Really great place! A little wait to get seated but we'll worth it. Great menu with loads of choice & super quick service, food really excellent 👌 You really feel like you are sat in some kind of market/street.
T. P.
Great place with a fab atmosphere. The menu is huge which is great for larger groups, there is definitely something for everyone. We were not keen on the plastic cups for water, but this was a minor gripe. Overall, I would recommend.

I must say this place was fantastic. The interior design is an assult on your eyes....but not in a bad way. Everywhere you look there is something interesting to see and it's so colorful.
Our waitress Moo was a delight and so attentive to us. She recommended dishes and was a real pleasure to chat to.
The food was divine! Really delicious flavours and my vegetarian main was superb. I would absolutely return!

Delicious thai with a huge menu and selection. Amazing variety of dishes for vegans and vegetarians including new menu items of mock chicken. Quirky decor, and always an incredible bustling atmosphere and fast service. A must visit for Nottingham
D. A.
Great food, quick service, nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Big menu with lots of options, both meat and vegan options, alcoholic and non also available via the cocktail list.

First time I was here 2 years ago. Every time when I want to go somewhere or order something for takeaway My first thought is always Zaap. ! I really love that food, its excellent. Taste and amount. Price is reasonable what is really important as well. I recommended Zaap to all of my friends and most of them tried and they were really happy with my recommendation.

Service is very quick and the staff are swift. Free tap water is for the customer to get at their leisure. We ordered had chicken gyoza, satai chicken, chicken curry, and pad thai noodles. The satai chicken was delicious and had good flavour. The chicken gyoza was crispy but had little flavour. The pad thai was way too spicy for my wife, but was delicious. The chicken curry was not spicy at all, even after I asked for extra spicy. The vibe and venue was awesome, looked like a back alley on a busy street.

Amazing food in a really Thai environment! Food is authentic and everything we tried was delicious
w.
Great, fun place to eat. Extensive menu, with almost too many choices. However, there's something for everyone.
Just a quick note.... get there quick for tuk tuk

I recently visited here with a friend for dinner and cocktails. The staff were pleasant and helpful from our arrival and departure.
The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, and is decorated really well.
I ordered a Pad Prik Gang which was Beef with Red curry sauce and vegetables, and just as expected it was delicious!
I also ordered a Thai Passion Mojito from the cocktail menu which came in a little silver topless teapot!
I really enjoyed my first ever visit to Zaap and will definitely be returning in the future.

Wow!! What an experience!! The whole restaurant feels like you're in Thailand, from the train, street signs, rickshaws, randomly styled tables, open kitchen and how fast the food was served!!! The food was all fresh, absolutely authentic and very tasty 😋. The meal was worth every penny and the staff were friendly and had a great sense of humour 😊🤣 It's a pity the restaurant is not available in London 😞 I definitely recommend going there.
T. D.
Absolutely brilliant. The interior alone feels like you're stepping into the culture - a bustling, warm atmosphere with lights, signs, hats and art hung up everywhere. We were even seated at a wagon table which really added to the experience and made it feel more cosy and personal. The menu is extensive and has a wonderful variety (so much food to try and for insanely good prices!) And the staff were so forthcoming. They came often to check up on us and we hardly had to wait to order food as well as recieve it.
I also love the fact that you can see them cooking it, since the kitchen area is open and in the middle. Our meals were delicious, the mocktails were delicious, everything was wonderful. Couldn't ask for more!! Would definitely recommend for a fun night out.

Lovely place ! I was fascinated by the beautiful lights and decorations in the restaurant and also the posters in the window are made beautifully 😍
The food is amazing 👏 and the staff are polite and friendly, In my humble opinion it's a great place to go out for a nice meal !
H. B.
Great food! I would recommend the Bangkok platter to share. It’s full of delicious starters. The guay tiew zaap was also delicious, with a perfect spicy balance and a beautiful hint of lime. The place itself is fun and colourful, full of small cute details.
S. Q.
Still a wonderful place to go for Thai food. There may be a queue which goes down quite quickly, but we'll worth the wait. Halal chicken too but plenty of meat alternative options
S. M.
really good food and the atmosphere is amazing 🍲👌 definitely coming back!
the ice cream could be better but the Thai curries were amazing ❤️
G. Y. T.
authentic thai food with lots of choices! lovely decor makes you feel like you are in thailand:)

Great delicious food, fast service and a gorgeous and interesting aesthetic venue

Amazing food and drink, great atmosphere, very friendly service - really feels like being in Thailand.
The slow cooked Pork Belly was incredible and the Pad Thai was really tasty.
Definitely will return.
Thank you Zaap team!
W.
Really good dinner with lots of food selection. Food was served really fast. Highly recommend green Thai milktea.
S. B.
Go-to Thai restaurant close to home, no.32 is the all time fav, price has gone up though, plus service charge, it started to become expensive for a quick meal
O. C.
Was very tasty Vegan Massaman - with plant chicken. Bao Tofu bun also. Only thing to let it down was the portion size -
Which stingy for the price you pay.
A. o. a. G. T.
Really fast service and getting the food out. Everything we tried was yummy. Would definitely recommend the spring rolls, batter banana dessert and the pork bao buns
m. C.
When you are going on after your meal it is reassuring to know the food will be amazing, freshly prepared and quickly served to table. The place looks and sounds busy and chaotic - just like a Thai street restaurant should look! 😀 Avoid the nearby NCP parking, the price will spoil your day.
J. C.
There were 3 of us, each ordered something different 2/3 dishes were great, one not so much so. The curry dish was great and the plant-based meat dish that was super tasty. The stir-fried noodle vegetable dish was uninspired.
M. C. D.
Such a large selection of amazing authentic Thai food.
The staff are so lovely! A special mention of our server Moo - she was such a day of sunshine!
Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Nottingham.
D. W.
I'm not a Thai-food person - usually mild-bland tasting stuff with boiled rice unless spiced up with fiery chilli's - but the place was interesting enough. People who like spicy/curried food should avoid unless prepared to crunch on raw chilli's. It was also pretty expensive for what I saw and ate off the plate... starter and main but not full on leaving.
D. C.
Amazing! The service was fast and friendly and the food was out of this world. We'll most certainly be returning for more!
D.
Nice food. I haven’t gave them 5 stars simply because I have noticed when they are busy in the restaurant the quality drops and the meal can be completely different but other than that it’s a nice place and having been Thailand I can really reminisce of my time spent in Thailand with some real Thai people!
D. B.
Best Thai Food I've had service good, food came in 20 minutes and was fantastic. Had sweet and sour chicken and sticky rice and duck with sticky rice
K. K. L. o.
Nice food , beautiful deco and quick service with reasonable price . I m happy with every visit x
C. V.
Went yesterday with my partner. Lovely food, fresh and tasty. It’s not the first time I go there and it won’t be my last. I always liked the whole atmosphere. Recommend it 👍🏻
M. &. K. D.
Well. The food was lovely. The staff over the top friendly. Very excited to have you dine in their restaurant. A great place to eat.
J. W.
Excellent food and decorations. Service is very good too and choices are vast and delicious
J. G.
Really enjoyed every minute 🥰food was just right xx 🥰 definitely recommend x
B. F.
Its OK, I left a little underwhelmed if I'm honest. The chicken was warmed up,and had the certain taste like when your mum warmed up your dinner in the oven back in the day. It's was supposed to be 3 chilli's hot and wasn't even very spicy.
d. m.
A huge amount of effort has gone into the interior design of this place and it really pays off. The decor is awesome, its setup to look like an authentic Thai street food market. Good selection of drinks including cocktails and wide variety of Thai street food.
G. G.
Incredible! A must visit. The food is amazing and I loved watching it get prepared. The prices are great too, excellent value. We will definitely be going back.
C. C.
All dishes and drinks are tasty. The restaurant is decorated like a Thai street, which makes us feel like being in Thailand!
M. C.
Super fast service and delicious food! Would recommend the Hoy Tod, red curry and green curry! But honestly anything you pick on the menu is amazing. If you get something spicy (which you will) the iced Thai milk tea is the best thing to cool you down so you can keep eating! But if you got a sweet tooth, have the iced coffee instead. Amazing atmosphere, you feel like you could be in Thailand 😍

If you're reading this review cause you are 50-50 whether you should come or not? THE ANSWER IS YES! I used to eat here as a student three years ago and decided to come again to revisit the memories. The steamed seabass, pad thai and green milk tea ARE THE BOMB! The food is even better than I remembered. Price is mid range, you get such a big portion and high quality Thai foods. Friendly staffs and lively space. Can't wait to come back to Nottingham again for another round!
R.
Really nice restaurant, friendly staff and the food was amazing
T. E.
Beautiful food great service definitely going again.
E. C.
Another delicious meal at zaap, I go once a month (at least) and it never disappoints. There's something for everyone.
A. F.
Love the street food internal decorations styles! Reminds me of good relaxing days in Thailand as a tourist. The food was great, with a good selection of options to choose from. Seafood items were fresh as well.
I.
The place is awesome! It’s like we are in Thailand by simply entering this place. The food is delicious - Try the gyozas, the pork ribs, the chicken ribs and some beef salad with beef in Soya sauce. It was delicious! And the staff is professional.
A. B.
Delicious food and fantastic atmosphere. The corncakes were one of my favorite things and others relished over the pork buns. Not only was the food great but the service was friendly and fast! Unfortunately it is a little on the small side inside the restaurant so I would definitely recommend calling ahead if you're coming with a large group.
c.
Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, incredibly friendly staff. Very highly recommended. I wanted a couple of changes to my order from the menu and there was no problem at all. Tofu was absolutely scrummy and the meat eaters were very happy with their choices too,all beautifully served. The sticky rice was amazing. Will definitely be coming here again.
W. h.
Cool and relaxed with great Thai food. Suitable for families, first dates, lunch you name it.
Staff are really friendly with great service, food is fresh and tasty! Prices are fair and not overly expensive.
If you've not been and love Thai food, make this your next stop.

Amazing ambience, food and service.

Lovely food, quick service, and lovely decoration as well. A lovely quirky place, been back here a few times and will always return.
P. M.
A really great experience, with absolutely delicious food, nice portions and fantastic atmosphere.
Went in a group and all had some of their cocktails, which were very nice.
Staff really friendly and fun. Could explain the Free WiFi, Free Smells sign though!
M. M. V.
The most authentic Thai food I've had outside Thailand - and that's coming from someone who's been on Thai cooking courses! Would highly recommend. Stick with the traditional Thai dishes and you can't go wrong. Delicious!
M.
Amazing food, clean and neat space.
Welcoming very polite staff. Excellent Service throughout👌🏽.

Made to look like you’re on the streets of Bangkok while eating makes the restaurant really stand out. Everything from the fantastic food (which is reasonably priced) to the imported beers some you’ll never have heard of, right through to sitting in your own converted Tuk-tuk. It just makes the whole dining experience that little bit more, unusual, interesting and entertaining.
It’s great to be able to see the kitchen and the chefs preparing your order fresh in front of you.
Ideal if your looking to make a night of it or just after a quick lunch.
Well worth a visit if you’re in Nottingham.
s. w.
The food is brilliant and very well priced. Good choice of drinks as well. Decor makes you feel like you are sitting in Bangkok. Great variety of food and staff is always helpful. The best place for Thai food in Nottingham!!
R. M.
Such an efficient restaurant. Despite it being a busy Friday night, we were seated and served quickly. The selection of dishes was fantastic, which is great for myself and my partner as we're both vegetarian. The servers were very friendly and we'll definitely be going back again next time we're in Nottingham!
B. M.
Great service, food and interior!
R. A.
This place looks incredible. When they say street food, they mean it! Staff is very friendly and the food is amazing.
L. C.
Tew took us to our seat and remembered our order off the top of his head just by the numbers! Really impressed with the service even during covid; took our temperature, plenty of hand sanitiser and test and trace. Even we came late, food came quick and hot, the other staff were really friendly too! Glad zaap thai is back open.
T. C.
Really good authentic Thai food. Probably the coolest interior of any restaurants I have been. 8f you have ever visited Thailand you will truly appreciate how good and authentic the food is! Very well priced also wish there was one in Coventry!!
A. P.
Great Thai Street hidden inside ! Authentic Tahi Cousine served street vendor arrangement, with half - opened storages, neons, rikshas, drying wash, bicycles and even front of train... magic place where you can easily imagine be just at Bangkok street.
Food served by Thai servant, happy to explain and advice menu, most with hot level choice to suit (or burn) your taste buds - and mean it, be careful and always order some beer or cider just in case 🥵
Food is delicious, fresh made in open kitchen on front of you, with best sea food in town - look for my tiger prawns, they massive and taste like heaven should 😇
All types of meat (we have seafood, chicken and pig ribs) tender and juicy. Vegs just enough to get worm.
Subtle dessert was a cherry on top.
Must be place for everyone who loves and appreciate asian cousine - and, BTW, they just been awarded for best asian restaurants in town 🙏
D. D.
An amazing experience, you are tranported to Thailand, with the authentic decor. The food is reasonably price, tasty freshly cooked to perfection, the portion size is extremely generous. It is sutable for those with disabilities, it has an accessible toilet, the staff are helpful and will move chairs and other obstacles without fuss.
R. N.
In terms of food, this place was excellent for value with large portions and excellent flavours. I would've liked it if there were an option to add more spice to the food as I felt it could have had more of a kick! The only reason they've lost a star because I thought the drinks were quite lacking, I had the mango juice and tried the coconut juice and thought both were too watery. Other than the beverages though, would definitely recommend this place!
G. F.
My 4th visit to this buzzing place. There's nothing not to like, from the ever smiling waiting staff to the food and surroundings, the place is a well priced and fun venue. You can't fail to notice that even on a quiet Monday, this place is full when many others are not, speaks volumes.
A. T.
Absolutely love this place. The food was delicious and the atmosphere buzzing.
D. C.
Really good Thai food in the centre of Nottingham. Price is reasonable and authentic flavours of the far east. Highly recommend the salted fish fried rice!
H. C.
The restaurant is simply amazing, and i felt like home in Asia with the staffs cooking right in front of you in the restaurant at the open kitchen (like many street food places in Asia/Thailand).. food was great, but slightly on the high side for the price. It may get very busy in weekends peak hours, so do come early than usual to avoid crowd
P. V.
Great atmosphere, great food. Having been to Thailand, it does feel like you been transferred to Khaosan Road Bangkok. Authentic Bangkok Street food. The chicken and duck are halal.
H. G.
Unbelievable. Best Thai I've had. Really nice staff. Great prices. Its a must visit. Hopefully I'll be back again soon!
T. D.
Wonderful ambiance..feels like you are seating in the middle of the streets of Thailand.. splendid food..loved their chicken thai green curry and pancake.. Highly recommended...

Love Zaap. Come here maybe once every 2 months for Thier massaman and cocktails. Food is always great, staff are friendly, and the cocktails are very boozy!
J. L.
Extensive menu, food was delicious, great service and good value. We took our kids who loved it. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Excellent! Great atmosphere, very speedy service, delicious food. Rammed at 1pm which is always a good sign. Very very good!!

Absolutely loved it! 3 courses and every one better than the last! Well worth the visit!
L. B.
Full of flavour. Fast, attentive service. Good vibe and some absolutely worldly food. No more needed in a place
A. A.
Best taste. Excellent aroma. Always liked here.
R. W.
Great atmosphere, smoke menu and great flavours are not display. A really nice take on the streetfood thing, helped by having an open kitchen for all to see. Don't worry if there's a queue. It's massive so people are coming and going constantly. Book if you want a big table.
P. I.
Went for a friend's birthday meal at lunch time in the week - the food was lovely and the service was quite quick. Not long to wait for the starters or the main course. Food was very nice, and great portion sizes! Lots and lots of classic Thai dishes, something everyone would like. 5/5 will go again.
E. T.
Good food in quality. The service was a bit slow. The amount of food was a bit small( might be my choice) . The quality was good and the combination of tastes were realy interesting 😋
H. H. L.
Finally got a table without queuing! We ordered their classic Pad Thai Bo Ran, Guay Tiew Rua and Moo Yang. The portion of the food are quite big compare to other Thai restaurant and their price is cheap. Additionally, they also give a 10% for student discount. Good dining atmosphere with great table service.
C. C.
Fantastic food. It's just like being in a Thai Street market. It's not a "dress up" place. You are best going casual. Food is served same. Definitely worth a visit!
D. A.
Our fave takeaway. Great vegan options. Never disappoints! Eaten in a few times too- great service and super cool interior. Thank you Zaap!
A. G.
Great decor, food fantastic, staff professional and friendly. Can't wait to go again. 5 stars is not enough!!

I love this place. Excellent food. Fair prices!!! always get the tomyum & mango sticky rice for desert :)) 10/10

If you want to try Thai street foods, this is a place to go!! The best Thai Restaurent in Nottingham!! I love most of their foods except noodle soup..
M. M.
Highly recommend this place! Great atmosphere, delicious food and quick & friendly service. Will definitely be back :)
K. M.
This place brings back memories. Took wife here. We both enjoyed the food. Had a red thai curry. Wife had massaman curry and veg platter. Food tasted amazing
S. H.
Amazing restaurant, visited for a company team dinner. Dish options are plenty for everyone's preferences. Customer service is great. Brilliant decor and market station Street reproduction is pretty cool.
D. T.
FAV restaurant in Nottingham!!!😻😻 highly recommend trying out the ‘Sa La Pao Moo Daeng’ which is the steamed buns and try out the ‘Larb Moo/Gai’ - which is like minced pork or chicken served on lettuce. SO SO yummy 👌🏼
R. A.
Amazing Thai food. Had to order more rice for my chicken dish as the ratio of chicken to rice is not equal. But other than that, yummy food and yummy desserts :)
a.
Place looks amamiazng, you can feel like in Thailand. Big menu with a lot of positions. Open kitchen, live cooking. Highly recommend.
J. C.
Where to start 😂😂 the food is tasty and reminds me of home. The staff are lovely & very on the ball & quick on their feet. Would definitely recommend
C. M.
Wonderful experience sitting in a tuk tuk, surrounded by Thai street-like decor, eating a gorgeous selection of dishes.
O. M.
Was not expecting much here after a few dud reviews from friends. But this place is pretty good!
I had the red Thai curry with noodles, it was fantastic!
The staff are friendly and helpful, the decor in the place is amazing, really feels cool inside.
Can't wait to get back!
A. S.
Great place for a quick meal, menu is really good. Atmosphere and decor adds to the experience
H. A.
I always go there for the roasted duck plate.. but this time we ordered 3 duck plates. It was hard to cut and chew with loads of fat in it... we didnot like it this time. But the fried chicken gioza was nice

1) Overall - ok environment, Thai cuisine, fast service but expect queue during peak hours, cute setup with tuk tuk and decorated like market, plenty of food choices offered by Zaap Thai Street Food Nottingham
2) Pad Thai tasted average
3) Tom Yam Soup was above average. it had the kick of spiciness but it was not too hot, so it was really pleasant to have
4) Som Tum was spiccccyyyy but loved the taste
5) milktea was the one of the best from the shop

The food at Zaap is always delicious. The staff is very polite. I have been there 3 times and everything was great every time!
S. K.
Excellent Thai food and amazing Thai street ambience. Good for groups. Will definitely return for more goodies!

The sticky rice was super delicious. I really enjoy and recommend it. However, the other menu (no 37) was not as delicious as I expected. For those who are not into spicy food, you should never try this one (no 37).
P. B.
Really good food and service. Extra spice, chillie can be added. The singha beer didn't taste so fresh though
T. B.
The staff were not only helpful but also entertaining.
The food was spectacular and very well priced.
As for the decor, they have done a great job here. Next time I'm in Nottingham I will certainly be visiting!
C. B.
Amazing food every time. One of my favourite places to go and always welcoming
c. S.
Fantastic place . live the atmosphere the food was delicious the service attentive and the decor fabulous , Real street food served in a real life like replica of Bangkok
R. K.
They serve scrumptious green curry. Never been to Thailand so could not validate the authenticity. Personally not very comfortable with the old fashion metal plate and seemingly aluminium bowl although it is one of the selling points of the restaurant. Waiters and waitresses were polite and helpful.

Outstanding internal finish, great look, tuktuk superb, all small details like 7/11 BKK atm signs, be at food, masaman curry stunning, tom yum very good.

Came here with 3 work colleagues - we were all very impressed!
The decor is great (tables and seats, but dressed out like a street food place, really quirky), very broad menu and great service.
The food itself was absolutely fantastic! I had the satay chicken skewers for starters and Thai red curry for main, both were incredibly tasty, and the other guys food all went down very well!
Will definitely come back next time I'm in Nottingham 👍👍👍
K. S.
I appreciated the lively atmosphere and lively surrounding fixtures. Bold colours everywhere and friendly service. Thai Ice Tea was delicious but very sweet, as you would expect (not the sweetest Thai ice tea I’ve had so fair enough). Had the platter to start, was alright, the star of the platter was the Thai fish cakes, delish’bish. Main dish was good, oddly laid out, but the taste was there and that’s the point right. All in all great place for some food you don’t usually get with some friends you should really meet up with more often

Very busy, but service was perfect. Loved to have separate vegetarian menu, also customised dish on request of dietary (without Onion and Garlic). Serving portion is brilliant.

This place is incredible! Authentic Thai street food that tastes out of this world. Highly recommend this place. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Can't wait till I go back again.

Good food genuine taste of Thai food

I looove the food! Would really come back! I love the ambiance as well!

Zaap Thai street food is a great Thai food place in Nottingham. Much bigger inside than it looks with lots of Thai culture on the walls and tables. The food is good and inexpensive and the service is friendly and fast
R. C.
Love this place! The decor is great, amazing food, super fast service, reasonably priced (although portion sizes have varied sometimes), good staff, wide range of choices for meat eaters and veggies, good drinks selection.
Have been here with between 1 and 10 people at a time, always leave impressed.
S. K.
Cracking venue for Street food Thai style. Always busy, so the food is always fresh. Reasonable prices, great easy going atmosphere. Can't book, so just turn up.
D. P.
Good service and authentic Thai and isaan food. One complaint would be not spicy enough.
J. T.
One of the best places I've eaten at. The interior was amazing! And the food tasted so good.

Great food, great food choice.
Very noisy but great atmosphere

Great quirky restaurant. Food was very good. Reasonably priced. Fast service. Staff member seemed a little rude when we asked a few questions.
J. W.
A lively city centre that restaurant. Service was good. Price was reasonable. Although, I've had better Thai food, it was good and nothing to complain about. I would return.

One of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham, food is so delicious and the service is very quick. Decor is very unique and a great vibe.

One of the best places to have Thai food in Nottingham. The ambience is resemblance of Thai streets and thai street shopping. You can have lot of varieties from starters, curries with choice of rice or noodles. I am not sure about vegetarian options but the meat dishes are really tasty. This place is usually busy in regular lunch and dinner times.
L. C.
Excellent choice of Thai cuisine, all very well prepared and cooked into a delicious meal. Student discount throughout the week is an added bonus too!
A. T.
Great atmosphere, delicious authentic food. Deffo recommend and will return again!
T. P.
Nice food, ok service. Not overly great if you're gluten free as staff weren't too confident. Had to ask a few times about my dish but overall was good. Thai green curry.
D. J. L.
Surprisingly good! As a frequent traveller to Thailand and having lived in South East Asia for nearly a decade, it's really difficult to find 'good' authentic Thai food in England. Zaap Thai has managed to beat my expectations and the food is great. The atmosphere even better, with friendly staff. Will definitely visit again!
l. P.
Amazing place. Fabulously decorated.
Great food and really good portions. We all ordered something different and all loved what we had.
The Thai ice coffee was very good.
Just wish it was closer to home as we would be regulars!

We came here yesterday as a group of 10 we waited at the waiting area to order drinks and a lady politely took us to our table. We were then greeted by another lady who had such a rude tone We asked if we could have glass noodles with the moo yor and she looked very unimpressed so we said oh it doesn't matter leave the glass noodles. When we ordered she shouted "Give me the number!" When we finished ordering she commented, Wow you guys ordered a lot you're probably not going to finish it haha. Then 1 of my friend jokingly said oh don't worry these lot eat a lot. Again the look on her face wasn't impressed. The foods came out and delicious as always and we ate it all. We wanted another drink and we tried to get the waitress attention and she goes what do you want? I never felt unwelcome and uncomfortable to be there when the waitress doesn't seem to want to serve us. We then ordered dessert which she commented are you not full? You've eaten all that food and now you want dessert? The bill came and there was a 20% service charge which I've read up that 4 or more there will be a service charge but at least serve us with some respect! It's a shame as I really love the food but can't believe how rude your staff can be.
A. M. R.
Best thai food I had. A bit expensive but totally worth it.
l.
Cheap in price of the set lunch with starter, main and dessert
But the dessert was not my cup of tea

Our food arrived fast and the service is excellent. The place was packed and we were a bit hurried out the door with the bill etc. Not a place to relax and chill but more for the ambiance and the food.
A. M.
Great place with reasonably priced food.
N. N.
Amazing food, authentic decor and flavours which I thoroughly enjoyed. Steaming hot, salty edamame and gorgeous dimsum to start with a large glass of Malbec to wash them down whilst waiting for my main. Event though this place is clearly very popular I didn't feel rushed and my main course arrived very quickly. My Thai red curry arrived with sticky rice on the side and beautifully prepared veges cut just as you'd expect in Thailand. The unique flavours reply hit home and my tastebuds as it was lovely and spicy.
You can alter the spiciness if you don't like any sort of burn in your mouth when you order based on their chilli menu ordering system.
I have very much enjoyed my dining experience and watched the open kitchen preparing everyone's meals. The aromas floating around the restaurant are absolutely fabulous.
You must visit this unique dining experience.
S. K. S.
Wonderful ambiance. Excellent service and amazing food
E. G.
Customer service is good. I liked my food but my partner was disappointed. She bought a vegetarian noodle dish. It came on a bed of lettuce and had cherry tomatoes. Neither of which are served in Thailand. I would definitely go again though.
M. H.
Absolutely best Thai food I've ever had. Great atmosphere also.
G. P.
Absolutely amazing food great customer service definitely return again
B. D.
Unique atmosphere which is designed to look like a street market in Thailand. Usually places with gimmicky interior like this might lack in food quality but this place does not. Great selection of food, fast service. The iced macha tea is so yummy! As if the hot pot that you can share with a group.
B. S.
Fantastic food and really quirky place not to be missed excellent tasting food free popcorn and free water would return without hesitation in recommending
H. W.
Quirky Thai restaurant in Nottingham city centre with amazing food. Interior is good fun with tuk tuk booths and a full size train mock up. They don’t take reservations but service is prompt and friendly.
R. P.
The food was okay, pretty decent service
C. H.
Another recommendation of a place I'd never heard of. I'm happy to say it was a great recommendation. We filled our table with food to the point where I thought we'd need a bigger table, and we ate and loved all of it. The look of the restaurant is awesome and the staff were superb. I've found out there's a few of these so will be back
J. M.
The thai omlette is one of the most delicious dishes I have ever tasted.
B. M.
Great food and atmosphere
C. C.
Love this place, honestly feel like being back on the street of thailand! The food is to die for, best authentic thai but has some tamed options to accommodate all. Been several times and will be back!
A. S.
Fantastic Thai restaurant with authentic food! Try the chicken skewers with the peanut sauce as a starter. Main, go for Gang Penang curry and dessert, you won't regret this, go for the green pancake. The green pancake looks strange but tastes amazing, the mango rice as a dessert isn't bad either.
If you're feeling really hungry and enjoy spicy food, go for a Tom Yum soup on the side
P. H.
Fun and colourful decor emulating a Thai railway market complete with train and tuk tuks! Good range of Thai street foods. Papaya salad is fantastic, the other foods however can be a little bland.
S. G.
Lovely Thai street food, with a quirky Bangkok setting inside the resturant. Especially try the tasty Thai green curry. Friendly staff whom also did a birthday cake with candle and entertainment. Reasonably priced 4 adults and 1 child £53. Bargin and a must to try 😁🎖
H. b.
Really enjoyed the food, great decor and friendly staff
D. P.
Great food and very authentic atmosphere. Try out the Thai iced tea! You won't be disappointed
M.
Can't fault the food or service. Bang Bang red curry is amazing paired with a Lychee iced tea.
E. B.
Really cool place with a great atmosphere and awesome decor. The food was super tasty, quick and fresh with really friendly staff! Highly recommend.
T. B.
You can really feel like being in the Thai Street. The decoration is astonishing, I have never been in such a place. Food is good though the quantity could be a bit more.
T. B. J.
Simple authentic Thai dishes. I was worried it might be gimmicky but the kitsch decor really took me back to Phuket. Fun. Great service. I'd love one to open up in London.
T.
Absolutely delicious Thai Food! Reminds me of when I lived in Thailand.
R. G.
Absolutely delicious food and friendly service, will be back.
c. h.
Excellent. We went to Nottingham to see a concert, my son found this place on the Internet. As he is half Thai we had to give it a go.
We have given eating at Thai restaurants in Essex, nothing really hit the mark. They are not bad just not what we expect.
Zaap was delicious, it was the closest tasting Thai food we have experienced outside of Thailand.
When living in Thailand my go to dish was spicy basil pork, so when I go to a new Thai restaurant I ask for this. Most have different take on it, some are not good some are fair but Zaap nearly nailed it. I say nearly nailed as I would have preferred more basil, delicious though.
We went back several times during our stay every dish was delicious and great staff.
Because of the great tasting food I now find myself in a tricky situation. As I said earlier I lived in Thailand (Sukhothai) for some time and from time to time I would drive 3 hours to Chiang Mai for a half decent steak and dare I say it a McDonalds. Now back in the UK I am going to have to drive 3 hours for decent Thai food. My son has already request we go next month for his birthday.
Good job and well done to all the staff.
H. R.
Amazing experience, quick service and great value
K. M.
Excellent food! The service is fast and everything was amazing!
Be careful when it says 'spicy' it is SPICY :D (dish number 33 in the picture)
T.
Always a great place for a tasty treat! The decor and atmosphere at Zaap is amazing and the food is to die for - will definitely be coming back time and time again. Completely recommended for a quick bite or a special meal (ask for a tuk-tuk!).
R. C.
Great ambience and very tasty food. Have to go again on next visit to Nottingham
C. L. M. W.
BEST THAI FOOD I TRIED IN UK! Rice noodle were so delicious and the soup was nice. Friendly staff and nice environment here.
L. D.
Thai Street food, wow a tasty experience. The desert dumplings and custard are a must for a sweet tooth. The internal decoration and props add to the feel, well worth a return trip.
B. S.
Food was good but the service was terrible. Couldn't order more drinks.
J. S.
Tasty interesting food, great service in an enthralling environment.
t. h.
One of the best places to eat in Nottingham, super fresh and full of flavour.
R. W.
Great food, great service.
Will definitely be going back.
A. W.
Affordable and amazing high quality Thai food just on the outskirts of the city centre. Staff are great and helped in recommending dishes which were all delicious.
Definitely recommend the Thai Milk Tea ❤️
Y. P.
tbh i think zaap thai is the best thai restaurant in notts
J. P.
Great experience with great food, try and grab a tuk tuk if possible as a booth
N. P.
Felt like being back in Thailand (except the price). Delicious food, great choice, friendly service, great decor. Will definitely visit again. Want to try everything on the menu.
I. M.
It felt like i was in the Khao San Road again. Staff were fast, and friendly. Food was awesome. Spicy, fresh, tasty. Som Tam rocks. This was all that was left. I was sad to leave it.
L. B.
Best panang curry I've ever had & I've been to Thailand. Lovely friendly staff and quick service. Really liked the bubble tea too which was a first for me! I wish I lived local because I would 100% return.
Y. H.
Great atmosphere and decoration. Food was hit and miss: Pad thai was brilliant, tom yum soup was underwhelming. Would still recommend overall.
P. B.
Excellent food in a interesting place! Nice choice to eat.
J. W.
Good value, generous portions but not the best food
Everything we had was "ok". Had much more vibrant flavoured Thai food elsewhere
A. C.
Absolutely exquisite food and great staff.
C. H.
Authentic Thai Street Food. Great atmosphere and cheerful staff. Dine in a Tuk-Tuk and watch the kitchen in operation.
K. P.
Overall this place was good. The setup of COVID measures when entering is good. The place itself looks fantastic, and as if you're in Thailand restaurant itself!
Food was average im afraid, nothing special. Recommendations would be good, and having more staff to attend to customer needs would be highly advantageous! I felt I had to keep calling over the staff as they kept on missing items when delivering drinks / food to our table. (Such as plates, cutlery, or glasses).
I also felt the food wasn't as described and ordering two of the same dishes was different? I would go again to see if I just went on a bad day, and try something else. But I would travel to that location just to go to this restaurant.
L. S.
Amazing food, great beer. Squid was done brilliantly and not ridiculously spicy!
D. G.
Great prices here, a meal and couple of drinks for two for around 30 quid, freshly cooked in a street market style restaurant. A must for us whenever in the city.
J. D.
Authentic Thai food in an authentic environment, complete with hawker market style kitchen and famous Maeklong railway market decor
I. G.
Amazing food. Great quality, super fast. Will go there again
M. B.
Tasty food and well priced. Cocktails as well! Eat in a tuk tuk!
R. w.
Wonderful food ,service & surroundings go see this restaurant we will definitely be returning
M. V.
Really fantastic place to go for some great Thai food. Kids loved it and the service was good too. Great atmosphere here so we'll be back.
M. H.
Very friendly waitress and decent value for money. The food was far better than I was expecting although not completely authentic it still tasted great. Eating in is a fun experience as there is a great atmosphere and decor inside. The quality of the food does not hold up as well with delivery so would recommend dining in if possible.
M. L. K.
Yummy Thai food!
N. S.
Very tasty food and cool décor but staff was not very attentive.
v.
Good food, nice original streetfood vibe inside the restaurant
J.
Quality food, need to go back to sample more of the menu
H. J. M.
One evening somewhere in Thailand. The most cool thai place I’ve been to. Go for Panang curry or Pad Thai noodles, both with chicken. And Singha. Soooo good! 😊👍🇹🇭
T. R.
Love zaap it's just like the streets in Thailand share platter and chang beer is a must !!
A. B.
I’ve been a few times and normally it’s very good but last night was disappointing , food was average, small portions (especially the so called sharing platter) and staff wanted to rush us through as quickly as possible.
A. M.
Great decor and atmosphere. Good food and drinks and quick service (food is annoyingly faster than drinks).
Bill mounts up quickly if you go for a tapas style meal. You have been warned.
K. H.
Pre concert meal. Friendly efficient service. Food was incredible. Will definitely be going back.
M. L. (.
As ever everything expected out of a street food oriented style of restaurant. Food is delicious.
Y. Y.
I might say that this is one of the best Thai food I get in UK. That's a lot as I lived in Bangkok for years.
It might not be as spicy as I wanted it to be but everything was great. Sad that I wasn't able to get the som tam salad as it was out of order.
A. T.
It’s the second time we visit Nottingham and the second time we go here! Beautiful atmosphere, waitresses very kind. And of course nice food!
L. R. F.
Very tasty. Good efficient table service
J. C.
Authentic, taste, fresh, huge menu, fast service and relatively cheap...
They should get rid of those hard rustic chairs in the front section, not comfy.
A. A.
Food is as nice (if not better) as it sounds! Dishes were served quickly after ordering and staff were very frIendly. Almost feels like you've been transported to Bangkok!
B.
Great food, great and really friendly staff, both food and drinks came out very quickly. Can't wait to go again
B. H.
Great food, interesting environment., reasonably priced, only not five stars because server was a bit short with us when we needed more time to understand menu
A. J.
Amazing, authentic food, great atmosphere and lovely staff
T.
Been here a number of times and the food has always been amazing. The Larb Pork and Papaya salad are my firm favourites. Having spent a number of years living in Thailand it’s great to be able to get authentic Thai dishes at a reasonable price. Staff are always very friendly too.
H. C.
Great atmosphere and very bright and lively. It had the same aura that you would get from a proper street based within the Far East. The service was very quick and friendly and there was a quiet large number of tables which made it easy for us to sit comfortably. The location was a little confusing as it’s located round a building which had construction going on, and there food it self is good, but falls short of what the actual dishes are meant to taste like. If your after a great night but not so bothered about the food then go for it, but if your expecting amazing food you may not get that entirely. Overall I would recommend it if your after a taste of the atmosphere!
L. d. S.
Our favourite Thai restaurant in Nottingham. Wonderful flavours and a variety of options. Just a pity we cannot visit the very authentic replica setting in person, during Covid but we have take away!
V. N.
Very tasty food. Funky and fun decor. Respectable prices. I love that the kitchen is open so customers can watch their food being prepared as if you're actually on the streets of Thailand. I would go again!
M. B.
The food is absolute quality service is great staff are very friendly and helpful, decor great.
J. B.
Fabulous atmosphere, loads of character too. Food was top notch and there was a good selection of traditional and fresh new flavours. I had the black jelly for pudding, it was bizarre but strangely nice. It tasted of fabric conditioner. Staff cleared plates before everyone had finished and I was told to go and get my own water when it was plain to see that I was unable to get out of my chair without moving a people as the space was tight.
T. S.
Excellent place. Absolutely amazing food and service. Highly recommended. Perfect
D. W.
First time visit here , food was great & too much favorite. we’re enjoyed it.
There's a sense of being in Thailand....Cool
BUT ~ Waitress's attitude needs to be strengthened.
( Don't TOUCH when people in eating. In a case of disease prevention and control.)
S. G.
Went here with my grandchildren. Young atmosphere I can see why they like it. Good food and good prices.
a. a.
Thai food is my favourite so had to give This place a try . Fab atmosphere, authentic interior but unfortunately the toilets were too Authentic! No roll & dirty .
We had the Thai sharing platter all good except the chicken satay was worst I have ever had .
I think it was the quality of the chicken which was rubbery .
Then we had Thai beef massaman curry the sauce was FAB but again beef quality poor .
Overall 4 stars for the good bits to food & the atmosphere & environment.
Not the best Thai food I’ve eaten but a good try .
B. J.
Wonderful food choice and food! The staff are friendly and smiley without being a hassle, which is a big plus. I've been a couple of times now with two children, one 4yo and my 18mth and both times we've been welcomed.
Food has come in good time, even when it seemed busy.
Good prices, good food and food atmosphere. A all round winner for me.
D. H.
Genuinely one of the coolest places to eat in all of Nottingham right now, amazing food, amazing staff and amazing decor, we tricked family and friends in to thinking we were really in Thailand!
S. B.
Great food as always that keeps me coming back for more! Still so much on the menu I've not yet tried but will work my way through eventually.
S. K.
Great Thai food with a nice Thai decode. Service is also good.
J.
Love this place. Have been various times now. The food is so good. They have so many options, including loads of veggie options. The setting of the place is fab. It feels like you’ve stepped into a different place. Really recommend
W. M.
We visited as a family of four on a Sunday evening. Great setting and service was very good. I can’t comment on how authentic the food was but we all enjoyed our meals. I went for the traditional papaya salad and was a bit disappointed in how spicy it was (or rather wasn’t). Prices are very reasonable and this is targeted more towards the student population of Nottingham. We would visit again but not before trying some other Thai venues in town.
J.
Amazing experience, great food for a great price. Lovely interior design. Overall couldn't fault it.
S. B.
Quick food freshly cooked... and VERY delicious. The staff are great fun, the place is funky.... worth a visit. We had 2 courses for £10, cocktails were also 2 4 £10 so worked out very nice indeed.
A. S.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and friendly staff.
M. N.
Nice décor and great food that's trying to stay authentic. The prices and portions are very reasonable.
The food can be slightly greasy and also very salty. I find the service too be too slow and not attentive enough. You can easily wait 15 minutes to half an hour to order.
The spiciest dishes are spicy but not as spicy as I would expect. I think they have been adjusted to British taste.
G. G.
Great good with a nice atmosphere. Good for big groups. Not expensive.
A. G.
Great atmosphere, got very busy which is always a good sign. Love the way it is all set out, a fantastic representation of a side street in Bangkok. However, although the good was nice, it didn't taste particularly authentic. On top of that, the food that was presented to me wasn't what I asked for and when it was rectified it was brought to me in a takeaway bag so I had to wait further for it to be re-plated. 🙄.
If I was rating purely on the food and its authenticity, it might have been less stars but for overall experience it scores higher. 👍
A. I.
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing!! Whoever designed the place did a stellar job, it really did feel like you were in the street food markets in Bangkok! The portions were also quite big and they also do bubble tea. Really great service and food, would definitely recommend!
M. L.
Excellent service, good prices. Not sure on the Phad Thai being so sweet? Seemed to be loaded with too much sugar? Other that very nice
C. -. (.
Had a great dining experience here while in Nottingham for a gig. Loved the Thai street setting and the atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and always seemed to have a smile. The food was fantastic. Full of flavour and you could tell everything was nice n fresh. The fact that you could see all the cooking going on was also appealing. Very reasonable in price too. Highly recommend this place as a great eating experience
M. G.
Amazing food as authentic as it gets! Me & my girls had a great great time.
Z. P.
The service was excellent, we ordered several drinks and the longest we waited for them was 2mins. Food was delicious and great selection of vegan options available.
N. B.
This is a wonderful Thai restaurant near the city center. The food and price are both great, from a vast selection of dishes and drinks, to deserts and snacks. The service tries to be as helpful as possible, although it's difficult because every time I have been into this establishment, it is packed full of people. Despite this, the hosts and waitstaff are prompt and helpful.
The food is authentic, just slight adjustments to cater to the English audience. Their extra spicy didn't seem anywhere near as hot as traditional Thai food. All of the staff I've spoken to was Thai, and the interior design is fun. This is a loud restaurant however, and is more of a social spot than a romantic sit down evening.
N. B.
Excellent Thai food, at a very good price. The staff are friendly, and willing to accommodate requests, as well as explain what each of the items on the menu are. The spicy food is definitely spicy, but they will try and tone it down if you ask, but beware if you simply order as-is! It's also bigger than it looks on the outside, so if it seems busy, there are also lots of tables further inside, so I've never had to wait very long for a table even if it's looked very busy. Great place to grab a cheap bite to eat!
K.
Service was fast and efficient, however bar staff got our order wrong and spent a long time working out the price - one calculator between 8 staff! Delicious cocktails. A very busy and loud atmosphere with limited space, back to back with the people behind us. Lovely decor. Food was okay but nothing special. If you're in Nottingham try Thaikhun instead or really splash out at Tarn Thai, a bit more pricey but well worth it for the quality of the food.
P. G.
Interesting decor making an attempt to put you in Bangkok. Wide choice of small plates, lots of seafood. Some decent vegetarian options. Rapid service. £ ok but soon adds up if you want a decent sized meal with a drink. £15-20 pp (2 courses with soft drinks). Worth the experience - I will have the occasional visit.
R. C.
Proper fast food.might need a Thai person with you as no pictures but it is in English
S. P.
The place is very well decorated, like an authentic Thai street. We had a Platter each , but it wasn't enough so we had a Duck dish too. The fried items and sauces were very good, instead the meats were a bit dry and overcooked. Reasonably priced, so good overall. Not recommended for date... too noisy and smelly.
A. b.
Wonderful selection of tasty food and great environment, I'd definitely recommend to others and visit again.
R. M.
It has a really nice atmosphere and the decor is amazing! They've clearly spent a lot of time designing the place - to give it an authentic look. The tables aren't too close together. The staff are really attentive and friendly.
The food arrived quick and for the whole table - so no one had to wait while everyone else ate. They have a lot of options to choose from and everyone enjoyed what they had.
Overall, a nice place for different occasions. I would definitely recommend them.
A. B.
Oh wow!! This place is incredible, what an atmosphere!! They've put so much effort into the ambience and it works, people eating in tuktuks, loads of signs and a busy bustling kitchen. Food is amazing too, the pork skewers were delicious and prawn dumplings delicately tasty. We both had fried noodle mains which did not disappoint. An absolute gem.
M. C.
Very interesting set up and deco. Open kitchen reminds me of street vendors back home. Certainly adds to the experience. Food was very authentic and full of flavour. You need to know what to order though. A little pricey but worth it. Parking around the side streets not easy.
N. L.
Fast service, friendly staff, I had the green curry and lod chong thai dessert and left feeling very satisfied
P. C.
Came on Thursday 2nd September with my husband & daughter for a meal after our daughters graduation,we really enjoy the meal & cocktails,we will be back 🙂
P. S.
Great fresh food great flavours and a good sensible portion. Cant wait to try something else on return. Thank you to all the staff and chefs.
M. C.
Lovely food and staff are welcoming
l. c.
Good covid safety in place food was brilliant having been to Thailand many times this was on par with their food.
V. P.
Incredibly tasty and as close to real authentic Thai as it can get in the UK. Fantastic atmosphere and props add to the Thai overall mood of the place! Decor, staff, drinks all in all fabulous. Extra chillies if you wish to spicy it up even more. We'll be back!!!
R. L. U.
This is one of my all time favourite places to eat in Nottingham. I eat there quite regularly but that is no where near enough! Food is tasty and quick! Service is good and the decor is fun. Best Pad See Ew I've had outside Thailand and the sticky rice with mango is so so good. Go now!
T. D.
Amazing venue, top marks for restaurant design. Food was nice enough, but not outstanding. I only had a plate of noodles at lunch, which was a little one dimensional, but perfectly acceptable. As others have said, it’s not really street food, it’s a restaurant and commands restaurant prices. The staff were very friendly however.
C. Ó. C.
Zaap is a fun spot. Really interesting and certainly unique street food decor interior. The food is authentic with lovely waiting staff. CAN be overpriced in parts of the menu but for the most part worth checking out if you like Thai food. Book if you head Thursday to Sunday. Like all good spots, it’s popular!!
F. J.
Always had great food here. It's perfect if you're short on time and want a quick bite, but equally as good if you want to take a bit longer and enjoy a few courses. We have taken many visitors to this as it's a great talking point. The kids love the train too.
J. B.
There is a really great atmosphere which is accompanied by a great attitude from the staff. There is a nice Thai theme throughout, helping to give a real authentic vibe.
You will have difficulty choosing your food as there is so much choice on the menu, not a bad thing. There is a nice range of spicy dishes, ranging from no spice all the way to face felting heat, covering everyone's preference. Dishes are made to order so if you want to make an adjustment, just ask.
This place has left a great first impression and we will certainly be coming back.
C. H.
Always excellent, find the food very authentic to Thailand overall great meal
S. M.
Food was OK at best and awful at worst.. Vegetarian platter was awful
H. D.
Sing loudly with a group and musical instruments for birthday. Was nice.
Good food. And was nice as a work do. Good service. Food came relatively fast from ordering. Nice decor inside. Has veggie options lots of tofu and veg. Spice levels decent.
Didnt try desserts this time
p. H.
Food was mediocre, and the portions were small, but the restaurant was fun to be at, you can eat in a tuk tuk and there are Thai themed decorations.
P. K.
Excellent options of food and they customise based on your need. Always liked the chicken fried rice with coconut water. Definitely worth visiting.
D. w.
If you love true Thai food in Thailand this is the place. the hustle and bustle and proper authentic decor really makes this restaurant feel like you are in Bangkok. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food isn't the best but still really nice (Tharn Thai is nicer)
M. c.
WOW!!! Can't recommend this place enough. Food was 5 star, service was 5 star and drinks were 5 star. 15 out of 5 stars ain't bad. Can't wait to go back.
F. H.
Extensive menu, but the food is delicious. Everything seems fresh and its and open kitchen so I'm not surprised. The decor is very unique and interesting. Service is also good and food comes out reasonably fast.
T. M.
Good fun, shame the waitress wasn't listening and got the order wrong twice, once with starter and then with a main. To be fair they swapped the main without hassle but it took the shine off a birthday treat a little.
My kids had a great fun entertaining people from the tram car.
Nearly 4 stars, listen better next time. 🤔😉
S. F.
Great staff service and good food. What else can we ask fo
S. T.
Its so beautiful.. you walk in and this nostalgic feeling hits you like you in one of the food markets in Thailand.. even the atmosphere is really great! The food has had some adjustments a bit i suppose to suit the english, would have loved more of that authentic original taste.. but still did not faze me.. woukd def go back again..Loved it..
E. R.
First time trying Thai food and it was a great experience. Really tasty and the service was quick. If you're not too good with really spicy food though make sure you ask for it to be less spicy! All the spicy dishes automatically come with a three chilli rating so if you don't like it too spicy ask for it to be toned down. I took mine from a three to a two and it was still a bit too much for me!
S. P. O.
Amazing food. Great decor. Definitely shall go back. From the smiling waitresses to the piping hot food with superb portion sizes and most importantly correct spices. Nothing to complain about. Only it was really busy but never were we pestered around to spend more and never made to feel that we need to rush. High street restaurants must learn a few tips from them
D. M.
We went to Zaap in York during our holiday last month. It was very good experience. All staff were so helpful with excellent service. Food were brilliant with so many choices which made it different from the other Thai restaurants. We'll definitely go back again
A. W.
Very good Thai street food.
Possibly the best I have tasted outside of Thailand itself.
Would have given it a 5 star but had to wait a little longer than expected for food and also the deal they had on was only for meat eaters, so they could make it available for vegetarians too.
But quality of food wise. Very tasty.
H. S.
Service has improved remarkably since my last visit in 2019.
E. H.
Fast and tasty food, great with allergens . Highly recommended
C. E.
Asian street food, it's quick and easy, the food is served in a timely manner, and at a good price. The interior is amazing, as if in an Asian side street. However, the food was a little bland, still tasty but it could have had more spice or sour or sweet. I would still try more on the menu.
L. P. P.
Was expecting something bit better. The place is great, always full of people, and you also have to wait to get a table (can't book).
Ordered few plates of food, average, and the reason I am giving 3 stars only is because the pad Thai I had was so sweet (and I know how sweet a pad Thai is) that I struggled to finish it.
Can't judge other mains because after that didn't have more food
C. S.
Had a great date with my wife with some wonderful food! Thank you!
A. T.
delicious food, my husband and i very much enjoyed. Service was friendly and quick.
F. C.
Absolute amazing food , atmosphere of being in Thai streets really makes the food, great prices, good portions of food, love that you can just wander in without having to have reserved a table. Food prepared in front of the customers and tasted very good and food was very varied. Also has self serving water table which was nice.
t. t.
I'd been wanting to go to this restaurant for ages so today we went for lunch. The food was very tasty and piping hot, service was very quick and efficient. The decor was excellent, it really felt like you were in Thailand. Staff were very friendly. Also very reasonably priced. Looking forward to going back again.
U. E.
Great service. Not one bad thing to say about the food. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The waiting time for food is quick once you are already seated. There is often a queue outside. But I'd say it's worth the wait. Great authentic Thai food and also very cheap.
D. E.
some of the best Thai food outside of Thailand
K. B.
Tasty food, lovely polite staff. Speedy and all round good.
J. S.
Great menu and ambiance but every single veggie or vegan dish contained soya. I was left with no choice than to accept 3 days of side effects. Please make a non tofu vegan dish for each of your ones with tofu.
N. W.
Food was deliciously good! Service was great and the atmosphere was perfect, as we could reminisce over our holiday to Thailand many years ago. As a family we loved it, especially our 6 year old little boy.
R. K.
The place has opened as per new covid guidance..safe distancing because of table layouts and barriers between tables. The food remains amazing and tasty as before. Portion sizes have reduced though band prices hiked a bit. Still, highly recommended
Z. L.
Fast service, food was alright. Our server was very friendly. Lovely decorations inside.
S. K.
Excellent food, by far the best Thai food in town. We’ve been to Thai many times and the food here really is great!
Hence, still 5 stars!
However, the staff sometimes is pretty unfriendly and even argues with you if they brought the wrong food. They do have an Asian mentality, but I would recommend improving the service!

Something different here.
Inside this place, they have decorated it to look like a Thai street scene. It adds interest to the surroundings and creates a great atmosphere.
The food is good honest Street food style. No fancy presentation but a huge menu to choose from.
Some of our party had fish which seemed to go down especially well.

Yummy food and friendly staff. I dig the tuktuk seating arrangement and crazy stuff on the wall. Massive menu means you have access to anything you could want. They happily made the papaya salad vegetarian for me. Good place for kiddos too.

Food is great and the place looks great. Only reason I'm taking a star away was down to one of the waitress was being a bit rude when taking our order but the rest of the staff were great and I would definitely recommend this place for an authentic thai experience!

A real visual treat and great atmosphere. Cocktails were really good. Didnt have to wait even on Saturday. But, food was not so good for me, the sharing platter was not freshly cooked. The main course was disappointing, bland and salty and arrived too soon. Order was wrong. I felt rushed.

Food was amazing really good plant based options so give it a try

Went there with a couple of friends for my birthday. Thankfully I had made a booking earlier on the day to avoid disappointment. The food was succulent and it was great value for money, as would repeat my friends. The only little turn-off was when we were asked to leave the table once we were done due to customers’ queuing. Anyway hope to visit it again when I’ll have Thai food urges!
E.
Amazing food!! it's like stepping into Thailand.. Great staff.. Great birthday sing song.. Great atmosphere. I've Been there about 4 times since November for my friends and family members for their birthday treat. Can't knock it.

Food here is amazing! I used to eat here 2/3 times a week the only issue i ever had was the food being different levels of hot every time once we ordered it and the food was way to hot others not hot enough! But the actual taste and quality of the food was amazing and there starters are to die for definitely 4/5 great value for money as well

Zaap tries to be an authentic Thai street experience. Obviously, as it is not a street in Thailand, there will be a certain amount of kitsch. However it does manage to create a certain street appeal. You can eat your dinner at a tuk tuk table (if you're lucky!) The decor is creative and serves as adequate distraction while waiting for your food. The menu has loads of variety though most of the descriptions are lost in translation so you are largely choosing blind unless you can read Thai. Service is quick and the staff are very friendly. The food was tasty. At busy times you might have to queue for a table...and people generally do as the turn-around time is low. Don't expect a three-hour banquet it's street food after all.

Great Thai restaurant, would absolutely recommend.
Very large selection of food, starters, mains, sides etc, all conveniently numbered if you have a chronic fear of butchering the pronunciation.
The food itself was lovely. Portion size was good for me, although some of my friends were keen to get extra sides along with it. Again, everyone had options.
If you have picky kids then I might advise you away from here, there's no safe bet kids options to fall back on that I could see, but that's not what this place is. Would definitely recommend.
(Edited because of some typos)

Food is to die for, and the staff are very attentive

Have to commend the dedication to the aesthetic they've worked up; the restaurant has the atmosphere of a bustling Thai street, and the food is of an excellent quality, served quickly and without fuss. Their offers are great for students too!

Great food, fantastic atmosphere, you can feel like at Khao San Road in Bangkok for a moment ;)
K. S.
The food was excellent, been twice now and tried different foods each time and both times it was excellent, has a good waitress and one a little bit frosty, can't wait to go again as my daughter is at uni there

One of a kind. Fast service. Excellent seating arrangements. Perfect views. Staff very efficient. Very nice place to dine. Taste of food is just like in thailand. Its so nice. Dont know how they get the taste right its just perfect!! Keep up the good service. Thank you alot
A. R.
Great and quirky place to eat. Casual wear. Very buisy on a Wednesday evening. The staff accomadate me in my wheelchair and they had good restroom facilities that were accessible. Getting to the table was a bit of a squeeze. The food was very good and the prices middle of the road. Generous portion size full of flavour. Really enjoyed reading the funky menu. Will go hear again for sure.
H.
Really busy which is always a good sign, especially when it's a bit out of the way. Food was good, my fish could have been more flavoursome, but that's not a critique of the food, I chose Garlic to go with it instead of Chilli. So if you like your food strong, go for the chilli option when offered a choice. Great service, and it looks amazing inside too. I.would recommend.

The food here is absolutely excellent and, whilst it obviously isn't a Thai street market, the food is fairly authentic and it does make a good stab at creating the right kind of atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and thoughtful - they asked if we wanted to move tables away from a group of lads who were swearing so my daughter wouldn't hear it. Absolutely brilliant.
C. C.
Great food at a fast pace in beautiful decor. Slightly expensive and sometimes the service isn't perfect, but worth visiting if you are a Thai food fan!
M. G.
The food tasted delicious although it looked quite greasy. Our waitress didn't really feel like smiling much and should be taught how classless and rude it is to clear plates away while other guests are still eating!
G. C. (.
Affordable delicious Thai food! One of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham. The only reason for 4 stars is the occasional rude or un attentive staff member. But apart from that it has a amazing and unique interior that goes great with the food.
V. H.
It was great to see so many Thai people eating here, you know that they must be getting it right. The food was excellent and the service pretty quick. If I'm in the area again I will definitely try to go back.
C. H.
Went here on a recommendation. We loved it. The atmosphere was lively, the staff friendly, the seating unique as was the crockery. We ate 4 dishes noodles and curries all of them excellent. Great value for money too.

Superb awkward getting out of the tut tut tables shame we could not book.
C. 1.
Love the street style ambiance, food was amazing and so tasty. Went as a group of 8 on a Friday night, we didn't book and didn't have to wait long for a table. Service was excellent definitely will go again
H. D.
I really liked the menu and the restaurant is cool, we sat in a Tuk Tuk which was fun. I had the Pad Thai, I am very fussy when it comes to Pad Thai 😁 but it was good...a little on the sweet side but still good. The soup with meat broth looked and smelled delicious! There was a couple of Thai ladies eating so it must be authentic.
J. M.
AMAZING. The overall feel was simply the best. I literally felt that I was transported to asia. The food was mouth-watering and amazing. Flavours were SPOT ON; and servings were more than adequate. Service was fast and staff were pleasant. The decor alone was worth the visit - let alone the food. Will DEFINITELY eat here again...and again.
D.
Proper Thai restaurant simple excellent!
S. D.
Nice place, like you are walking in to Restaurant in Thailand. Good food and service. 3 of us had a good meal and takeaway for 2. Only thing didn't like was when asked for a glass of water asked me to get it from the tap at the end of the restaurant. Otherwise I would have given 5 star.
R. B.
Wow. This place was amazing. It was the most authentic restaurant I have ever visited. However, I do recommend that you arrive early. Its a favourite hot-spot and can wait for a table for a while. I would highly recommend this place.
L. H.
(Recommended by a work colleague) I was a little apprehensive as I didn't have a clue what I was ordering as it was my first Thai meal but WOWW!!! It was so tasty! I had battered squid and the one dish duck. It was so good. Fast service and very good prices aswell plus free popcorn! I was pleased to see that you could easily adapt the level of spice in the dishes and have it to your taste. I'm a wuss with spice but the boyf loves it and then tries to get me to try it just to laugh at me...quite mean really. Anyway, yes we loved the vibe in there and the layout of the restaurant with the open planned kitchen which made it feel like a real street food market place. It was great! The food is, honestly, incredible, just packed with amazing flavour! Highly recommend. It's my new fav restaurant!
C. T.
Amazing food and atmosphere 😀👌🏾
A. S.
starters were disappointing. but the mains were delicious and very flavourful!
we ordered the batter squid, deep fried chicken wings, Tom yum soup for starters. the soup was good but the others had no flavour. for mains we had the chicken green curry, pork penang curry and no.88 fried sea bass with fried curry sauce - all delicious.
would definitely come back again.

This is a good place to come to. I enjoyed the atmosphere, although it was busy but the staff were pretty great checking up on us and making sure everything was okay.
We ordered the Bangkok Platter for starters which tasted really good. It was a great insight to the starters here and the taste of Thailand, I would have like there to be a bit more to eat though, especially if you want your starter arriving at a different time to the main course as if it is busy, apparently you either have your starter arriving at the same time as your main course or with such a long wait between the two courses that you're fidgeting to find something to eat. I understand that times do get busy and it is hard to align all the timings for everyone but complementary snacks would be ideal in this situation to fill in the gap between the two courses. For my main I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Jasmine Rice (Pad Preaw Wan) which was enjoyable but I felt that there should be more of the chicken as the plate looked really big for the portion size. For dessert we decided to split a Glouy Cheum (caramelized banana with vanilla ice cream) between the two of us and I found it rather enjoyable. I wasn't too keen on the caramelized banana on its own as it was a bit bland but it went perfectly with the ice cream and whipped cream. Overall a really good experience and would definitely return here, but I would recommend checking out the menu before you get there as there is a lot to choose from.
K.
After waiting over half an hour we had to go find a member of staff to come to our table so we could order drinks. The food came quickly but one of the dishes wasn't made to the spice level that was requested so they took the dish back to the kitchen and picked the chillis off. I would have expected them to provide another dish with less spicey chillis. Drinks were brought over that weren't ordered. Overall 3 stars as food was nice but service wasn't great.
J. M.
Very funky place, you will see a big painting wall when you walk in, friendly staff welcome you with smile.
absolutely delicious food but little bit spicy for me, price is good. Love it and definitely back when nest time in Nottingham!
C. P. (.
Excellence Thai food. Didn't leave anything on my plate. Would definitely go here again!!
J. I.
Food was great as per usual, apart from the beef noodles, the flavour was great just overly chewy beef, but I'll let that go as its always on point and they haven't let me down yet :)
A. L.
Good thai food at reasonable prices. Quick and efficient service.
O. F.
Service and atmosphere were really good and the effort that they have put into making the venue look like a Thai street was pretty great. My girlfriend and I both agreed that the food could have been a little bit better ; both our grilled meat dishes could have benefited from a bit more flavour but all in all a good experience an we would go back.
I. G.
Great place! Food was delicious and it has a good atmosphere. It looks like you're really on a street food place. We had to wait for a bit even that there weren't that many people. However, it was worth the wait.
D. R.
Good decoration - makes you feel like your in Thailand. Nice atmosphere even though it was quite packed when I went. Food tastes good but if your have a big blokes appetite like me you leave hungry.

Delicious food, great ambience

Always great food and friendly service 👍

Just I can say OMG, everyone's must to go and try the Food.......... And you will know why...........I say OMG

Great food and cook atmosphere

Lovely food and drinks. Plenty of vegetarian options. Fast and friendly service. Would recommend.
J. T.
Great food and service, gets very busy at night though. We were told there was a 45 minute wait for a table, but it was only 20 minutes. The food comes really quickly, and there's always someone nearby to either order more food or get extra drinks
M. W.
Really delicious food served in an unique and enjoyable environment. The décor looks just like a street in Bangkok; complete with street signs and tuktuks. The service was very quick, which is great if you really want to get some decent food down you really quickly. The prices are surprisingly cheap as well. If Thai and East Asian food is your thing, you'd be mad to pass on this place.
L. L.
Bustling atmosphere just like Thailand. Phenomenal job on the decor. Good food although I've had better in the UK. Overall a positive experience. Also you might get to sit on one of the tuk tuk tables!
L. K.
I've been looking for authentic Thai street food in the UK for so long and tonight I finally found it. I feel like I'm back in Bangkok! The pad Thai is the best and most authentic pad Thai I've ever tasted outside of the country itself and I would highly recommend this place. The food, staff, decor, atmosphere, smells and sounds will transport you to a different country, and I wish I lived in Nottingham so I could make my visits regular. Thailand is the best place ever, and this restaurant represents Thailand in the U.K.
F. S.
The restaurant looks amazing. It moves you to Thailad's streets in seconds and serves food that tastes authentic. Cocktails are served in little pots which is something I haven't seen in Nottingham. Staff is helpful and nice. I recommend it.
P. C.
I'm sure this is great if you like this style of food. Wasn't my cup of tea but I could see they had made an effort with the decor in making it as authentic as possible. Rated it according to what my colleagues thought of the food as I just had a drink.
T. C.
Another tasty meal, that was served quite quickly.
J. J.
I like it. I didn't realise it was a chain until it was pointed out to me. Food is served on battered trays rather then plates, and chopsticks are _not_ the default utensils. Decor is great. Staff are friendly enough for me not to complain, but they don't go the extra mile to earn a tip, in my opinion.
D. J.
Really tastey food and great service at very decent prices.
L. B.
What an incredible experience. The food and atmosphere were great! I would highly recommend. I could not fault anything. I will be definitely retuning for more delicious food!
O.
Stands out from the growing number of Thai restaurants in Nottingham. The food is great at a really good price. It's good for takeaway but the atmosphere in the restaurant is second to none, so much better going to the location
K. K.
Really nice food, lots of options. Definitely give the whole fried fish a go, it's delicious and tangy with a salad on top.
The atmosphere is also really great, feels like you're in a Thai food hall.
J. K.
I recommend the Gang Massaman for a creamy, relatively mild curry. The menu is adventurous and rewards experimentation. Awesome decor; it reminds me exactly of the street markets of Bangkok - very atmospheric and incredible smells. The serving time is rapid, as they seem to cook everything in batches. A must-see.
C. R.
Thai food! Fantastic atmosphere - like south east Asia but without the sauna and poisonous wildlife. The food is the right balance of fire, fragrance and good quality base ingredients. They are also happy to tweak what you order to be more/less spicy. So far, the best Thai I've eaten in Nottingham. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the food. Brilliant!
A. B.
Given the themed nature of this restaurant my expectations weren't high. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The food offered was very tasty and as far as my memory serves authentic. Service was pleasant and quick. I'd be happy to eat here again.
B.
Good food but a bit salty
G. M.
The food was good. The menu was large. The prices were cheap. I had a whole seabass, cooked nice and simple, with a little rice on the side. The venue is huge inside, you wouldn't tell from the outside - a bit like the tardis or Pingu's house - which gives it a bit of a warehouse atmosphere. I'm also not a huge fan of the street food theme, which seems a bit gimmicky. Personal taste I guess, but enough to lose a star in my book.
D. B.
Great customer service, excellent food and no long wait times once your seated. It's quite popular though so there can be huge queues when waiting to get a table. Worth it though!
L.
Our server was very friendly, the food came out quickly. Food wasn't as amazing as I'd hoped but it was nice, would have given five stars if food was a little more flavoursome. Will definitely be visiting again though.
Z. S.
Love this place :-) Great food and atmosphere! Highly recommended :-)
E. C.
Very good service. Had a delicious lunch there. Loved the platter and seafood tom yum. Would have scored 5 stars if they have are wider choices of soft drink.
N. C.
Great authentic Thai food awsome place and friendly staff
E. B.
Really tasty food, reasonable price and nice atmosphere. The food came super quick, the service could have been a bit more friendly but overall was satisfactory.
N. S.
If Thai is your thing then you should definitely try Zaap. As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel like you are in Thailand with traditional street food stalls and tuk tuks throughout. This place is always packed so go with the expectation of a 30min wait as tables under 8 cannot pre book.
Drinks are limited and quite expensive. For example you pay £2.00 for a can of Sprite. Cocktails are pretty cool though, although they take some time to arrive.
The menu is quite large and although I have only tried a few things you can tell the quality of food will be great throughout.
The thing that let this place down for me is the service. Although they are very friendly there doesn't seem enough staff for the amount of people and you get the feeling that the waiters/waitresses are very rushed and not very attentive. We ordered a drink when ordering food and after grabbing 3 members of staff we finally received the drink when we had finished the meal.
Worth a try though and I would definitely give it another go to see if the service improves.
S. R.
WOW!!! what a experience to eat at zaap!! First walked in and had a very warm welcome shown to our seats and all the staff so polite cant do enough for you!! And the food was out of this world can tell its freshly cooked and quality ingredients. then the bill come.... i thought they had made a mistake with the bill being so little for what you get!! Would 100% recommend and will be going again and again.
F. S.
Lush! Awesome food and the style of fast service is great for pre-show eats.
D. A.
Food is hearty, but with little experience of Thai food it is very difficult ordering from their rather substantial selection. Good for an adventurous person.
Decor is great, like being on holiday
S.
Great food great atmosphere great price
J. M.
Pretty spot on compared to eating food in Thailand itself. Great decor, lots of real Thai artifacts make the place feel like stepping off a British street into a Thai market restaurant! Really good overall, definitely a favourite for the future!
K. B.
I've been to Thailand over 20 times, the food here is good, up to par. The staff were nice and polite and the atmosphere was good. The price was a bit high for what we got. It's a nice place though.
C. I.
Fantastic food and decor, felt like I was in Bangkok. This quirky place is decorated to look like a street in a busy Thai city. The food was really delicious, I had Massamam and some veggy starters and it was just like being back in Thailand. One star was lost for the service. They were obviously busy as we had a short wait before getting a table but it always seems to be busy so maybe they need a couple of extra waiting staff.
I. M. Y. (.
Nice up-beat atmosphere.
Attentive staff.
Quality food with a variety of dishes.
Ranges from super spicy to more mild dishes.
Well made side-dishes to accompany the main course.
