Reviews of The Boathouse
C. S.
Having looked round at all the food options on the barbican this one seemed most authentic and best value.
Sitting in the sun enjoying scallops and calamari doesn't get much better!
Nice to see this area being used by local fishermen and families.
Will definitely return here.
T. S.
Had the most delicious meal within this fine establishment, some of the freshest fish and flavourful chips you'll ever have myself had the delicious scampi and it was simply divine, kudos to the Boathouse's wonderful and accommodating staff for helping make our stay a wonderfully pleasant one! Would highly recommend checking this place out the Menu has something for everyone on it.
M. W.
Love The Boathouse!! We visit once or twice Weekly.
Fabulous sea food and staff are always wonderful. We have an elderly relative in a wheelchair and they couldn't be more helpful and accommodating.
Beautiful location too.
Would highly recommend.
Update: The Boathouse has been refurbished....even nicer now.
D. W.
Straight off the ferry lovely harbour location. Open until 8 food very nice especially the breakfasts Young and friendly staff. Worth a visit if only for a coffee and watch ths world go by.

We were walking past when I noticed a customers food and it looked lovely so we decided to pop in for a light bite. The whitebait and prawns were so nice. Great fast friendly service, lovely location on the harbour. Both dishes with chips and 2 drinks only cost £30 so good value too.
A. H.
My first visit here was the morning after my wedding. I'd heard good things about it and the pancakes were absolutely superb!
It was an amazing place to visit and they made us feel really special. There are lovely views over the water and inside is nicely spaced out.
All in all a lovely place to go for a meal and I will definitely be going back.
M. M.
Lovely restaurant in a wonderful location. The seafood was incredibly fresh and tasty, the scallops and mussels my wife had were excellent.
I opted for the prawns to start (perfectly portioned) and the catch of the day - delicious, buttery sea bream fillet - for my main.
The real selling point here though should be the charming staff who all made us feel utterly at home.
J. L.
We enjoyed lunch here so much we returned for a second time.
A large light airy building down on the Quay. Eating outside or in. Freshly cooked food. Generous portions. Reasonably priced with cheerful and friendly staff. What more could you want.
The reference to 'our boats' makes me wonder if this is a family concern. If it isn't, it certainly has that feel.
Wish we lived closer.
Highly recommended by one, of whom it has been said, is difficult to please!
G. S.
We had the seafood platter along with a few scallop dishes and all were truly excellent. The staff were super friendly and attentive, especially Paul who really looked after us while we were here, and it's also dog friendly. They provided water for our dogs on arrival and even had doggy ice cream available which our woofers loved! Highly recommended!

AMAZING PLACE! AMAZING FOOD! AMAZING SERVICE!
Ordered the seafood linguine and for only £16 thought it would just be a standard pasta dish but boy was I wrong! It was amazing, fresh in the shells and a massive portion!
And tasted amazing! Service was wonderful aswell. We loved it so much we booked back in for Saturday evening 👌

My wife and I visited the Boathouse for the first time for a coffee yesterday and both the setting and coffee were excellant. However, what really impressed us was the attitude of the young waiter, (Pacey) and young waitress, (whose name we sadly didn’t get). Both were super professional, friendly and efficient and clearly enjoyed giving great customer service, something which is sadly so often difficult to find. If I hadn’t recently retired from the hospitality business, I’d have been looking to recruit them both on the spot! Well done to them and the Boathouse!!
W. S.
The fish finger sandwich is bleddy 'ansom. Look at it! Takes the best food in the world to a whole new level. If you've got nippers, don't be fooled by the "mini" in the mini mussels. The portion is bigger than what most restaurants serve as an adult main dish.
L. W.
Went here for an early dinner. Scallops, Tiger prawns & whitebait were great, 5/5.
The main wasn't as good, fish of the day was good, seafood linguine was just ok. Scampi for £15 for 5 small pieces of scampi was a let down. I'd expect twice the amount as it was barely filling, tasty but not enough.

Hidden gem. By far the best eatery around
Wether you wish to pop in for a decent local roasted coffee, an earthy well cooked breakfast,
Or a feast for your dinner in a lovely atmosphere they have it covered
Dog friendly, pleasant staff, great chefs , fresh locally sourced ingredients,
Keep doing the good work during theese difficult times
B. S.
Have come here a few times now and have always had great service as well as tasty local food and well made drinks. The staff have all been fantastic.
P. S.
Food was amazing, staff very friendly and happy to help. The restaurant has great views over the harbour.
J. P.
Amazing food, Friendly staff and a really nice atmosphere. This restaurant with a beautiful sea harbor view is definitely not one to miss! The seafood is absolutely to die for along with the tasty breakfast and lunch options. And a healthy selection of gins on offer. Thank you so much for a brilliant anniversary, we shall return!
C. D.
I love this place!!! We stopped here the first time because it was too hot to walk to where we were going but it must of been fate. The cold seafood platter is phenomenal I've been back 3 times and it is now my favourite restaurant in Plymouth. The guy in the flat cap who I assume is the manager or owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful but so are all the staff. So if you want amazing food at a reasonable price all served with a smile please check this place out.
s. c.
We waited over an hour after ordering our food.
No crispy onions on the crab sub and chips were not fresh, they looked anaemic.
D. K.
Very good and attentive service. I really enjoyed the scallops and the fish of the day (monkfish), didn’t like the garnish - the salad was blunt and pretty much tasteless.
P. S.
Six of us had a wonderful meal at The Boathouse today. Two of my friends devoured the mussels, which they really enjoyed. The rest of our party, decided to go with fish finger sandwiches - what a good choice, full of lovely white fish, scrumptious and filling. Our server was top notch, I hope he is well though of by The Boathouse, as he was a good ambassador for your establishment. If in the area again, The Boathouse will be our first port of call.
V. S.
it is the first time I can say that everything was perfect. extraordinarily good and properly cooked food. The location is very nice and now about the staff I went to various locations but employees like here I have not seen anywhere are very attentive and caring with people.
K. K.
Great food with excellent service. Whats not to like? Decent location in the harbour which lends itself to the menu. Highly recommended.
G. M.
Lovely food and wonderful service.
K. B.
We were told 30 minutes wait on food. Ordered a couple of hot drinks to tide us over. They took 45 minutes to make. Food came out 10 minutes later...nothing elaborate (bacon bap, which had a hair on the plate, so off it went to be freshened up & toast with a pot of jam). I appreciate they might get busy, but the wait time for drinks isn't justifiable. It's a good thing I put 2 hours on the parking meter.
B. M.
Food was amazing and great service also great prices for such fresh quality food. Would highly recommend for anyone to go and enjoy the restaurant.
M. P.
What a pleasant place , loverly staff wonderful food , wonderful music , thought I’d never laugh listening to Joy division whilst eating keep the tunes up
R. W. (.
Fantastic, we went for a family breakfast this morning, following our wedding yesterday, it was perfect and we were very well looked after, thank you so much for continuing our special weekend 🥂
A. G.
Food was amazing, staff were brilliant 100% worth a visit. Can’t wait to go back, thanks The Boathouse, see you all again soon
G. W.
Mussell and frites was great flavour and excellent value, good range of beers and drinks, meg our server was very helpful and attentive,
G. J.
Loved this place! Great outdoor seating with a great view of the boats. Fishfinger sandwich was incredible!!! Staff were great too.
S. G.
Fantastic location with plenty of window tables to take in the views . Best scampi ever !! Staff very stretched but friendly and welcoming.
K. H.
Absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were very generous. Prices were reasonable for the area and food on offer. Super dog friendly. Staff were all welcoming and even brought our dog a fresh water bowl just for him. We will be sure to visit again next time we are in the area
S. B.
Lovely restaurant /bar area, beautiful setting, great if you like seafood, welcoming staff
A. H.
Amazing venue and super friendly staff. Food is simply beautiful.
S. T.
As well as being a good café the Boathouse is also a great place for a private party! My last visit was for just that and they'd cleared us a good amount of space for the dance floor as well as leaving ample tables for guests. Because of its location parking was easy at the Elphinstone car park next door too. Daytime visitors can also enjoy nice food and coffee before they wander down the pontoon to take a boat ride. Lovely!
D. P.
Great food, stunning views over the harbour, staff friendly, helpful, best thing about the boathouse everything caught right on the door step
D. C.
Staff very friendly, just a little understaffed. Had to ask for essentials for our table, such as cutlery, finger bowls etc.
R. C.
Really nice food great atmosphere especially being by the water
R. B.
Had a very pleasant and filling breakfast. Absolutely lovely presentation and taste.
Staff so friendly and helpful. Professional through and through.
Returned later same day for dinner. So pleased to find that though different staff were on, they too were first class.
Food again was amazing.
Would definitely recommend a visit.
M. R.
Great food, (it's mainly a fish restaurant but does great breakfasts), friendly helpful staff, clean, very COVID aware including tables disinfected, plenty of nearby carparks, specials menu changes frequently. It's my favourite place to lunch - I live in East Cornwall - it's worth the effort.
L. W.
Excellent seafood restaurant at reasonable prices
Nice setting had an enjoyable evening
K. R.
Food was excellent and Fergus is an absolute credit to your restaurant. Impeccable service and a welcoming smile. Bravo Fergus!
A. A.
The food was pretty good, although I wish the menu would have more fish options given it's sell is fresh local sea food. We had the sea platter to share for two and it was a lot of food, but mostly shellfish rather than actual fish, but it was great and tasty. This is definitely not a fancy place, so we were somewhat overdressed, but that was on us. Staff were super friendly and accommodating
N. W.
I went here for family meal on the night of the fire work championships. I had booked a table and was aware that it would be busy. When we arrived we were shown to a table in the window, great to view the fireworks. We were made aware that they were very busy and there would be a wait on food, which I had expected. The staff were apologetic about the wait and when the food did arrive it was worth the wait. I had the smoked mackerel pate to start which was delicious. A great evening and good service and food.
A. C.
Lovely location in the sun. Great service, food was tasty.
m. m.
It was good, I enjoyed food and staff were friendly...
B. S.
First time we have visited this restaurant and were very pleased with the service. We got 10% off the bill because we booked a river cruise with the same company, so we had coffees while we waited for the boat and then went back there for lunch.
Lovely waiting staff and we noticed that they usually have live music(Covid permitting).
Good food and drink, not over priced.
Definitely go back there when we visit Plymouth again.
T. W.
Great place to enjoy a lovely seafood meal, a must go to in Plymouth. Staff very attentive and prompt, food delicious amd well presented in front of lovely views of the harbour. Will definitely return, thank you!
G. F.
Service once seated was good but we were left at the welcome point for some time as that staff member was out the back which was no problem but the chef and bar person were aware we were stood there so a simple "someone will be with you shortly" would have been nice. Food a little overpriced for the quality and portion size served. Prices no doubt inflated due to restaurant position within Barbican.
L. P.
Absolutely amazing service! Felt at home. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Will recommend to everyone I know! I told them I made candles out of shells and asked if they had any scallop shells left, the chef himself came out to get some for me. Honestly most humbled people. Good atmosphere. Lots of choice on the menu. All fresh. Incredible. Not a single complaint. Thank you all again!
C. H.
Good for gf, harder but still possible for gf/df.
Didnt have alot of drinks advertised, but still a wide selection.
A. I.
Sunday afternoon, 4pm less than 20 people seated. When you put up a 'Wait here to be seated sign' please don't ignore us. We dont mind waiting a few minutes, but we do mind being ignored. A simple 'be with you in a moment' is all that is required. Coffee hot, food good.
K. S.
Seafood platter was absolutely well worth the money. Satisfied the seafood fix we wanted!
G. R.
Came here for lunch. Sat outside in the sunshine , good service and a great atmosphere. I ordered the mussels and they were fantastic! Will definitely definitely definitely come here again.
M. W.
The prices are reasonable, and the good quality is incredible. Great breakfast.
C. D.
Wow- what a find! 3 of us walked in on the off chance, having read such glowing reviews on line. And it was even better than our expectations. The views are breathtaking, the food was absolutely delicious, Paul, our waiter was utterly delightful, and we felt completely at ease, and very COVID safe.
If the daily special is the Spiced Fish Stew with Lemon and Thyme Couscous and flatbread, and that ticks your box, grab it! Mine was the best I've ever tasted! The scallop choices were delicious too, and the chips are perfect, crispy, piping hot, soft in the centre and plenty of them!
Save room for the puddings - we shared a cheesecake which defied description just mmmmmm! And nice big double espressos to finish with! All in all a great find, and so cheap for what you normally have to pay in cities on the waterfront Thanks guys!
M. M.
The fish accompanying the fish and chips was probably amongst the best fish I have eaten, there was a very thin batter, (almost see through), but crispy and the haddock was extremely moist. It was presented beautifully on the plate. The waitress was charming and made it very personal, (I’m guilty of not asking her name but she attended Ivybridge community college). The restaurant ambience and layout could be improved but was made up for, by the quality of food and excellent service.
J.
I had a delightful meal at the boathouse. There were many appetising fish on the menu and I wanted to try them all. So it was clear the platter was the dish for me. Scallops, cuttlefish, prawns, whitebait, sardines and panko breaded white fish. All delightful, particularly the scallops and cuttlefish. I can't wait to gorge myself on a fish platter again and after seeing how good my meal looked, other friends want to come with me to the boathouse again in the future!
S. R.
Great food & great service. I'll definitely be going back
D. C.
Absolutely love this restaurant, fantastic seafood, great service and a lovely location, have eaten here 4 times in two weeks with various friends and family, and the quality has been outstanding. Would highly recommend a visit and especially the scallops... can't wait to go back
B. R.
Lovely food, fresh fish caught that day
J. N.
Half of the menu not available. Those chips doesn't have any taste. I had fish and chips fast-food much better than this. But location is very nice 👌
M. I.
Very nice food. Had the seafood platter which was a treat, the iron steak cooked to order and just as much effort had gone into the children's meals. Some of the menu sadly wasn't available which we were told immediately - just forgot to tell us about a special board. Very attentive and friendly staff. Lovely dining experience
G. B.
Nice staff and good service. Food was very good. Portion sizes varied.. mussels generous... platter on the small side.
S. M.
Good menu very tasty food lovely views
E. S.
The food is very delicious and fresh, worth the wait
I. L.
A bit long wait, we think waiter forgot about our order, when he realised this he confirmed it with us then rushed to the kitchen. Hence probably food wasn't as good as it could have been. We were a bit disappointed with "locally cought" cuttlefish calamari, small portion of randomly cut bits, not very well cooked.
A. L.
My and I had enjoyable meals at The Boathouse this morning. They were deliciously enjoyable. The staff were polite, friendly, respectful and a delight to be served by. It was a really pleasant atmosphere. Supporting our local businesses helps everyone in these unprecedented times of Covid19 virus.Just please be aware, there is a One Way System in use. As the outside tables are ALL roped off. You enter via the side door near the boat trips kiosk, and follow the yellow arrows to the exit. Enjoy your meals. We did.😁😁
s. m.
Great place to visit, amazing food and a great chef Jason and host manager Ryan will give you a delicious meal and make your visit worth while.
K. M.
What a lovely place this is, food is great, and reasonably priced. Can't wait until these tiresome restrictions are over, and we can enjoy it to it's fullest. George, the assistant manager, told us of their upcoming plans - sounds exciting, can't wait to go back.
M. R.
The foods were great!!!!! so as all staffs, we had to catch up the boat, the foods were served on time when they said they would. Definitely recommend anyone looking to eat out in Plymouth.
A. K.
fresh and tasty fish.good selection of drinks.
P. C.
Great service. Wonderful food. Premium price but don't let that put you off... Well worth the visit
K. J.
Found hairs in food and in drink. Not many alternatives to fish on the menu. The burger we had was overpriced for what it was and you had pay extra for cheese which usually comes standard. Service was good though.
l. (.
Great food. Lovely people and great service. Reasonable prices. Nice setting. Toilets are decent too lol. Downside... only 2 desserts... neither of which I fancied! Lol. 😂 Seafood is great. Xx
H. F.
Beautiful views and excellent food
R. P.
Great service and delicious sea food.
A. a.
Breakfast lovely so much on our plate.
Service was excellent, including a little banter, nothing was a problem, really helpful staff. Thank you so much
H. J.
Lovely food and great service
I. R.
Great food, quiet due to Covid cancellations, but the food and the service, brilliant.
M. T.
Popped into the Boathouse for a 'full' English breakfast. It was delicious. Well worth a visit. Everything in place for keeping you and your family safe. Staff very friendly, polite and COVID-19 aware.
K.
Great food, good vegetarian options, only downside I did not get maple syrup with my pancakes despite it being advertised, but not a major issue.
C. H.
A lovely venue trying to make the most of covid regs - Sadly this means when sat outside in the typical British weather the food goes cold really quick. Not a fault of the staff or service but cold scrambled eggs stops a 5 star rating.
S. D.
Absolutely incredible food and amazing service! Cannot speak highly enough of how good it is!
T. H.
Great Breakfast, huge portions - eggs cooked how you want them. Very kind and attentive staff. Would recommend.
S. F.
Went to a wedding there and was great, hog roast which was great and the bar staff were wonderful, the only reason it's not 5 star was the floor needs cleaning which I hate to say because a great place and position near the sea
C. R.
Loved this restaurant, the food was outstanding, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Book a table you wont be disappointed.
G. H.
Great food and good service, we had to wait 15 minutes for main as something went wrong in kitchen but we were offered free drinks for wait and it wasn't even that long, great place to eat!
M. H.
Only stayed for drinks but very enjoyable to sit outside and relax .
The food looked good but can't give 5 star as didn't eat .
J. S.
Fantastic service and delicious food - such friendly flexible staff! Clever arrangement with outdoor seating - heaters were most welcome addition! :)
A. R.
A delayed birthday treat because of COVID-19. The food was delicious, we had scallops, prawns, mussels - from the sea and the one steak dish which was cooked to perfection! Helpful, professional and friendly staff - Stunning setting by the water. Highly recommended- We’ll be back!
The boathouse is well catered with hand sanitizer on arrival, all staff and customers are required to wear their mask until seated and whilst moving around the premises. Thank you for delivering great food and service during these unusual times. Stay safe
J. H.
Great service, food a bit hit and miss but very generous portions
D. W.
We go here quite often for lunch. Everything is fresh, tasty, presented nicely and reasonably priced. The staff have always been attentive but not intrusive.
M. R.
It does exactly what you want food is of very good quality freshly cooked to a high standard and portion sizes are generous. I had the mixed seafood platter and it was worth every penny. Service was great too.
C. P.
Great food and value, friendly responsive staff, beautiful setting. An excellent place to relax
P. W.
Went this afternoon mussels and fish and chips are high quality and perfect service, will be going again so give it a try.
S. J.
Lovely place to visit down by the sea. Long wait for lunch, though worth the wait, Fish, chips and mushy chips lovely. Nice staff x
G. B.
This place was amazing. Went there for an opportune lunch and was not disappointed. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Everything was faultless
G. T.
Amazing food, great service, highly recommend;
J. D.
It was our first visit to the Boathouse the staff were very pleasant and the food was excellent. I had the scampi and my husband had the seafood platter. It was also lovely that they are dog friendly, we will definitely be returning.
S. F.
My mum got fish and chips but it didnt have any taste and my dad got the boathouse burger and didnt come with the extra sauce. When he nearly finshed it he got the sauce but the popcorn shrimp is very good.
C. C.
Just popped in for a cup of tea. Really nice relaxed place with hard working staff. Beautiful views across the water with seating inside and outside.
C. B.
Good food great staff
k. b.
Visited with the family for a light lunch, very nice food and drink
A. B.
Food here is exceptional. The sandwiches are a meal in themselves. Talk about doorstop slices of bread and u get the right idea. Would highly recommend this place.
M. G.
Great views, not a wide selection of food but well done and prompt service.
K. D.
Very nice place for coffee but gets busy
M. W.
Can't recommend enough, lovely food, friendly staff, great location.
S. C.
Waited at the appropriate place only to be told to find a seat for ourselves. Service was good until it came to payment. Waited for someone to come with bill but went to the bar eventually. Having been on boat trip there was a 10% discount. Toilets were unisex but individual and very clean
D. S.
Lovely food and would have given 5 stars had they given the option of garden peas instead of mushy peas. Had baked beans, but would of preferred peas.
J. B.
Fantastic evening. We booked the venue for a private function. Great atmosphere, the DJ was brilliant, and the food (catering for about 150 of us) was hot, tasty and plenty of it. Lovely friendly bar staff too. Cannot recommend this venue highly enough.
P. T.
Absolutely superb food here! The seafood linguine is amazing. Great atmosphere too and the staff are brilliant. Loved it!
A. M.
My third visit to The Boathouse and I still really like it. This time I went for the FLT burger with onion rings and fries. Freshly cooked and delicious. Why only 4 stars? The portion of fries served with the sandwiches is a little on the mean side. I think I would rather order and pay for a portion of fries as a side than have such a small amount served with the sandwich. Don't let that tiny little thing put you off, this is a great place to spend some time. I will definitely be back ☺️
E.
We had prawns and squid for our starters, that was really good and cooked well. For our mains we had fish&chips and mussels. The fish&chips was really nice but the mussels we didn't even finish, they had no flavour and the sauce was just so runny and watery. Not enough cream was added. And when we complained about it the waitress spilled the mussels sauce in our handbag, the manager only offered 10% off our bill and the chef came out to check why we sent the food back (he was so defensive about his cooked)....We're going back at some point just to see how they cook the mussels again.
J. F.
I would not describe the food as amazing, but it is good. The staff were friendly but on the slow side. The G&T was a big disappointment. Good location. Would I go back? I don’t think so, as not memorable enough.
M. C.
Delicious breakfast, eaten with a magnificent view over towards Mount Batten. Took a while to come but well worth the wait.
l. c.
Good veggie breakfast & great coffee. Recommended for location & outside seating.
R. P.
Fantastic food Fantastic service would recommend to any one food as always superb
B. A.
Great views of boats!
C. H.
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was because, when we went, there were unsupervised children running around, scraping chairs and being very noisy. It appeared that the children were with a lady who worked there. A beautiful venue, having said that.
S. C.
Went there for breakfast, friendly staff great location. Had a breakfast. It was ok rather pricey for what it was. I guess the location is what's determining the price.
K. S.
Great venue but pricey
C. M.
Lovely meal with excellent service
J. D.
OK food, not great pricing but handy to pass the time while waiting for a boat trip. Hours are seasonal and they close as early as late afternoon outside peak season, around the time of the last boat trip departure. Discount after taking a boat trip is good, though beware the opening hours. Unlikely that I'll eat here except for boat trip convenience.
M. B.
We had some of the freshest Hake and Plaice we have ever eaten. Very tasty and beautifully cooked. Fish and Chips were also excellent.
Very reasonable price and a good location near Barbican
Z.
the muscles. absolutely delicious and the sauce was amazing, would've been nice to have more bread with it as there was a lot of sauce at the bottom of the bowl which was hard to use up
b. b.
Staff friendly and food was and the service
E. t.
Excellent. Staff superb gorgeous food and menu. Thank you for the experience.
P. B.
45 min wait for food so gave it a miss , staff were nice and polite and it's a shame as the food looked lovely
L. J.
Great food and service. Views are worth a visit. Good place to watch the world go by.
A.
Went with reasonably low expectations from talking to friends and family but something must be different from the time they went. Food was amazing and staff were friendly
A. S.
Right on the harbour front, can watch all the boats make their way out to see while eating.
The staff were brilliant very friendly and chatty :-) knew what was in each dish.
We ordered the fish platter, fish chips & crab all were very good n came out together.
Would recommend it to anyone
M. B.
It's bloody lovely place It's a must go you like it
S. J. F.
Great food, great experience. Staff young and got all the orders right 😁
J. D.
Really tasty seafood and friendly/helpful staff. Will return to try some more.
L. H.
Lovely place to eat and drink on a sunny day, but especially on firework championship night. Service can be slow but food is very good quality, daily specials board and not just fish on the menu, they do one of best burgers in Plymouth to!
P. H.
Serving a fish biased menu, being only a stone's throw from the landing stage.
Due to time constraints, we only had time for a delicious cream tea, after our hour long harbour cruise. Cruise passengers can benefit from 10% discount on their bills.
Nice views of the harbour from the cafe. Inside and outside seating is available.
Licensed for alcoholic drinks.
J. H.
The Boathouse is a fish restaurant on the wharf in Plymouth. The food is outstanding plus the service is superb. To watch the fishing boats return and the sun setting over the water, from their windows i's out of this world. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant.
T. B.
Love Costa that's for coffe lovers. I think that's one of the best in Bedford and the staff are always so nice.
S. M.
As first timers I thought it was a great location with the river view. Average wait for food but beverages came while we were waiting. Food was good and ample portions. Would go again.

Excellent seafood. The fish, chips and mushy peas option is very good value. Looks out over Sutton Harbour.
Has a retractable roof so you can enjoy the weather. Next to the pier and the Pilgrim Father Steps.

Highly recommended 👍
I hired the venue for my boyfriend's 30th birthday party. Everything ran smoothly, the food was lovely, staff were friendly and very accommodating with any requests or enquiries I had. I had comments all night about the stunning location and how great everything was. I didn't think it would so easy to organise a party but it was completely stress free. Thanks very much for a wonderful night.

Nice location, good views and plenty of seating , can't comment of the food as were only having drinks , but the service and prices were all okay , and there was a pleasant atmosphere.
Worth noting that if you have been for one of the hour cruises on one of the ferries outside , then your ticket entitles you to 10% off in here.
S. S.

Good position right on the quay in the barbican. Good for people watching. Large selection on their menu. Prices are based on number of courses eaten. I would recommen this for lunch if you like lively restaurants. I have not been there in the evening.
M. F.
Nice location, nice food, service a little slow and warm with doors closed

My husband, son and I were midway through the 'I want that car now' phase when we were allowed to wonder. That's when we discovered this quaint little eaterie. We weren't lucky enough to order during a downtime and had to wait a fortunate 10 min.
J. P.
Very nice food. Had the fish n chips the fish was excellent you could tell it was freshly prepared. Staff pleasant and polite.

Nice. Great view.
S. C.
Waited at the appropriate place only to be told to find a seat for ourselves. Service was good until it came to payment. Waited for someone to come with bill but went to the bar eventually. Having been on boat trip there was a 10% discount. Toilets were unisex but individual and very clean
M. R.
It does exactly what you want food is of very good quality freshly cooked to a high standard and portion sizes are generous. I had the mixed seafood platter and it was worth every penny. Service was great too.

I know it's a fish restaurant but feel they could offer more alternatives for customers that don't like fish
M. S.
Nice view of the Barbican and Mount Batten, but the drinks are really expensive! Take cash out first so you don't have so nasty a surprise next time you check your balance.
S. G.
Great experience lovely food and staff. Dog friendly too.

One of my favourite places in Plymouth. Good menu - close to the water and good service. If having lunch on the Barbican would always go here first.

Covered outdoor restaurant with beautiful views over Plymouth Harbour and Sutton Harbour Marina. With many fishing, sailing, boating tours departing directly in front of the restaurant it can get very busy. They will even cook your catch if you are successful on the Plymouth Boat Trips deeps sea fishing trips.
S. A.
Xcellent food service and atmosphere. It would be better if there was no music
J. L.
Disappointed, why change a winning dining experience. Roof top bar a good addition but the seating and layout downstairs let's it down IMO.
