Went for the burger Monday and really loved it! Really affordable and great selection of drinks and lovely burger! The Oxford sauce was really nice and the outside environment was lovely as well. Would love to try other dishes in the future as well. Having some heating outside could be even nicer. Staff was really lovely as well! Will be back :)

A very nice place to eat. The food is fresh, appetising and above all, very delicious. So delicious we ordered another sizzling prawn starter before we even finished the first one. Their bbq belly pork ribs are amazing. We would and will be happy to drive an hour to go back just for something to eat.

I love the atmosphere here. The music was perfect and not pounding loud like so many bars. The food was incredible and was served very quickly despite it being a fairly busy day. I got the fish and chips and have to rank it very high on my favorites. Very fresh! The portion size was more than adequate, and I plan to come again when there is live music.

Jazz band far too loud. What goes down well in a club doesn't necessarily suit a restaurant. They should learn to adapt their playlist to suit the venue. Also, dessert portion very mean. Left feeling disappointed. Good lively atmosphere though.

Joe’s is popular and rightly so. The casual drop in ambiance with a stylish musical theme decor mixes well with the area and you always feel a bit special afterwards. As well as full menu, they offer a few daily lunch time specials, but be quick, they are so deliciously popular they run out quickly. I must congratulate the chef for one of the best side salad’s I have received. All too often you receive a few lettuce leaves with the odd tomato and little or no dressing. The one I just enjoyed was a real cornucopia of healthy greens, reds and yellows. Probably the best side salad I have received at a restaurant. Complete with a light mustard seed dressing, it was perfect. Thank you to all the staff for a lunch time special.

Breakfast Not Included. Joe was a odd fellow. He informed me that the "Joe's" breakfast comes as "base". For £9.50 you then had to add eggs, beans and other standard cooked breakfast item's for additional charge (£1+ per item). Bit cheeky to be honest. On top of this it took while to get bill. I want to my money but you make it hard to do so. You have pay £1.50 for the rest of the review.

Friendly & attentive staff. Unfortunately the food is very over priced for the bland taste. Deep fried-brie is lovely but the beef burgers had no flavour, and chips were very small in size. Disappointed 😞

Service is friendly and fast, and the food is reliably good if a little pricy, but expected for the area. We had a sharing plate for starter - houmous, aubergine dip, feta and warm, crispy pitta. For main, BBQ ribs that were very well cooked and sticky, with crispy thin fries and a rich coleslaw, and a house burger with extra bacon and Swiss cheese. Along with a soft drink each the bill was just under £55. Will go again.

Popped in on a cold and windy afternoon. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere convivial and reasonably busy. I was staying in a nearby B&B on business and have eaten here three nights in a row. The food is well cooked and presented. The restaurant ambience is warm and pkeasing and the staff are attentive, helpful and friendly. A little bit pricy - starter and mid price main course plus a glass of wine cost £30 each night, so not sustainable price wise for regular business eating. But for me it was convenient, quick and very pleasant to eat here

Nice bistro/restaurant/bar in North Oxford. Food is not spectacular, but it is definitely filling and tasty. The burgers are a good size but I personally enjoy the fish and chips they do here. Really good place for a Sunday brunch as they offer all sorts of poached eggs options. Good coffee and while I haven't tried their cocktails, they do look good. Have been here on a Thursday evening as well when they have musicians playing and its a fun atmosphere.

Fantastic service! Loved it! When I ordered dessert I said I wasn't in a hurry cause I wanted to finish my wine first. The Walter told me I just had to signal him if I wanted the dessert. Doing the extra which defines 'good service'. The food was really good! This is a place worth recommending!

Lovely athmosphere, great food, friendly staff and fair prices. Ive been to joes many times now with my family and they never fail to serve impecible dishes each time. The staff are incredibly friendly and service is really fast. Only around a 10 minute wait for your food and it still tastes and looks incredibly fresh and the prices are incredibly low for the great quality of the food you get. I reccomend the sizzling prawns and the steak with herb butter. The only minor issue i can think of is that the soft drinks arent quite fizzy enough but these can be easily substituted for a cranberry juice (which i also reccomend). Anyways great place to eat for any occasion. Would reccomend to anybody and i shall be returning after the national lockdown. Stay safe!

The restaurant is much larger than I first thought. Very modern decor and nice booth seating. Bar area is small and was very busy at happy hour. Great selection of cocktails available. Simple food but very good! Attentive staff and accommodated us when we asked to move table's. ( sat by front door, chilly as customers leaving didn't shut the doors) Would come here again! Another cracking independent restaurant in Oxford. A real brasserie feel to it with a decent cocktail list and lovely booth tables. Service was spot on and our steaks were perfect. They do regular live music there too.

Excellent place to eat. Had dinner there 3 of the 4 nights we stayed in town. Had the Herb Crusted Cod, the best meal I've ever had in any restaurant. My husband had the Sirloin, and he is very fussy about his steaks, he absolutely loved it, cooked to perfection. Would recommend this place to anyone and if we are ever back in Oxfordshire again, we will definitely come back..

The style of the establishment is very unique yet classy, and makes you feel right at home. Wall decorations range from guitars to pictures, old radios to Betty boop. Wonderful place to spend lunch or dinner, I will definitely be visiting again.

I've been a regular here for over 10 years. I try to avoid busy times, preferring to enjoy a quiet meal (usually lunch) in a friendly local atmosphere. The food is great, the prices are fair, the staff is superb. With so many places unable to afford the Summertown rents, I hope Joe's will remain here for a good long time!

The restaurant always has a special of the day that is fresh and not the typical "old food". Pricing is not cheap however it's not expensive... you are paying for what you get.
