Reviews of Quod Restaurant & Bar
M. G.
The Quod is a nice restaurant to dress up and enjoy a nice meal paired with some good drinks. The service is excellent and the atmosphere really enjoyable. The pizza I ordered, however, was severely lacking, both in taste and texture and would not recommend it at all. The food my friends ordered did look very yummy and they seemed to be quite satisfied with it!
A. T.
We got the lunch set menu which was around £18 per person for 2 courses. The slow cooked pork belly was soft and tender while the cod karahi was flavourful and fragrant.
Very good value for what you get and the outdoor terrace seating was a plus!

Lovely atmosphere in here and great service. Fab location if you are looking around the town and want a nice meal. Our drinks were especially lovely with lots of choice (a great cocktail menu and wine list). I was impressed by the amount to choose from of the food menus too and ended up with the baked polenta starter, salmon filet main, and banana/salted caramel cheesecake dessert. It was all delicious, however my only remark would be is that it lacked a little flavor as has been mentioned by others! My family seemed to enjoy their meals though (especially the fish of the day special) and we had a great time

The 3 stars are for the exceptional Sunday roast, the best ever. The crispy duck breast is very disappointing because the skin is not at all crispy. The gravy should be much thicker! The meat is quite chewy yet not fully cooked. Yuck! 🤮 It’s better to come with some carbohydrates. I have tried much much better duck breast elsewhere. I would give myself an applause to manage to finish it.

Have visited quod twice now and both times as a big group we waited over an hour to get our food and the service although the staff were lovely it just took too long. The starter which was crab and sourghdough had a hair in it and the bread was a bit burnt. The main was lovely and the coffee was nice. The atmosphere is lovely too but all the outside seatings should have some kind of heating since some of the cold days it was too cold. Also think some student discounts will be good and the wait time really needs to be changed.

During our vacation to London, we planned a day-trip to Oxford to visit the Bodleian Library and University. We also wanted to check the box on "Afternoon Tea" as part of our itinerary. The Quod Restaurant Bar & Grill not only helped us check that box, but also happened to be conveniently located in the middle of the main attractions we wanted to tour.
I reserved a spot through OpenTable, but the reservation wasn't wholly necessary for the time of day (3:30), as there were seats available, both inside and on the terrace. Our waitress offered us a choice of seating and then provided us with a picturesque spot by the window, where we could see a lovely view of the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin (see image gallery). The restaurant interior carried a polished and high-end aura, but we felt very welcomed in smart-casual attire. The pace of service provided plenty of chatting time during dining, with no hurry to rush us out, lending a relaxed, almost café-style tone to the experience.
We selected from both the Afternoon Tea and Luncheon menus. My traveling companion enjoyed her cassoulet of Spring Vegetables, curly kale, and haricot beans, which arrived in a fresh-from-the-kitchen cast-iron skillet.
The real show-stopper, though, was the High Tea, which we shared. The tea itself was the perennial English Breakfast with milk. The tray included five finger sandwiches, ranging from cucumber, to egg and cress, to ham and mustard. Two savory scones, large enough to share, came next, along with a buttery-sweet serving of clotted cream and tart, juicy jam. The selection of desserts topping the tray represented the best of the Quod's variety, including a shortbread cookie, macaroon, mocha-frosted cupcake, lemon bar, fudge cake, and artistic cup of blood orange tart, crème fraiche pudding with a sprinkling of fruit seeds for texture.
I highly recommend the Quod for its great location, picturesque views, and, especially, its High Tea. I look forward to dining there again, next time I'm "across the pond."

We have been here yesterday during a short visit to Oxford. The place is really nice, you can immediately understand it is a really good restaurant, there is a lot of attention to the details in the furnishings and many staff members to take care of the customers.
Overall our experience has beeb good, the highlight was definitely the octopus starter, which I cannot recommend enough. I also enjoyed the tagliatelle with pork ragù, prices are not on the cheap side but the portions are big and the food tastes good, so nothing to say about it.
The only thing that really disappointed me was the soft goat cheese starter, which was presented on the menu as accompanied by chicory, hazelnuts and watercress, but when it came to the table was mainly beetroot, which I don’t exactly love. I ate the goat cheese and the rest of the salad but ended up leaving almost half plate full of big chunks of beetroot and even if the waitress tried to play down saying it was a rich salad I was left a bit disappointed, you should definitely state it in the menu if there is that much of an ingredient.
The pizza was nice but I would say the Italian sausage looks more like a pepperoni.

Really nice place, perfect atmosphere for a date. Delicious steaks, and were really lucky to catch the oyster day 😋 bar recommendations - basil daiquiri 🌿
T. A.
Very pleasant. Staff are friendly. Food are good. Love my order which is fish of the day (seabream) and the boyfriend love his spotchcock chicken.
D. A.
I must admit, this restaurant is the best for me in Oxford. Love the foods and the staff are so friendly and nice! Please try!……

Our adult daughter wanted to go for her birthday, table was for 7 people. We all had a main and dessert plus drinks. We all agreed that the food was good quality and flavoursome. The service was also good, the waitress was cheerful and professional. Nice atmosphere and decor, good place to go for a celebration, would recommend. 🙂
S. B.
Friendly, comfortable service. Sat outside. Good food. Genuine!

Visited the Quod for lunch with my daughter. Great ambience, not rushed, very attentive pleasant staff. The food was delicious, generous portions, of which I feel has been lacking post covid in so many restaurants. We plan to make this a yearly Christmas visit, in the meantime, hope to visit again soon. Thank you x

Had a very nice celebratory weekday lunch with tasty food and excellent service, would highly recommend. We were a party of 6 plus a toddler and a baby, and the children were very well catered for with suitable cutlery/cups etc - we felt more relaxed with the children than we do in other, more obviously family-friendly cafes. The waiter (Virgilio I think) was friendly, patient, great with the children and very accommodating with food requests and allergies etc.
M. J.
We had fantastic service from the bar staff to the waitress who served us. The place had fun paintings all around and a nice busy buzz to it. The food was great, the four of us had different dishes which we loved, but the crab starter and trout main were definitely a good choice. And for once a male toilet that didn't look like an abandoned building where all the facilities worked as they were meant to in a clean fresh environment.
S. C.
Celebrated my son's 30th at The Quod this evening. Could not fault it. Food was magnificent. Andre our waiter could not have been nicer, kinder or more fun if he tried. Thank you so much for making a special evening even more special. And on site parking was a total bonus. The best evening. Thank you so much.
J. P.
We enjoyed a lovely meal here, as a table of 6 celebrating a graduation. The food was delicious and the cocktails amazing (Basil daiquiri is a must!) but what really made our evening was the friendly and efficient waitress - Anna. She was an absolute delight and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Anna!
A. B.
My partner and I had a lovely dinner at Quod. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I have a dairy allergy and our server made every effort with the kitchen to ensure that dairy was not present in any of the dishes we ordered. I will definitely recommend Quod.
J.
A nice relaxed atmosphere, food was lovely. It's always a busy place so at times you could barely hear others in my group.
N. M.
Really special and relaxed restaurant that delivers really great modern cuisine. Often there are special things like oyss as tees or prosciutto on show. Irresistible! Gorgeous surroundings, live music often playing, and we loved the effort that they went to last Christmas!
P. T.
Our dinner club decided to come here - it was a first rate choice. Starters were simple but delicious. Mains were substantial and well-cooked and the wine and service were excellent. All in all made for a quality evening.
J. R.
Probably the best hotel restaurant in Oxford; welcoming staff, many people 😀visiting, which is the best recommendation. We had the chicken chops with salad 🥗 and egg, also red beetroot risotto with mascarpone and they were delicious 😋. Garden area available as a terrace under the roof. Nice and modern interior 👌.
M. D.
Wonderful restaurant
Dish is delicious, service good, and price is reasonable.
Z. Z.
An absolutely perfect meal. We had the seared duck and the vegetable cassoulet. The three of us shared these two entrees and then shared an absolutely stupendous thick strawberry milkshake for dessert. A perfect meal and even better service from Andrea. If ever you are in Oxford I highly recommend you have supper there.
B.
Extra pleased because of the mix of really great food, lovely staff and dog friendly. In Oxford getting a place with your dog is not easy and great food is not easy to find. A fresh salade with watermelon and mint fitted perfectly with the hottest day of England ever.
J. B.
Had a veggie breakfast which was decent. The service was great and speedy (but it was first thing on a weekday morning so not sure if it's always like this).
Only criticism is that the tables and chairs were filthy. Could have done with a wipe down with a clean kitchen towel. Crumbs on the table and sticky table top! No bueno!
J. G.
Great food. Service was pretty slow but it’s a Saturday so can’t complain too much. They brought us the drinks after the food and two bills. Would recommend.
A. G.
Had lunch for 4 today..University open day, so busy. Excellent food and service and great atmosphere outside. Ella helped with directions and parking etc. could not have been more supportive. Many thanks.
D. B.
A very large and active restaurant, right on Oxford High Street. Its size means something for everyone on the menu. Cooking is uniform high quality. Special today, whole plaice, was excellent, as was service.
J. H.
Lovely restaurant in a lovely location. They catered for my gluten-free requests without any fuss at all. Very happy and will, of course, go again.
P. C.
Ok but past it’s best
Not great service. We came for the full experience of past times: started, mains, puddings.
But this time we just had mains then left. Nothing wrong just a bit underwhelming.
Also window tables are “reserved” but then given to people without reservation.
J. D.
I stopped in for a drink between meals and the bar service was quick and very helpful. They have a beautiful Jamon Iberico De Bellota that tasted exquisite! They also have great deals on cocktails Mon-Friday from 5-7! Stop by for breakfast, lunch, dinner or afternoon tea!
N. D.
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!!! We had a phenomenal night here!! We had our mini sausage dog accompanying us, and in all of Oxford, this place made us feel most welcomed and comfortable and auch a chic atmosphere!!! Anna and Christine made our night unforgettable. They were so gracious, friendly and warm. We will absolutely be back in the future, as well as hold our future business meetings here with our staffs. The food was AMAZING. We recommend the scallop/prawn/mushroom gratin starter..it was to die for!! As well as the Basil Daquiri!!! THANK YOU QUOD!!!! You have been top notch!!!
Edit-- We returned a second day for their Sunday Roast and it was THE BEST we have ever tasted!!!!!! Blew my mind!!!! Kudos to the chef and again, the entire staff, who took time to come over to us and say hello and they remembered us from the night before. This restaurant is absolutely extraordinary, a really special and wonderful establishment.
We will be making this a monthly trip for sure from the South.

8 of us went for lunch. We loved it. We ate outside on the patio. We each had 2 courses. The food was very good and the service was wonderful.
G.
We had a lovely lunch there yesterday. Fantastic service from Vanessa who looked after us throughout. Highly recommended.

Finally after the lockdown in the UK, the restaurants opened. Service here was excellent, everyone was excited to start again even with the face mask.
Food quality is ok, and they have decent cocktails. If you’re looking for an average price range and good food to match this is a good place in Oxford and very spacious so you don’t need to worry about your neighbors.
V. D.
Amazing to be back! I've always loved coming to Quod, and it is so good to be able to go there again. I even enjoy the addition of the new screens between tables which give the impression of increased privacy.
N. T.
Very nice please. Great menu and service. Staff knew what they were doing and about all the food and how it’s cooked which is good to see nowadays. Highly recommend
N. T.
Lovely restaurant in old building in the centre of Oxford. Very good service, fast and efficient. Food was cooked well and everything was really good.
N. S.
Wow this is an amazing restaurant with amazing food. Fixed lunch time menu is good but very busy so book in advance.
S. D.
Fantastic food and great service. The garden is a lovely place to relax. I'd highly recommend the risotto and be sure to order pancakes if you're there for breakfast.
j. j.
Strong recommendation
I had lovely dinner
All staffs are kind and atmosphere was really good
K. C.
An excellent restaurant with good ambience and delicious food. Perhaps slightly above average price wise, though to be expected for the venue and quality of food. Although the menu was on the short side, there's an option for everyone. Pictured is the roast rabbit and fillet of cod, both of which were very nice. To supplement the main menu there is a wide range of daily specials on offer.
Highly recommend the restaurant and will go again.
A. D.
Had my reception dinner here and the Quod were very accommodating and the food was brilliant. Absolutely would recommend for any dining occasion
T. R.
Excellent food, good cocktails available. Reasonable prices if you attended before 6pm
R. G.
Prompt service and the menu is varied. As vegetarians, we enjoyed our food and it was well presented. The only reason we didn't particularly enjoy it fully was the seating and background noise. We booked a table and our table was next to the bar...so very loud and not particularly intimate. The food was very good and I recommend the cassoulet with beans. Delicious.
R. T.
Great ambience. Service was ok but could be better. 3 star rating is based on personal taste of the main course which i am sure will be delightful to others. The crab starter is, nevertheless, quite good.
L. S.
Just had a great dinner with a large party at this place. They had a nice pigeon breast and mushroom starter, as well as an excellent duck leg confit main. The duck skin crackled like glass, and was well seasoned. Service was also good. Wine was affordable - they had an excellent Bordeaux by the glass. Would recommend!
J. C.
Had a fabulous afternoon tea today with one of my friends for her birthday. The afternoon tea was lovely hot scones and a great waitress called Natasha looked after us. I would thoroughly recommend this place. I will also be back again.
T. E.
Everytime I'm visiting Oxford I go to Quod. It's menu is always appealing, perfectly cooked and tasty. The cocktails are amazing everytime. Not just in 2017, but for the past 15 years the quality has not wained. And for those picky/OCD like me, in the bathrooms the soap is by the sink and the hand lotion by the hand dryer!!! Makes perfect sense!! I wish all establishments would be this logical 😁
O. W.
Chanced upon here at lunchtime during a brief stay in Oxford.
Very pleasant decor, staff and lunch. We had the 2 course set menu (with choices)and found it delicious.
My wife had “crab on toast”with a posher name, followed by Spanish chicken. I had a salad of Shropshire blue, walnuts and pears followed by an Indian fish curry. All excellent!
And a nice selection of good wines by the glass ,too.
Located very centrally on the High Street, opposite All Souls College and close to various other impressive buildings.
If/when in Oxford again,we’ll certainly go back there.
K. U.
Popped in for birthday event, family breakfast. Overall very please, seated in corner table, polite and attented staff. Between us we ordered full breakfast and grilled kippers, all was well cooked and presented. Also recomend the sour dough toast. Will visit again on next trip to Oxford.

Christmas Day 2920
After a year where we have all endured confines and separation from family and friends, we decided to push the boar out on 25 December and we went to Quod. We had booked the three course Christmas lunch which was actually 5 courses. We had several delicious canapé each, from a selection of both warm and cold treats that included chicken and chorizo skewers and smoked salmon with cream cheese on toasted brioche . Then our starters arrived. Portions were generous and the food was fantastic - I had scallops with pork belly, cauliflower puree and spinach. The scallops were perfectly cooked and were complemented by the pork belly which was both crisp and yet had just the right amount of fat. The whole dish was sublime and I have been craving it ever since. M had artichoke soup with truffle tortellini. He said it was very good.
Main courses: Turkey and all the trimmings for me - a huge portion which defeated me but was all amazing and of the best quality. M devoured his turbot in an orange beurre blanc, but even he was getting full.
Pudding was something traditional for M and cheese and biscuits for me, which I asked if I could take away as the thought of another mouthful was too much for me. But then came coffee and little pastries of either fragrant mince meat or rich chocolate ganache! These were added to my picnic for later!
Service was excellent and the drinks and wine were lovely.
Thank you to all at Quod for making our Christmas lunch special and helping us enjoy what would have been a somewhat bleak celebration without our loved ones about us xxx
J. L.
Great service, beautiful place and tasty food - pizza is recommended!!
N. M. d. C.
Excellent food, professional staff and clean. I have always had such a great experience at Quod and I absolutely love their burgers and risottos of the days.
N. S.
Quintessential posh Oxford hotspot for food and cocktails. It’s always quite busy, so best to expect mediocre service but good eats. The garden section has great views but is always crowded and chances are you’ll have to wait without making a booking in advance.
Top spots on Oxford high-Street.
M. T.
I was advised by a friend, so I decided to come in and I didn't regret it. The waiters were friendly. Thank you very much. I will recommend you to everyone.
C. M.
Amazing food and lovely staff. Large restaurant with plenty of tables. The menu is well balanced and I loved my cheeseburger. My friends tried other items and they were all very satisfied. Would definitely recommend trying if you're in Oxford and I'll try to go there again as well.
k. b.
A nice calm lunch with a limited set menu but plenty Al a carte choices unfortunately we chose to sit on the rear veranda which we vacated to another table that had coverage! When the rain came unexpectedly
R. W.
Delicious food and excellent, but pricey. Disappointed that we were sat at a table behind the bar, close to the kitchen exit so were unable to appreciate the atmosphere of the main room.
L. T.
I really like the atmosphere here, but it can get a bit loud in the evening. For bigger groups it’s definitely necessary to make a reservation. The food and service never disappoints me here!
M. B.
The food was adequate but uninspiring. Unfortunately it was also very noisy. Overall not bad but slightly disappointing.
E. S.
Beautiful place and good local beer 🍺
T.
Great atmosphere, beautiful restaurant with amazing art everywhere and nice friendly service. They even have a live piano player who was incredible certainly a must visit place when coming to Oxford.
S. 1.
I have arrived in Oxford around 21:30 Sunday night. This restaurant was recommended by hotel staff and has very nice foods and staff.
谷.
It's a great restaurant with good service and luxury. It is a restaurant where you can enjoy everything from starters to desserts.
G. R.
Fabulous service. My partner and I stopped here today for afternoon tea after a *very* long drive. I think it's fair to say we looked fairly bedraggled (or, at least I did!)
We were made to feel like royalty. The lady who served us kept our tea topped up and even offered us a tourist map as she knew we were going to do a little sight seeing.
The tea was delicious, the service was exceptional. Highly recommended!
W. Y.
The aged ribeye taste great!
F. A.
Excellent food and nice and kind staff. One of the best fine-dining places in Oxford.
K. “.
Beautiful place, great atmosphere and very tasty food.
V. C.
Service was excellent, friendly staff and the food was decent considering the price. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience
R. a.
Time-keeping excellent
Service. Very good as ever.
Cuisine. High Standard.
Seating. Comfortable.
Covid-precautions. As one might expect but could be more rigorously applied.
E. P.
Lunch at Quod: delicious, unhurried - even tho I was annoyingly indecisive, and creates a feeling of space in spite of being busy. I always forget to do a quick tour of the room to check out the artworks before I leave. Never mind: another reason to go back!
K. P.
Duck confit is amazing, very soft and rich in taste. Highly recommend 👍🏽
G. E.
Excellent, everything was excellent. Service is perfect, food was delicious and the place is adorable
B. V.
Very nice, very expensive and service was not too bad. It felt a bit dry, but not rude. Would have been nice to be welcomed and order taken in a bit more of a friendly way. Also, we ordered a cream tea but despite asking how much we would need for 4, it felt like the server was so rushed that they just put 4 down and we were left with way more than we needed. It looked a bit comedic. Obviously, there needed a bit of communication.
However, food was good, service was prompt. Worth a visit if you want a high end place to eat or have a drink or business meeting.
R. C.
We have been coming here for years for both client meetings as well as our annual team Christmas dinner. Service is always 5 stars and it always feels like a real treat to come here.
V. K.
Had a fantastic dinner for a hen do, the atmosphere was great, the restaurant is done with a lot of taste, everything was clean and modern. The food was purely fantastic! Very well priced considering how high quality and delicious the food was. But I have to say, our server, Vanessa, stole the show! Her vast amount of knowledge, her spirit, her friendliness and service, and just sheer joy of doing her job well, was magnificent! Never had such incredible service!
V. H.
The dinning experience here was glorious! I had lunch here, with a friend. We sat in the garden. Reservations are needed because it is packed. The menu is simply beautiful. I spent 10 minutes only taking in all the beautifully crafted options. Had crab cakes and asparagus with a house salad. Ingredients were fresh and yummy. Service was also excellent. First I was brought a side of spinach instead of the house salad, but this was quickly solved. The cherry on top is that this is a tourist location, and yet the experience was amazing ( as compared to other restaurants located in tourist spots where you leave hungry and angry because prices are exorbitant and food is sad). Kudos to the team. I will return soon with my husband.
A. J.
Delicious food in every sense! Great place for a graduation meal and prices are respectable for the quality.
A. H.
A super place.
Staff were beyond friendly and helpful.
We had the Sunday beef and I am not being dramatic in saying I've never had such smooth and tasty beef in my 38 years.
Excellent value and absolutely delicious.
Have booked an afternoon tea for a hen event in a few weeks and I cannot WAIT!
M. G.
We went there when only the terrasse was opened and the place was quite lovely, all the waiters that we saw were very kind (one accepted to take lots of pictures of us).
The outside part was animated with many people, pretty lights, lots of plants, the atmosphere was amazing and very romantic...
The chicken and the pasta that we tried were very delicious.
I definitely recommend this place which is amazing and not that expensive for what they do, I was quite surprised to be honest.
Thank you for everything !
S. B.
Lovely lunch and friendly service. Good value set menu. Highly recommend.
M. M.
Food here is definitely 5/5. The restaurant itself m is very pleasant with some interesting pieces of original art on all walls, however, I’m giving it 4 star because of the staff.
Don’t get me wrong, they were all perfectly adequate. They took our orders, delivered with impeccable timing etc, but there was no personality from any of the ones we dealt with.
I guess there are people who don’t like to chat with staff - if that’s you, look no further.
M. R.
Lovely food, but place was very cramped and you were sitting on top of other people in the restaurant!
K. C.
Probably the best Sunday roast we've had in a while! For a restaurant of this size, they have managed to keep the food quality high. There is a great variety of different foods from steak to roast to Pizza. There may be better smaller and probably more expensive restaurants, but for variety, convenience along with good food this one is great and it's large capacity means you will no doubt get a table.
F. K.
Lovely place. Very good food. Nice staff. Will go again.
K. R.
Food was good, service was slow with food but more so with drinks. Staff were very friendly but struggled to get orders correct. Nicely decorated with a good garden area.
J. D.
Starters were very good, fish main course very fresh and perfectly cooked. Good ambience and service, staff helpful and flexible. Recommend a visit.
J. B.
Unimpressed. Expensive and yet the service was poor and the food average. There are better restaurants on the High St that are cheaper.
R. R.
Cream tea was lovely.
Service prompt and efficient.
Nice coffee.
H. R.
I had dinner here and had a good experience. The food is of high quality and the service is friendly and quick.
R. M.
Excellent afternoon tea and amazing service - we came for a birthday and they were very accommodating with our cake (brought it out for us complete with candle) and balloons etc.
M. C.
Fantastic afternoon tea. It was really delicious but there was too much of it. We would have taken a box with the rest in but are staying at a hotel with no fridge. The staff were attentive but not over barring. I will definitely go again. We booked our table with openable from their website which was really helpful. Check the website for times as they only serve it for 3 or 4 hours a day.
M. O.
Ideal timing? Why not between 12 and 6 for the lunch set menu, or even better arrive between 5 and 6 and hit the sweet spot of reduced price signature cocktails.
Whenever you go, expect delicious food, an extensive wine list and good service.

Fab meal and lovely service. Nice touch they picked up on the booking. Busy for a Thursday
C.
Excellent service and a wonderful atmosphere, very cosy and welcoming and always a member of staff on hand to help. Food was just incredible one of the best meals of mine and my mums lives, the duck was to die for and as for the puddings- highly reccomend sticky toffee with ginger icecream. My mum says the pavlova was one of the best desserts she had ever had. Cocktails also were dangerously tasty- could very easily drink a round of the rose and raspberry bellinis! Definately worth a visit thank you so much Quod!!
M. G.
Fantastic place. What a service. Non difficult. Food better you don't find. Must be seen.
H. C.
The duck's skin was crispy. The lamb cutlet was cooked well and was delicious.
T. W. W.
Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, friendly service and live pianist on Sundays - perfect!
M. C.
I took my son here (4yo) for his first ever afternoon tea. The food was delicious and his strawberry milkshake disappeared within seconds. Seating is in a covered terrace, with lots of little pendant lights and a small water feature. They offer warm blankets and it's covid-safe. It's reasonably priced, too. However, what really made it a great experience was the staff. They were super attentive, child-friendly, and very kind to my son. A massive thank you for making this a wonderful experience for him.

Great place, lovely covered terrace, large menu and friendly staff. I would just urge anyone to call well ahead if you want to be seated on the terrace- I booked at least 6 weeks in advance but they still tried to put us in the less glamorous overspill seating in the car park. Luckily we were able to move!
A.
Great atmosphere and friendly service.
The food came in good time and tasted great. Some of the best pizza’s in Oxford.
No complaints at all.
J. M.
Great food, house wine below average. Staff good. Nice atmosphere
E. C.
Fantastic food, wine and staff.
b. k.
We loved our visit here - great vegetarian food, my salad was full of really high quality and tasty ingredients, no "space fillers" and lovely dressing and my daughter's pizza was excellent, staff were friendly, there was lots of space, and service was relaxed and responsive and great value - thank you
H.
I love the clean and classy atmosphere and Quod's ultra vigilant staff.
P. C.
Just passing through for comfort break and drinks at the bar.
J. Z.
Very nice and tasty lunch and good value
K. W.
Great eating outside option (and who feels comfortable eating inside at the moment? If not for yourself, then for staff who have to work). Lovely covered area at the back of the restaurant. Excellent lunchtime menu. Good service. Thank you!
M. K.
We liked the oysters very much! Very cosy and nicely decorated environment.
B. R. K.
Had a lovely afternoon tea, great selection and delightful staff, couldn't make us all feel more welcome.
L. M.
Very expensive and I didn't enjoy my meal. Salmon fish cakes didn't taste of salmon. The wilted spinach was too strong to eat. Perhaps a touch of pepper, lemon and butter may have improved the flavour.
T. A.
Absolutely amazing meal ,yummy cocktails, good Malbec, fantastic atmosphere, service spot on staff are truly amazing 👏 👏 👌
D. T.
One of the best steaks I've had for a long time. The salmon special was also delicious, as was the scallop starter.
A. K.
Environment was lovely 5/5, the staff were attentive5/5. Clientelle are nice and well dressed and the general ambience was good. We had a great night and i had the fishcakes which had good pieces of salmon but i didnt eat it all because it didnt takes amazing just adequate therfore they dropped a point 4/5. I would return for the ambience and the vibe but not so much because of the fishcake. I still recommend it may be other dishes taste better. You can dress up as well which is always nice.
S. L.
The service was amazing. I never waited or wanted for anything. Highly recommend going early to take advantage of the set menu which was great value. The cocktails were really nice but there were no beers in tap only bottled so something to be aware of. Also worth noting that the service charge is included but it was well worth the service and makes the dinning experience that much better but make sure you know that is added to the price. Wound definitely return !
H. H.
Excellent food, excellent ambience and very decent, polite, attentive, lovely waiters.
Delicious cocktails and oysters.
Supremely high standards are the norm there.
A. W.
We came to a friend's wedding on 12th June and staff members Virgilio and Luca were absolutely brilliant - they couldn't do enough to ensure the wedding went well- thank you again! The food was also very good which when serving over 20 guests at once was impressive.
S. W.
Friendly staff, tasty food and a nice covered outdoor eating area
L. M.
Excellent afternoon tea, with great service
B. P.
This place remains amazing. My man and I enjoyed a delicious meal outside, last Saturday evening. We had the lamb and the lemon sole and both were cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed the crab starter. Special shout out to our waitress, Vanessa from Namibia - her service was friendly, and professional. She got my fussy G & T order exactly right and when it started to rain, she dashed out to put up the parasols for us and check we were still comfortable. Quod it not cheap but it represents excellent value and we highly recommend it.
A. C.
Superb dinner at Quod. Atmosphere in the restaurant was really buzzy and staff were happy to help and give recommendations. Will visit again when next in Oxford!
S.
A beautiful restaurant with delicious food. We had the lamb and it was melt in your mouth good! My daughter had the steak which was cooked really well. I was looking forward to the ginger icecream with my dessert but was served vanilla as there was none. A bit disappointing.
P. K.
I loved the atmosphere of this place. It is lovely drinking your tea looking out at the Oxford picturesque streets and buildings from the big windows. However the quality of the scones and service was average but definitely affordable.
J. S.
Good Smart Place to dine out when your in Oxford! A great variety of Starters and Main courses. This combined with a fantastic Wine List!
I started with the Pork loin and Ham Hock Terrine! Delish!
B. T.
Duck was well cooked and delicious
T.
Super food and service. Great ambiance.

I’ve visited this restaurant tonight and I can highly recommend! Beautiful place with live music and fantastic atmosphere! The food - delicious and very tasty! Specially big THANK YOU for the lady that was serving us - Andrea - very polite and professional and she look after us since we came in until the end! Would definitely visit again! 🙏
I. S.
Really good service and food. A bit pricey, but the food is healthy and top quality
B. L.
Delicious, well presented dishes with a side of cocktails!
S. N.
Lovely place to eat. Good value set meal options - I had chicken schnitzel with fried egg - mmm. Delicious apple and blackberry crumble with ice cream for dessert. House wine - red and white were tasty. Staff attentive and friendly.
P. N.
In the Old Bank hotel. Wide variety of food. Inside and outside dining.
D. O.
Lovely experience here for a posh lunch and cocktails. Waiter very helpful and the food and drinks were excellent
B. R.
Very nice, a little more expensive than we expected but worth it.
M. M.
Reliable high quality food in Central location. Outdoor courtyard nicely set up with cover and heaters in these covid times. Popular place for students to take their parents (if the parents are paying).
A.
Lovely location but not sure why the outside is covered in plastic
J.
My boyfriend and I had a lovely dinner here at the weekend. The Rogan Josh was fantastic - miles better than you'd expect from a restaurant that doesn't otherwise serve curry - and the lamb cutlets were grilled perfectly. I asked for well-done and they were still nice and tender; no boot leather this house! Salted caramel cheesecake was VERY sweet but no complaints from me.
It was busy and not exactly quiet, but it was also Saturday evening in a large and clearly popular restaurant - you'd be silly to expect anything else.
Overall: honest and unpretentious food, done brilliantly. I can't fault the service and thought the portion sizes were more than adequate (honestly, I think a lot of places over-serve anyway).
Couldn't afford to eat here every weekend but I think it's going to become our go-to treat spot. They also do wine by 500ml - ideal for when one of us is driving and a bottle would be too much.
O. W.
My partner and I were hoping to go for a nice quiet meal before we saw a show in the theatre, unfortunately despite the nice exterior this place can definitely let itself down. It's quite loud and surprisingly cold, and the tables are packed in quite tight so you can barely get out without worrying about knocking someone's drink over. The food was okay but we much preferred the starters to the mains. Overall the experience wasn't great.
B. D.
Good service, but our dishes weren't up to scratch considering the price. The pizza was similar to a shop bought affair with way too much cheese and not much else. The chicken schnitzel was over cooked and very dry.
However, like I said, the service was the redeeming factor of our visit.
S. M.
The best full English breakfast. Probably the nicest in the area. Everything done to perfection, including perfect scrambled eggs. The Americano is slightly too bitter for my taste, but that is just a preference rather than a criticism. The restaurant itself is a very pleasant place to start the day. Service was impeccable.
S. W.
Delicious food....roasted tomato soup and finger sandwiches ...perfect snack. Friendly and efficient service. Great ambience. Always reliable and highly recommended.
G. M.
A beautiful building with an delightful courtyard garden. Good varied menu to cater for most tastes and excellent wine list. Food good but not exceptional to be honest and perhaps rather expensive for what it was. Service was faultless. Lovely atmosphere, perfect for celebrations.
G. J.
Great tasting and decent quantity considering that, in my opinion, the restaurant is from the higher end of market. Cost aprox £28 pp for 2 courses. Never thought of having Sunday lunch there before but it's great and one to add to the list.
C. M.
Food was good, as were the cocktails, however the service wasn't great.
We were waiting for nearly 20 minutes to place a drinks order before we eventually had to tell a waitress we wanted to order. She did not seem pleased at this as we were not her table and she did not care when we told her we had been waiting so long.
It wasn't just us who were having troubles, the table next to us had a mix up with their order but were somehow convinced just to eat what they were given. They did, but then had to complain at the end as they weren't happy.
Perhaps the waiting staff weren't having a great night but by the end of it the Maitre D' and one of the waitresses were having an argument in the middle of the restaurant. As entertaining as some might find this, it's not the best image, is it?
A.
The waitress made our night - we forgot to get her name! She has red, short hair. She was brilliant and made us feel special. The restaurant itself had a good, busy atmosphere. I liked the pianist - nice touch. Food tasted great. Faultless. I’ll definitely come again when I visit Oxford. Thank you!
B. M.
Had decadent Monday lunch. Was as good as ever. Set lunch was good value at £16.95 for 2 courses. Great friendly service as well. Would recommend
A. G.
This is an exceptionally good brasserie style restaurant right in the heart of historic Oxford. Vast expanses of modern art adorn the walls. The menu offers classical British and Continental fare. We were happy with our salad, seafood and (kid's) pizza dishes and I thought the prices were reasonable. The outstanding feature of this establishment was the service. Although quite busy, we were greeted almost immediately upon entering, and there always seemed to be a waiter attending to us the moment we needed anything. The atmosphere is lively but relaxed - with a buzz of chatter that fills the air - and it never seemed too crowded or noisy The bar is right in the middle of the restaurant. The courtyard at the back is a haven of tranquility and offers views of towers and spires. It's always good when your guests walk out happier than when they walk in. I am very surprised by the average rating on Google and if I had paid attention to it, we might have missed out on a pleasant, memorable evening.
M. W.
One of the best restaurants in Oxford and I will definitely come back again.
J. A.
Visited Quod last night with a group of friends. Didn’t know quite what to expect as it was my first time but was pleasantly surprised my the warm welcome we received on arrival. Even though our table was booked for 7:15 and we had a couple of late comers our waiter was very patient and we weren’t rushed. It was a lively atmosphere with a pianist playing a selection of jazz in the background which was lovely but not intrusive. I ordered the fish pie which was very tasty and the portions was surprisingly very large and the prices very reasonable. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family and will definitely be going back. Can’t wait for my next visit.
t.
Meal was excellent. I had one of the specials, monkfish, and it was very well done. It was a busy day and the service was still very good. My partner had the duck which was also well prepared. My only criticism was the price of the cocktails. £15 for a Negronis was as much as my main.
Other then that this place lived up to my expectations.
Would recommend to a friend.
L. E.
I booked a private dinner back in June for my company in the separate dinning room and everything tasted, was served and presented to perfection. All 27 of us had a great evening with a special thanks to Anna and Anya who really went above and beyond for us, your service was exceptional and we look forward to our return. Thank you
S. P.
Had a quick lunch here on a Sunday, and the food and service was good, though on the pricy side.
S. H.
Quite crowded at lunchtime but great food - had fresh fish of the day, loved it.
J. D.
Outstanding meal under the Dishi Rishi scheme. Perfect chilled Spinach soup, even better seared chicken and rather tasty vanilla ice cream with poached peaches. Very attentively waited on by the lovely Alesia, too - I hope Quod management appreciate that they have a diamond in her :)
K.
We had a great night at Quad, there was a good selection of cocktail and food options for our group. Although we arrived on time, but our table was still occupied. Luckily there was a space at the bar for us all to have a drink before being seated 20 mins later.
Service was good and relatively attentive. Food was served quickly and all at the same time. Friendly staff. Good portion size and we were all very happy with our food.
It was a busy Saturday night and the restaurant was full, so had a nice atmosphere.
P. R.
Great location, great service, unfortunately our food was hit and miss: good appetizers (celeriac soup, soft goat cheese salad), poor mains (curry, butter and sage ravioli). As an Italian, I was especially disappointed with the ravioli: filled with tasteless spinach, not enough ricotta and no Parmigiano, and served in a butter/cooking water emulsion, pine nuts, tasteless crispy sage, unnecessary parsley and basil.
S. M.
Friendly attentive service, excellent food with good variety. Modest but exquisite bar selection. Can be noisy and vibrant in the main restaurant - private dining is available. On a warm sunny day the small outside courtyard is lovely place to take a long lunch or an afternoon tea. Love it.
B. R.
Fabulous food
D. A.
Spacious dining room. Good menu (burgers to roasts to fish). My carrot soup was really salty but everything else fine. Decided against house red wine after tasting, but other choices good. Lunch with 1 glass wine at 35 pounds a head.
C.
Beautiful courtyard with outdoor heaters! I had the mushroom ravioli with sage and it was delicious. A small mishap with the food was quickly rectified. Staff are friendly and attentive.
M. S.
Customer service second to none. Food wonderful
R. K.
We loved it. Super staff from Croatia, Hungary, Namibia, etc. Busy, great buzz and atmosphere. Very comfortable. Great food, wonderful pizza with a thin, crispy crust full of flavour. We would certainly return.
S. E.
Lovely pub with beer garden and car parking in central Oxford. Delicious cocktails. We didn't eat but the food menu looked very appealing. Thus was a wonderful pit stop at the end of a lovely day trip to Oxford from London
S. S.
Lovely Afternoon tea lots to eat took some home
I. B.
The lamb is really juicy and flavourful. And the wine selection is very impressive and outstanding. The latte is so rich and creamy. Service is really top notch and the staffs are so very friendly and work very fast. I definitely go back here again next time.
K. W.
Have been here twice for special occasions. Both times the food we have had was lovely. The steaks we had on our last visit were cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth. There's a lovely atmosphere, with free parking on the road nearby in the evenings if you know where to look.
D. T.
Great atmosphere, tasty food and fabulous service from Frank (as in Sinatra!) who was exceptional. Thank you and see you soon.
F. M.
The place itself is very beautiful. I have been there a few times over the past years and have tried most of the dishes, all have been delightful. During our last visit we had the luck of a hotel guest playing the piano and singing along, making it a wonderful experience.
M. P.
Very, very good restaurant!
Friendly accommodating staff, pretty good portions (not huge, but sufficient).
The steak was good quality meat and here medium rare still means medium rare! Even de medium steak of my companion had still the tiniest pink. Very good food.
Oh and different from the soggy British crisps, they serve very good French-fries here! Best fries I had in Britain yet.
R. L. M.
Really nice to go back here. Lovely food (although they'd sold out of roasts but it was after 4pm on a Sunday so totally forgivable!) Really nice to be able to sit in the courtyard too. Will definitely be going back again.
C. J.
Stayed overnight in Oxford and needed an early morning breakfast and the Quod was the only restaurant opened at 7:00am for breakfast. I was welcomed by their warm and friendly hostess and my order was taken by a pleasant waiter. The menu was very simple and straightforward. I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk as I am lactose intolerant. The wait staff is very good at accommodating food allergies and intolerance. I had a fruit bowl along with scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. They were very kind to ask in what order I wanted my food. The food was very delicious, fresh and tasty. The cappuccino itself was one of the best tasting coffee I have had in a while. The fruits in the fruit bowl was fresh. The eggs were soft and fluffy on top of the freshly baked sourdough bread. The decor of the restaurant was modern, classy and most importantly warm. I went there by myself and saw groups of people gathered for breakfast, a mother and her baby, an elderly couple, and 2 friends just catching up. The restaurant is wheelchair friendly but not necessarily the bathroom as there were steps to get to the toilets. The bathroom was immaculately kept as well and stylishly. Overall, I had a wonderful experience I didn't need to make a reservation for breakfast but I suspect they get packed for lunch or dinner. The price of my meal came up to 16 pounds which is reasonable in my opinion. The restaurant is linked to the Old Bank Hotel so if you are staying there you will be thrilled to experience the wonderful flavors of the food and ambience of the restaurant. Greatly recommend!
C. P.
I found Quod based on several lists of places to eat in Oxford. We stopped in for an early dinner — the restaurant is bright and attractive, the piano player was excellent, and we had a very pleasant meal with helpful service. The strawberry pavlova was particularly wonderful.
S. B.
Nice resteraunt, but thought expensive for what it was.
E. T.
Although a nice setup and OK food, the food is safe, nothing exciting or great. The desserts were a full disaster, with the worst cheesecake ever.
In the backyard you will be surrounded by wasps the entire time, if you cannot ignore them, you need to be inside.
The service could have been better.
M. M.
So Quod. I like it. Great bar and a buzzy Grand Brasserie atmosphere. Pizza very good and they are prepared to cook your burger as you like it. The more gastro mains are well cooked and fish always well presented and fresh. Go.
g. r.
Friendly good service. Pleasant ambience. Good selection of menu
R. G.
Really enjoyed my meal hear. they have a really lovely seating area at the back. Great food, great service - 5* :)
S. B.
Nice Oxford hangout. Food is nothing to come back for.
T. P.
I found the restaurant in the Michelin Guide. Unfortunately not all the dishes lived up to the recommendation in there.
The belly pork was fatty and greasy with just a small piece of meat, a couple of mouthpieces. When we raised the issue with the waiter, a gentleman came and offered to take half the price off the menu. Therefore paying around £7.00 for eating the mashed potatoes.
The burger was slightly dry and the chips just warm, although eadible.
The pasta was a large portion and really great.
Fish of the day, was well seasoned, but served with just lettuce and tomato salsa, a little disappointed to see no vegetables at all.
We weren't asked by the waiter if we would like sides, so perhaps that's our fault, but watch for that if ordering.
The menu was just not exciting overall and although my daughter was still hungry after eating just mashed potatoes, we left and went to another bar down the road to eat some lovely cheeses and drink teas.
A shame overall, as it did have a nice atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend and wouldn't revisit.
T.
Went for a steak lunch here with an old friend. Service was slow and awkward, the steak looked suspect to say the least. Tasted ok but not what I would expect from the restaurant of a 5☆ hotel, more like something you'd expect of a standard pub lunch. Starters were very good though.
A. W.
Large dining area. Wide variety of food which tastes good. Can attract large crowds and can get quite noisy at times. Waiters are very friendly. Expect slightly longer than usual wait times and a discretionary 12.5% service charge to be added to your bill.
J. D.
The Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli with wild Nettles and Pine nuts was very good but I have to say that the Scallop, Prawn and Mushroom Gratin was not brilliant.
Wonderful atmosphere and great waiting staff.
Scallops need to be very fresh, frozen or refrigerated Scallops simply do not make the cut. Better not to have them on the menu at all to be honest.
K. W.
I visit the place rather often. The space is tastefully decorated with a relaxed atmosphere. The Cornish crab is my favourite starter -- simply heavenly. I usually have it with the complimentary sourdough since the crab is rather salty. The main courses are generally passable, but it's advisable to avoid the spaghetti -- simply the most dreadful pasta I've ever tasted. The service there is excellent. It'll remain my haunt.
M. W.
Good food. Was plenty on the menu I could choose. Being a greedy northerner I would say portion size isn't huge. Some meals you would have to buy sides with to make them complete. Watch out for the automatically added service charge.
M. J.
Great food, wine and service.
N. E.
I loved the place. Excellent service.
J. G.
Great food, attentive and genuinely friendly service, great atmosphere. Intimate but spacious, with subtle lighting and calm ambience.
S. S.
We had a lovely afternoon tea here on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy but not overflowing and Quod say that there is no need to book. The afternoon tea was very big! You could get away with sharing 1 between 2 or 3 if you are just looking for a snack. The service was excellent and very friendly. The food was good, the scones excellent. If we go back we would probably just have tea and scones. I would recommend them for an afternoon tea experience in Oxford.
G. H.
Only called in for a coffee, but clean, tidy, good service and nice coffee. However, not so keen on the arbitrary addition of a "discretionary 12.5% service charge".
J. T.
Great service. Super food. What’s not to like?
M. A.
Great food, especially the half and half pizza.
The staff were really great, very friendly and very attentive.
Atmosphere inside was magnificent, lively and with a vibrant and engaging decor.
Highly recommended for dinner.
K. G.
I love this place. Beautiful setting, great food, good prices, attentive staff.
I've been here a few times and enjoyed each visit. The food is lovely, reasonably priced and quick to arrive.
The restaurant itself is beautiful.
L. H.
Absolutely first class. Easily reached from the Westgate shopping mall so easy to find. Excellent food, lovely staff..so friendly and helpful..they even organised a cab for us at the end of the meal. Very Christmassy with gorgeous fairy light decorations. Reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended.
T. w.
Really great service, extensive menu and would recommend requesting the tables by the doors to outdoors. Perfect halfway between inside and outside!
D. O.
Excellent service ,short menu and wait time for the food but very well prepared and presented. Will go again.
S. B.
Lovely meal in a lovely venue. Stopped in for a lite lunch. The soup was delish and hit the spot followed by a vegetarian pasta and decadent chocolate bread pudding. A bit pricey, but everything was fresh and delicious.
H. P.
Excellent central Oxford location and choice on the extensive menu. Good cocktaiks too. It can get very noisy due to the hard decor, but none the worse for that. The patio area at the rear gets very busy. Great location for grouos
D. E.
Excellent venue, food and service. We were seated outside in the garden area which had plenty of shade and a lovely atmosphere. The service was just right.
A. C.
The restaurant was charming and having the piano player was an added treat.
My wife entre pasta with pulled pork ragu,
was excellent, however my meal, seafood pie. was a disappointment. There was almost no seafood and the pie was potato not pastry. In the end it was ₤12.5 for mashed potatoes.
L. R.
Lunches are great but afternoon tea and scones are best ever. A restaurant that you just want to stay in and enjoy the atmosphere, good food and drink. Bonus: really great restrooms!
W. W.
Lunch was lovely, freshly cooked by a chef with a passion for food, locally sourced and prepared.
Staff helpful, friendly and passionate about their craft!
Recommended!
J. C.
My wife and I had a fantastic time we were celebrating our anniversary, the food was amazing perfectly cooked the people very welcoming with amazing personality! Worth every penny!
K. B.
The food was delicious and great quality for the price. Service was faultless and the restaurant had a nice ambience, with a subtle piano player and large oil paintings. Surprised Quod doesn't have higher reviews, definitely recommend if you are in the area.
M. T. N.
Great atmosphere and the service is awesome.
J. L.
I love this place. Great food and ambience with fabulous staff including the charming tall chap on the front desk and the excellent Alejandro who looked after our table. Beautiful outdoor space too. Highly recommended
J. S.
I have recently visited this restaurant what a lovely place, It was cosy, clean and the service I received was great.
What really made my evening was the pianist! She was outstanding just what the place needed! She very much impressed me and will definitely go back again to hear her play.
D. B.
Wonderful setting. Price fair. We asked to be seated in a better place and the waiter was very kind.
P. A.
Very good but noisy.
A. D.
The food was quite good but the service was absolutely appalling in terms of in attentiveness. The staff was polite but lost!
P. M.
A lovely set menu meal with friends
J. S.
Great kerbside presence, welcoming front desk, attentive staff, nice menu choice, fresh tasty food. A very pleasant visit. Recommended.
J. S.
Excellent food, interesting menu. Outside court cover could so with a bit of a cleaning but does not effect the food and service
D. R.
Attractive restaurant, good food and reasonable prices. It was very busy when we ate there, quite loud and a little bit frenetic. I would imagine it's nicer during the week.
J. B.
We like to come here, atmosphere is very good and staff and food is very good. Disappointing this time as the pork belly main course was all fat, both servings. I would recommend not ordering it.
C. B.
Always enjoy coming here. Had a lovely evening sitting outside listening to jazz (Sunday evenings from 5, you can ask for a table outside when you arrive). Food was full of flavour, crab linguine for me, and service was good if a little uneven at the start.
m. g.
Eclectic, upscale menu....modern... clean decor...get a window seat.. enjoy the ' people watching'
P. S.
fantastic breakfast, good selection and very tasty. Service is friendly and polite.
L. K.
The building, setting and ambience are always inviting but the food was pedestrian and overpriced. I chose the rosemary lamb cutlets from the grill and received three lamb cutlets, a small portion of chips and a dull sauce with a few leaves of lettuce. All very simple to prepare and at £28, including service this is overpriced. Perhaps I chose wrongly but I have been to the Quod Bar many times over the years and leave with the same feeling: I like the idea of going there but leave disappointed.
A. D.
Fantastic staff, tasty food, beautiful interior full of art 🥰
Affordable which is impressive because from the outside it looks expensive and posh but actually it’s very nice and cosy restaurant.
I will definitely come back to try different mains!!! ⭐️
A. C.
Decent enough place, kitchen service a little slow bearing in mind where it is, and the house white is significantly better than the house red, which I would avoid.
Nice atmosphere, clean, and friendly staff, so they get a lot right
D. W.
Popped in here for scones and tea and also to check it out for a future dinner visit. Bit disappointing as it looks lovely from the outside . Scones were small and jam was mediocre quality. Service was okay.
S.
One of the best meals in Oxford. Great everything, great staff who are good hosts and serve you well being their working hours. Nice place to chat and get some meetings out of the way
K. W.
Cocktails are too sweet and syrupy. Disappointed.
M. B.
Has improved a lot. Great atmosphere and good food. The pizza is still very underwhelming, but everything else surprisingly good. Can now confidently recommend.
T. R.
Best to book in advance as it was very busy. Sat outside in the sunshine and the set menu was delicious. Highly recommended.
M. S.
Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff
M. Y.
Looove it!!!! Lovely inside and outside space for eating. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. ALWAYS!
M. K.
Great food ,freshly cooked by charming staff
S. A.
Lovely, delicious and fine
M. H.
Reliably good food. Air-conditioned inside and outdoor terrace. Sea bass carpachio was wonderful.
H. a. r. r. y.
Good all-day food menu (+ relatively reasonable prices) and attentive staff. The cocktail menu is nice, but beverages on the whole are far too expensive. I wouldn't recommend going on your own dime.
J. M.
Great fish of the day and superb cheesecake with salted caramel. On the top of this, Andrea took very good care of us. What a Professional!
W. T.
The staff is cold. The food is so so.
O.
Very nice food and atmosphere. Thanks Vanessa, thanks Andrea.
Y. K.
Steak was very good, but catering staff wore very cold and we wore not made feel welcomed, empty plates wore left on our table for much too long (more than 10 minutes) and the butter served with the bread beforehand was as hard as a rock, you could kill a bird with that solid butter... Interior and good steak didn't match the service ... I don't think we'll be back, considering GEE belongs to the same owner - will try that restaurant next time we leave London for Oxford
C. K.
Good food and service, convenient as we stayed in the hotel. More expensive than other smaller restaurants in the area, especially for the afternoon tea. Bar has no draft beers available.
T. E.
Wonderful, Oxford based, restaurant serving fresh, seasonal food. Only ate their fish dishes, but each one was excellent.
g. t.
Good service nice place good cocktails
T. T.
Had the spinach pizza here.amazing Italian Style.will definitely come here again
R. P.
Good place - with very good menu, pleasant service and fair prices. Note the inclusion of a service charge, which may well be deserved, but strikes me as un-British: (why) is it legal? Excellent location and plenty of space.
W. E.
The Quod is in the heart of historic Oxford and looks out onto the High Street and the University Church opposite. There are lots of Colleges nearby as well as the Radcliffe Camera. The Westgate shopping centre (if you like that sort of thing)is a short walk away as are other shops. The set lunch menu is good value with seasonal ingredients and changes fortnightly.
W. B.
Expensive. But fine. Low vf£.
J. V. R. G.
Excellent restaurant all around, brilliant food and staff, is one of those places were you can see why you pay a bit more. We were all pretty impressed with the food.
S. P.
excellent, private room, great food and service
J. L.
Average food, laking in taste and seasoning
A. T.
Great restaurant, really classy but not overly expensive, & obviously a top chef in residence because food was excellent.!
L. S.
I cannot speak highly enough of the friendliness, professionalism of all the staff. The Food was of the highest standard. Highly recommended.
S. T.
A very enjoyable lunch chosen from a varied menu. There were ample vegetarian options. The service was first class.
M. L.
Pre ordered food and it was still slow - menu had changed slightly so a different sauce came with the meat but no one bothered to address it. Service was hectic and staff seemed stressed out
M. J.
Very good service, always polite and helpful.
They have very nice outside area that can be used in the summer. Recommending the place.
A. W.
Lovely dinner and polite service.
L. T.
Over priced and didn't live up to expectation. It was noisy, a bit pretentious and the food was very average, the poached pears were awful.
L. K.
I liked the lunch here, tasty cod and good wine selection. Staff was attentive and nice. Nothing outstanding though.

S. H.
Great ambiance, luxurious, I love it. Nice food as well. Must try for a special evening out
J. D.
Very nice afternoon tea on the back patio. Would have been 5 stars if not for the massive number of yellowjackets (wasps) that were rather annoying.
B. H.
Sharp but unobtrusive service with a smile. Great food from a wide-ranging but not overpopulated menu. No pressure to leave before we were ready.
J. B.
Nice variety on the menu. Can eat inside or out. Pleasant atmosphere. Worth paying the 12.5% service charge on the bill.
D. G.
Great location and atmosphere. Some of the dishes are a little overpriced for what you get, but the setting more than makes up for this.
S. C.
Food is decent and service is excellent. If day it is not high-end, but it is definitely query if directed occasions. Good vibe as well.
J. T.

This has become a restaurant that my partner and I regularly use. Great food, attentive staff and a beautiful setting. The Caesar salad is the best !!
J. N.
Good value buzzing brasserie in the heart of Oxford. One of the few places with outdoor seating right in the centre of town. You can usually walk in without a reservation.
O.
Meh. The food is fine, the menu not very good. The place itself is quite nice, but doesn't do much for me. Not somewhere I'd choose to go.
林.
Recommendations are perfect. Lamb is so good. They also serve fast and kind.
Easy to order even I’m Japanese.
I want to visit again.
A. R.
While the ambience is great and the service is nice, the place has very little to offer for a vegetarian.
The food is pricey for what's on offer.
D.

As ever, Quod was the perfect location for a leisurely lunch. Even though it was very busy, we were well looked after.

This is very expensive for cheap tasting food. I guess if the surroundings are very important to you it's okay but otherwise you're better going almost anywhere else

Amazing service, nice atmosphere, food perfectly cooked and served, then again, it's kind of what you expect for the price...

You can always get a table, and the food is often good. The main issue here is that both the food and service is rather variable.

Great atmosphere, how ever found both our meals very bland. Which was a shame as the staff where great.
