Myself and partner came here at the weekend after spending a few hours in town. We were delighted with this hidden gem in Peterborough! The food portions are excellent - we elected to share 3 starters between us in a "tapas-esque" fashion and we were delighted. Craft beer selection varies, sometimes full of hits other times not so much - but entirely down to personal taste. Overall; food is great, drink selection is great, prices are very reasonable and staff are exceptionally friendly. What's not to like? Oh I forgot to mention they also have a large outdoor seating area!

This is my fourth visit and sadly this time my food was nearly inedible due to the sheer spicy heat. As a table of 6, we all found our mouths burning, even on dishes that's normally mild. That aside, the service was good. This is one of the more pricier restaurants, but that could be down to everywhere increasing their costs.

It was a slow start experience, noone came to take our order, the manger of the restaurant was observant and attentive, the table we were placed at was not cleaned from the last customer as it was sticky. The food was nice a little less then I was expecting meat wise though the quality of what was served was very high. Cocktails were also nice we'd recommend the watermelon with Gin - 3 of 5

Visited on opening night with family for my birthday and it made my night! The staff were fantastic, but it was the food that really blew us away. Every dish was superb, I couldn't fault a single thing. The food all arrived at the same time - not always an easy thing to achieve with a large group! We will certainly be returning again in the near future and telling all of our friends what a wonderful experience it was!

Booked a table of 6 in advance for a Friday evening. We turned up and was immediately seated. Server took our drinks order and left us to look through the menu. We decided to have mixed grills, naans, onion bhajis, dips and a few other bits. The naan was absolutely amazing! the bhajis were massive and so tasty the mixed grill was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. The place was full yet our servers took great care of us, little slow at the end getting the bill (but every table was full) so couldn't fault them. Will revisit again in the future, really want to try some of the actual curry's.

What a great experience! The food was very fresh and flavorful. They change their beer selections weekly, so if you’re up for trying new things, there is always a great choice. The restaurant itself had lovely decor and a great laid-back vibe. The curry sauce is not very spicy and very tomato-y, but still delicious. We will definitely be back soon!

Had our team Christmas meal here and overall impression was excellent, the food well cooked, prepared, presented and plentiful. We went for the festive menu selection as this was the easiest choice for us. I remember this place as Nationwide. Liked the interior decor, the seating arrangements were good, our table was round the back near to the kitchen area. Staff where all very friendly and they kept our table of 9 busy and supplied! Throughly recommend a visit or 2.

Visited on a Saturday evening and as we were early we were able to avail ourselves of the bar area. As it partly sells itself on the craft beer offering we were keen to sample what was on offer. This was the major disappointment of the evening. There wasn't much to actually choose from as beers were either off or taps were being used for more conventional beers. Once our table was ready we were shown to a nice table in the corner. The service was good and we were able to get advice on ordering particularly as we were unsure on portion sizes. We ended up ordering a mixed grill to share with fries and bread on the side. The food was all good - I found the Mogo chips a bit spicy but that's my spice level! The meat in the mixed grill was tasty and there was plenty of it. Overall I thought it was a good meal and reasonably priced. However as a craft beer fan I felt that was a let down. The Tandoor did good, the Tap less so.

They perhaps need to decide if the bar area is a restaurant as well as staff were over attentive and bought our beers to the table rather than allowing us to order at the bar. I have been to the tap and tandoori several times now. The first was with a group of 22 people which I had arranged with the owner, we had already send over our meal choices and the experience was brilliant. Every person received their meal together which was amazing, the staff were attentive and the atmosphere lovely. I can not speak highly enough of the tap and tandoor as well as a great selection of ales and cask beers the personal welcome is always appreciated.

On entering we were greeted with a smile and a professional manner, once seated we were seen to in very good time, the recommendations from the waitress were excellent and she was not wrong about the onion bhajis these are monsters, 2 is a portion but one is more than enough for one person the size did not detract from the taste they were delicious. I then asked for poppadoms, this is the reason for no 5 star, THEY DONT DO POPPADOMS!!!!!! WTAF a Ruby without poppadoms is like beer without alcohol "a big disappointment". After 20mins of me asking why they dont do poppadoms and not getting a clear answer i gave in, the food arrived, it was really well presented but more importantly tasted great. We then decided to sample the cocktails, having been drinking for a large portion of the day we had become well lubricated by this stage of the evening so a cocktail or two would help aid the nights sleep, how wrong were we, 2 cocktails were ordered one a signature cocktail the other a fruity flavoured one, both could have fuelled a NASA rocket, after 2 swigs I had forgotten I had just eaten a curry and decided to take up firebreathing as a side job. Overall Tap & Tandoor is great vaule for money, great tasting food and a great place to eat with friends, get the poppadoms sorted and its a 5 from me.

Cosy, yet modern. Exciting food, but not polarising. An Anglo-Indian gastropub serving authentic global beers and ales, spirits and wines with a restaurant serving top quality Indian food. The menu isn't extensive but what they do serve is always fantastic. Currys, mixed grills and a selection of desserts too. The service is quick, if sometimes a bit abrupt when serving but nevertheless a fantastic place to eat, drink or both!

Had lunch here with my son as he had recommended it from a previous visit. The food was absolutely superb and the service was prompt and well thought out. The ambience is a modern and classic Indian interpretation, but it suits the setting well. We were served by Wiki, who was accommodating as we wanted to alter our choice of ingredients. Food came out super hot and was delicious, nann breads were amazing! Great addition to Peterborough town centre and a nice change to a traditional Indian restaurant. Very average. Staff look hungry and overworked. You cannot expect good staff when you show no love. Feed the people. How can you expect ppl to stand around working all day without food? Or expect the staff to explain and sell the dishes? Even if you fed you workers for 2.00 a head, you'd make money. Typical cheap apna.

Quite different from other more traditional curry houses in town. Solid beer selection and the food is good quality. A few negatives though. Firstly, I don't at all understand why they have sky sports showing in the main restaurant, there's no reason for it to be there at all, and it only detracts from the atmosphere. Also, we were a table of 8, booked over a month in advance, and there wasn't a table ready for us... We had to wait 10 minutes for them to cobble something together. Service was ok, some of the staff seem a bit inexperienced still, and the food came plenty quick enough. I'd also recommend most people avoid the chilli based sides, they are absurdly spicy, even for someone who likes heat. All in all, a good addition to the town, and will be returning 👍

My first visit to the Tap and Tandoor and it was brilliant!! The level of service that was provided by all members of staff, the atmosphere, the decor and the quality of food was excellent. The Tap and Tandoor is an Indian restaurant with a modern twist. I would definitely recommend that you pay them a visit - reserve a table if possible as we went on a Thursday night and the restaurant was very busy.

Came here for our Anniversary lunch. Great Beers on tap. We went for the Tandoori mixed grill. Meat was gorgeous very tender and cooked well, lamb chops were the best I've had in a while. Fourth visit to Tap and Tandoor in Peterborough. This was a Works Christmas party. The food was superb, hot and presented beautifully. Beers were all great too. Staff were polite, attentive and focussed on the clients at all times, great job, given the time of year, and the pressure being exerted by diners and drinkers alike. So impressed, have booked a family celebration meal this week, daughters 21st birthday. Looking forwards to another great night out, with exquisite food, wonderful beers and brilliant company.

The novelty is that it is a pub with Indian light bites however I am a bit biased as I'm I'm Asian and I know and like my curries. My friends loved the place and it was exactly what they were looking for however, I personally wouldn't go to a pub for a curry just as I wouldn't go to an Indian restaurant for a coffee. I've given it 3 stars because it was a nice atmosphere however I was a little harsh as I wasn't overly impressed with the food. For something different I would recommend it but if you are looking for a authentic curry, try an Indian restaurant

I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars because it didn't do anything wrong, but be clear its not really an Indian restaurant, if that's what you are looking for try the ghurka in Hampton. But if you're after a very limited Indian style menu in a hurry then I'm sure this will do fine. The staff could be a bit happier but they were attentive enough.

Popped in today for the opening of Tap & Tandoor. One word - WOW! Great collection of drinks, as a gin drinker I was spoilt for choice! I sampled a few cheeky half pints of beer and loved most of them.. Big wave is a favourite and I'll definitely be popping in for a proper pint next time I'm out. The food was outstanding, the girlfriend and I shared a mixed grill and a lamb keema - incredible flavour from the keema!! I was half expecting it to be a glorified curry house but its nowhere near that, its a fantastic gastro pub with a lovely bright atmosphere! Thank you to the staff who looked after us, I'm sorry I've forgotten your names but the two people we dealt with were super courteous and attentive! The food was really good & tasty. Prices reasonable, food served quickly, we didn't have to wait too long. We had a table right next to the till where the staff was standing and playing around (at one moment they were using pens as swords against each other) which was a little bit awkward considering it is a restaurant where you would expect professional behaviour. I'm not giving a higher rating due to cleanliness...
