Met here for lunch with 3 friends on a Sat afternoon. Lovely service, great menu choice and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend. Didn't feel rushed at all and we were there almost 3 hours.

What a lovely find. 4 of us are and drank for less than £60. This was my Kleftico and yes, it was perfect. I could have cut it apart with a spoon. The veg, for me, were perfect however, for others the cabbage was too Al dente and the swede mash was too lumpy but I liked the difference in texture. The Sunday roast that all the others in my party were described as delicious. The beef was medium cooked and the lamb (enjoyed by 2 on the table) was succulent and all were plentiful. We did not have room for desserts but they looked stunning also. We will all be going back.

Went here for their lunch set and really wanted to eat Greek that day. Took a while for the waiting staff to see us at the store which almost made us want to leave, but once they saw us service was good. For the food, I liked it my partner really like mussaka and I had a stifado, both really tasty mains and we were surprised by how large the mussaka dish was, had to take it away cause couldn't finish it. Good place to visit if you want to get a decent lunch set for Greek food

Lovely restaurant, great staff, amazing food. Only two things I would say let this place down is, 1 - the toilets are up some steep steps not helpful for older family members and 2 - the chips weren't that great. Otherwise I would have given them a 5 star.

Lovely food, reasonably priced. Drinks are great prices. You get 2 slices of French bread and butter each for the table. I'd advise booking ahead as it isn't a huge place.

Tasty food, really good value for money! Staff were friendly and the atmosphere very relaxed. Perfect for a family night out. Bathrooms are upstairs, very clean, but not accessible for individuals who use wheelchairs/mobility aids. The garlic bread wasn't as aromatic as I would have liked and the dessert crust was a little thick. They did however use home made custard. The main was well prepared, with a good flavour. There were limited vegetarian/vegan options.

Had a meal here before visiting the Theatre Royal to see 9-5 (Excellent) The restaurant was fully booked and we were pleased that we had a reservation! Seems to be a very popular eating place and the food was excellent, great portions, quite large!! I had the Duck main course and it was beautiful. The sticky Toffee pudding is really light and very tasty. Will definately go back when in Plymouth.

Always make a point at booking a table when on holiday in Cornwall. Well worth the drive for delicious freshly cooked food. You may have to wait a while but highly recommend. Book before you go so you are not disappointed if you cannot get a table.

Love Lanterns! Lanterns is a greek themed local eatery near Plymouth's Frankfort Gate, and opposite the old pannier market. The food is good, the service is better. It's only a small place so I'd suggest booking in advance. My friends and I have eaten here for special occasions many times and Ive never been disappointed.

You get a very warm welcome into the restaurant. The staff are friendly, service is fast and they do nice birthday surprises. I enjoyed the deserts i.e. chocolate cake with ice cream on top and cheese cake. The Panko King Prawns with sweet chilli sauce goes well with the garlic bread, I would recommend that. The food presentation is good and well done. However, if your palates are tuned to spicy foods you might be a little disappointed. Still go for it for the Greek experience.

We went here for my mother's birthday. Having never been before, I did not know what to expect however, the whole experience was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the menu was reasonably priced. The lamterns chicken and the beef stew were particularly good. A really nice change from our usual meals out, and we will definitely be returning at some point.

Absolutely lovely place to spend a quiet lunchtime or impromptu romantic meal. The staff are friendly and polite. The service is prompt and the meals are a twist on Anglo-Greek cuisine. An absolute favourite of mine is the Liver and Onions, the Liver is always cooked to perfection and melts in the mouth from the first taste it was like being transported back in time to family mealtimes growing up as a child. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you visit and sample their menu for yourselves.

(Detailed review below) Food & Drink ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ambience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accessibility ⭐⭐ Cost ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service ⭐⭐⭐ Summary ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food & Drink 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good menu, although due to COVID-19, some items were not available - I won't mark them down for that. The food was very good, witht he garlic mushrooms especially piquant. The souvla was off the menu, but the moussaka was very good and a decent sized portion, although I'd recommend sharing a side of chips with someone else. Ambience 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ We visited on a Tuesday early evening and because of the COVID-19 "Eat Out to Help Out" offer of 50% off the bill Mon-Wed, it was busy. The staff had to turn away people who hadn't booked, which caused upset and unnecessary commotion for the poor staff to have to deal with. However, aside from those distractions, the restaurant had a nice feel to it. Accessibility 2/5 ⭐⭐ The entrance and seating area are wheelchair accessible and on the same level, however, the toilets are up two flights of stairs with no obvious disabled toilet downstairs. Cost 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The cost of the food and drinks was inline with what I would expect to pay for a restaurant meal in Plymouth, when you take off the offer. The bill came to £86 for 4 people, but I think the drinks (which aren't part of the Eat Out to Help Out offer) pushed that price up a bit. Service 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The service was perfectly good with friendly, knowledgeable staff. The wait between courses was a little long, but given the hassle the staff had been getting from parties that hadn't booked, etc., I can't mark them down. It wasn't their fault. Summary 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I don't think I've been to Lanterns before, yet it one of Plymouth's most established restaurants. It was an absolute delight to get out to eat after COVID-19 lockdown, and I will be going back - It's perfect for the occasional treat dinner.

It was OK, but I wouldn't rush to go back. Disappointed with our meals. Mixed grill wasn't very big and had less components, compared with other local restaurants and my Souvla was just 2 pieces of overdone lamb that really hurt my throat after swallowing a particular hard edge of a piece of lamb. In other local restaurants, the Souvla is a whole skewer of lamb pieces. However, my husband did say the Steak was cooked to perfection and I did like the Greek salad that came with the Souvla....good amount of Feta on it, which you don't always get.

Lanterns has been a favourite place of mine to go for the best fillet steak in the South West for a long time now! The steaks are always cooked to perfection and some of the most tender and delicious you will ever have! I always opt for the peppercorn sauce too when I have a steak at Lanterns and the sauce is very nice and not overpowering to the flavour of the steak and accompaniments etc. I have also had the beef stifado and the moussaka previously and they were both very good. The staff are friendly and attentive and were even willing to make an affogato which is not on the menu for my father when he asked if it was possible to have one for dessert! The interior is a nice modern style with pictures of Greece and well known Greek landmarks and landscapes and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit but always worth booking in advance as on a busy night you can be waiting for a table for some time and people were queued out the door waiting for a table to become free - which just illustrates how good the restaurant is if people are willing to wait in the cold just to get a table at Lanterns as a walk-in rather than going elsewhere!

Had liver and onions not good at all running with blood as vains left in to be fair when I showed the waitress she did show the chef and then they took the drinks off our bill but still very disappointed also the waitress went over to the chef he passed over a frying pan which she took food out of with her fingers and ate then the chef put the frying pan back on the cooker not a good thing to do in an open kitchen with customers sat watching I have eaten there a few times before but am sad to say this will definitely be our last
