Had a lovely visit for lunch on Tuesday. I had fish & chips and a cup of tea. My friend had the same but with curry sauce and mushy peas. I'm not overly keen on the mush peas as I find them too thick where they should be more sloppy. The fish was cooked absolutely perfect and was lovely to eat x Will call again :)

Fish was rushed, very oily. Scampi was ok. Chips was decent. Would I recommend it? No, just because they seem to rush the food. Definitely had potential to be good if the kitchen staff worked together.

Having not been to a chippy in years, this place was a tasty and welcome reintroduction. I had the halloumi bites with small chips and a side of garden peas, which was more than enough for my ravenous stomach, so had to share with my partner. The halloumi was melt-in-mouth sumptuous with light fluffy batter, while the chips were not too greasy and the peas flavoursome. Service was very friendly and considerate. Overall, an enjoyable, affordable visit – and one I'd not hesitate to repeat.

I visited Cornwall Street Fish Bar yesterday for the first time with my two children. The kids both ordered 2 medium cheesy chips and the portions when they arrived at the table were massive. The chips were amazing and the cheese was properly melted not just tossed on. I highly recommend Cornwall Street Fish Bar not only for its great food but the amazing friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk in. If you want a proper old school chippy this is the place to visit.

We went there on Sat 20th May, Chrissie is fantastic, she greets every customer as though they are her friends. The service is quick, each meal freshly cooked and the batter was delicious, I normally leave it everywhere we have it, but it was beautiful and crunchy. The chips were cooked perfectly too. Chrissie is a diamond and as asset to the owners. 10/10 every visit.

I was very impressed by the quality of the fish and chips that I ordered, the batter on the fish was really crispy and not soggy at all like many of the other fish and chip shops I've tried in Plymouth. The chips were really lovely too, nice and golden and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fish was really chunky too, really nice big bits of white fish and it was clear that they hadn't tried to get 2 out of 1 by filleting it thinley. And tasted like it was freshly caught and fried in good oil. Service was great and very polite and smiley, I'm definitely going to the return again or get delivery from here.

Whilst on holidays in Plymouth, browsed for a fish n chips shop and got this place came up as nearest to hotel. The staff was great starting from the greeting up to collection of a regular size cod n chips. The best fish I have had in post-Covid era / year 2021. Lightly battered fish and just perfect chips for £8 was very good find. I would've been a regular if I was local.

First time ordering through Uber Eats, really impressed, best delivery fish and chips I've had by quite a wide margin. They pack salt and vinegar sachets separately so the fish doesn't go soggy in transit, which is a nice touch. If I had one minor criticism (very minor) it's that the fish was maybe a fraction overcooked, I prefer my fish a bit more translucent and this was ever so slightly chewy (everything was extremely well packed so may have just been residual heat in the bag). This didn't impact the meal in any meaningful way, which was crispy and fresh tasting on all counts. A strong 4-4.5/5, will look forward to ordering again, thank you

Dropped my daughter of at the pavilion yesterday for a concert. Was looking for a place to eat and stumbled on this fish and chip shop i had regular cod and chips and it was yummy batter crispy which I like chips was like proper chip shop also milkshake was lovely also the batter fried Mars 😋 . Went for the first time today with family and I can honestly say the food was stunning. Even though it was busy the service was great and very helpful. Would highly recommend this fish and chip shop to anyone, and I am looking forward to visiting again. Update 14.12.18 Visited again and order a chocolate brownie with custard. My friend and I, and his little girl just wanted some fish and chips in town and remembered this place. We got to sit down, choose from a menu and eat hot and freshly cooked grub for a very good price. In our case, it was a large slab of fresh fish in batter, and chips. If that's what you want you can't fault the service, quality or value.

I really liked it here. A quiet place to eat on a Saturday night away from the "Saturday night people". The food was great. The place was clean. The service was quick. The staff were polite and the price was reasonable. If I ever end up in Plymouth again I would definitely come back.

Having not been here in many years I was truly supprised at what I was missing out on, the staff are so friendly, and we got a very cheerful welcome at the door. The staff were tentative at all times. Now let's talk about the food, I had haddock and chips. It was truly delicious - not too greasy and not too dry. The fish was melt in the mouth and perfectly cooked. My girlfriend had battered sausage, which she really enjoyed. The chips are second to none, really crispy - perfectly fried. I Would recommend this to ANYONE looking for somewhere to eat in Plymouth. (They also do deliveroo!)
