Reviews of Pier One
S.
Lovely coffee stop before getting Ferry as close to the port & the views are fantastic. Felt that the service was a little "cold" and the place needed a good clean, especially the windows!
Didn't have any food so can't comment on this but coffee was fine. Main attraction is the view!
N. W.
First time visiting and would recommend to book on line to avoid disappointment.the views are amazing the restaurant is so clean and all staff very helpful and polite. The food was delicious and I couldn't fault it in any way full of flavour , highly recommend I'm definitely going back .
M. T.
Often pop into Pier One for an early morning coffee and occasionally a breakfast, before work. Stunning views to start your day with a smile. Staff friendly (table service) and the breakfasts are delicious. Can get busy, especially at weekends and weather is fine. Worth a visit.
O. N.
Good food, great service with arguably the best views in Plymouth. Had a lovely lunch today with my daughter. Baked camembert and a Caesar Salad with chicken and Bacon, most excellent and very large. Would highly recommend.
V. O.
A place for a nice cup of coffee, some english breakfast and a great view on a lovely sunny day. They have veggie and vegan options too.
P. R.
A lovely location, obviously very popular, with the best seats/tables overlooking Plymouth sound, full. It was a lovely day. The staff were friendly and helpful. Four of us had brunch and were looking forward to it. The food was well presented although not as hot as it should have been. It was palatable and tasty. Raising the matter with staff, we were offered our drinks complimentary. Well done to them.
P.
View was amazing and the food was lovely. Staff were very polite and friendly. Service was rather slow and music too loud but other than that, a lovely meal!
I. R.
Eggs Benedict woth crispy bacon, and it was excellent. The staff are fantastic and a credit to PeirOne. Toilets very clean. Well worth a visit.
R. L.
Amazing view and friendly staff. However, the price of the food is far too high for the quality and taste and the cocktails literally come from a tap which when you're paying £7.50 per drink is steep.
YOU ARE PAYING FOR THE VIEW.
However if you want to go there early morning for a coffee as the sun comes up there's honestly no better place!
C. R.
Amazing views and service was good had the eggs Benedict and was so good I had to have another. Definitely would recommend
C. M.
Solid breakfast, full size pint soft drinks, amazing view.
J. M.
Nice views in nice weather. Smokers and dogs allowed . music was a bit loud . Table service. I had a good coffee and a very nice crispy bacon bap.
Y. Y.
A place where you can enjoy the scenery while eating the delicious meal.
M. P.
I had the perfect Sunday morning coffee and breakfast. Stunning views over Plymouth sound. Fast, friendly service by all staff. I highly recommend.
I.
This place is a must when visiting Plymouth. Defo have to stop by for a coffee and just take it all in. We were lucky to have gotten a seat right by the window on the upstairs. Staff were efficient very busy so no time for much pleasantries. Coffee was lovely we didn't have food but all dishes on tables around looked fab. Will defo be back and if your in Plymouth Don't leave without grabbing a drink here.
K.
Staff very nice, good views, opening hours suitable for everyone but unfortunately nearly £4 for a coffee seems a bit ridiculous. Expensive place if comes to food as well.
m. l.
Decent view but overpriced food. Decent sausages but cold mushrooms? For the price I would expect hogs pudding or black pudding as standard.
N. W.
Impressed all around. Food was great, staff were great and prices were reasonable. Can't go wrong.
K. W.
Really nice coffee, and was not rushed, so enjoy the best b views across the sound
D.
Good food with an amazing view. Staff are very good and polite. I'm definitely coming back.
M. G.
Foods amazing! Great service. Lovely people. Lovely views over the bay and great atmosphere.
R. P.
lovely setting. amazing breakfast and the service was outstanding from the kind staff
K. C.
Excellent location. Great staff. Food a little more expensive than other locations but well worth it! Highly recommended
J. M.
First time I been to this please and loved it. This would even be great on a stormy day. Drinks did cost more then the Dock. I will be back but next time I'm bringing my dog, because they are welcome there on a lead.
A. B.
we had vegan breakfast. Excellent view on the ocean. However the tofu scrambled egg had a funny taste, no toilet roll in the restroom
L. M.
Had the breakfast sandwich...bacon, egg and sausage.
The bacon was thick, had two eggs and tasty sausages all between soft thick doorstep bread.
Delicious.
A. L.
Fabulous outdoor restaurant overlooking Plymouth Sound with some indoor seating. The food is too for for. Especially the delicate chilli burger. A great way to sit around and wind down for an hour or two. Great customer service from the staff.
D. G.
Beautiful spot. Med glass of wine n massive plate of olives £10. Don't think that's bad, given the location.
M.
The views from the restaurant are stunning and the food that we ordered arrived quickly and hot.
However it did take a while for us to get our order placed when there was only a party of 8 people in the same area as us that were already eating. It did feel like we were inconveniencing the staff by being there and wasn't sure why. There wasn't anything out to say that particular part of the restaurant was booked out for an event so wasn't sure why it felt like we weren't welcome
When we had finished everything and asked for the bill, we sat there for around 20 mins before we eventually got up and went to the other part of the restaurant/bar and ask them to ring it all up as the staff member was nowhere to be seen.
d. t.
Beautiful restaurant and bar. Food was delicious. Staff so friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Reece and Stephen. Recommend.
J. G.
Great service, lovely food, amazing views
c. y.
Ok coffee had 2 chai latte both completely different one weak and the other good
N. B.
Booked a table on the phone, got there and told they had no reservation in our name, online booking only! explained we had spoken to a member of staff who happily took our details and booking, we got given a table anyway....the menu was pretty basic, I'd say it was more of a beach side cafe than restaurant.
Four stars for location.
O. K.
Very nice food, nice view. Staff were friendly, but seemed somewhat unprofessional as they were on their phone when not dealing with customers.
N. D.
Would 100% recommend, best breakfast around
S. C.
Lovely food, reasonably priced. Dog friendly. Beautiful setting.
J. J. J.
Lovely views over the sea. The brekkie was delish. Thick toast was so good. Really enjoyed it and decaf mocha was decent.
E. B.
Not cheap but definitely enjoyable with fantastic views over Plymouth sound and table service
P. H.
Stopped by for a nice cup of tea and spent an hour just gazing out over the ocean. Lots of sail boats skimming about on the water and a few brave souls actually taking a swim in the sea.
D. T.
Nice view over the sea if you sit in the right place. Pricey but menu sounds flash. Only had a drink.
S. C.
Had a great full English breakfast with a lovely cappuccino overlooking the sea. Food was great and the staff very friendly.
L. S.
views were stunning, downstairs was very busy but we moved and sat upstairs and were greeted much more in the usual manner
M. W.
The pancakes and eggs benedict went down very well (no, I didn't eat both - that would be quite a challenge). The staff were friendly and efficient. A good range of options on the menu. A wonderful location on the seafront. Not cheap but an excellent place to take breakfast with friends (Ernie & son on this occasion).
S. G.
Nice swordfish steak and sweat potato chips with a toffee cheesecake
G. S.
Amazing location overlooking the sea and Plymouth sound. Friendly and lovely food.
s. J.
Lovely location, great food and atmosphere, looking out over Plymouth sound
P. S.
Nice view by the sea, fresh air, I suggest to have a sit upstairs
b. m.
Excellent service, staff were fast, friendly and efficient, definitely recommend! The view, drinks and food were great. Thanks Paulina!
M. C.
We had a lovely breakfast at pier one café.
The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. The sea view from the terrace is stunning.
a. c.
Have previously had good time at Pier One but not convinced they took the Covid precautions seriously. On arrival I was directed to scan and download an app to record visit but all it was a banking app that wanted all my personal details (passport, national insurance, driving licence) to use it, all it should need is a contact number so not used so they need to find a more appropriate way to record attendance.
However in between customers the table gets a very quick wipe with a reusable cloth and little disinfectant, the chairs are not wiped at all, staff are standing far too close for what is needed. Other restaurants are taking Covid precautions more serious resulting in a much more relaxed experience for the customer. Sorry but have been put off visiting in the near future what is a cafe/restaurant with great views over Plymouth Sound.
UPDATE
Now the pandemic is under control and restrictions have been relaxed we have returned and what a lovely breakfast meal we had. We all had the Eggs Royale which consisted of poached eggs on salmon & muffin topped with hollandaise sauce. It was cooked just perfect and tasted great. Oddly the staff were sanitising more than during the pandemic.
D. S.
All these photos taken from pier one while I was sat enjoying what I can only say was a magnificent burger. I also had a local draft ale and a glass of large red and all for a very reasonable price. I will definitely be returning.
T. S.
The weather was fantastic, ideal for this restaurant as the views are spectacular. I ordered the Pier One burger which was a little late. The waitress who was incredibly helpful and apologetic gave me a full refund! I did not ask, I didn't mind the wait as I was taking in the scenery. The food was A1, I could not have asked for a better meal, exactly what I needed/wanted. I can fully recommend this restaurant. Thanks again Pier One.
T. F.
Unbelievable views, excellent food and service.
M. W.
Very good sea food. The sea food plater was super nice . Very nice seating area and nice view. I totally recommend.
t. n.
Perfect breakfast and coffee, lovely staff, well recommended 😀
C. F.
The sea view was amazing and the coffee was excellent. Very friendly staff and would highly recommend.
J. J.
Great service, great food and great atmosphere. Will dine here again for definite 👍
S. C.
Food was lovely, service was slow. Rather annoyed how they practically force you to leave a tip! As we was paying by card she asked us to rate what we thought was the service but nope it was the tip! Yes we should of read it properly but it's not something you want to do while your out having a meal, the only thing we want to read is the menu. Please double check people what there trying to con you with!
r. k.
Friendly staff good coffee, excellent view. Can be opened up to take advantage of the sun
M. s.
Pleasant lunch, lovely view, friendly staff. Disappointed I had to pay 50p for a dash of lime in my Lager.
M. B.
Beautiful views across the sound. Breakfast was lovely. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going again. Could do with a small handrail to the bottom terrace
J. T.
Great views and great customer service.. we popped in for a drink and had a good time
C. R. (.
Nothing to write home about, wouldent do poached eggs instead of fried for my partners breakfast even though I was having them cooked like this. Bit unreasonable
N. g.
Lovely staff, great table service. Reasonably priced- gorgeous food.... and dont forget the fantastic views
k. b.
Lovely lunch with great views over the sound
L.

Wow, huge food portions, but so delicious, staff polite, great views, a lovely place to visit.
M. J.
This place wins top marks for the location alone.
Went there with a friend and it was lovely drinks and food.
Hopefully can visit again soon.
J. J.
The staff were wonderful, helpful and charming. The views are terrific.
Sadly, the food was average. No choice of vegetables. Broccoli, broccoli or, um, broccoli.
M. A.
Excellent place for morning coffee.
J. S.
Great for water views, conversation with friends or a quick drink when walking the dog.
G. J.
A lovely little place, with fantastic views out towards the Sound. Everything there, Food, coffee, and alcohol..!! Reasonable prices, and very polite and professional staff. Highly recommended.

Great location looking across Plymouth sound 👌
A. W.
I had the pleasure of recently eating lunch at Pier One.
The sea view is magnificent and the food just excellent.
The service was spectacularly good Adam looked after us very well.He is a very personable and efficient young man his only weakness is that he is from Liverpool and doesn’t love football!
I highly recommend this restaurant and will return.
S. B.
Lovely food, stunning location
S. C.
Great views of Plymouth Sound, with indoor & outdoor space to sit and enjoy a light bite or just a drink. Some outdoor heaters would be a great addition to the outdoor area but even without them, I would highly recommend a visit. 🤩
D. H.
Great view. Need to clean the tables between customers to be Covid secure
C. C.
Good service. Good view. Good food. However, portion sizes were questionable as they were on the small side
f. b.
Fantastic location, great food and friendly helpful staff . I can throughly recommend 10/10 .

Only stopped for coffee... Good coffee, friendly staff. However, doesn't matter how great any of that is, it will always be over shadowed by the view out over Plymouth Sound. On a bright sunny day like today its spectacular.
A. w. r. a. c.
Nice venue for a birthday treat
j. m.
Nice food in a great setting
S. M.
Didn't eat, but great cup of hot chocolate on a very cold day.
Lovely views over Plymouth Sound from inside the glass conservatory.
Will try food next time.

I cant understand these bad reviews, honestly the food i had, sea bass, was probably one of the best meals ive ever had and great friendly service from the staff, five stars and would recommend anyone to try a meal here.
S. P.
Love it staff friendly, efficient and attentive. Food was brilliant and the venue is clean even the wc facilities. Definitely on our list of places to eat. See you soon.

Great place to enjoy a drink overlooking Plymouth Sound. We just had coffee on this visit but have been before for drinks, and the food looked really good too. Gets very busy at peak meal times, especially at the weekend. Staff very polite and quick service.
S. G.
Love this place. Outstanding views. Had breakfast there a few times as well as dinner a couple of weeks ago. Popped in for a drink recently and had a balcony seat. Food is good and service was also good.
A. M.
Wonderful coffee with a wonderful view of the Sound, what's not to like. Quick and attentive service and given the location, I thought it was reasonably priced. Would recommend.
D. R.
Lovely breakfast and great service. The indoor upstairs restaurant area had a beautiful view, a nice atmosphere and there was a log burner to keep it cosy.
P. E.

Quality food great service, enjoyed our meal with a view. Thank you 👍🏻🤠
A. A.
Lovely food. Service good but extra attention needed to cleaning between customers, not just a quick wipe over the table.
J. E.
Lovely location, great service and superb food.
D. V.
Very nice place, staff very polite
Three of us had hot drinks as it was very windy day, I ordered a hot chocolate with cream marshmallows and flake hmmm (No Flake ) bit pricey at £4.00
D. M.
I love this place I travel 25 miles to enjoy the food and sitting looking at the fantastic view
A. C.

Great service and food, wonderful views, if you're ever in Plymouth on a nice (outside) or raining (inside by the fire) day then I'd highly recommend coming here for a coffee or even a meal, very reasonable and the views over the sound are amazing.

Lovely food. Poor waiter was rushed of his feet but kept convo light hearted and enjoyed a laugh or 2 with us. Stunning views out to sea and saw loads of kids jumping into the sea. Loved out visit and we will go back .
M. W.
Superb food. Amazing view of Plymouth Sound. Wonderful staff
J. L.
Stunning views over the bay, friendly service and decent food at a reasonable price. Pleasantly surprised.
J. D.
There were a few menu items unavailable and batter on fish was rather soggy and thick. However the remainder of our food was very good. Setting, you just can't get better, attentive and friendly staff.
G. B.
Great food. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Not a large menu for fussy eaters! But prime prime views and beautiful.
G. B.
Great location with lots of staff... but indifferent service does not match the views.
R. S.
Love Pier One for a breakfast. Stunning surroundings.
R. H.
Had to wait the better part of half an hour just to get our drinks. The food was good, but 30 mins for a coke was a bit much
L. G.
Lovely cake and coffee with a view
S. M.
Friendly place, good coffee, excellent view. Can be opened up to take advantage of the sun, and on rainy days like today has an enclosed log burning heater.
F. P.
Staff nice/burger nice/ but the mackerel was so small, uninteresting, laying on massive portion of chips, I was expecting something else from a sea front restaurant
M. T.
Lovely setting great coffee served by friendly and efficient staff
P. R.
A lovely meal and service quite good once you got their attention
J. K.
Great Food, Fantastic views! Good service, Definitely go again!
L. W.
Good spot with good views, food was really tasty but had a 45 minute wait for main after starter. Think they may of been overwhelmed with the amount of people wanting seats.
G. H.
Quick service. Nice and clean. Lovely breakfast sandwich.
J. M.
Lovely food, great service and what a view!
P. S.
LOVED THIS PLACE! the food is divine so nice, just like London, but cheaper.
The girl who served us was so nice, think she was Swedish called paige.
D. S.
Perfect place to enjoy a nice breakfast and watch the sea 🌊
F. S.

T. R.
Fantastic view whatever the weather x first visit for stolen day lunch. Great sandwich with salad and tortillas. Great coffee too will be going back
P. W.
Another lovely meal in superb setting.
J. R.
Great as always , lovely views , lots to choose to eat and drink, friendly staff, reasonable prices, we love it .
N.
Busy summers evening. Table service but only one person behind bar so drinks took 20 mins to come. Was made aware at time of order that food would be an hour wait. Good when it came through. Amazing views across Plymouth Sound
K. W.
Good food. Excellent efficient staff.
P. B.
Not up to its usual high standard today.
Very slow service and total confusion from staff as to whether they were serving breakfast or lunch
J. F.
Great place. Stopped by for coffee and a toasties. We sat on the lower deck, and the view was spectacular. Even though it was a stormy day, the sea was really grey and moody, but the lovely coffee soon warmed us up.
M. C.
Nice food and views. However rather pricey and waiters that did not speak English let it down.
S. K.
Can't recommend this place enough! The staff were fab, and the food was heavenly! Even with full capacity I couldn't fault the service.
If you do manage to go here for a bite to eat, I fully recommend the salmon. It's the best salmon dish I've ever tasted... And I wish I could say that is an exaggeration, but it really isn't.
Finally to round this review off, the setting is gorgeous as you are right next to the seafront. You can't beat this for a Plymouth seaside experience.
K. B.
Great setting for breakfast. Wide choice of breakfast meals.
Great service, good food, nice coffee.
I'll be coming back
N. R.
Wonderful views and a fantastic breakfast. Very enjoyable place to eat.
D. C.
Nice place. Busy and when the doors are open it's a lovely view over the sound.
F. H.
Fantastic restaurant 👌
Great food and great service 👍
B. P.
Here now on a Saturday morning. Had a Cooked breakfast and a coffee. Both we excellent, and I'm fussy!. The service has been stellar. Despite lockdown conditions I have been really impressed. I will return with the family when things are back to normal. Given the location places like this can often be overpriced and underwhelming. Not Pier One. Exemplary. Well done to the staff.
Y. L.
Beautiful view. My favourite place for a drink.
M. J.
Casual drinks and dining. Really nice food with stunning views
K. M.
Smashing food lovely view and friendly staff
F. R.
Love this place. Friendly staff. Fantastic views. Worked so hard on getting this place up and running.
P. S.
Nice view, nice beer but a bit expensive

S. C.
Great spot for breakfast!
D. R.
My son was married there and it was perfect
C. T.
Really nice setting and helpful staff. Steak was a bit gristley and a bit under done but otherwise really good! Will visit again.
L. B.
Came here twice in the same week, once for lunch and once for breakfast. The food on both occasions was nice. The outlook is amazing. Service is not overly friendly but not quite rude either. Very expensive though - £9.60 for a bacon sandwich and hot chocolate.
B. W.
Nice views good food good service.
k.
Great place for a burger and pint whilst over looking Plymouth Sound. A good selection of Gins served in nice glasses. Would recommend the Devon Rock pale ale. Will be a good place to book for the national fireworks championship... if there is still tables free?
S. C.
Always good. Great breakfasts. Friendly staff. Fantastic views.
R. C.
Great location, good drinks and food. Would get five stars if table service, but just one long queue for drinks and food.
L. C.
Lovely place to grab a bite to eat and drink. The only thing I'd say is the menu whilst delicious is not low fat.
-.
A wonderful restaurant with breathtaking views of Plymouth Sound. The service was amazing, as was the food.
We booked online for a table of six which was incredibly quick and easy.
Thank you for an amazing experience. We hope to return again soon.
W. D.
Nice sea views. We had the rib eye steak.. It was tender and very good. Not too expensive
D. M.
Outstanding. What a location! Great buffet provided for our surprise birthday party. Staff friendly and professional and made it look easy even though they were working hard to make the occasion special. Big big thanks.

A. H.
Lovely staff and enjoyable food but the view says it all

Dropped in for coffee and a snack, (no booking) and had a lovely window seat overlooking Plymouth Sound. The all glass construction gives magnificent views, and the log burner and smell of wood smoke was delightful. Friendly and attentive staff provided a speedy service, making the whole visit a delight!
(You could just relax and read my book "Professor Harry Parker and the Tunnels of Argonaut Bay" by Steve Pick available on Amazon kindle!)
The picture shows Plymouth breakwater with my private yacht - actually a Royal Navy frigate!

Great food, fantastic setting and friendly service, the perfect place for breakfast in Plymouth
G. S.
Staff excellent. Venue excellent. Food fantastic. Good prices
J. N.
Food was tasty, service was good. We visited on a wet and windy day but they had the fire going in the upstairs room, which made it warm and cosy.

Usually frequent this place regularly but haven't been for a while. The food is usually pretty good but today it just seemed like the chef couldn't be bothered, my fish was so over cooked it was dry and as for the chips, well, look at the photo yourself, that's supposed to be a £15 meal. The last time I went I had the swordfish (which is what I usually have) but it was extremely small, to the point where I almost asked if they were joking! I put that down to an off day with the chef but after today, they clearly can't be arsed so I'll be taking mine and my family's custom elsewhere which I'm a bit sad to do as I love the restaurant and the view you get whilst dining but it's not worth paying for sub standard food.
On a positive note, the staff were extreme polite as usual, couldn't fault them.
D. P.
Greasy fish and chips which tasted fine at the time. Staff were not particularly friendly and were visible annoyed when a party of six pushed two tables together - no explanation just visibly annoyed. Lovely views, okay food, slow service, condiment shortage.
T. S.
Lovely place ! And the service is brilliant ! Especially the guy called Daniel makes you feel at home
R.
Best breakfast venue in Plymouth by far!

One of my favourite places in Plymouth we visit regularly, an unravelled view friendly staff and decent food, I like the coffee as well
B. C.
Amazing view, food and staff are friendly. Only 4stars as no disabled access which is disappointing in 2020 surely there is room for a small lift somewhere.
S.
Very great food and lovely vues. Took one star away because went there at night at it was so cold in the restaurant. Would recommend dressing a little warmer than just a dress.
I. T.

V. H.
Beautiful views, welcoming log fire and excellent tasting food.
B. P.
Nice place great views, but you pay the price for it. I suppose it's ok for a treat now and then
As there isn't much competition in the area they have the market cornered!
J. B.

Awesome food and great staff. Five stars
A. K.
We dine here a lot, and usually the service and the food is outstanding. However, we came for breakfast which usually ends at 11.45, but we were told at 11.42 that breakfast closed at 11.40, without warning. This has happened three times now - once I came at 11.20 and was told breakfast had ended. The end time is on their menu.
On this particular visit, I found the boy waiter quite rude and stern when he told us that breakfast had ended.
Other than that, the restaurant has a nice sea view (especially on a sunny day) and serves a good selection of food and drinks. They also allow dogs!
D. L.
Fantastic breakfast good friendly staff nothing too much trouble.👍👍
T. B.
Lovely place to sit with a coffeee and cake looking out to sea. Lovely staff.

We visited for breakfast earlier in the week and it was 5 Stars, perfect. Unfortunately we went back for Sunday tea 11th Oct 2020, we had to ask for a menu after waiting 10mins, we then ordered our drinks but had to ask where they had got to after waiting a while. The food we ordered was very nice but I had to go and fetch our napkins as none was given to us. If I'm honest, the young lad who had taken our order was more interested in the young ladies than providing us with the kind of service you would expect. We would definitely return, but probably only at breakfast, the food was outstanding for both our visits but only the breakfast service was outstanding.
E. S.
Perfect service and delicious breakfast 😋 😀
S. C.
Really nice cafe lovely views and good service

Nice location, great coffee, amazing fish and chips that we often had as take away during lockdown. Staff was very nice to my child, and we enjoyed the takeaway sitting down on the beach.

D. E.
Very yummy, with a fabulous view and friendly service
R. B.
Been coming here for years, always a good size portion of fish and chips.
Not today. Nearly £8 for cod and chips and it was a lot smaller then we normally get. Very disappointed today.
v. R.
Great friendly service lovely view fair priced
P. C.
Great views over the Sound, pleasant staff and good drinks.
D. K.
Really really good ice cream but I have to say not COVID-19 safe as there is no queuing system and the staff just pass the ice cream back and fourth no one was wearing masks would recommend going after Coronavirus is over
EDIT : FROM 2 too 5 stars, now that Covid is no longer as big off a thing the ice cream is great go here!!
d. b.
Great location. The menu is not adventurous I had a steak that was not the best or worst I have ever had.

Best views in Plymouth! Staff are very friendly, food is outstanding!
G. H.
Excellent fish and chips, plus the starters of squid and prawns. Charming service from a delightful young waitress, possibly named Tash, just been in the job 2 weeks, but has certainly got what it takes to make the customer feel welcome.
K. M.
Lovely views .I had a mixed leaf salad with Halloumi which was very nice ,big portion of cheese .Very light airy atmosphere and pleasant helpful staff . Definitely would return .

We had a lovely meal here, and saw the sunset, epic location, we had a lovely server, and you can’t beat the view! Looking forward to the new menu :)
L. C.
A wonderful place. Views over the water exquisite.
R. n.
View and design of building is absolutely beautiful, coffee was good too, but overpriced food that honestly wasn’t very good, I ordered the veggie burger and it was super disappointing and didn’t seem fresh at all, not what you would expect from a place that looks like it should be fine dining. Would definitely come back for the view and coffee however, but wouldn’t eat unless they improved their standards of food.
M. S.
Great food-compliments to the cheff and atmosphere, fantastic staff, esspecially Dominykas -he has outstanding customer service skills and ability to handle so many wine glasses, that i had to ask him to do it again on bid to learn that skill my self. Also staff makenit feel very welcome and make it my sons birthday more special.Thank you.

L. G.
Fast service, cosy even though it was windy and raining. Great breakfast and coffee. Thank you.
T. T.
Great place to sit outside with a coffee and lookout over Plymouth Sound. One BIG PROBLEM is that they permit smoking on the outside seating area. Not nice when a person sits down close to you and starts smoking as your having your coffee & toast.
a. w.
I love this place...we only had drinks, oh no my dad had the squidgy lemon cake...all was just perfect
N. M.
Great service in good spot

A nice place for food and drinks plus a nice views of Plymouth sound
D. G.
Gorgeous location shame the hot chocolate was mediocre and the staff were hungover.
N. S.
Great view on the seafront, staff were spot on.
Wife had the full English, I had scrambled eggs with crispy bacon on toast.
My wife commented about how tasty the sausage was. She almost finished her breakfast, a high recommendation.
The eggs and crispy bacon were spot on, more than enough for me, and I'm a bodybuilder.
T. H. B.
Great view of Plymouth sound whilst you eat a good and well presented meal and drink.
G. P.
Pier 1 undoubtedly has the best views for a cafe in Plymouth. With options inside and outside its perfect for almost any weather. Good quality coffee and well priced food. A must go for anyone wanting a good coffee and amazing views!
D. R.
The best coffee shop on the Hoe!
The food is pretty good. But, the quality of the hot drinks could be improved..
A.
Great place to stop have refreshments, cold and hot drinks, and take in the wonder of Plymouth Sound.
A. J.
Nice place to have a cuppa. Beautiful views of the Plymouth Sound.
V. C.
Picturesque location wonderful staff food and drink amazing

Bit disappointed with my first visit for lunch. Ordered fish and chips and a burger. When the fish arrived I took a bite and realised something was wrong. The fish was slimy had an odd taste. When I smelled it, I could smell the amonia smell of rotting fish. I brought it to the attention of the staff who apologised and replaced my meal for another burger which was actually quite nice. Unfortunately the experience was already spoiled.
T. B.
Welcome lunch indoors (at last) !!!
We arrived without having booked for lunch. We were very quickly shown to a free table with beautiful sea views.
Although the weather was unseasonably cold and wet, the wood burning stove provided welcome warmth. The service was great., as was the atmosphere, food lovely and reasonably priced.
Even better, we had a break in the weather during our meal when one of the staff opened the bi-fold doors giving us great views over to Drake Island and the sea.
The only negative for us is that we do not live locally otherwise I think that this restaurant would become a firm favourite for us.
If we return to Plymouth, we would definitely return.
M. C.
Great place for a glass of vino and to admire the wonderful views of Plymouth sound

Owner has done a great refurb. Think it is now called Pier 1. Food good, views brilliant and most importantly coffee great.
M. C.
Lovely views and sun. Good coffee as well
E. A.
Excellent food, the restaurant has the best view in the world. Have marked it down one star due to smoking being allowed. I'm sitting inside the restaurant and the smoker is sitting on the balcony, his smoke is coming inside whilst I'm eating. Please make it no smoking on the balcony.
A. S.
Friendly staff that go the extra mile to make sure you feel comfortable.
J. W.
Lovely staff good views great coffee
D. A.
Lovely evening, great friendly staff and a great meal
T. E.
Very friendly, amazing views across Plymouth Sound.
C. S.
Amazing view, nice coffee
A. P.
This place really needs organisation.Went up today and there were so many staff behind the counter it was chaos.Staff need to be told by a manager, who needs to be doing what.I worked in catering industry for 30 years and have never seen anything like it.Absolutely stunning place but needs someones stamp of authority.Tables also need cleaning and very rude of staff to remove items from a table when people are still eating and drinking.Come on Yaz sort it.
M. A.
Nice place
J. N.
Great situation by the sea with lovely food and it was great that it is dog friendly
A. P.
Food, price and location great. Convenience for single parent with baby, poor. A more pragmatic approach towards a customer clearly struggling to order at the counter would have made the meal more enjoyable. Maybe a modified table service for such situations could achieve this.
N. R.
lovely burgers and chips on seafront
g. G.
Had a lovely day in pier one. Justyna and Lauren were amazing!
A. s.
Ambiance was a winner, topped only by the service and food quality
