A delightful place with a great atmosphere. Ideal for a quick bite, coffee or lunch/dinner. Prices are at premium level and considerably high (take away prices are lower). 📍Location: In the heart ❤ of Jericho area in Oxford close to many local pubs/restaurants 👷‍♀️Staff: Smiley and always helpful. 🍲Food: A big range of of deli options, see photos attached (all of them high quality but definitely pricey). We like the carrot cake and the spinach pie! There is an option for Italian food menu which is great. Their pizzas🍕 are highly recommended! 🅿Parking: There is an option for 2hours free parking along Cranham Street, alternative there are pay-option places across Walton Street, Great Clarendon Street and the Port Meadow South Parking.

Have had some mixed reviews on this place so one star off. The price of food here even from deli is a little steep. As a student I have came back to get some bits occasionally but cannot come back often due to the price. The chocolate section is great and it does have items that I have not seen before with good looking vegetables as well. The pasta(gnocchi) was actually not very nice with super richness to it and was not able to eat it. I have not been to the restaurant before so would like to try it in near future. Having some student discounts or point systems could be great.

What a delightful place this is with a huge range of deli foods +. Loads of seating inside and out to sit with your coffee and food. This place is very deceptive as it looks tiny from outside. When you enter it is vast. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. I will definately be coming again on my next visit to Oxford. Thank you for a very pleasant experience guys.

One of my favourite places to go for lunch or dinner in Oxford, Branca can be relied upon for a range of delicious offerings all made with high quality, often locally sourced ingredients. The deli shop is curated to tempt you from every angle, and the restaurant itself is the sort of place you fancy yourself coming back to even just for the ambiance.

A great atmosphere, relaxing with a lot of natural light. The coffee was quite enjoyable and the food options at the deli, especially anything made on the spot, are great. The pricing is the only real issue here as you certainly are paying a premium for the atmosphere. Otherwise, nothing bad to say.

Had a dinner in the green room for a party of 13. The food was absolutely delicious, service was great and the location perfect. Speakers were also provided which turned out to be a great addition to the night. The staff were very accommodating to our needs and everyone had nothing but compliments for the kitchen. Great food marred by rude service. We got some lovely food from the deli for my birthday and sat outside in the seating, and were told to sit at the side closest the restaurant. Tall waiter, gingery beard and balding comes out, shouts at us, tries to get us to move, as we’re in places “reserved for” the empty restaurants, no tables next to us are being used. Disappointing. Otherwise good service but not the first time this particular man has disappointed.

We visited the restaurant for lunch with a group of friends. It is associated with the next door delicatessen. The main restaurant room is large and. There are apparently a number of private function rooms which can also be booked. We went for a main course and then some of us had a sweet. The food all arrived at the same time for our whole group, and was well presented. While we were waiting there was bread and dipping oil to keep hunger at bay.

Very nice space and food. I went as a work party for a Christmas menu and this one didn't disappoint. The charcuterie board had quality products and the pork belly was melting and flavour some. The room vas very noisy though, the only minus point of the evening.

Branca has done a great job absorbing the delicatessen next door into its restaurant space and opening up a beautiful atrium between the two premises. The deli serves very tasty salads at reasonable prices at lunchtime. A star removed though for charging a 7 quid corkage for bottles of wine bought on their own premises. What's that all about? The Manager needs to be told what corkage is for.

Excellent meal with friends in the garden area. We were all happy with our choices. Crispy fried squid and buffalo mozzarella to start. Rare grilled tuna salad, stone bass fillet, and braised pork belly as the mains. Finished with some tasty desserts.

Branca is a pretty and spacious Italian restaurant, with about 15 pounds for a full-sized main dish. Staff was friendly, the complimentary focaccia starter was amazing, and our meals were delicious and hot. - Likely to go again!

I shop at the deli here. Amazing. Foods from the ocean. Fresh vegetables. Home made salads or breads. Sweet tooth options. Soups I have only dreamt about. The coolers stocked with deliciousness and luxury. Quiches that fill me up and again freshly made. A very good wine selection and juices too. When I walk in I'm greeted by lovely staff who attend to my needs with politeness and friendly chat. It is in my opinion the best fresh food in miles. Highly recommended

Amazing - you must go here! We went to Branca yesterday for our daughter's 21st birthday lunch and it was fantastic. From the moment we got there the service was excellent and made us and her feel special. We had a lovely table ( outside obviously but with a heater) in the very pretty courtyard. Our waiter Flavian was great and couldn't have looked after us better. the food was delicious, we had a range of starters from lamb koftas, squid and an asparagus salad, all of which were yummy Then we had again a range of main courses including linguine with prawns, tagliatelle with wild mushrooms and pizza and steak- All excellent and nicely presented. Followed by Tiramisu which was lovely and creamy. I'm fussy with my food as a cook and all I can say is GO HERE ! Totally worth it, lovely staff, great food and to top it off a great deli so you buy more bits to take home! We'll be back! Thank you for an amazing time and for making our day so special.

This place goes from strength to strength. They have recently expanded and the restaurant is now very spacious but retains the intimacy and style that it had before. There are several possible options for larger functions which have made it one of the premier venues in Oxford for special occasions. They were highly professional, flexible and welcoming for our daughter's recent 21st birthday. The food was, as always superb - innovative, beautifully presented and tasty. The service was excellent with several waiters dedicated to our small event in their stylish new private dining room downstairs. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they weer very flexible with our requirements. We can highly recommend Branca as exceptional value for money for your next special event.

We sat in the inner garden, the weather was nice, late lunch. We started with cocktails which were pretty ok, we got fresh baked focaccia bread with olive oil and vinegar to start with. Shared charcuterie platter and caprese salad. Food was freshly prepared and tasty, warm and friendly service. A good place if you're in the area.

We were here last Wednesday and we had Good food, starters and mains! Desserts were tasty as well but not a lot of Italian ones to choose from. What was a shame was our rude blonde waitress who was unkind throughout the evening. It got worse when the desserts arrived before tea and we asked whether it was perhaps forgotten 15 minutes later. She replied: no! It’s on its way, it’s busy and we have other customers to look after! The three of is laughed as it was just icredibly rude. The senior guy was very nice and was visibly working his socks off.

I come here almost every day and it’s easily my favourite café in Jericho. The selection of rolls and sandwiches is incredible. The Italian Hero is easily the best sandwich in Oxford. They also stock a phenomenal range of unique groceries that are almost impossible to find anywhere else in Oxford. Also, the staff are always lovely and the service is terrific.

The Deli is still open during the Covid lockdown. Went in on a Sunday (26th April) and they still have a great range of fresh bread, fruit and veg, and hot food and salads for takeaway. The staff are always lovely and very helpful. We're huge fans and hope the cafe and restaurant are open again very soon!

We came to dinner at Branca after a glass of wine at the Oxford Wine Café. It was a nice evening, so we sat in the courtyard and enjoyed the weather. We had prompt, helpful service and a delicious meal — I particularly enjoyed the wild boar tortelloni special and the pistachio cheesecake. As a whole, the restaurant is relaxed but sophisticated. I would return.

Disappointed. We came here after reading great reviews on TripAdvisor but were disappointed. Not a large selection of Italian inspired dishes, we had the spaghetti bolognese and in all honesty it was something I could make at home and probably better. I'm sure the other dishes are nicer. Our waiter was very friendly but the overall service was so slow, they need to hire more staff... the poor guy was serving far too many tables.

No Longer As Consistently Good As It Used to Be? Branca (or "Brancas" as it is normally known) was a synonym for consistency, you always knew you would get a well-prepared dish. Well that is my experience based on many family visits over the last couple of decades, although admittedly they have dropped off a lot over the last few years. But based on last night's experience some cracks are appearing. It wasn't a good start when at 6:15 (on a Friday) there was only one barman working, it took quite a while to get our first drinks at the bar. And with only one person working front-of-house meant another wait to get a table. And the table wasn't one of the nice old small round ones which make for what I think is a more intimate experience but a much more boring lighter brown square one that looked quite out of place. The bread is still very nice though, as were the two starters we shared, the crispy fried squid and the king prawn bruschetta (which is particularly good). I ordered one of my two favourites, the smoked haddock risotto, as did my wife. Here is where the real disappointment began, it was well over-cooked with no "bite" whatsoever in the rice. We said it wasn't right. Unfortunately it seems it can't be served less over-cooked, and apparently no one else had complained. As an alternative I ordered my other all-time favourite which is the rare-grilled tuna. This arrived looking much different to usual. Instead of a flat "slice" of tuna I got very chunky pieces, so you get a huge block of rare tuna in a relatively thin seared surround. Not such an enjoyable experience (I did eat it), and when this was pointed out afterwards there seemed to be agreement that this wasn't how it should have been served. We got the bill, we were charged for what we ate, no deductions for the issues suffered. On the way out I noticed that there are now diners placed on several tables in the bar area which I don't remember being the case in earlier visits. One table overlooks the spiral staircase down to the toilets, another is pushed up against the bland wooden hoardings covering the adjacent hotel construction work, the tables seem remarkably close to the outside door and whatever cold drafts will result from the many comings and goings during a cold evening. When either the bar is busy or it is cold outside I wouldn't want to eat there. It wasn't all bad by any means, other dishes were very good (as they always are) and there are many worse places to eat, but here's hoping overall consistency returns. And apologies for not having written a better review during those earlier days.

Arrived with great expectations for Sunday lunch on November 2nd having just moved to the area. Everything was great up until after we had ordered. Starters took a long time to arrive and other tables who arrived after us were served ahead of us. Starter food was nice but pricey for quantity (example 3 prawns and 3 squid - £4.65!). The enjoyment further wavered when it came to clearing our plates. Only half of the plates had been cleared before our main courses arrived. No apology was given. The same thing occurred after we had finished our main courses and we ended up clearing up half the plates ourselves! No one cared even though the restaurant was half empty (probably why?). For £150 for a family of five (2 Adults 3 Children) you would expect more. It would seem they are more catered for tourists rather than potential repeat customers like us who have just moved to the area. We left very disappointed. I would hope that there will be much better restaurants for us to experience in Oxford in the coming months and years.

Was really good, now seems a little weak. My wife and I have been to Branca nearly 10 times in two years. We've taken friends, parents and celebrated there. When we first visited, we were blown away by the food, the cheap price and the lovely setting. The brunch menu was always our favourite. Sadly, now the food seems to have fallen by the way side. The last two or three visits have left me wanting more. The food seems bland and overpriced now. Either the restaurant needs to reduce the prices and keep the food at the current standard, or improve the food to match the prices. Also, the coffee is way overpriced. I don't want to give up on Branca, but it really has been overshadowed by much better restaurants in Oxford.

Been here a few times and would have given four stars but the last time we went we were really overcrowded by people waiting to be seated. I asked to cancel our desert, the waitress said "why" and I replied that I didn't like to sit with someone's elbow in my face. They moved us to another table but I was pretty annoyed by then. This used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Jericho, if not the whole of Oxford. A great place to take your parents or outlaws. I love the waiting staff's leather jerkins. Nice and airy with excellent food. The last couple of times I have been for an evening meal it was far too noisy to have a comfortable conversation around the large round tables. This really spoiled my enjoyment. You should also check out the deli next door for lovely cheeses and sourdough.

Our local Italian. Sometimes a little understaffed when busy and the service experience can vary a lot depending on which waiter/waitress serves your table, but food is consistently good and good value for Jericho. Highlights for us are the pizzas, the grilled tuna nicoise and the goat's cheese salad. Drinks at the bar are great thanks to some very competent bartenders. Coffee is not great so we generally avoid that.

Mention Oxford, and you’ll no doubt link it to the oldest university in England, the University of Oxford. Being a famed student town means you’ll likely find really amazing places to eat on a budget. Branca is a great suggestion if you’re going for a quick meal or a longer hangout. The setting is a cross between a bar and a diner/cafe where Italian food is the main fare. I really like the atmosphere of Branca and I can imagine dropping to hang out and chill in the afternoon. The space is large and there’s an outdoor area towards the back if you prefer a bit more sunshine in summer. I had the stone-backed pizza and the grilled squid is really amazing. More importantly, the staff really put a friendly atmosphere and was really jovial which makes the lunch really enjoyable.
