!

Came for a Christmas eve family meal. The meal was delicious and well presented, except for the Christmas pud which was smothered in very tart red berrys which absolutely ruined the Christmas puds which I normally love, other guests also said their puddings looked fabulous, but at least one element on their dish wasn't nice, was not able to complain due to staff quickly cleared our plates without asking if the nearly full portions had a problem. So not happy with that especially as it's a refined establishment and not a cheap chain of pubs.

We decided to take our parents for a Sunday roast and chose Tom Browns based on past experience. The pub was clean and tidy, busy for a Sunday lunch but not mobbed. We sat promptly and staff were efficient. Ordering the pate, fish cakes for starters; latter was lovely, pate was ok but with 1 (yes 1) tiny slice of toast was nowhere near enough. The main problem came with the mains; Roast pork - pretty much uncooked veg, tasteless pork (tasted like it been regenerated in microwave), tiny piece of cracking, deep fried roasties, ok Yorkshire and bland gravy (looked like it was from a packet). Roast chicken - all of the above except chicken was acceptable, although lacking a bit of flavour. The food was not up to the standard of the prices they were charging, poor quality and waiting 10 minutes for the bill just frustrated even more.

Amazing food in a great location, would highly recommend their steaks, there is a hotel next to the restaurant and a river in front which is occupied with boats which you can hire. There is a golf club nearby which you can buy a day pass for crazy golf or regular. Tom Browns Brasserie has excellent service and serves a wide range of cocktails along with ciders and beers.
