Reviews of Bhoomi Kitchen Oxford

Hands down one of the nicest Indian meals I've ever had.
The menu was limited, but still had an excellent variety. I have always struggled with the size of the typical Indian/curry restaurant menu, which often leads to repeat unadventurous ordering. At Bhoomi there was a much more limited choice, but clearly each dish was well considered to offer something for most people.
The beef curry I had was absolutely delicious and paired so well with the paratha, as recommended by the staff.
I'm only in Oxford for a short while, were it not for this I could easily see this becoming a regular for me.

Very delicious food. We were a group of 7 and all ordered the Thali option. It has a bit of everything, and the portions were perfect. We all enjoyed our meal very much. I was particularly impressed with the waitress, she was so sweet and very helpful. Will definitely come back and sample other items on the menu. One small downside is that, perhaps because of the small space, it felt a bit too noisy when we were there.

Bhoomi is more than deserving of its Michelin guide listing. I can't stress enough how excellent the service was, which was easily on par with Michelin star restaurants. The food was just as good.
We went for a lunch thali, and had the BBQ prawns from the dinner menu (which they happily obliged to serve). These were easily some of the best prawns I've ever had. They were cooked to perfection.
The thali was a lovely selection of South Indian curries, all of which were excellent. We've had several thali, and restaurants generally struggle to maintain quality across all the dishes, but Bhoomi doesn't have this issue. The breads were also delicious.
We both had lassis, which again were far beyond the quality of lassis you'd usually get in a restaurant.
The food and service were both stellar, and we will be back.

Very good Keralan Indian food, the highlights being the salted lassi, masala dosa and the coconut chutney, beef curry and Kerala parota and rasam and prawns, all of which were extremely delicious. The disappointments, sadly, were the sambar that accompanied the dosa (lacking in flavour and not authentic), the lemon rice (too greasy and not lemony enough), the overly sweet payasam and the rather artificial-tasting pistachio kulfi, which was more an ice cream than a legitimate kulfi. The mango kulfi/ice cream, however, was very tasty, and the service was really good and attentive too. However, it was a bit odd to see north Indian dishes like black dal and chili paneer on the menu, but I guess they are trying to cater to all tastes. Full marks for effort, just a few tweaks needed to make this a really authentic experience.

One of the best places in Oxford. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly; make you feel completely at home from start to finish. The food is nothing short of amazing. Had the Banquet, which is a selection of their specialties for starters and main: all of these were lovely. Particularly the salmon as starter and the lentils and beef curry as a main are great, and the black lentils are so good. Also highly recommend the kerala parotta as a side; so nice and flaki, which goes really well with the curries.
Definitely coming back here!

Staffs are extremely friendly and available. Food is tasty . but no A la carte available. We had to order set Menus and for one person it costs approximately 35£ which is highly expensive. You could see on pictures and it costs 75 pounds which won’t be affordable for many, especially considering headington as a student hub. It’s ideal to have set menu and A la carte also. Hope the management consider it.

The food was great and the service attentive and informed. Our waiter gave excellent considered recommendations after asking us what kind of flavours we enjoy.
The King Fish was incredible - the perfect balance of spice and flavour.
We’ll definitely be coming back to try some of the other dishes.

Wow! The food was great! It was so great even, that we forgot to take a picture beforehand but just jumped right into the flavourful dishes. The portions in our opinion were good. We had the butter chicken, the korma, the Chicken 65 starter, some rice and some fluffy coconut rice cakes (will always order those from now on!) and my husband and I were both very happy.
Also, the service was good, too. The gentleman made sure to that we were happy when the dishes were served. Overall a great experience and would honestly recommend to come here and try it out!

Friendly, attentive staff, really delicious food. It is a bit pricey so don't be expecting bargain dishes. I'd definitely go back again but more as a treat.
