C. C.Very good pizza. We tried the GF free base, the center was a bit soft but the side very crispy. Very happy for my cheat meal of the week. The size of the regular one is very generous. Price are good. Service is nice.

Food is amazing and their waiter Jonathan is an absolute credit to this restaurant he is friendly,professional and always smiling. If you have a blue light card you can use it here too sun to thurs highly recommend if you love Italian food.
V. P.The QR code didn't work first, have to tell the staff to activate it. This was the only negative thing, otherwise, the place is clean, the staff is very professional and polite. The food was great and I like the aesthetic like the teapot is really cute.

E. B.Come here every month for a girlie catch up, but won't be doing so anymore. The evening was one thing after another. First if all, they couldn't find our booking, then they got one of the drinks orders wrong, the only one of us that had a salad, (cold meal), was left waiting for their meal, while the other 2 had to wait.
We decided to finish the evening off with a pudding, a couple of sundaes, which were then left on the counter to melt, they were sat there that long, that a member of the kitchen team, had to tell the manager to take them to the table.
It wasn't even that busy, yet the staff still seemed to struggle to cope.
C. D.All done from the app so no table service necessary, very impressed. Started with a Caffè latte and was also given some pasta crisps (very nice) ordered the bruschetta with extra mozzarella for a starter which arrived in around 5 mins, this was very light, tasty and filling, then I had the Spaghetti Chorizo Carbonara which arrived around 10mins after my starter had finished giving me time to admire the beautiful open kitchen and superb decoration of the interior. Would highly recommend from mother's meeting up for a catch up/Business meetings to a romantic evening meal. Staff were very polite

The music was a little louder than it needed to be for a Monday evening. Indeed, whilst one can understand weekend nights having a younger, more vibrant crowd in a busier restaurant might lean the management towards opting for louder music, the argument for it on a much less busy and generally quieter Monday evening is less convincing.
The staff were friendly and helpful and for those preferring the more traditional style of Italian pizza it is a decent option.

S. C.Been a while since I was in a Zizzi, it was Sheffield, so was happy to go to Nottingham. Late afternoon, so not busy. Staff were helpful and service reasonably speedy. Food was tasty, but I was a little disappointed at the size of the Bufala Caprese, another piece of mozzarella would have been in keeping with the price I feel. Herby potatoes were OK, a sufficient portion, but again slightly expensive. All in all I felt that I did not get value for money.

Haven’t had a dessert, but the pasta and pizzas I have tried have all been exceptional. The prices are very reasonable. My favourite Italian chain restaurant!
R. J.Really enjoyed treating my sister to dinner here. The food was great and the service was really good. Only downside was when I received a latte I ordered, I assumed it would be to a typical temperature. I burnt my tongue and had three blister over my entire tongue. The waitress I told looked at me like I over reacted and just got me another coffee. Two weeks later, my tongue shed a layer of skin. Other than that and my sister laughing at my burns..a lovely place to dine with a lovely atmosphere.
T. L.Really tasty food! We enjoyed all the dishes . Both the starters and mains were delicious. Service was quick and the wait staff were very accommodating. Would definitely recommend to everyone and would happily go back !
A. T.Good for a quiet family meal. Food is mostly very good, sometimes the staff are a bit busy and your food waits for a while before they bring it over. Have had lukewarm dough balls a few times recently (and overcooked so they were hard on the outside) so I probably won’t order these anymore. It’s a shame, they used to be excellent. Very good pasta. Children’s pasta meals excellent sometimes aside from the very hard dough ball starter. Children’s portions are plentiful. Hit and miss with what the kids get though. Sometimes they get a slice of bread like you’d get on a bruschetta, other times it’s a dough ball. A soft dough ball would be ideal. Kids ice cream sometimes comes with the popping candy and cones, other times it doesn’t. Bit hit and Miss.
Tables a bit cramped together. Ladies toilet cubicles tiny - not great for a family restaurant really because you can’t close the door and help a little on onto the toilet, as the door is so close to the toilet itself and opens inwards. You basically have to climb over around the toilet (gross) or leave the door open and the child feeling a bit exposed. I guess larger ladies might struggle too. Also don’t sit in the two booths downstairs. They’re probably the most appealing seats, but when you actually sit there, the drains or waste pipes run underneath so they can smell rotten. We sat there once and had to move. You can see a hatch in the floor and staff are aware that the booths can smell bad at times.
I’d return (used to come about 3-4 times a month) but probably not as often anymore. They’re not major problems but more consistency with the children’s dishes, softer dough balls and toilet doors opening outwards would be suggested improvements. Also to space the tables out. The last two times we’ve been, we’ve been uncomfortably close to other people and just wanted to finish the food quickly and go.
R. S.Finished the last of the Christmas shopping with a trip to Zizzi’s. Although the restaurant was busy, we were served promptly. Some of the dishes were not available from the set menu which was a shame, but we were aloud to choose anything else we wanted as a substitute! Win Win!

D. T.Had an excellent experience here, great food and was treat by the friendliest of staff. I believe their names were Jacqueline and Rock, genuinely the nicest servers I have met. Was treated very well. After simply asking them where they were from, they seemed very happy for me to have asked, had a really nice conversation. We talked about our nationalities and they served us in the best way possible. This has been outstanding customer service and don't think I will get it like this for a long time. Hats off to these great people, deserve a big raise.

J. K.I have been here several times over the years and returned last night. Booked a table for 3 for 16:45 and was seated on time. Finished a 3 course pizza meal by about 21:15. Whilst we were not in a rush it felt that we were kept waiting far too long between courses.
Having said that the atmosphere was great and the food very tasty. It seemed like the wait was engineered just so we would buy more of the overpriced drinks.

M. C.Lovely ambiance here! There restaurant is on two levels with the kitchen, which is open, on the lower level.
The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming and very knowledgeable.
The food is very good quality and incredibly well presented. The portion sizes are adequate. Not too big but not small enough to leave you hungry.
I had wild boar meatballs to start, which I can definitely recommend, followed by a rustique pulled pork and crackling pizza. It was very long, pretty wide and extremely thin.
The toppings are good but be aware that they put the crackling on the pizza.. I just took them off and ate them on their own. Absolutely delicious.
Oh.. The cheesecake for dessert was amazing!

The cost of drinks is also taking liberties that make me refuse to return as a matter of principle. £4 for a bottle of beer that is 70p in Tesco. I know and appreciate mark up, but there is a limit.

W.I always love this place, it can get a little noisy when it's crowded but there is a nice energy to the place, the service is always friendly, and I like being able to see the pizza ovens in the kitchen. There is a great variety of foods for all diets (mine is a difficult family) and it's consistently good.
If you're going at a busy time and have trouble with stairs, I'd let them know when booking because the majority of seating is downstairs.

D. H.Good. Would go again. Downstairs is big. Some little off-shoot nooks for coziness but might lack atmosphere for couples in the main area if that matters. It was a quiet mid week and they weren't seating people on the ground floor which is where the loos are. Don't know if they have a lift so accessibility might be an issue.

S.One of the best chain restaurants in existence! So much so you don't feel like you're in a chain restaurant when you walk into a ziizii's. I've been going to this one in Nottingham for the better part of 20 years, with family, friends and a few cheeky dates. And I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience! I don't know another food outlet that I can say the same about..

S. W.One of the best Zizzis around! We had the fantastic discounted meal on offer, 3 courses for 'x' (can't remember). Prawns & gralic onion bread for starts, brisket tagliatelle & chorizo carbonara for mains & the unreal honeycomb caramel cheesecake for dessert. It is literally my favourite cheesecake ever, great night, great service, thank you!

But one thing that slightly damaged the impression was a waitress. She was kinda rude in sense how she was serving us and short-tempered when we told her that we would pay with vauchers.
W. T.The restaurant is located in a prime location right next to the King Street bus stop and a stones throw from Old Market Square. I thought the food was excellent in both quality and quantity, however I felt the layout of the restaurant floor area was a little cramped and the wait for the drinks was a little to long, but still acceptable. Would recommend anyone in the area to try it out.

Staff walked by many times over an hour and deliberately avoided eye contact, one even looked at me waving and then walked off never to return (yes, I know this is what busy wait staff do). Waited over 25 minutes to pay our bill, which was very reasonable. If your staff are overworked, get more staff.

On this particular occasion their fryer had broken so the starter I chose wasn't available. However I wouldn't put the rating down for that because the starter I ended up having was lovely. Food came in good time, was freshly cooked and hot, and tasted really good. This is also a great place for kids. It's quite a civilised place but lively and isn't quiet so kids can still be kids, the food choice for children is also good. For a chain restaurant I think it is less like a chain and more like a restaurant. Sure the chef's cook to a formula for consistency but they're actually cooking it properly and I'd say it compares with some high quality independent Italian restaurants I've eaten at in the past. Price is also really quite fair. The three course kids meal, plus two drinks and two three course adult meals, plus a bottle of wine was 75 quid... Which for the quality of food I think is fair (we've eaten at places like Frankie and bennies before with a similar quantity of food and about the same price but about half as good in terms of quality). The portion sizes are perfect and as Italian food commonly is there's plenty of bread knocking about so if you like to stodge up and feel nice and full you won't have a problem. We had the garlic and mozzarella bread with caramelized onions (AMAZING) the cheese fondu and brushetta to start, I had the king prawn linguini for main which was full of flavour and really freshly cooked. My partner and daughter had spaghetti Bolognese and for pudding we had the brownie. Nom nom nom.

Zizzis is a great little Italian style restaurant. The menu has a good variety of food and it's not extortionate!
It's great for meeting friends or just a meal for two, I live the two small booths by the stairs although they're rarely free.
The service is pretty good, it's a big dining area so can take a bit of time to get noticed on busy nights, Fridays and Saturdays especially.
The drinks menu is limited and they only serve Peroni beer but the food makes up for that.

We tried stuff off their Christmas menu which was amazing, the Mac n cheese pumpkin baubles were delicious I’m craving them again right now. We shared the starter, both got Christmas pastas for our mains and dessert each. He tried the brownie panatone and I tried chocolate brownie both great very rich. We had drink each I dried the Xmas themed cocktail rosstini however you spell it was lovely and the salted caramel baileys was ok needed something to cut through the alcohol like a splash of cream. Service was great attentive and waiting wasn’t too bad. Reason it’s not 5 because even though the food was good the price wasn’t. We paid over £60 for just 2 people to eat & drink a meal. We usually go out for similar meals starter main desert drink and spend half of that around £30-40 so was disappointed with how exspensive it was. Overall great meal definitely try the Mac n cheese pumpkin baubles!

The restaurant is noisy and has little ambience - not the place for a relaxing meal for two. Have visited better branches of Zizzi.
It's a shame as I have always preferred Zizzi to some of the other 'Italian' chains, but Nottingham did not live up to my expectations.
