Great food. Welcome at door left much to be desired. I started to ask for a window seat but the guy was half way down the aisle already before I could ask or before he even said welcome. So, we say in the darkest corner where we were put. The waiter however was very sweet & helpful. Food was delicious & I would definitely go again.

WOW! What a fantastic meal and excellent service by Jade, Macie and the team who greeted me & my friend warmly at the door and showed us to a clean well presented table. I went for The Pitmaster which consists of Spiked maple glazed pork belly, a half rack of BBQ ribs and sticky BBQ chicken wings, with a chunky tomato salsa. Served with mac 'n' cheese and dirty fries. To begin with the food was served piping hot! The ribs fell off the bone and the chicken wings were amazing! I can only describe them as southern fried with a sticky bbq sauce. The pork belly went down a treat along with the chips. My friend went for the Sirloin Steak, mashed potatoes, peas, tomato and an onion ring. The steak again was served piping hot and cooked with care. All main meals come with free unlimited salad from the well stocked salad bar. Due to the covid restrictions staff request that you approach the bar and they will plate your salad for you. Overall the general appearance of the restaurant is presentable. Staff are highly trained, execute excellent customer service and are attentive and clearly take pride in there work and the appearance of the public areas. An ample car park is on offer adjacent to The East of England Showground Stadium and a hotel. There are many restaurants in Peterborough, some are good, some not so good. Jade and her team make the Harvester Alwalton an exceptional experience suitable for the entire family, friends and a firm favourite of so many.

Really great service, it's a pain not being able to do your own salad because of covid restrictions but the staff are awesome and accommodating, more than happy to get you what ever you want. Food was tasty and came quick. Definitely improved from when I was here last years ago.

We visited on a busy evening. We had asked for a side table as we had our children with us who are on the Autism spectrum, this was arranged no problem before arrival. Geraldine our Server was amazing. She took our order straight away and brought everything out in good time. There was 5 of us and all our meals were great, everything looked and tasted fab. It was our first time at Harvester in a very long time and really enjoyed our experience. We shall be back.

Went in not long before they closed the kitchen( we were those people!) Evie was delightful and Phil was lovely. Kitchen did a banging job on the food. Ultimate mixed grill and a full rack of ribs. Came out hot, tasty and plentiful. Got them a drink in for after work as it was so good!

Family, table for 5 (walk in), late afternoon, just as it was getting busier. It was good to see the salad bar again, and meal options catered for our varied tastes. I would have rated 5 stars but my wife's sirloin steak wasn't quite as she hoped, a bit raw and chewy. However other meals were spot on. Amazing burgers, and my daughter could take the wings from the starters and combine with dirty fries for her meal. Also, shout out to Charlie the waiter, who was both polite and helpful.

Food was OK but not the best I've had in a harvester. Salad bar greatly reduced from my last visit. Very short-staffed, one person seemed to be doing the lions share of the work. Mixed up drinks order twice due to been short staffed. Staff member supposed to be serving from salad bar but as it wasn't manned continually some people were helping themselves. Was going to order a coffee and dessert but as it took so long to get someone's attention we ran out of time and ended up just getting the bill.

Our visit was exceptional! Our server Charlie was amazing In every way from helping my indecisive partner decide the options to her meal, to the outstanding service he gave to us when ordering. The Havester is a great restaurant with great food and even better with employees like Charlie wanting to make it a better place to eat at. Would highly recommend to anyone to try out.

Also salad bar and sauces had run out of several items. Normally when I have been salad bar has been well stocked. Shame as I feel the salad bar is one of the key reasons people visit.

Visited this harvester many times but today wasn’t great. Staff are lovely very welcoming but the food was a very poor standard today looked half arsed thrown in a plate. The waitress offered us complimentary desserts which were nice so alls well that ends well. On a plus side you can get your own salad finally!

Lovely customer service. Some of the staff came across as young and therefore inexperienced, but it was still great to see them make an effort and give 110%. I held back one star because of lack of attention to detail, specifically being given a dirty glass that had old lipstick marks still on it 🤮 this was resolved with no offer - an extra nice touch would be to offer a replacement drink?

My meal, battered halloumi and our daughters meal of ribs was fine. Husband and grandson asked for sirloin steak but was informed it was unavailable. Charlie the server said there was a 12 oz rump so they opted for that. They had to ask for steak knives as the steaks were too tough to cut with the normal knives. This has happened twice before to my husband where the biggest percentage of the meat was tough and inedible. Very disappointing as it was our grandsons birthday. They will not be choosing steak again in Harvester. They were given complimentary desserts.

Awesome meal today, double chicken burger and half rack of ribs. Ribs were juicy and falling off the bone and the burger was a bonefide mammoth! Our server Gee was amazing, great sense of humour and clearly knows the menu! All in all a great experience!

Tried to order a sirloin steak, but didn’t have that so got a rump (nay bother). Asked for peppercorn sauce…only had Stilton and I’d rather drink toilet water. So…no sauce for me. And requested no peas…and they pea’d all over my plate and there was no mushroom but they didn’t tell me that but again nay bother. For 15.99 the pork belly my mum ordered looked like it came from a micro pig (was very small) My partner ordered the “true blue” burger. It was drier than ghandi’s flip flop, the lettuce despite the dry burger was wilted and the Stilton was weird and fluffy and overall unpleasant (I could have told him that but my aversion to it is a bit different) The waitress Gee was VERY pleasant and welcoming (deserves a raise if you ask us)

Love going here always have when I lived here....prices have risen alot since last time but food was still tasty....have to commend the staff as there was a chap in there kicking off and they handled him really well considering they were only doing their jobs. If your lucky look underage for a drink definitely carry your photo ID. 😊

-Menu was very limited, no sirloin or ribeye steaks, reduced desert menu and no sweet potato fries. -Cajun chicken was really nice quality and flavour, went well with the peri peri sauce offered. -Steak was terrible, overcooked and poor quality (gristly). First time in 3-4 years I've had to spit steak out as Im usually to chew through the whole thing but had to stop half way through with jaw ache, lacked any juice and was medium instead of rare. -Service was very good, waitress Gee was exceptional and very helpful and dealt with the steak complaint quickly and effectively by talking to the manager and offered a free dessert which was appreciated. She was absolutely the redeeming feature of the evening and turned what couldve been bad into a very enjoyable visit 😊 -Overall would come again but possibly when the kitchen is restocked, will put it down to supplier problems 😅

Another fantastic meal at Harvester Alwalton for my daughter in law's birthday. Excellent, friendly service from our waiter, Will, who could not have done more to make us all feel welcome and comfortable. Our food arrived promptly and was hot and super delicious. We would have loved to enjoy 1 of the sumptuous desserts but unfortunately we were very full after enjoying the complimentary salad and our wonderful meals. In all honesty I haven't been to a Harvester since I was a kid and I wasn't expecting much but I was really pleasantly surprised. Staff were polite and professional, especially Charlie, who served our table. He was helpful with menu choices and dietary requirements. We hadn't booked and it was Sunday lunch time but were quickly seated. I had a vegan burger and my partner had the quarter chicken, and we both really enjoyed it. We would definitely go back. Visited harvester today, I was hoping for a roast as it looked like the type of place that does a good ol Sunday lunch. Unfortunately they don't do them. How ever they do have a wide selection of meals ranging from wraps to steak grills. I had a lovely bbq chicken with bacon and cheese. Very nice. On my way to the bathroom I walked past the kitchen that is all open planned so you can see your food cooking. They have a massive grill that they cook the meats on. I would say the prices are fair, you get a free salad bar with every meal as well so you will never leave hungry.

Was very happy with my visit, All the food was very good and quick to come out, steak was cooked perfectly thanks to whoever cooked it. Service was very good and very speedy. I had a work trip in Peterborough and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express next door. Came here for dinner both nights and had a great meal each time. I was served by Robbie on the second night and he is definitely an asset to your team. So bubbly and attentive to everyone who's dining. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. If ever I'm about in the area again I would definitely return. Ps, the cherry pie is incredible. 10/10!

Brilliant service had 3 people with 2 different allergies at the table (with 9 people on the table) delt brilliantly with the allergies. Also other people have had things changed on there order and they where just acceptable with that also. Very apologetic when they did not have an item on the menu (which was very understandable being boxing day and probably 2-3days after latest delivery) which we felt was comforting and was very thankful for. Food was amazing also.

Hi I came in after my race for life and Katie was my waitress. She was polite,friendly,had a good sense of humour and it was nice to be asked if I was allergic to anything. I asked for beans instead of peas and Katie was more than happy to sort that out even when I'd been brought peas by mistake. Place was pretty full. Teach me to go anywhere on a Sunday. On seating I was warned there was a limited order of rib eye steaks. Hurried to the bar to order one as there was no seating available at the restaurant. Nice sunny day so the blview from the bar seating was pretty good. Food took an hour to arrive. Steak was ok. Staff was friendly and extra helpful.

The food was good, although their prices seem to have aky rocketed, we had a voucher for 50%off so didn't matter too much. We ordered soft drinks and even though we were asked if we wanted refillable ones we were charged for 5 drinks instead of 3. Each meal arrived with 2 lots of chips which was a little strange, showed up on the bill as 'double chips' which we didn't order! If we had had 50%off I wouldn't have given 4 stars, check your bills! Also you have to be served the salad bar, which I understand due to covid but I think perhaps its time to do away with it.

Visited a few weeks ago and shall be honest, wasn’t over the moon with the food, was still good but wasn’t at the high standard it usually is. The lovely lady sorted this out for us straight away and resolved everything. We then returned this evening to be served by Jade and everything was spot on. From the moment we walked through the door and the lady recognised us from the last visit and assured us all would be good, she gave us a lovely table and just as she assured, everything was better than good. I was really excited to go to the Harvester, as I was going back for the first time in years and was taking my other half who is new to Peterboorugh. It looks fantastic inside, however the service... not so fantastic. We first walked into the doors and there was someone stood at the hosting desk, didn't greet us or even look at us and told us to wait one minute. We then had another person serve us who was friendlier. We sat down and was ready to order, which was a bit of a wait, when we did finally get served, they took our drink orders then left with out saying a word, which left us confused as we started to order food. We then had to ask another member of staff if we could order food and again, without saying a word, or a smile, clicked their fingers at a waiter and walked off. The food was lovely, service was quick and fully enjoyed the meal. However seems communication is poor between staff as a lot of stafff condradicted each other, first of all the salad bar, we were told twice to help ourselves to salad, however I was soon told off for serving myself, baring in mind there were no signs to say other wise or anyone waiting. The second communication problem was the refilling cups, one memeber of staff told us we had to get served and another said we can help ourselves. Overall, the food and the look is a great improvement, however the staff aren't. Just seemed that there is a lack of training in customer service and I doubt I will want to return.

We decided to sit outside as the weather was great, the tables looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in day's and they only had one of the four non alcoholic drinks available, which was disappointing. We opted for the two meals for £14.99, and informed the staff member at this time of our intention, and ordered everything at the same time, the food was ok, but we were not informed about, or asked if we would like anything from the salad bar, which again was disappointing. When we finished and went to pay, I was informed that one off our deserts were not included in the deal, not informed when ordering. I felt that because we opted to sit outside, and the only people outside, that the staff member in question could not be bothered. My wife and I are very disappointed, and we will never use this Harvester again. I have awarded 3 stars as the other members of staff were great and the food was ok.I am considering forwarding an official complaint.

Between some tables they used some sort of cardboard separation, which is not great because it cannot be cleaned. The first time was pretty chaotic and we had to wait ages for the food, but the second time we were served quickly and everything went very smoothly. Unknowingly about my surroundings I stubled across this semi rural gastro premises that was in fact the harvester. I was positively stricken by the sheer warmth of the man made fire and the heavenly smiles delivered to me from Jade, Emma and Macie. I instantly felt at home. Then once my thirst matured and my crave for alcoholing grape rendered I was advised by Ryan to try the barefoot rosé a nip that I had never had the blessing of consuming before. I shall remember this night forever and a day. Until we meet again x

The salad that I chose was all very fresh and the serving area was of very high cleanliness and well stocked I especially liked the beetroot and different salad items all fresh. My main dish was the large Combo with Sweet potato fries. The chicken was extremely tasty and moist the ribs as usual cooked to perfection with the meat falling off the bone. I have visited many Harvester restaurants and I have to say the overall standard of service and food was of the highest I have found. All of the staff are very happy to help and treat customers like friends and family.

Lovely atmosphere with a real wood fire adding to the atmosphere. Can get really busy especially in the evenings but usually space in the bar area if you're happy to eat through there. Not much hardship it's just a little more open and can get a bit noisier but service just as good

Visited with my partner who uses a powered wheelchair. Very accommodating staff who shifted bookings around to find us the best table. Good wheelchair access and disabled toilet in good condition. Food quick to arrive and good quality, not Michelin star but that's fine by us. The menu didn't mention that their 'craft beer' is in fact bottled ale - no problem there but if you want draft beer you need to ask for it. Would visit again.

Perfect for breakfast, highly recommended! However for evening meals I'd give it a miss. The salad bar looked very sorry for itself in the evening service however breakfast was immaculate! After been told What we wanted they diddnt have we settled for fish and chips. The fish was tasteless and full of water and the batter was so oily and greasy it made it impossible to eat let alone enjoyable. The 6 chips we each recived on the side was a nice touch......

The building layout and decoration are very nice, and it is easy to find. I enjoyed my meal, however we did have some problems with a couple of other orders in the group. The staff were friendly and dealt with the problems well. Overall not a bad experience, but would probably not go back.

Typical harvester, good wide choice of menu so something for everyone, salad area was topped up regularly and cleaned each time a member of kitchen staff walked by. Toilets were spotless and smelt clean & fresh. Our table server was Shane, although he was rushed off his feet he exceeded our expectations a young man with bags of personality which so many youngsters are sadly lacking these days. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Great place to come as they have loats to choose from and some really good food choices as well as their complimentary salad bar. Went during covid and they are very good and show you their new rules which to be fair are easy and effective. Members of staff are always great bit been coming here for years and also been looked after very well by Mel who has always helped and looked after us all. Today I got the bone piecemeal which normally costs £20 got for half price so great but was surprised when got this as thought would have a lot more wings than three as you can get a full rack for £15 so your paying £5 for 3 wings plus you get a few chips in a metal cup. 3 out of 5 for the meal and 5 out if 5 for Mel.

I've been eating for the last 4 nights while staying at the Holiday inn express next door. The service has consistently failed to impress,except for the team leader on Tuesday night. It takes an age to get seated despite numerous staff walking past, coming up to the door to collect menus, one night 2 girls stood and argued about who should be on the door while 5 people queued out the door. Once you get seated the food is typical harvested chain, nothing special, yet not cheap. I hope the bloke going round the restaurant isn't the manager, however would explain a lot about the standard of service. I've now lost count of late orders, grumbles and moans that I've heard. Apparently there is a nice pub called the cuckoo not far away, but not tried it.

A warning atmosphere on entering the restaurant thanks to the real wood fire place. Fair prices and good food. Very friendly staff and good service. My capucino was a bit of disaster (I think a mistake as there was no coffee added 😯 ) but quickly replaced with a proper one. Conveniently located just minutes from A1 gives you an upgraded alternative to McDonald's, Burger King, etc that you normally find along motorways but much more cosy, comfortable and with tastier food. Also, seems to me a better option when it comes to having a break from your driving.

Visited 1.30pm. Very busy. Team Leader said no table for 1 hour. Needed a table for 6 with an electric wheelchair so no steps. After visiting toilet a table suddenly became free. Good service from then on. Food excellent. Even 95 year old Mother had plenty to eat.

This is definitely one of the best Harvesters I have been to, although it is quite big it feels small as its divided into smaller sections. Salad bar can sometime be a bit sparse, although this does seem to be a theme across all Harvesters. I recommend eating here!

Used to eat here often but first time for a couple of years and it's changed. Salad bar contents was not overly appealing, cost of a main meal was high. £9.99 for a burger which was literally a burger plus a small portion of fries. Burger was tasty to be fair. Had ice cream sundae for pudding which was half melted when it arrived. You can add toppings to this like mint Aero balls for 79p . For my 79p I got 4 balls... Nearly 20p a ball, wow! Never again. Left feeling a bit disappointed with it all apart from our lovely waitress Alisha

Only problem was we were over charged for kids drinks as they charged us twice didn't tell us kids drinks were included with meal and as they only had a fruit shoot each they charged us again. Love the welcoming log fire, choice of bottomless flavoured Pepsi colas. The salad card with choice of sauces and bed rolls are a super addition to the main meal at no extra cost. Combo 83 & sweet potato fries is yummy with spiked maple sauce. Did anyone mention desert? Good choice, but I had to watch my figure on this occasion.

Returning from a business trip to london we called here on the way back for food and drink. Overall we werent disappointed. It was around seven on a friday evening and the tables looked almost full, our waitress 'Krissy' quickly found us a table and left us with the menus. It did seem a while before she returned but as I said the place was full and the staff were clearly working as hard as they could to get everyone sorted. We chose the fish and chips - I have quite a high expectation of this meal and I am happy to say it was one of the best tasting cod and chips Ive had in years!. There was a salad bar which you could help yourself to - which all tasted fresh. I ordered a pudding but was told it wasnt available, Krissy suggested the cherry pie which I decided to have with icecream - bringing it to the table I noticed it had custard and icecream, Krissy said she couldn't remember which id asked for so put both on. Pudding wasnt brilliant to be honest, I wouldn't recommend the cherry pie!. A couple of 'loud' groups were seated close by and an adjacent smaller table with two lads that were knocking drinks back like they were going out of fashion - all made for a very noisy experience, we certainly couldn't have a quiet conversation! . It was a very busy time when we visited and it was good to tell that many of the guests were from the nearby motor cycle show. Would I return - yes I would. The food was great and our table staff (Krissy) was 'genuinely' friendly, polite, and doing the best she could. No gents toilets available so had to use the disabled one. Plenty of carparking.
