Sat in the outdoor area with our dog! Very cold day and the wood burner hadn't been lit, instead a very small fan heater which didn't warm us up. Nice lunch and helpful staff. Very good wheelchair access! ♿

It was such a lovely area to visit. There is a nice bicycle path around the lake and great playground for the kids. It us possible to hire s bike, canoe and boats in the small place by the cafe. Very tasty falafel burger and fish fingers wrap. Lovely view towards the lake, the with for the food was only 10 min. We had a fantastic bike ride around the lake too. Lovely day out for all family. At the lake there is a small area fir children to paddle. We also had a ride along the river. Really pretty area. It takes about an hour to walk around the lakes. Two cafes to choose from. Bike station right by one of the cafes.

Good range of outdoor seating. Indoors clean. Tomato sauce dispenser very posh- but splurged all over me and the next customer. Vegetarian breakfast came without the beans and no apology or substitution. Filter coffee is pleasant.

The place and surroundings are excellent with the Lakeside view and atmosphere is uplifting. Food is OK but the chicken burger is dry and limited choice in menu. Would love to return for a breakfast.

The food is ok, but they won't serve you until 11:30 so no good if you want an early breakfast or something to eat for lunch before going for a bikeride. Ordered toasties and they weren't toasted enough for the cheese to melt so my son didn't really eat much. After waiting for them for a while I didn't want to wait any longer to ask them to cook them properly as we had hired bikes and didn't want to waste any time. The outside area is handy for people with dogs or bikes but it was swarming with wasps, which is noones fault but didn't make sitting outside very nice.

I would just like to thank one of the staff at the lakeside cafe for been honest and trust worthy for finding my phone at the payment parking metre after I had done a good deed to a young lady giving her my last pound coins and change as the machine wouldn't accept her 2pound coins. As I was looking for change I put my phone on top of the meter machine. Then left Ferry meadows leaving my phone behind not know I had left it and drove to 2020 buffet in the Peterborough when we arrived i realised i dint have my phone and had to drive back to Ferry Meadows. The cafe was closed but found the staff room and inquired if anyone had handed my phone in? They said yes a member of staff found it and handed it in. In this day and age there are still decent truely honest people out there so thank you lakeside cafe your staff are truely what makes a great place worthwhile revisiting.👏😊📲

Great place to stop for coffee & a cake or lunch. Very good choice of gluten free & vegan dishes, homemade cakes & incl a gf/dairy free cake. Pictured is a gf chickpea & falafel burger which was delicious. Dog friendly inside & out with views over the lake. Toilets also in the building incl disabled facilities. Car park a short walk away & there is easy access from the car park for wheelchairs / buggies. Handy for cycle hire / outdoor centre.

Nice hot chocolate and cappuccino and cakes. The hot meals coming out of the kitchen looked nice so will return for lunch another time. Staff were all young and friendly. Nice choices of where to seat, even an enclosed area with a fire so that customers could eat and drink and their dogs could join them. A little pricey but they don't have any competition near by so probably why.

We got married at Lakeside Kitchen in November 2021. The wedding was last minute and we had just 7 weeks to arrange everything. Louise, the events organiser at Lakeside Kitchen, was absolutely amazing. I'm sure we wouldn't have managed it without her! The venue was beautifully decorated and the food was great (and everything was very reasonably priced). We can't recommend this venue and Louise's expertise enough.

Of all the lakeside cafe's Lakeside kitchen is certainly one of the better ones. Food generally to a high standard, staff very pleasant and the indoor/outdoor dining area is great especially on a sunlit evening. Dog and cyclist friendly. Certainly recommended after a long (flat) walk around the lake.

Myself and my now husband held our wedding reception here, it was amazing. The staff took care of everything, we didn't have to do a think. The decorations were lovely and so was the food. I ordered my cake from a separate cake company which was a disaster but Claire and the staff at lakeside kitchen and bar saved it for us and made it look amazing. The food is OK. The drinks are good. But both are overpriced. Be prepared for a long wait in the queue if you visit on a weekend. Every time I've been here, I've waited in the queue for upwards of 15 minutes to order. I would recommend to the managers, that more staff are required at weekends, when it is always busy.

Great place to eat and drink with lovely views of the lake. But WHY don’t you wipe down the tables and pick up the overnight litter before opening in the morning? If it’s rained overnight and the tables are covered in water or dew, the customer has to use serviettes to clean before sitting down. Why doesn’t someone have the task EVERY morning to make sure the outside seating areas and decking are clean for its customer?

The Lakeside has a fab location, and we managed to get some drinks and grab a table outside. The price is a tad on expensive side, although I guess you would expect this considering location. I was disappointed about the volume of rubbish laying about, and the bins were full which meant people had started to stack rubbish in the tray return area. Can't commend on food as we didn't have any, we got there later in day and they close a fair bit earlier than the park close time!

They have an indoor dog friendly part so if it's cold you can enjoy a warm drink or snack in comfort. When the weather is warmer it is nice to sit outside and look over the lake. Their main restaurant is pleasant and they also have a bar.

There is a reasonable selection of hot or cold food and drinks plus daily specials. Staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The location gives a fantastic view of the lake and there is a large patio seating area. Inside is clean and the tables are quickly cleared. The hand-made burger was tasty and well cooked. Prices are on par with similar establishments. A nice place to take a break after walks around the lakes.

Lovely views out on to the boating lake. Dogs on leads are welcome outside or in the conservatory, but for that reason these areas can get very busy and, with some restless dogs trying to play and sniff, these spaces can be a little entertaining too, with bumping tables and tangled leads. All the cakes on sale are delicious and made on the premises, meat and bread is sourced from renowned local businesses. And most importantly, it's all really good value.

Great place to visit. Great breakfasts and interesting menu with specials. Looked a new modern building and really goes out of their way to welcome dogs inside or out or even in a modern conservatory. Parking nearby paid for using ANPR. Great location overlooking the lake and water sports centre. If you visit Ferry Meadows you must go.

They've got parking as well or you can just have a walk if you are staying at a hotel nearby, i assure you gonna love that walking through park and the silence of nature! 😊 Swan shaped paddle boat for rent if you find it fancy!! 😃

Wonderful sunny day in October saw the outside terrace full and enjoying the view across the lake. We had lamb burgers which were really good, I would recommend them if you get the chance. Inside is warm and cosy and there is a small but innovative menu. All the food looked great. They also have an inside area especially for dogs, with a log burner, owner's are allowed in too.

Great location on the banks of the largest lake in Ferry Meadows, Peterborough. The food is tasty. It can be a bit noisy at busy times because of hard surfaces. Popular with walkers and families with dogs. Prices are a little higher than average for Peterborough area, but the location is great.

Good view of the lake when sitting on the veranda outdoor seating. There is also a completely enclosed area where you are allowed to take your dog if it's too cold outside. A great coffee is sold here, not tried the full English breakfast yet but it looks good. Staff friendly and I would say Barista trained. A great place for a break in your walk. This was my first every visit her and I was very impressed. Not only was the cake and got chocolate scrummy, the view was amazing. But what sold it to me 100% was the fact that I could take my little dog. They have a dedicated dog friendly area where owners and their pooches can enjoy the view with a cuppa. I think they also do warm snacks but I just had hot chocolate (with whipped cream and marshmallows!!) Whatv did the dog have?? A barking match with a cute little spaniel!

Had been for a walk around Ferry meadows and this place was in the middle of it. Staff were excellent. Didn't have anything to eat, just a cup of hot chocolate and a can of diet coke, which came to just under £5. This is where the problem lies, everything is way overpriced. A full English is £9.25 and a cookie is £1.95. Far too expensive. I appreciate they have to make some profit, but that's extortionate.

Firstly as a caveat, I love food and have high standards when it comes to eating out. I have eaten twice now at Lakeside and have been really impressed with the quality. I thought it might have been a good day when I first went, but my second visit this weekend proved just as tasty. Visit 1 I had a special which was a wild boar burger. Visit 2 was a pulled pork brioche. My wife had scampi both occasions and little touches make the difference, like the quality of the tartare sauce. I would definitely recommend you make a lunch or snack pitstop when having a walk or ride around Ferry Meadows.

Just visited yesterday hoping for a nice latte sitting on the decking but the place is swarming in wasps. I know it's that time of the year ,but nearly every table had remnants of either spilt drinks or food over them and the actual decking itself isn't much better. The place needs jet washing EVERY MORNING with some sort or cleaning fluid, we were there at half 9 in the morning and it was bad so to sit there eating at lunch time must be horrendous. Please don't ruin the place as we are walking the dog 3-4 times a week and its in a lovely spot.....Just dirty

A fantastic place for a private party. BBQ for 18 people to celebrate a 70th birthday. Everything was arranged to perfection, and the staff were friendly, attentive and professional. Lovely food appreciated by all. Highly recommended.

Lovely setting but can get a bit crowded in the summer due to the great location. Go in the winter as well in the freezing cold or when it's rainy and windy and grab a hot chocolate at the end of your walk. Lovely.

A favourite haunt whatever the weather as we can take our dogs in the fairly recently added dog-owners' extension, which had welcome heating in the winter. Sausage sandwiches, with mustsard, and bacon sandwiches are a favourite with Grandad and grandchildren. Lovely views across the water and a nice relaxing atmosphere, inside and outside.
