Always a fabulous experience at Middletons. 1st fell in love with the Restaurant chain in Middleton itself but Peterboroughs branch is spot on. Steaks cooked to perfection. Staff always friendly and helpful and all reasonably priced too!

Visited this restaurant on a Monday afternoon. Gave the 10 oz filet steak ( 33.95 GBP at the time of this review due to 5 00 supplement surcharge ) requested at medium-rare a try. Steak was at the requested cooking stage and ok. Staff was friendly and attentive.

We had our our wedding anniversary meal here, staff were great and attentive, it was a Sunday and the roast dinners looked good and great value however we went off the main menu wife had chicken pate with onion relish for starter and fillet steak and I had calamari and surf ( half lobster) and turf ( sirloin steak), was very nice. Been to Peterborough before, stopped for lunch with the family on the way home from Lincoln. Friendly staff, helpful, good selection of food and deserts. Not rushed, enjoyed what we had and would go there again if in Peterborough. Would recommend it.

The place was lovely and the staff were friendly, the only small and tiny criticism I have is they couldn't keep up with our large party of 25 of us, a bit slow with keeping the drinks coming, but the steak more than made up for that it was cooked perfectly, we all had our steaks cooked differently, rare to well done and everyone said how good they were cooked most of us had the prime 3 course meal package which was £19.95 and an extra 3 pound charge for the rump steak with a starter and pudding, well worth it I would highly recommend this restaurant, there isn't any in London area yet but the closest is Milton Keynes check the website.

I had fillet steak and chips. I ordered the steak medium rare and that's how it came out and it was delicious. In my opinion the chips could of done with an extra couple of minutes to give them some crispness. After the meal I ordered a pina colada which was extremely bland, I couldn't taste any hint of pine apple of coconut which was disappointing. I came here last week for my partner's birthday and we both loved the food and service. So we decided to come back today for our anniversary and everything was exceptional! I would recommend the garlic and chilli prawns for the starter and definitely the 12oz fillet for main as they are just amazing. The steak melts in your mouth and tastes amazing! The staff are extremely welcoming and even on a Saturday night when the place is packed I felt the wait time was rather short.

great food and service! Came here for our anniversary because we had heard good things. Fergus was our waiter and was very friendly and helpful, he got us started with a bottle of wine. Food was wonderful, we had the butcher's chipolatas too start as well as the brie wedges which were huge chunks of brie, warm and gooey, very nice! Then both went for a ten ounce sirloin with dauphinoise potatoes and a blue cheese sauce and the other with sweet potatoes fries and peppercorn sauce. Both steaks were wonderful and cooked perfectly. Too sum up, great place, good staff and amazing food. We will definitely be going back!

Went for a works meal tonight to celebrate our belated Christmas, upcoming birthdays and just the team successes. We had a good time and enjoyed the steaks. However the service this time was appalling, long waits for incorrect orders so this suggests that either the waiting staff didn’t listen or the kitchen couldn’t read. It wasn’t particularly busy, but even if it was it doesn’t excuse below par service. Plates taken when still eating, something I cannot stand as it’s just rude. The deserts that aren’t as stated and very poor however these were taken off the bill, but also putting a 10% optional service charge on the bill is not the right way of doing things. If this wasn’t noticed we would have ended up out of pocket for the service. Normally I would leave a tip, but like I said the service was below the usual standards. We choose to have all our team meals here because it’s normally a great place to go. This occasion was not the normal standard hence the middle of the road score.

I took my wife here for her birthday. I had booked before hand and was shown to a table straight away. A bottle of chilled water was poured for us. After ordering a bottle of wine we then ordered our meals. Everything went well and the causes were brought to the table with a nice 10 minutes inbetween. The food was very nice and the service spot on. We paid £80 for wine and 3 causes. Id recommended this place for a special occasion.

This isn’t my first time here. I have been here MANY times. Always worth the trip! I always have the garlic mushrooms, which was lovely!! & my sister had the chipolatas, who doesn’t love a chipolata! They’re so nice and juicy. I ordered a cheese burger as a main. I didn’t realise the burger bun had sesame seeds on it, so I mentioned it to the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen and they cooked me a fresh ‘naked burger’ with no hesitation. My sister ordered a steak baguette. That looked amazing and the steak was cooked to perfection! Lunch time menu price is amazing! You really do get value for your money. See you soon middletons!

On the whoke, it was a good experience and very friendly staff. However the beef satay starter was very tough and I could not eat some of it due to this. As an occasional customer at Middletons since its opening I had come to know what to expect. A decent (steak) meal in decent surroundings. However, my last visit was a disappointment. 3 of us had starters and mains plus drinks. The bbq ribs were overly sweet (sugar rush type sweet), peri peri chicken wings bland. The sirloin steaks were OK and cooked as requested but the peppercorn sauce was quite watery. In all, the evening was OK but not as good as it used to be meaning that sadly, we are unlikely to return.

I definitely recommend going to this restaurant. Me and my fiancé got seated straight away. Immediately got our menus to order. The drinks are really good. The food was absolutely amazing. I had a steak and there was very little fat on it, very easy to cut into i could've cut it with a butter knife, it was also very juicy. The service was very quick and the waiter was bloody amazing and so friendly we just had to give him a £10 tip. We will definitely be going here again. Absolutely the best place for a nice steak. ❤

Finally a decent steak house has arrived in Peterborough which is a cut above the rest. Service was exemplary and the staff were both friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and clearly very proud of the local produce. The company started off in Kings Lynn and now have grown exstensively across the East of England with an impressive seven restaurants in the chain. I had the 12oz Ribeye Steak served Medium Rare with a side of Potato Dauphinoise and Bernaise Sauce. The dish arrived with a very small pot of mushy peas which wasnt necessary. However the steak can only be described as a work of art and the chefs clearly know how to cook the perfect steak. The cut had perfect marbling through out and was succulent and rich in flavour. My friend had the 12oz Sirloin Steak. A good Sirloin Steak needs to be cooked carefully otherwise it becomes chewy and overcooked and Middletons definitely cooked this cut perfectly. It was rich in flavour served Medium Rare and served with a balsamic salad. The restaurant offers a comprehensive wine menu mainly focusing on Red wine. We shared a bottle of Tierra Antica Merlot which was balanced, not too acidic and offered subtle notes of Cherry and berry fruits. Above all Middletons Peterborough is worthy of a 5 star rating. They are the only restaurant in the city to offer both Porterhouse and Chateaubriand cuts both equally priced and Ribeye, Sirloin and T-Bone cuts in 3 different sizes 12oz being the biggest. I shall definitely be returning soon

The steaks were well cooked to our liking, however our desert which was the middletons sundae was so overpriced for what it was, it was basically a sundae glass filled with vanilla ice cream, a small dribble of chocolate sauce with a minstrel sized piece of brownie at the bottom, definitely not worth the money. We waited a while for the bill as staff are so rushed off their feet. Considering as you can see one of the dishes is definitely overpriced seeing a 10% service charge )that says “optional” on it) added onto our bill already seemed very cheeky as we were not asked wether we wanted to pay it.

We went on Saturday and there wasn't enough staff for number of tables and was very noisy. I was not happy to see the 10% "optional" tip was already added to our bill. I dont mind tipping when get good service but whilst the waitress was polite and friendly getting the bill and waiting half hour before we gave up and went to till ourselves to pay. The disabled persons toilet was used by anyone and as a wheelchair user it wasnt nice to go to a toilet and find urine all over the seat and floor. Put radar locks on.

Just one night in Peterborough and decided to eat at middletons. The place looked nice there were a few people in and the food looked good. We walked in and asked for a table for two. We were asked by a guy behind the bar whether we had booked. We hadn't. He apologised and said they were fully booked. Strange considering one side of the restaurant was maybe 30 percent full whilst the other side was completely empty. We went outside, went on their website and booked a table online. Plenty of slots. Walked back in, spoke to the same guy and told him we had a table reserved for 2. We were shown to our table by another person. I asked why we was told that they were fully booked when they clearly wasn't. Somebody must have just cancelled was the reply. Clearly a lie. So..... not 5 stars. But 4 for the subsequent service and food. A bit pricy but the food is excellent. We do hope to return but we will make sure we book a table first. It did appear after spending an hour there that the issue may have been lack of staffing. Just be honest with the customer

Food is excellent and service is generally good, but 'optional' 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill, and some staff get very confrontational if you do not pay this in full, even when service has been slow or otherwise not great, which can ruin an evening. Steak cooking times are also approximate, each time I've had different results with 'medium rare'!

The food tasted amazing. We had ribs and chicken. Great food service and price was reasonable. One criticism was our good was served on wooden boards. I hate that and if I'd of known before hand the waitress said I could request it plated. A small point on otherwise fantastic visit. Will go again.

On book a table it says there's a 20 minute grace period and to call if you're going to be more than 20 minutes late. Not 6. It set a really negative tone for what was actually a lovely meal. Food was faultless and the staff (other than the rude front of house) were attentive and polite.

We had a lovely meal here on Good Friday evening. We hadn't booked as it was a last minute decision, but after a couple of minutes at the bar pursuing the menu, we were escorted to our table. I figured maybe they would have some of the issues ironed out so decided to give it another go. Negatives: After being seated we were advised that there was quite a wait for mains, which I would have rather been advised before being seated. Couldn't really hear the waiter as the music was far too loud. Not a huge amount of space and sat very close to two other tables. As per the waiter's advice the mains did take a long time to arrive. From arriving to leaving was just shy of two hours for a standard lunch time meal for two. Positives: Food was good for the price. Wait staff all friendly and quick to turn over tables.

We went for the 50% off deal in August. Great service. The only thing was someone had put our booking name down wrong! But the person on front of house was very helpful and knew how to tell that it was us, so didn't take long to solve the problem :) They explained to us how it all works now due to COVID & I LOVED the scan and view the menu online, we ordered quickly and the good came out pretty quickly also :) The kids menu I think is great value for money, 2 dishes and a drink for £5.95 & three for £6.95 & it already comes with a choice of fruit shoots :) (also the brownie was amazing!!) (yes I stole some of my child's brownie, it was totally worth it) I also had forgotten to take a photo of this! :( It filled me up and we throught the taste was amazing. My partner could have eaten a whole nother portion (he's more of a cheap meal & loads of it kind of guy) (but then you don't get the quality) he did however really enjoy my sweet potato chips I had ordered, to the point now that I have to put sweet potatoes chips in our food shopping! Prices where fair for the type of restaurant it is and they kept to all the COVID regulations :)

Visited on valentine's night which was busy as you would expect. I had really high hopes and left not disappointed, but not wowed either. Water was brought to the table but no glasses which we had to wait for. Drinks were ordered and I was brought the wrong drink twice. Not the best Middleton's I've been to (have also been to the Norwich and Middleton branch). The staff are very slow to get things done, we asked for a prawn cocktail with the Marie Rose sauce on the side, told this would be fine but when it arrived the sauce was mixed in. When challenging this we were told that it was prepared earlier on in the day and couldn't be separated - so why weren't we told? It was also missing avocado and all we got was a half hearted "oh sorry" .Every time we ordered a drink it took about 10 minutes to arrive despite there being 4 staff behind the bar. The food itself was fine but the service was lacklustre compared to the other branches .

Both dishes were really tasty. Our boys chose to have a main meal and dessert but there was a bit of a wait for these. We were in the restaurant for nearly four hours! As we were a party that didn't bother us too much but if there had just been two of us it might have become tedious. I would point out that it was a fairly quiet Monday night BUT the service was AMAZING!! Absolutely perfect! The servers were prompt, friendly, and genuinely seemed happy to help! The food was beautiful (but it was last time too) and gone are the excessively long delays between ordering and receiving!! I even managed to get the dessert that I missed out on last time! It was a really lovely evening... Highly recommended to all carnivores!! Original 2017 Review: A potential steak lovers paradise! Gorgeous steaks cooked to perfection... and the dauphinois potatoes are heavenly! It loses stars for the poor service! Clearly a young inexperienced team who need to learn but not during the evening peak! There was very long gaps between courses and when re-ordering drinks (at £5 per mocktail, I don't like waiting) a delay made so much worse by the fact everything was repeatedly taken to the wrong tables! And then running out of items... member of staff confirmed my dessert order "you've got the last one!" only to wait 30 minutes to find out it had been given to someone else. I was then rushed into making a snap choice, without a menu, on an alternate. Most restaurants who make mistakes would offer a free alternative. The food is good but the level of customer service could make you question the price tag.

Went for lunch today just to get out the house and make the most of the government 50% off scheme. It was a really nice meal, staff were attentive and really well trained. COVID measures in place were really reassuring, all staff wearing masks and tables were spaced apart. The only let down for me was the bread roll I had for my steak sandwhich. It was really dry, almost dusty and it hadnt been toasted before they put the steak on so all the meat juice soaked into the bottom of the bread making it soggy with blood - maybe the steak wasnt rested for long enough I dont know but a minor niggle. For 2 lunch time meals and a drink each came to just £13 a bargain for a nice lunch, make the most of the government scheme and head to middletons!

Visited at lunch time and so took advantage of the 2 course fixed price offer of £8.95. I opted for the burger but without the cheese and relish and for fries as a side dish. Wasn't that quick to come and out the two of us, one order was wrong. Might be worth getting the waiters to read back the order to your customers as from the reviews on Google, it seems like this happens a fair amount. Burger was okay but it just did not taste of anything. As the cheese and relish were left off it came with literally just the burger and a very small amount of lettuce, nothing else apart from a burger bun. Might have been fine if the burger had been good but unfortunately it had no taste at all and it was a bit dry. It was nice to have a burger which had obviously been made from scratch instead of a beef patty but please season them a bit and it will make all the difference. I make my own and as well as very finely chopped onion I add honey and an Oxo cube plus salt and pepper. Pudding of sticky toffee pudding was lovely and made up for the burger a bit. Not sure I would go back as I was a bit disappointed with the burger plus it was very noisy inside due to the high ceiling and music playing too. Found it hard to hear my friend over the table at times. Service was quite slow as mentioned in other reviews but the staff were nice. Took a while to get our food.

Food undercooked, staff were nice but broke few dishes in our sitting area and keep forgetting to bring our orders If you are going out to enjoy your evening and want to enjoy your company, meal and drinks and not thinking whether everyone have what they need then go somewhere else. Poor customer service when it comes to arranging party night out as we have to keep calling them to make sure our booking is confirmed. Wouldn't recommend for bigger night out.

When you consider they make all their own puddings it does seem a shame. Time to buy in, maybe. I will go back though just for the steak.

Great selection on the menu with options for changing items as well. Reasonable price, but early evening does not get my vote for great service.

Will always come back, seems to be one of the best restaurants in the city, the fixed set menu for less than a tenner is pretty good too! Only downside is the drinks list and their prices, would love a better gin selection and cocktails!!

Service is key when eating out and i felt like the skeliton crew and small number of bar staff could have been increased to provide a better exoeriance for myself and the 3 other people i invited to join me on a buisness meal. The quality of the food is verry good however the cooking was not of that what was expected, 2 people has semi-raw chicken. The chicken should have been properly tested before serving and when raised to the manager, a simplebreply of "oh these must have been missed" now i can understand missing one meal however missing 2 meals and serving under cooked chicken is bad practice. I very much enjoy the idea of having a food venue such as this however i belive that the comments i am raising need to be adressed to make it what i should be. This could be thr number 1 place to eat it some more investment ( not just finacialy) is given

We had a table reserved for 7. We ordered our starter it came quite quickly but then our main meal we waited anothee 50 mins for after 2 hrs i had to go and move my car to anither c park. I waa gone around 20 mins came back but no dessert waiting! We had been there at 1 30 and left a 3.45 we woyld have stayed to say good bye to each other but some of us had tickets for the pantamine which started at 4pm one of us was in an electric wheel chair we made the show with only 1 min before the start. It was great that you had know gf options than mentioned but the time between the courses was far too long! Over 2 hrs was far too long. All ordered at once so no delay but over half an hr between each course.

I visited this place recently and was disappointed.... I thought I will get a nice grilled rack of ribs, but it was just boiled maybe grilled a little bit and dipped in souce (which was supposed to be sticky🤔), tasteless!!! Please learn how to cook ribs properly. Chicken breasts were supposed to be spiced, but I think the chef just forgot to spice the meat when cooking. But the cocktail I had was really good. If you want a propper grilled foods, don't go here.

Went there for the first time and was very impressed by the quality of the food, the service and the waiting staff. Had 3 courses - Middleton's Board(Ham and Leek Croquettes are amazing!), 22oz Porterhouse with Dauphinoise potatoes(had the steak medium and was perfect, ranks up there with the best I've ever had) and then finished with the Creme Brulee which was good. Good variety of alcohol on offer, got some Lagavulin which went well with the steak. Would definitely recommend for any lovers of steak!

Restaurant has a lovely decor and nice busy atmosphere, we where greeted at the door and shown to table by a happy enthused server who explained the menu, etc. Starters where very nice would definitely recommend the ribs, the main courses however where a little disappointing as burger was quite bland and didn't taste freshly grilled, I was dismayed to be served by three different people as I feel it's nice to have a personal touch and deal with the same person, I felt the service was lacking somewhat due to such a young inexperienced team who where stood around having loud conversations dotted around various parts of the restaurant. I will visit again I'm the future as I have visited a Middletons elsewhere before and was very impressed. I think Peterborough just needs to get over its teething problems.

Peterboroughs newly opened premiere and only steakhouse does its main job right, it does a mighty fine steak, also does delicious looking chicken and ribs but being a purist I just had a rib eye. One downside is that when busy the staff seem to leave you for slightly longer than I would've liked although my dad enjoyed the longer breaks saying that it helped his food go down.
