H.JUST INCREDIBLE. Never been here before but took a chance mid week and had the one of the best Chinese meals for ages. The staff were so attention and helpful, guided us through the menu and how to order. There was so much food and it was lovely. We will 100% be back!

This restaurant is ALWAYS fully booked on weekends, so we recommend going on week days. We have been on a Thursday and we have received a great service. Truly recommend it.

S. W.Ordered take out the other night via just eat, the food was amazing and piping hot when it arrived. All the wonton and spring rolls were crispy and full of flavour. My beef in black bean was a little salty, however still tasty and tender. The portions were massive and all of the food was so tasty. The prawn toast was nice and meaty too. Only thing that could maybe be added would be a freebee offer for orders over a certain amount like other places do as we spent over £30 for the two of us. Besides that I can't fault the place! Best Chinese take out around by far and fairly priced.

The price is mid range so is more of a treat than every week takeaway and has a wide range of dishes on the menu . Definitely be ordering from here again
B. E.Went here on a whim and had one of the best deal Chinese meals I've had for a long time. To be fair, their 'buffet' offer is not a buffet at all, but excellent value all the same.
You choose any 6 starters and any 6 main courses for £13.50 per person. Any dish can be re- ordered for free, and any soft drink can be topped up for free. Well worth a trip any day of the week.
I'll certainly be going again.

S.We pretty much come here for any and every occasion for the last 7 years because the food is great!! but unfortunately the female manager's service and attitude always puts us off to the point it has forced us to find somewhere else. Always complains of a left over food (It's never loads) and moans when ordering more.. on the buffet! When she is not in or the male manager is present then it's a good experience.

T.we have eaten here for years, the food is always good, however when being served by a waiter in a woollen hoody and not so tidy trousers,it makes you wonder who's cooking the food too. decor looking very tired and certainly cold, not great when your out having a meal. for the years this has been open really feel it would benefit them to have an inside porch door built to keep the place warmer. for the first time i really didn't feel that the meal was worth the money.

M.Visited on a Monday evening and the restaurant was a steady night, greeted by the female manager I can only assume, very pleasant. Seated promptly.
we opted for the chinese buffet.
it's not a buffet as you order what you would like, however this worked well as they confirm they will make more just limits shrinkage I believe.
Portion size was more than enough for two people as you order 6 starters, 1 wrap (duck,lamb or chicken) then 6 mains.
Starters was seaweed, smoked chicken, traditional BbQ ribs (tasted very sweet not bbq), satay chicken, mini rolls, Japanese chicken. (We like chicken haha) We ordered Lamb and it was very fatty but Lamb we find can be hit and miss regardless of where you eat it.
Our mains came out and we had a wrong dish but didnt have the heart to tell them as we was full anyway. But it should of been lemon chicken not sweet chilli chicken, we had special rice, noodles, beef with ginger and spring onion, crispy beef (o/h loved this). All the food was piping hot, the service was fast when you finished your meals sometimes to quick as you wanted a breather in between courses.
Had two ladys serve us the lady who seated us and another lady both very polite and attentive.
Bathroom facilities was clean and tidy with hand soap replenished and toilet roll available which is good in a smaller restaurant.
Only downfall is there parking situation, the restaurant only holds 5 spaces so you have to park elsewhere to attend the restaurant.
Would rate 4/5.

D. C.One of the best Chinese meals I have had in a long time! I have ordered the set meal C on two occasions and have found the food to be of a very good quality! The beef isn't chewy or fatty, the chicken/pork balls are really good and the meat almost falls off the spare ribs!
Having been a loyal customer to my regular Chinese I feel Shanghai Garden have now won me over!
I have also recently sat down for a meal in the restaurant and once again I was very happy with the quality / quantity and price of the buffet.
F. L.This restaurant ticks all the boxes. The food is top nosh oops I mean top notch. The Asian and the non Asian staff are very very good and interact really well with the customers. The buffet menu is great. It has lots of choices and you can happily revisit the first course any time you Like and as often as you like. Its not a cheap place but neither is it bank account emptying either. Its always our first choice when we want a guaranteed good restaurant trip out.
D. C.Food tastes good, but i have a serious concern about the 'beef' in their chow mein noodles. Extremely soft and doesn't taste like beef at all. I have a weird feeling it's a different animal and plan to investigate
