Reviews of Marco Pierre White

Beautiful, elegant, posh experience. Had a proper afternoon tea with friends. The service was excellent. The quality of the food and drinks was amazing. Stunning views at the top of Crowne Plaza hotel. This was my second time here. Loved it. 💜
D. M.
Fantastic views from the PH floor of the Crowne Plaza. On one side we had the sunset and then shortly after we had an incredible view of the full moon rising. Great ambience and good service.
We were a party of 4 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our menu choices of various cuts and doneness of steak served with great fries.
For dessert, the chocolate mousse was rich and smooth and the cheese plate had a nice selection.
I took off one star because we were presented with the wrong bill and lucky I caught it before we paid. Otherwise, I would highly recommend for an all round enjoyable dining experience.

Second time I've been here, the first time was a complete disaster so was hoping it had improved. Was booked in for afternoon tea, which was good value considering the location and view.
Took a while to get noticed and seated and nearly an hour to get the food. It was lovely fresh food and unlimited drinks. Think they were understaffed again
I. S.
Plenty of staff but lack of genuine interest in their customers. The wine, served spot on, quality well done. Had the steak, cooked more or less as requested, tasty and in good time, not rushed not too soon. The sorbet was Tarte but tasty. Only observation is the lack of staff enthusiasm to endear a good tip as service added to bill. Would we go back, probably for convenience as within the crowne plaza hotel where we stayed, not a top of my list recommend. But food good, compliments to the chef, shame about the waiting staff.

Ordered a table for 4 when I had visitors from abroad. Booking was easy and there was plenty of availability. Love the view out of the window! Service was very good and efficient. We had amazing dinner. Portions are generous for a good quality restaurant. We'll definitely come back.
P. S.
First ever visit for Wife’s birthday…. FABULOUS, from the view to the brilliant service & delicious food (we had the “Festive 3 Course” - will be back…. THANKS!!

Absolutely stunning restaurant being on the 11th floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel the views while having you meal make it a very peaceful relaxing experience, the food is FANTASTIC and the staff are all very happy smiley people who do everything they can to make your meal experience a good one. Thank you Tui And Katie

Tbh I was expecting a five star establishment, sadly it only made 3 in my opinion. The staff were a mixture of well trained and starting to learn employees. The atmosphere was not dissimilar to a chain restaurant and the food was good but not exactly what I was expecting from a named restaurant like this. I've had alot better food and service from places without the price tag that comes with a well know chefs name. Overall, not bad but not great either.
I.
What a fantastic venue with uninterrupted views over Sutton Harbour and Plymouth Sound.
The staff were friendly and informative, the overall vibe was informal and relaxed.
The two bottles of wine we ordered were well sourced and good quality but not cheap.
The food was simple, well cooked and well presented. However rather expensive for what it was.
It was an enjoyable meal overall.

Contemporary restaurant with very good views (ask for a window table). It has a fairly relaxed feeling with touches of style. We had steaks and can say that they were good at the price point with generous portion sizes. Chips and wilted spinach a highlight for me. There is an extensive wine list to suit a variety of budgets and palates. All in all it was an enjoyable meal.
Unfortunately the service was a little slow meaning we could only have the one course as we had tickets to the theatre 2 hours after our reservation.
I did express this at the time and it was met with a positive and professional response that should be commended.
I would go back again and think ironing out a few little attention to details could make it a very good restaurant to visit.
J. W.
Had a fantastic night, the food was excellent, very generous portions,
we were served by Megan and
Ines, really helpful and pleasant girls, made the evening that bit more special.
W. C.
Very good food, amazing views, friendly and tentative staff, above average price range

I tried a strawberry daiquiri, but unfortunately it didn't taste of strawberry which I found odd. My husband had the rib eye steak and was happy enough with it, but it was slightly chewy so I think we should have asked for it to be cooked differently. For afters I tried the ice cream and it was different, again didn't taste of the promised flavours but I'd eat it again. My husband had the toffee pudding and was very happy with it.
Z. J.
Very good booze, starters and desserts. But steaks are overrated for sure.
J. T.
Essentially it's fine. However, probably would think twice about going back as my steak was overdone and my fries served only just warm. Given it's a steak place, that was disappointing.
Didn't make a fuss and send it back at the time as I was part of a group, and didn't want to end up eating alone.
Some of the group had hoped for the creamed spinach dish as served in other Marco Pierre White restaurants, but this was not available.
Our main waitress was excellent and really took care of all the group and paid very good attention to my dietary restrictions. Service from her was excellent. Others less professional.
New to Plymouth and will likely try other high end restaurants before going back.
A. L.
Contemporary, immaculate restaurant in the Crowne Plaza. At penthouse level, the views from the large restaurant windows are to die for, stretching as far as the eye can see over Plymouth Sound.
The afternoon tea was so tasty and beautifully served, all in an environment that was very well planned out taking all covid restrictions and guidelines into account.
Definitely a wonderful experience.
m.
a nice restaurant 👍 good food and service 👍 got bribed with a line of coke to review 5 stars however i see this as no issue.
whenever i go to this restaurant i order the same thing, one mc chicken with extra mayo and every time they simply refuse to serve me. this would cause me to knock a star off but i’ve already had the coke and i don’t want anything bad to happen to me if i don’t review with 5 stars. good atmosphere and nice staff 👍
M. A.
It's got a fantastic view and looks amazing inside. Few things I wasn't happy about. They mixed up our burgers, and the amount of money we paid you wouldn't expect that. Also a cheeky service charge. But apart from that the food was lovely and service was quick. We had a lovely time.
T. E.
Have been here twice- both during coronavirus pandemic.
The best views in Plymouth, particularly at sunset.
Fantastic burgers at reasonable prices and welcoming and attentive staff.
On our original visit which was pre sunset, when there were less restrictions, our waitress let us stay for a digestif and moved us to another table so we could enjoy the sunset.
Thank you to the team at MPW Crowne Plaza Plymouth, you are an asset to the city and we hope to see you again very soon.

A nice restaurant with views overlooking Plymouth and the sea front. Cake here for afternoon tea with a friend. The sandwiches were decent...the fillings weren't very exciting but the bread was fresh & the food was plentiful. The mini cheese cake was delicious and the carrot cake was nice. I had a latte with it which was also wonderful. The only thing I'd note is the service was really slow even though they weren't busy when we arrived. Overall it was a good experience and I would come back here. Recommend.
R. O.
I came here with my girlfriend and proposed to her, the staff was very supportive and friendly. They helped make the moment special and it was non-stop smiling from the moment we got there to the moment we left. The food was amazing and very tasty. We will be back. A BIG THANKS to the staff you was great :) xx
L. W.
Bottomless prosecco tea for our sister's 70th birthday was faultless, Tui our waitress was adorable and an absolute asset, she went above and beyond to make our afternoon perfect
K. W.
Lovely afternoon tea. Pricey for what it is but a lovely experience all the same with fantastic views of the promenade, foreshore and Plymouth Sound. Mid afternoon during the holidays and it was really quite. Looking to come back here now for evening meal.
O. M.
Great family lunch, good service, food was excellent, one of the best views of Plymouth sounds. Highly recommend the fillet steak with king prawns
D. W.
So I went for an afternoon tea at this restaurant and the 1st thing we were told was there was no beef sandwiches (a highlight having done the afternoon tea a couple of years ago) so that was disappointing but at least we were informed! The staff were then incredibly friendly and bought all the drinks we wanted and then the food arrived which was all very pleasant and came with an array of sandwiches, cakes and a scone. Although the staff were friendly, they were not very attentive and I had to go out my way to get service when I wanted another drink but that didn't take away from the lovely setting!
Overall, a good experience!😀
n. m.
Excellent food at a fairly reasonable price for the level of quality. Staff were courteous and helpful. Only downside was there was quite a long wait between courses but I put that down to having reduced staff due to covid. Will definitely go again. If you're a fan of red wine I would highly recommend this cabernet sauvignon, its the perfect accompaniment to the excellent steaks they offer
S. B.
Just had an after dinner coffee. Wonderful service by staff and lovely presentation of coffee on a tray with chocolate candies and water. Nice end to an evening out.
U. A.
Food was amazing and thanks to the lady with red hair for her amazing service, myself and partner had an amazing experience.
M.
Had an afternoon tea here courtesy of a voucher from wowcher.
It came with a glass of prosecco which was given upon entry and very nice.
About 5 or so minutes and food came out. All looked very well presented.
I find the wooden thing they use to place everything on a bit odd.
Sadly, the waitress didn't explain what was what, just placed it on table and left us to it. We ended up guessing.
Anyway, I enjoyed the sandwiches, the toasted egg, bacon and tomato one was very nice. The scotch egg we had very tasty and runny.
Cake wise, carrot cake was moist and tasty, chocolate muffin type thing was nice and gooey. Macarons also nice.
Sadly we had a tea cake to end and not scones. This for me was a bit of a let down.
The cream was nice, but we were given a small glass pot of jam. Not enough for two, so had to ask for a second (I like a lot of jam).
We were waiting for our tea to be served for ages and I had to ask in the end. (They were not busy, I would say at max 8 people, woth two people serving).
It could be improved by homemade Jam and a minimum of two scones each. Or that's just me being greedy.
It is a great view of Plymouth how especially if you are lucky enough to sit by the window.
I do feel that because I got a wowcher I felt a little cheated over what I may have had if I paid full price.
Compared to other afternoon teas i have had I would put this as average I was not wow'd by it. I would rate this a 3.5 out of 5 if it allowed be to do halves.

I was invited here for lunch and had a lovely experience. There was a selection of vegan choices on the menu, some with meat substitutes. The aubergine dish I had was delicious. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. There was a separate menu for the children who particularly loved the build your own burgers. The views from the restaurant itself are outstanding.
S. D.
We've had good experiences on previous occasions, the food and service has been really good. However, on the last visit it was a real disappointment and the service was really not good at all with at least 40 minutes or more wait between courses and it wasn't particularly busy. When spending close to £400 as a group it's not really acceptable and even more so when there is no apology or explanation for the delays.
Service aside, on every previous visit we've enjoyed the scotch eggs starter, I'm not sure what they've done to the recipe but that also was a big disappointment.
Unfortunately now this is just another average restaurant.
D. M.
Lovely meal, staff were very attentive and made us feel very comfortable.
E. A.
Lovely afternoon tea! Would recommend and will be back. Amazing views over Plymouth sound and over the city
D. D.
First of all.. Great staff ..attentive without being intrusive and genuinely doing everything they could to make a great evening. Unfortunately the food was a let down. It was bland... not served hot and with cold sauces. We had 2 steak dishes and both were cold on arrival.. mine was cooked beautifully but cold and tough. Lovely venue fabulous staff but very overpriced and poorly prepared food. Save money and go to Captain Jaspers...!
B. C.
Average at best. My wife and I went to the restaurant last night and I can honestly say I won't be back.
The food was OK, not exceptional. I've had many better meals locally.
For me the clincher was the lack on interest / ability from the staff.
Having been made to wait 20 minutes to be seated, despite arriving before our booking. Not entirely an issue in some restaurants they have a waiting area, but when you're forced to stand in a small hallway, its doesn't really smack of a top restaurant experience.
After being seated, we were then made to wait another 20 minutes to be offered drinks and a further 20 minutes before anyone took our food order. Whilst this wouldn't necessarily be a problem, we were quite patronisingly informed our booking was only a 2 hour slot so that was the best part of an hour into our 'allotted' time to only just be able to our food.
Despite having a gift voucher for our meal, taken from us by the maitre d' before we were seated, the waiting staff were clearly not informed so we then had to explain to a confused waiting team that our bill should be £100 less. Whilst my steak was OK, again I've had far better elsewhere. My Calamari was good.
For me the restaurant is clearly trading on the name of Marco Pierre White rather than on his supposed quality. The staff also clearly need to take the sticks out of their behinds and concentrate on their clientele.
Lastly, be warned the 'discretionary' 10% service charge is not discretionary its added and enforced. Whilst tips are a pet peeve of mine, as restaurants rely on the guilt of their patrons to enable their staff to make a living wage rather than paying them a reasonable wage, being forced to pay for poor service is a huge 2 fingers from the restaurant.

Visited this evening with my partner for a meal out for the two of us. The food was some of the best we have had and we were very pleased with the portion size.
However, the staff were by far the most friendly and helpful that we have ever experienced. All members of staff that we interacted with were polite, well dressed, and most importantly very friendly.
We would not hesitate to visit again as it was a lovely overall experience.
A. Z.
Superb staff, very friendly and really helpful. Great atmosphere and incredible views over the city and Smeaton's Tower direction. Excellent and tasty food. This is also great place to chill out with glass of wine or cocktail after a busy day.

Great Food, wonderful staff, and beautiful views
K. S.
Excellent food and service staff knowledge all the Product food and wines
C. G.
The food, drinks and service were all exceptional and the view is unbeatable, highly recommend! Thanks so much to Tui for putting up with us ;)
B. W.
Great food, good service loads of food for fine dining you won't leave hungry.
A. B.
Fantastic view, good food and a very welcoming staff .Big thank you to Lee and Ines for making our experience special.
K. C.
Had an afternoon tea to celebrate my 50th birthday.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Lovely atmosphere with fantastic views of Plymouth.
Generous amount of sandwiches and cakes/scones and jam and cream.
Would recommend as a special treat.
J. H.
The fillet au poivre is amazing and a good portion size, perfectly cooked. I had the sticky toffee for pudding and that was also amazing! I'd read very mixed reviews but I'm so glad I decided to eat here and even better that I was staying in the hotel for a 3 day work trip. Will definitely eat here again if I'm booked in to the hotel on my next visit. Staff were very welcoming and attentive
S. R.
Absolutely stunning place. Been here for a dinner with friends and we all loved their steaks. No matter if you like them well done or medium rare, that’s the place for you. After that we finished with drinks in the lobby which is also quite cosy and they offer nice bloody marry 🤩
K. M.
Fantastic food serve and afternoon teas are to die for highly recommend this and groupon have a great deal on too ideal for a birthday or anniversary treat or even fathers day. Please book soon as it fills up quickly. One of plymouths best kept secrets
T. I.
I celebrated my birthday with an afternoon tea. Everything was perfect, the venue, the staff, the food and the atmosphere.
A wonderful way to an afternoon. We're already booking our next afternoon treat.
L. H.
Our first visit for afternoon tea was outstanding.
Great venue, presentation, staff and most importantly food.
I'm not sure what more I can say, we are hoping to return and try an evening.
T. E.
Awesome food, service, views and cocktails. Next time we go I'll be looking to spend a little longer here to sample more of the drinks. Highly recommended!
D. L.
Food great, service great, location great. Restaurant full of woucher skin flints, extremely poor.
D. M.
Service was great until we were told table had to be vacated in 15 mins as they needed it for another sitting. We had only just finished our meal. Starters and main were great ( though one of the medium rare steaks were under cooked but still nice) the cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding were amazing but the crumble was disappointing, tasted like it had been microwaved with a soggy top. Beautiful setting, good service until the end, but very expensive for overall experience. £265 for four of us which included an automatic 10 percent gratuity ( cheeky). Wouldn't go back again.
G. S.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, fabulous setting and views looking out to Plymouth sound. Food was pricey but very good. Smoked salmon for starters and sirloin steak for main with beautifully cooked chunky chips. All washed down by a dry gin and tonic with a lovely orange zest. A lovely experience.
B. T.
Had afternoon tea, this was 'a gentleman's afternoon tea' it was both gorgeous and tasty. Lovely views across the Sound too.
A. L.
Wonderful dining experience, the staff were incredibly helpful and so professional. The food was beautiful and presented exceptionally well. The view is amazing! Would recommend!
B. R.
An excellent venue with amazing views, great menu and very strong drinks range.
A. s.
Ambiance was on point, the sunset view over the city skyline was just heavenly💛🧡❤
But the food was average. The French onion soup was good but the main dish of steak fillet with shrimps, which is their most expensive, was blah..
I ordered a medium rare but ended up with a dry, under-seasoned, overcooked, wasted premium cut of meat,. Same with the shrimps, which were rubbery and bland..😐
b.
Had a lovely afternoon tea here with the wife. Delicious food and pleasant staff and ambiance
B. T.
Lovely place for an afternoon tea
Great service and lovely views
K. C.
Food was really nice and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing
D. T.
Great service. Limited menu but very good food. The wine offering was varied but expensive for the lesser end mediocre wines.
Worth a visit.
J. D.
Had the afternoon tea for two here from a voucher and it was perfect! Stipulated on the booking I was a pescetarian but my guest was not and the servers were more than accomodating for any dietary restrictions. Scrumptious!
L. A.
Lovely food and an excellent view.
Don't like the fact that a service charge is automatically added to the bill. I prefer to leave a tip so I know the server gets it
M. A.
Enjoyed a nice meal. Food cooked and flavoursome. Slightly disappointed as no one came to ask us if we wanted a sweet. Dress code seems not to matter. We dressed for the occasion not many else did.

Love it 😀. I m a regular tourist to Plymouth. Great place to have a short holiday. This restaurant is amazing. The 360 ocean view is fantastic....restaurant feels very high end but also very good value. Dishes are lovely and tasty....loved every course ....service also excellent. We are being well looked after after a tired day at St Michael s mount. Strongly recommended .
P. G.
Good food and very caring staff.
Impressive view from the top floor.
D. L.
Food great , staff just as good. Have been several times and never fails to excite the taste buds. Roll on next visit. 👍👍👍
M. O.
Nice food but with issues. Firstly we were asked for our drink orders as per any restaurant. These seemed to never arrive to then we were asked about ordering food prior to the drinks coming. This was one of 3 of the occasions we asked for drinks that did not come. I had Camembert to start which was served with a cut long roll. This was left to me to cut into smaller slices more manageable, this wasn't ideal with the standard bread knife you get at the table. The vegetarian options were good and tasty. The staff were all nice just an issue with drinks and would say a bit of finesse missing from the meal. I have eaten at the Nottingham resturaunt which was a better experience
K. H.
I went here just on a off chance as was in Plymouth celebrating my sister's birthday. The staff made us so welcome although we hadn't booked. Made us feel so welcome and brought over a glass of champagne for her. We couldn't eat as they was fully booked but they cleared a space and let us order small snacks. For a posh restaurant I was so impressed with the staff. Its not often people leave a review about this but we was made to feel so welcome I wanted to leave a review. Stunning views as well.
M. F.
Fabulous food and brilliant service. Would totally recommend we will go again. Views are stunning.
K.
We visited this place for afternoon tea to celebrate my mother's birthday. It was a sunny day so the views were fantastic out of the windows as the restaurant is situated on the top floor of a hotel. The service was a little slow however, everyone was very polite and professional. The food was fantastic when it arrived, especially the gentlemen's afternoon tea, as this not only included cakes, but a range of savoury foods as well. My only qualm was that we informed the staff that it was a special event and we were seated in the middle of the room away from all of the views. A few minutes later, some other people arrived to celebrate, and were placed right next to the window as the staff said that a special event deserves fantastic seats, so we felt a little slighted. Other than this though, it was a lovely experience.
J. W.
The food was good, the sandwiches for the afternoon tea were a bit dry and as a large group who had pre- booked, the service was very slow. It was 50 mins to start serving drinks (teas and coffees) and food was still being served an hour and 20 mins after we arrived. There was only one waitress looking after our large group who was lovely but clearly needed help. Nice food and atmosphere but service let this place down.
S. B.
Well worth a visit, fantastic food and service.
S. G.
Food was excellent , service excellent and superb views
A. S.
Had a wonderful evening in the restaurant for a belated Valentines day meal.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the lovely Nikolay, we then had a drink at the bar and could see the incredible sunset, made even.better by the fact that the restaurant is uncluttered and has plenty of space for intimacy and cozy meal.
The food itself was beautifully served, ample portions and perfectly cooked. The fish and chips was huge and the triple cooked chips were so tasty I would come again just for them. Our server Carlos had fantastic knowledge and was quick to answer my concerns about my food allergies.
Our waitress Laura had a lovely Irish charm, very friendly and clearly a good working relationship with all the staff there, especially with the other waitresses Merete and Brittany who stopped to chat to us despite being so busy. We were made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and I would most definitely go back to try all of the desserts!
More thanks to Drew the barman for our artfully presented, super yummy cocktails, he has a definite talent and is hardworking, unflappable and genuine.
Last mentions to Scott the concierge of the hotel who arranged for a big bunch of flowers to be on our table, which was a very sweet touch, and also to Darryl the restaurant manager who let us have photos in the special giant chair!
S. B.
We only had cocktails. Lovely service with great views. I asked for a Margarita made with fresh lime, no problems & was as good as I make at home. My wife had a strawberry Bellini made as she likes it. A great experience. Next time we might try the food as well
Back for a full cream tea & prosecco in October 2020. Amazing service again, fantastic cream tea. They really have everything right here including Covid practices.
G. G.
Food was good. Went on a cold and wet night so couldn't enjoy the views around the city, but I imagine it would be great views from up there. Only problem was the service was slow. When the plates from main course were collected nobody asked if we wanted dessert or coffee.
L. H.
I presume with it being the evening before the second lockdown, we had a sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, chips, vine tomatoes and a beer or glass of wine for £20.00. Enjoyed the meal though found the steak a bit too over seasoned for me. Had a lovely evening though in a relaxing setting.
S. B.
Great service, amazing food and terrific views; brilliant system for allergies too! Very impressed!
J. B.
Staff were excellent, food was very very good, menu choices varied and good wine list. Views for the restaurant of Plymouth good in early evening. All in all, a very nice experience
P. S. S. P.
Fantastic setting with incredible views over the city and beyond. Over 20 of us had afternoon tea here to celebrate a wedding. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Food was very very good and so, so much better than a well known 5* hotel we previously visited in Cardiff. Highly recommend a visit.
S.
Fabulous meal and very good service. All 6 of us enjoyed our food, especially the fillet steaks. All of the staff were friendly and professional 😄.
N. M.
Went for afternoon tea it was lovely and good value for money x
S. B.
Excellent food and ambience. Had a lovely Mothering Sunday dinner. Will definitely be back. In particular our 2yr old grandson was made to feel very special by all staff-even handed his own menu at the reservation desk (nice thoughtful touch). Can't wait to try the afternoon tea
R. W.
Had a fabulous meal here, the food was perfect
Great value for money
Service was very good
All clean and perfectly presented
Well worth the money
J. C.
Food was delicious, the view great and serving staff very professional.
One small gripe is the parking there, it gets really busy and hard to find space.
K. S.
The best espresso martinis, a beautiful view of Plymouth sound. We enjoyed are time here
B. C.
I visited the MPW today with a friend for lunch taking up the offer of the Eat Out Help Out offer. The covid precautions were tiptop, the staff were friendly and attentive and the 3 course meal for £10 surpassed expectations. Add a stunning view of the sound, the estuary and Plymouth city - a truly enjoyable experience. Thank you.
J. H.
Great posh nosh.
Attentive service.
Good location and environment
M. D.
Honestly, i thought the place felt really cheap. The food was basically pub grub under French words. I had the lamb and literally woke up 3 times throughout the night needing a drink due to the massive salt levels. Massively overpriced. It’s only redeeming feature was that the staff were lovely. Wouldn’t eat there again.
A. T.
Well what can I say a romantic meal for two.
Food was absolutely delicious scotch egg was out if this world and the rib eye was so succulent. The Irish waitress was amazing and was do tentative. Cant wait to go again x
D. J.
Our first time at the resturant, were probably the nicest steaks we've had. The starters were also very nice. Although the table service was innadequate we had about 4 different servers and no one offered to take my coat or place napkins on our lap which was expected at such an expensive service charge. We also got interrupted during dinner from drunk hotel guests at the bar. Please consider a glass divder between the restaurant and the bar or have the bar around the corner.
T. P.
Attentive and welcoming staff greet you to the best place to take in the coastal panorama of Plymouth while enjoying a delicious meal. One of few places which sell snails for the adventurous, it also does perfect steaks and pies along with a host of other options. Bit pricey, but definitely worth it.
J.
Disappointing. Having a famous chef's name on a 4-star hotel penthouse restaurant does not guarantee quality. During a quiet service to be served poor quality fillets, wrongly cooked (twice!) and menu items not as the simplified menu describes is unforgivable. The fact that Marco's restaurant is called a STEAKHOUSE makes it a crime.
The views of Plymouth Bay are spectacular but the food doesn't match up to the setting I'm disappointed to say.
L. S.
Went last night and I can honestly say it was delicious.
Arrived a week early but the lovely guy managed to squeeze us in .
Our server was called Brittney she was very attentive and very welcoming. I highly recommend you visit.
N. B.
The view from the restaurant. Really nice food. Great experience!!
A. S.
Fabulous afternoon tea today with a very Special friend...food and venue were perfect, stunning views and 5 star service from an incredible staff...thank you
J. W.
Have to say we read some of the reviews and we was worried but fantastic food fantastic staff will definitely be visiting again

Food was amazing, and the view was perfect. A beautifully cooked steak, and at dinner we had the sun set. Was amazing
J. F.
Came for afternoon tea. Surroundings are great with stunning views out across Plymouth Sound. The two staff on duty were extremely pleasant and helpful. The food although good, was dare I say a little bland considering its Marco Pierre White.
R. A. G.
Incredible food, and friendly staff.
S. K.
Staff were really helpful and cheerful even when we heard them dealing with difficult guests.
Only downside was they don't do market menu .
It's worth coming for the sticky toffee pudding with caramel ice cream and butterscotch sauce.
D. C.
Location excellent, food very good, service good throughout except when we came to pay bill. Two members of staff basically got it wrong twice (overcharged). Apologies given and accepted, we all make mistakes!
F. S.
Food was excellent. Only thing that left a bitter taste in our mouths, they messed up the bill, it was over £50 to low ( they left all the drinks off the bill) being the honest people we are we call over the waitress and told her, some 5/10 minutes later once four people went back over our bill it came back amended. They didn't even have the decency to knock a bit off for being honest. WONT HAPPEN AGAIN. should have kept our mouths shut
D. s.
Great food, lovely place, lovely views, staff are fantastic. Highly recommended
A. W.
First to be seated but staff focused on the younger couple for orders. Pepsi came but sent back as it was so weak it w paler than larger. Waited over an hour for food to arrive. Pepper sauce was as thick as frozen butter. Steaks packed flavour. Not the usual standard expected of Marco Pierre White (having eaten at some of his other restaurants)
A. T.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, stunning views and great professional and friendly staff. A great place to go for something special.
F. A. K.
I would definitely recommend heading to the PH at the Crown Plaza where they have Marco Pierre White resturant. This specific resturant is not running at the moment so the food is from the hotel kitchen. However, the view is AMAZING. Right in front of the light house. The service was also very good. Louise, our waiter, was very nice and welcoming.
J. E. M.
Used this restaurant for our breakfast meal. Very well conducted by staff who are both highly efficient and very courteous. Quality food and beautiful views of the coastline and Devonport.
A. R.
The best Burger I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few!
s. m.
Over priced. 7.95 for an onion in a broth. 18.95 for a burger with a slice of bacon and cheese. Yes fresh but stupidly over priced. 4.95 for a lemonade that was literally lemons with soda water..... Nice view though
A. S.
Great Xmas dinner and penthouse restaurant
c. M.
Food and service was great, just slightly overpriced
A. G.
Great food and not crazily expensive! Very pleasant staff. Very much worth a visit, even if only to enjoy a drink and take in the views. You can also use the hotel car park if eating or drinking here.
J. H.
The views over Plymouth hoe from the restaurant are beautiful, especially if you manage to grab a table around early evening. Interior was beautifully set out also! The staff were lovely and pleasant and dealt amazingly with my 3 year old telling me her food was disgusting (it was not).
The chateaubriand (‘steak to share’ for us commoners) which came at a little over £52, was sadly on par with a fillet steak from Lidl. While although this is not actually an insult, it was a little disappointing and for this reason, we would not order it again.
Would we return? Likely so, as the service and cocktail were fantastic and previously mentioned 3 year old, loved the fact there were flannels in the bathroom as hand towels. Which is clearly the pièce de résistance.
j. J.
Delicious, great views
T. H.
Setting was nice as was the staff food was OK but I expected a better experience for the price
M.
Prosecco marvelous, food superb, dessert delicious. Top service. Great views from windows restaurant. Thans for Ines, a lovely staff.
E. M.
Food was delicious and the service was great
a.
Great service from our waitress Tori who looked after our every need. Good venue looking out over Plymouth, good fòod and value for money. We'll have no hesitation visiting Marco Pierre White Restaurants again in the future.
L. T.
Staff were lovely but food was disappointing - steak not up to expectations. Fishcake average. Timings of courses not right. Sunday lunch here is fab but evening meals don't reach the standard of the price range
J. P.
Great afternoon tea with cakes and scones. Could have stayed all day ! Friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend.
C. W.
Had a great time late Christmas present from my daughter. The staff were very good and made us welcome and the service was excellent, food was good and good size portion very nice evening.
S. T.
Lovely afternoon tea . Great views. Staff were attentive but unobtrusive. Background music was a little too loud. I would recommend this restaurant.
J. P.
First visit back after lockdowns 15 months food excellent and service very good some staff members still here well worth a visit we both had a sirloin steak tonight cooked to perfection, well done team.
C. N.
What can I say? Thank you Cody & Katie for trying to make up for the 40min wait (from arrival) till we got a drink, and the miscommunication that my accepted order for main had been sold out for an hour (after eating my starter). Food ok, but not living up to hype and expectations. Shame. On par with the Tanner Brothers Barbican Kitchen, but sorry guys the '1620 Restaurant ' beets you both!
I. B.
Great food top marks well looked after Great views and setting will be going again 5 stars
H. T.
