L. B.A lovely old building and a decent menu. Our steak pies were delicious
k. V.Fantastic place to eat, would highly recommend it there. Took a party of 13 people and all the food came out at the same time, hot and all cooked perfectly. The desserts were freshly made and tasted amazing.
The service was impeccable and really can't fault them.

G. E.Visited in April 2021 just after pubs reopened. Had a lovely time sat in the garden with a nice pint. Didn't try the food but looked on with envy at other tables as it looked fantastic. Only thing I didn't love was the music playing out during the afternoon on a Sunday which was a bit too much of a party vibe for a quiet Sunday but I suppose the kids like it :)
A. S.Lovely place to sit outside for a lovely lunch. Had the sea bass with samphire, potatoes and tarragon sauce… lovely! Recommend that you book as it can be busy - popular place!

G. M.Very friendly, good food and a warm welcome. Great place for a large rib eye steak or my favourite the mixed grill. Chef took the time to visit each table and ask how the food was. Will definitely be going back. We were a party of seven, having starters, main course and deserts, the service was very good.

W.Been twice..was there Sunday 20th march..Sunday roast was to die for..probably the best I've had lashing of gravey..my only gripe was needed more roast potatoes as they are soooo good 3 wasn't enough...and strawberry cheese cake for dessert wow..the owners really know how to cook and so friendly and welcoming I go to Peterborough 3-4 times a year I will visit for a roast every time..so if your in area its a must.

S. N. A.Had a wonderful meal for 4 last night at The Golden Pheasant. We ate in the bar as there was a function on but this was fine as we got to see the owner in action with is hosting skills and banter. Food cooked by his wife/chef was wonderful and all homemade. Definately will visit more often.
E. J.We had a impromptu meal here on Saturday early evening. A table was free for and hour and a half.
They had a small outside menu until they return back inside.
I chose the salad with dates strawberries balsamic vinegar. Yes it sounds a bit weird but the vegan block cheese was heaven. So much so so ive gone and bought some.
The salad was divine....
The wine a little too pricey at £7.15 for a large.. id probably have a cider when we next go back.

K. D.Nice pub with lots for the kids to do outside. Take a football and they are in their element. Wasps can be an issue in the summer which spoils it a little bit, but it’s not their fault. Recommended.
B. C.A very friendly place to go and eat . The food is all cooked fresh and seems like it's all homemade . There is a decent little play area outside and even a mini golf course which my kids loved . Had a really relaxing time . Top marks to all at the pub .

T. H.Stopped in for an outdoor Sunday lunch during Covid-19 restrictions (meaning indoors wasn't open). Friendly service and tasty pizzas (we had the Meat Feast which was fantastic and the BBQ chicken which was also good).
I had a half pint of bitter with my lunch and you can tell they know what they are doing cellar wise - was absolutely perfect. Don't know if they are CAMRA rated as didn't look around inside but I wouldn't be surprised if they were.

Next visit, Wednesday 26th August. Lunch with family members. Food was delicious, all dishes were excellent. Service was very good, mine host was very attentive. We will be visiting again next time we are over. Well worth a visit for food or just a few drinks.

A. D.Excellent village pub. Recently refurbished and now lovely inside. Very nice food at lunchtime and very friendly staff. This place had gone downhill a bit in recent years but the new people running it have clearly put in a lot of time, effort and money to turn it around. Nice menu, great beer on tap as well. Would definitely recommend.
J. L.Had a Christmas meal at the Golden Pheasant this week and was very impressed with the quality of the food. The three course meal was served in timely fashion and the food was delicious. What impacted me most was that prior to the main course being brought to our table, the chef personally asked how I liked my roast beef cooked. Attentive service and a good selection of real ales as well. Heartily recommend.

P. G.I visited this pub for lunch with a friend and a very young toddler and was awestruck at the professional and friendly welcome from the manager, who went out of his way to ensure that the youngster was well catered for.
The food and drink were superb, I had a toasted panini served with a well dressed salad which was very tasty. The beer was well kept an the cup of tea following came in a large tea pot and was brewed to a good strength.
The building is beautiful, with a sense of grandeur throughout, whilst still retaining an informal intimacy. There is a large beer garden and a decent sized car park. If in the Peterborough area this pub is well worth a visit.
V.What a find!
A really great pub and restaurant with truly wonderful food, attentive, spot-on service and a charming proprietor.
This was the best Sunday roast we have had in a long time. Both the beef and the lamb were succulent and tender and the veg, plentiful and cooked 'al dente' accompanied with perfect roast potatoes. This really was proper 'home cooked' food.
The deserts did not disappoint either, all were fabulous, particularly the apple crumble and custard!
To top it all off, the gentle background music of Northern Soul and Motown was awesome!
We highly recommend this place and both ourselves and our friends will be returning.

T. P.Visited after part Covid restrictions lifted. Facilities and dining/garden well signed and managed. Wouldn't go at night as too cold, but they do offer to borrow a blanket for £5.00 or you could buy one for £10.00! hmmm!!

M. C.Five of us visited for Sunday Lunch and we had a friendly welcome and very good service always checking if everything was ok. We had a Sunday roast and the need and pork belly were cooked to a good standard.. There was a variety of seasonal vegetables which were also cooked well. 3 had Etton Mess as dessert and two of us shared a cheese board which was very well presented with variety of cheeses an fruit. Probably best I have seen. It was an enjoyable visit with appropriate banter you left feeling comfortably full.

C. D.Lovely setting peaceful and lots of tables to eat outside in the sun. Food mediocre service slow though told 20 mins as cooked fresh. We had chicken fajita and tuna mayo fajita. 20mns???? Salad was a few paltry leaves only. Very disappointed.

W.Proper vegetarian options on the menu which makes a delightful change from Hobson's Choice when 1 of our party is a vegetarian (she sometimes has to cobble a main meal from a selection of starters at some establishments). Plenty of choice on the menu too for meat/fish eaters too! The table sizes are great with plenty of elbow room! (is it me but some restaurants cram 4 people to a table, so you end up playing Tetris trying to fit plates, bread baskets, glasses, bottles as a meal progresses)
The host and waiting staff are friendly and very welcoming. I bet in summer this will be a great place to visit to eat al fresco!
Also has a decent size car park too.

Excellent service, amazing food and good prices... We had my friends and me to share king prawns pil pil, chorizo and jerk chicken as a starter (todo espectacular) and main courses I had the liver, one of the best lambs liver that I ever try.
We definitely will come back and bring more friends

R.Went for Sunday Lunch with my parents, my father is visually impaired and my mother is deaf, my daughter intolerant to peanuts, nightmare customers, the staff were brilliant the chef came out to discuss alternatives for my daughter then went to a lot of trouble to fillet my parents sea bass (not one bone was left) The food was lovely, my parents thoroughly enjoyed their delicious sea bass and my dad even ate all of his huge tart tatin with his specially made custard.
