Reviews of Organic Deli Cafe, Groceries & Event Catering

We visited the Organic Deli Cafe just before a tour of the University libraries. We told the staff that we were on a schedule and they were happy to serve us quickly.
I am vegan and my partner is coeliac, so we often struggle to find places that we both enjoy eating. However, the Organic Deli Cafe breakfast menu had choice for both of us, and could be adapted where possible.
Both of us enjoyed our breakfast, but my partner said that the gluten-free pancakes were the best that he'd ever tasted. It was the culinary highlight of our trip.
The location is also something of a 'hidden gem', hidden down a side-street that you could easily walk past. So stay observant!
Thank you Organic Deli Cafe for being so inclusive (of vegan and gluten free needs), accommodating (of rushed customers), and providing great food!

This was a lovely find that was close to the train station as we arrived into Oxford. The service we got was lovely and very friendly. Seating is upstairs while they have an organic supermarket downstairs. All the ordering and payment is done on their website and it's quite intuitive to use. The food arrived very quickly and tasted great. Would recommend!

The staff is so helpful: I was poorly organised and messed up on an order, but they agreed to prepare the order again and deliver it at no cost, which is very generous. Very happy with the quality of the food, always delicious and made with fresh ingredients, would definitely order there again!

Gluten Free. Great selection for breakfast. Lovely happy lady serving. Excellent coffee and food.
All round, very much worth our one mile walk to find it.

Without a doubt this is my favourite Cafe in Oxford. Such a variety of Organic dishes mostly Vegetarian but also Chicken.
Great Sweet Potato Soup. Mouthwatering Salads (mine usually includes carrots, rice, avocado, marinated veg, green leaves plus I sometimes add tofu and falafel). Fantastic juices (I usually have a Greens only juice) and great coffee.
Everything is Organic. And so Healthy!! At such reasonable prices.
And the Service is truly wonderful. As is the Vibe. So nice to be there we feel so welcome when there (which is often). And we meet such interesting people there!
We LOVE this Cafe and we think you WILL LOVE it too!
P. S. We're not related to or friends with the owner or the employees.

I am SUCH A FAN of this place. I visited on the off chance with the kids, and my GOD is it good: can we talk about the pancakes? The vegan options? The flavourful vegan dishes, the sublime offering for each diet all with organic food? The stellar customer service? It's one of the best cafe's I've been to in the south of the UK.
As a Brummie I'm used to kind customer service, but having lived in London I understand the pressures and possible irritations cafe staff are put under, which can mean they might not be so kind on the day. Not with Organic Deli Cafe.
Honestly, they can't do enough, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I travelled to Oxford on my birthday solely for the food here. Best decision ever.
Great, great place, highly recommend.

I held a big group booking here, and they were amazing! Really accommodating, delicious pastries and cooked breakfast, and amazing fresh juice! Would 100% recommend, great service and lovely people

I don't normally write reviews but I had to leave one for Organic Deli today. I have been before the pandemic and had really good food and drinks, always really good service as well. Today I ordered a takeaway delivery using Deliveroo and the food arrived really well packed, fast and super hot! It was absolutely delicious and now I cannot wait to order again. I had the 5 bean chilli with extra halloumi - the guacamole was the best one I had in Oxford so far. I am super picky with food and I have to say this was perfect and super healthy as well. Thank you Organic Deli!!!

Honestly the best place in the whole of Oxford for people with dietary requirements!
The food is incredible. ✨Great all day breakfasts and the gluten free pancakes are the best I have ever had!! 🥞 Lovely staff and environment. 🥰
I shall definitely be back soon!

They can make their whole menu gluten free. Even their cakes are gluten free. I had the deluxe sandwich and sticky toffee cake and tea. The sandwich bread reminded me of a fluffy savory muffin and the cake was very moist, rich, and sweet.

Kind staff quick service, outdoor seating for a nice day. Quite expensive but definitely worth it. We totally recommend it... Lots of choices and all organic.

I had the bean, avo and brown rice bowl - and I loved it!
A bit pricey, but great quality, good portion and conscious takeaway packaging, and above all yummy and plant based!♥️
Thank you! Will come again.

Nice cafe with lots of seating, they ran out of brown bread and the white bread had dairy in it, but they had falafel salad. The salad was nice, but only three falafel balls! The chocolate cake was good, with a slight taste of banana, the fruit cake was good as well.

Excellent breakfast. One regular and one vegetarian. Great choice of quality food and friendly enthusiastic service. A really good find!

Our first visit today (my friend gave me a voucher). I never knew about this great place! We had sandwiches and a bowl for lunch - the food great quality and the preparation with great care made for super tasty sandwiches, in fact the best we had! The shop assistant was extremely patient and positive when dealing with a lot of tech issuees when processing my voucher - thanks so much.

Just had a delicious coconut vegan cake and Earl Grey tea. Bought some quality fresh ginger and turmeric here too. Recommended organic cafe . Surprisingly unusual for Oxford

I would like to thank Oxford Deli for the wonderful self-service feast they prepared for a family celebration that we had in March. The food was delicious and plentiful. Everyone enjoyed it and agreed that it made the celebration special. Of course many family members are not vegetarian but they all thought that the food was very tasty. The food was delivered to us with crockery and cutlery at an agreed time and the empties were collected later. I recommend this company if you are looking for unforgettable food at a reasonable price. The company was very good at communicating with us and dealing with our worries about various food intolerances.

These guys are great. I needed to get food delivered to my film crew and I contacted Organic Deli Cafe at around 3pm the day before the shoot. All went smoothly and I had a happy well fed crew on location in Oxford.

We catered from the Organic Deli Cafe for a corporate event. The food was tasty and the service was excellent. The fact that all their packaging was biodegradable was great too!
We would definitely recommend them.

I really love this place. I've been coming to the cafè over the course of the last 2 years and was always met with a warm and delicious breakfast. I love the ambiance and the people there are really friendly. Also saw a cute guy there today which is a shame since I'm at the end of my stay in Oxford :') Highly recommend this hidden gem.

Very nice place. Great service with friendly staff. Had the breakfast there and it was very good.

We were so pleased to discover that Organic Deli Cafe were still delivering food, and ecstatic to find that this included delivery of fresh produce! We were able to buy food there that has been out of stock in supermarkets for the last few weeks. The delivery was so fast, easy, and really well packaged. Thank you so much Organic Deli- you never let me down! Buy from here to support an amazing local business during this turbulent time.

Phenomenal caterer! We have worked with the deli for years catering our highest profile event for our VIPs involved in a New Theatre show and they never disappoint. The food is lovely, fresh, creative and the presentation perfect. They are professional in the details prior, show up early and ensure every detail is cared for - critical for us when dealing with heads of state and even Queens! Can’t say enough good about them.

The Organic Deli had catered for many of our office events. The food is always well received by the attendees.
Cristina & Trevor are great at adapting the menu to suit our requests and special dietary requirements. The food is always delicious, great customer service and communications.
Highly recommended this lovely cafe!

We used them for student catering at Oxford University and were always impressed by the quality of food, friendliness, flexibility and price. Thanks again, Trev and Christina!

We had a fantastic lunch at Organic Deli Cafe. I was part of a group of 22 faculty and students from a university in the US. We chose the cafe because of the menu - it accommodated a wide range of dietary preferences - and emailed them prior to our visit to the UK to make sure that they could seat a large group. They were very quick to respond to our email inquiries.
Upon arrival, we found the food to be fantastic and the staff to be helpful and charming. I'd definitely recommend the Organic Deli Cafe and hope to visit on my next trip to the UK.

The Organic Deli catered for our family party for 25 people last weekend. We could not have asked for better food, service or value for money. Everyone (including the non-vegetarians) loved the super-tasty organic veggie buffet and Trevor was very helpful and accommodating with the menu choices and dealing with allergies. Thank you again Trevor and Cristina!

One of the rare places that serve gluten free pancakes! And they are delicious. The staff are always really lovely.

The staff were super lovely, really friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately for the food I have to give this place 3 stars - the food was nice but way too expensive for what it is. The 'day bowl' I had was just a homemade stew, nothing special flavour-wise or presentation-wise.. So £10 was a bit excessive. Also had a brownie which was nice but again nothing amazing.
M. C.
Amazingly fresh and organic ingredients - the salmon & eggs is heavenly and the coffee is delicious. Wonderful organic goods as well and lovely team.
C. S.
Great food, very high standard and they were really helpful and even helped us get our pushchair upstairs. Super hospitable, would definitely go again and again.

We've had event catering from the Organic Deli Cafe for two consecutive events (18 and 60 attendees) and I would get catering from them again any time!
We've had an entirely vegan menu, which was delicious, varied, and extremely well received by all our attendees (even those who are usually meat-eaters). Trevor and Christina replied quickly to emails, managed to include any and all requests we had, delivered on time and were friendly and easy to reach the entire way through.
If you need vegetarian/vegan catering for your event, this is the place to go.

That is one fine hidden gem! Amazing choice of delicious sandwiches. Sourdough halloumi was the best one I have ever had. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I am sure I will be coming back. They also have a store with some delicious organic treats. Well worth discovering, even though it is hidden from the main street.

I’ve been to two events catered by Organic Deli, one of which I organised. Both times the quality of the food drew compliments from almost all participants.
I really appreciated the smoothness with which everything was delivered and collected – I didn’t need to think about catering at all, and could just focus on running the event.
Thanks to Trevor and Christina for a great service!

Fantastic service and delicious food. We had two sourdough sandwiches, bursting with flavour. The menu and ordering is all done on line

Bright, attractive and friendly organic cafe, with vegan options available. Good for breakfast, lunch and cake. Very tasty sourdough bread used in the toasted sandwiches and fillings with great flavour combinations. Meanders over 3 floors. Order at the counter, pay on the way out and just see if you can resist buying a slice of cake to take away!

Delicious food, the chef clearly takes a lot of pride in his cooking. Can’t fault it.

Really like the vibe/concept of this place but the food and service is a hit or miss. The sourdough sandwiches are simply amazing and great portions for the price. However, the bakery products (esp Vegan chocolate cake) are ridiculously dry and tasteless, bordering on burnt. Very surprised they’d serve something like that and at the price they do. Inedible. The Oxford Fog drink tastes like milk flavoured water. Food generally tends to be overpriced. As for the service, the front attendant is quite passive aggressive/ sarcastic and seems to have forgotten the idea of ‘the customer comes first’, making me feel unwelcome, uncomfortable and stupid. They also enjoy sitting down and going on their phone when there is nobody to serve and acting irritated when you ask for something a 2nd time as a result. The idea of a staff member kicking back a chair and browsing on their phone openly is shocking to me. Really want to like this place, but don’t think I can come back again given I feel like I am some kind of burden to the staff (not the first time I’ve felt belittled in this way at the Organic Deli Cafe). Shame the concept and attempt to create a friendly, local, wholesome space aren’t actualised, and instead the pretentious stereotype of hipsters come through.
