Reviews of The Marsh Mills Beefeater
N. S. M.
Pre booked a table but i wasn't on the list. Friendly staff but slow service. Main course was OK but not very hot. My wife didn't get her sauce with her main course or jug of custard with her dessert. Dessert was obviously frozen bought in bulk. Overall I would give it 6 out of 10 rating.
S. S.
Absolutely superb evening very friendly happy staff, informative and welcoming. All food was wonderfully cooked above expectations and comes at a good price, a very pleasant visit. 😋. We will be back again.

So I had a table booked for 19:15, but had to wait till 19:30 to be seated as it was very busy but didn't mind as the staff were clearly working incredibly hard!
Once we were seated I had the Christmas menu wellington and the black forest cheesecake which was delicious!
The staff were very friendly and attentive!

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Plymouth on business. The restaurant is quite easy to find, head down Plymouth road towards the Devon Expressway interchange and turn off right at Crabtree close before you get to the interchange.
The car park was quite empty when we got there, and there was plenty of disabled parking. The entrance gave the appearance that the restaurant was closed, it was quite dark and the doors were closed, but yay they were open. We were shown to our table and the waitress remarked that she would be back shortly to take our order as they were busy getting ready for lunch, having just changed over from breakfast.
This was quite evident as there was a large gathering of breakfast debris on the floor, and a tin of lip balm!!
Our order was taken and within 20 minutes of sitting down we were tucking in, although I have to say at £13 I did not feel it was value for money for my "Smothered Chicken" which wasn't as smothered as it could have been and looked a little lonely on the plate. After we had finished the waitress asked if we would like some more fries as they were refilled for free - I wish this had been stated earlier, perhaps before we ordered.
I would like to add that the disabled toilets were lovely and clean. All things considered, I would return for another family meal and as many fries as I can cram into my stomach as is physically possible.

Food really good. Great choice too even with xmas menu. Hired function room which is right by door on ground floor. Has access to patio in good weather. No charge for room over certain amount of people (think its 25)
M. C.
I booked the Function Room for a 40th Birthday Lunch.
I was allowed access to the room in plenty of time to put up photographs and birthday banners.
Cutlery and napkins were already laid for us and the high chair was also in the room as requested.
The staff were SO attentive. Nothing was too much trouble, we were extremely well looked after, a party of approx 20.
Very happy to recommend the Beefeater, Marsh Mill.
Well Done to all the staff that looked after us today.
Many thanks.
A. R.
Ian, The waiter serving us, was supurb. Quick, polite, funny, memory of an elephant. He had all our orders, 11 of us, correct, by memory alone.
I, unfortunately had a cold meal. Without a seconds hesitation, it was swapped, without any suggestion of irritation, most unusual these days. If all waiters were like this, dining out would be more of a pleasure.
I don't know her name, but the lady on front of house was also excellent. She helped my son, who was in a wheelchair, to get seated. Once again, nothing too much trouble. This was for the 1st Oct. 8pm.
Many thanks. A good evening. 👍

Chose this place on our way home from a day at Wembury Beach as a pit stop. I booked a table online for 1x 6 people and 1x 7 people as thought booking for thirteen would be too much when we got here they put some tables together and made it so we could all sit together which was brilliant. Table service from Josh was awesome, drinks and meals ordered and all arrived correct and within excellent time so thank you to the chefs. Very accommodating, nice spacious restaurant and friendly staff
K. B.
Friendly staff, fantastic meals, generous portions. We went for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Well done Beefeater.
K. B.
They do a nice breakfast buffet here. compared to the harvester, lord louis, and the George, I'd say this place definitely beats them both hands down.
-the sausages and bacon are cooked thoroughly (the other 3 places struggle with this)
-the eggs are cooked nicely too (again, sometimes runny eggs from the other 3 places)
-continental on the side with fruit juices and plenty of yogurt (the other 3 places don't do this)
a little busier than these three places but I can easily see why.
if you want a breakfast done the right way, go here, 100%.
Next time I want an unlimited breakfast and I want to 'stuff my guts' again, I will be coming here and nowhere else.

How hospitality should be, the team were a credit to the company and themselves.
The restaurant was very busy, we didn't have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in with no fuss.
I'd not eaten at a Beefeater since I was a kid, burgers aren't my go to meal, but this was lovely.
Whilst eating, the fire alarm from the attached hotel was set off, the restaurant staff updated all guests with the situation a number of times whilst it was resolved.
Well done team 👏

"SEND ME AN EMAIL; WE'RE TOO BUSY TO DEAL WITH YOU!" (CLICK) Really?! Here's your email.
I always give 5-stars even when sub-standard. I called to make a general enquiry about your billing, not to dispute it. That rudeness was uncalled for.
I've had this and another incident when a specific male waiter said in my ear-shot, 'I'll say anything to get a tip'
Otherwise, I ordered £68 of food & service and was justly billed £68. We had good food and staff tonight. We were impressed as we were served in a justly timeframe.
I've been numerous times and never ill treated and always walked away happy.
In my business when I'm tired and dealing with unprofessional individuals I still try to smile and avail ANY issue, but I lose it too.
On that basis I hope to see you soon.

Had the ultimate Sunday roast which lacked the lamb, food wasn't all that great to be fair which I'm surprised at from the reviews.
The chicken was also a bit dodgy, tasted weird and really chewy so didn't eat it.
Found one of the waitresses extremely abrupt/stressed and rude.
The waitress that took over was much more professional though!
R. C.
This place do amazing Sunday roasts. This was one of the best roast dinners I have had in a long time. All food cooked fresh to perfection and was piping hot. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
K. S.
It's busy place, but service have fast. Food was delicious and staff is very friendly. 💯👍
C. T.
Visited a couple of weeks ago, tick and a gold star. This time, oh dear. Party of two, we were warned busy Saturday night so bit of a wait. Turned out to be a lot of a wait. First course, fairly quick and very nice. Good sign. Second course, not for me, thanks. Soooo long to bring the food out. When it did arrive, nah. Ribs, dry as dry can be. Mac n cheese, stone cold in the middle. Although the mac was swapped, the mood of the evening was spoilt. Although the bill was reduced, please get the food right. Yes, I will be back, I have had many more hits than misses.
J. W.
Food was good . The service was excellent all the staff very helpful for evening meal and breakfast
S. W.
Met up with a friend and spent about 5 hours catching up. Staff were friendly and could have a laugh with them all. Ian, our waiter we as brilliant, he kept us topped up with coffee.
L. L.
Gluten free Christmas Dinner was not as bad as you would think. The service was amazing! This alone would make me go back.
A. O.
Would of given a better review but unfortunately 3 out of the 4 main meals came cold. Probably resolved very quickly but just a shame.
j. f.
Seated upstairs. Staff helpful but it took ages for every component of our meal, from drinks to dessert to arrive.
C. B.
Took some of my grandchildren out for a post Christmas/New year meal. Had 40% off vouchers on main meal. But, they are very clever because they also have a discounted menu with 2 courses for £16 so its virtually impossible to tell which is the cheaper option when the mains were on inflated prices of 12/13 + quid for fish and chips or a burger meal!! It was busy, can't believe how many people were eating on a Thursday evening. We had to queue !! Food was ok. Just a step up from Pizza hut/Pizza Express but still average. Kids loved it though, which is all that counts. They had cola top ups as well. Ian, our waiter was excellent. £82 bill for 3 x 13 yr olds and Grumpy Gramps!! Not sure its value for money or not.....
B. B.
Had an early morning meeting there
so had breakfast plentiful and enjoyable and really good service from staff
M. K.
Had a fantastic breakfast with my work colleagues to celebrate my retirement at this venue. Enjoyed the company, food and surroundings. Serving staff were fantastic and weren't phased by the number of people that turned up over the numbers that were booked. Well-done and thanks to them for a pleasurable experience.
M. A.
Excellent services. Staff super polite and accommodating even though they were rushed off their feet! Food great quality and absolute bargain that kids eat unlimited breakfast free. Really enjoyed ourselves
S. C.
Great food excellent service. Vegetarian sloppy joe pictured. Only one issue, we were sat near the door and every time it opened we had a blast of cold air. M
l. g.
Excellent food, great service x
T. T.
Booked a family meal to celebrate sins 40th had a table for 11 of us. Food was well presented. Felt for the staff it was quite busy and the few staff and manageress on shift were ran off their feet. Well done beefeater staff for coping with such limited resources.
K. J.
The food was great, service was good and food reasonably priced.
Unfortunately I cannot comment on the vegetarian or vegan options as I'm omnivore and they weren't on my radar.
M. I.
Had a great Christmas eve meal here, food was nice and the service was excellent.
h. j.
After having a sensational meal back in June we returned for another birthday meal to receive second rate food. We sent back 2 of our meals as they were only luke warm and we had seen them sat at the grill for 25 minutes before it was served. I give the staff their due they couldn't apologise enough and gave us a discount. Just a shame that on this occasion it wasn't good.
C. W.
Food is nothing fancy, staff are generally pleasant and not over bearing, never had an issue with getting a table.
A. Y.
Nice t bone steak cooked decent !! Staff really helpful , highlight for me was the amazing bloke behind the bar. He has got tourettes and must be so exhausting for him working , big respect to him and beefeater !!
E. W.
Willow is amazing! Thank you Willow for being so kind and happy! Give her a raise🥰!!!
Also, props to the beefeater for highering someone with Tourette’s. Nice to see inclusivity in the work place ☺️.
Food is average, the staff made it enjoyable for our large table!
S. W.
Ordered sirloin steak and chips tomato and mushrooms but they forgot to put the mushrooms on the plate our other meals we had were good. Expected to get triple cooked chips but tasted like oven chips very stodgy.
J. C.
I first went here October 2021 for my brothers gathering after his funeral, the staff were so loving it was quite touching, I have just made another visit, quite emotional, Joe from the bar recognised me and was so loving it was incredible, she makes a point of taking to all the customers like they were friends, she was amazing, I just hope the company know what a diamond they have, a rare one at that, please pass on my love and appreciation to Joe, she knew the purpose of the second visit, which truly meant so much x x ❤
N. B.
Lovely food and service, chips were a little undercooked this time around but normally a great standard so not going to worry about it this time.
L. G.
Good service, good food, served quickly even though it was very busy. Nice and warm in there.
We had steak kebabs with a warm cheese dip and ciabatta bread followed by steak.
N. C.
Staff were excellent, food was delicious, the bar was pleasant, and was informed when the minute silence was due to happen before it was to start for the queen!
L. S.
Never had a bad meal here nice atmosphere and staff are great
Also a big win that they accept blue light card giving 20% off :) Thankyou beef eater
J. H.
Mediocre food for the price and the service is pretty slow so be prepared to wait.
M. A.
Went to our local beefeater with a 50% off voucher. 2 out of the 4 meals shocking!!, tiny portions. Shouldn't change the size of portions with offers, that is why they are called offers won't be returning for food
C. T.
Lovely view, nice restaurant and an all you can eat breakfast for just under £10 per adult and kids get their breakfast free (true as of the 19th August 22
L. W.
Steaks were good. Everyone loved the mac and cheese. Good children's menu. Nice selection of gins.
J. D.
As always, good food and great value. With a Beefeater loyalty card, you can soon clock up some great freebies too!
T. J.
Stayed at the premier inn and had meal deals.
Bit of a wait at the entrance waiting to be seated but pretty quick service after that, food was decent, friendly staff.
P.
Needed to wait a long time to be taken to our seats. Our waitress was lovely and helpful. Food took an age to come, but was quite enjoyable when it finally did. Portions were quite small, but some did come with the options of chip refill. Overall value for money is quite poor - £12 - £20 average for a main. The wait times were the biggest let down, especially considering we had booked. Wouldn't bother again unless the restaurant was visibly empty and we had a discount code.
L. M.
My wife and family members, enjoyed a great night at the Beefeater and our waitress, Connie, was most obliging, friendly and keen to make sure we were happy with our orders. Connie frequently came to our table to ask us if everything was to our expectation, which of course it was. A very peasant an enjoyable evening all round!
P. H.
Went here a few days ago. Sadly, the experience this time was very poor. Ordered a steak with standard extras (triple cooked chips, tomato, mushroom) with a side order of BBQ beans and peppercorn sauce. There were 4 of us and my meal came out last. First attempt it came out with mash, no tomato or mushroom and a very small portion if beans (these cost £2.99) on the plate and not in a side pot as advertised. Sent it back to get the triple cooked chunky etc. Next attempt it came out with skinny chips and still the same beans on the plate, to be told these chips are standard with steaks (not true)....not what the menu says. Sent back again and on the third attempt got it right but steak was now cold, and others had finished their meals. A manager came over to ask if all was OK now, and this is when I found out the beans were just the standard beans for 50p, not what I ordered. By now I was just starving so told them not to bother taking it away again. All they did was take the 50p beans off the bill !! Won't be going back anytime soon that's for sure.
D. F.
Polite staff food was hot, was waiting long between courses (Thursday evening) good breakfast
H. D.
Good value, service was excellent the waitress engaged with us and our toddler grandchild. When I mentioned our wedding anniversary we where given a box of maltesers. Definitely recommend for a family dinner and will return.
R. J.
Had food at the restaurant as we were staying in the hotel next door. I had Calamari to start which was nice and for main I had an 8oz sirloin steak with sweet potato fries. The sirloin was a bit tough and took a while to chew but overall it was an enjoyable filling meal. Service was great and friendly.
r. i.
Breakfast for 28,no problem sir.
Much better that Toby.
N. E.
it's ok, better than a motorway services, but that's hardly difficult 😬
wouldn't exactly pop back soon.
staff great, food average at best, place in need of a revamp
C. M.
Food was very enjoyable meal deal in pub well worth it!
D. H.
Service very slow plus orders came out wrong or missed lot on menu not avaliable
S. R.
Great service and good food. Made use of a promotional offer which made it outstanding value.
j. i.
Had a good night T bone was cooked perfect, could almost here it moo as I cut into it...
K. G.
Excellent good great atmosphere, nothing too much trouble, Friendly and professional service
C. H.
Average food and service, the lady front of house needs a reminder in welcoming customers, clearly forgot she's the first impression you get to the place! Tad expensive for quality and quantity you get, but apparently there's a loyalty card/voucher scheme? Won't bother again 👎
A. T.
The food and service were absolutely excellent. Our server Ian was attentive and ensured we were all happy at every stage of our evening. I would absolutely love to rate the food and service 5 stars, however being a disabled bathroom user I was shocked to see the state of the toilets, there was no toilet paper, the seat and been completely ripped from the toilet itself and thrown behind the toilet, the cleanliness was poor and overall I was very disappointed at this. I wish I hadn't needed the bathroom during our visit because this would have been a 5 star review
R. G.
Generally pretty good. The meals were good, the service was good. The venue was clean and tidy. The only thing that really let them down was the unavailable items on the menu. Don't know if that was a supply issue or because they had been busy or an issue in the kitchen.
S. C.
Went into Marsh Mills beefeater for our Silver wedding anniversary meal ,for 11 people would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff, especially Tyler who attended our table for great service and making it special.
Also thank you for the bottle of plonk !!! We will be coming back real soon thank you once again
R. R.
Friendly and welcoming staff, but didn't have my first choice main course.
J. L.
Nice staff nice food very accommodating to allergies, my nephew has coeliac disease and therefore can't eat gluten and they were very kind and helpful with it. Great value for money too. Returning this week and next week with friends and family so good
C. H.
Great food and excellent service, thank you Beefeater staff 👍
P.
Met with family for father's day meal, staff were friendly and helpful and a reasonably priced meal. Easy to get to and ample parking.
J. B.
We went as a funeral party today we were a big group but didn't seem to get the great service that was expected also the fish and chips I had the batter was soggy so was a let down I spent over £60 so was very unimpressed
D. G.
We had breakfast the plates were cold food was cold and waiting around for items to be replenished
M. R. (.
Had 4 Christmas cocktails, they were tiny 😭 should have gotten 8 👀
B. D.
Food was great, and service was good - but it was a 30 minute wait between arrival and receiving our drinks. However, after that all was ok. The team there very good with families
D. B.
Having a few years ago saying I would never set foot in the place again, having visited the beefeater at Newton Abbot, we gave it a go, 10 for breakfast.
It was a works meeting and majority stayed on chatting.
It was very good and the VFM was very good.
Clean, good staff and very willing customer service.
V.
Apart from the really slow service and staffs lack of training for example bringing mains to the table when our table hadnt been cleared, and instead of returning food to the pass, the waitress started handing us the plates to hold in the air and went to get more. I had to call her back and tell her to take the stacked plates away. Not good when theres 5 of you sat at a table and no room. However, the food was delicious.
c. d.
Great choice of breakfast items English and continental. Nice selection of bagel, crumpets and croissants. Will cook veggie sausages if they have them!! 🙈 Lovely staff!
A. M.
Pleasant but not outstanding food. Service was friendly and good. Update: Sunday lunch was good. Fake 'n Ale pie (vegetarian) was good and the carnivores enjoyed their roast beef. Reasonably priced.
F. M.
Brilliant food, but not much for vegetarians. Some of the staff were really helpful. One of the party asked for a medium steak and got a well done!
A. B.
Food not bad service & atmosphere OK.
M. Y.
Three of us visited on a Saturday and two of us had the mixed grill and one had rib eye steak with king prawns. All the food was awesome, I can't fault it, we left full and feeling like we got good value for money. The staff were happy and friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere. I will definitely visit again.
G. M.
Basic Beefeater. Food was good . Helpful and friendly service. Plenty of parking. Dine in lunch.
S. C.
Nice environment, helpful staff and nice food. Would recommend and would visit again.
K. M.
I stayed at the premier inn attached and had a great night sleep was very comfortable. We had dinner and Breakfast here and the food was OK. The breakfast was filling thanks to the help yourself cold options and there was plenty to choose from. Fruit, pastries, cereal toast, yogurt and pancakes. The hot option was ok but you can order as much as you like and it only cost £9.50.
M. W.
Beefeaters are all the same, which I find is a good thing. Went here for a unlimited breakfast and the quality was fantastic. We booked a table for 10 and it was tucked away in the corner which made for a great experience.
R. S.
A reasonable prices, good food.
Worth it. Steak done to perfection.
L. G.
Good meals for three for our son's last night in England. Very nice apart from onion rings missing from one meal.
E. M.
Service was somewhat slow and the food took what seemed to be a long time to arrive. My partner enjoyed her smothered chicken and said that it was very nice. I did not enjoy my beef and ale pie, the pastry was very hard. The desserts were less than inspiring. Overall, a disappointing experience
K. W.
Had a lovely breakfast there, excellent range of items, worth a visit, staff v nice. If I had to fault anything I would say fix the wobbly tables! We had tea and juice all over!
S. B.
We had an open chicken sandwich each, very good value. Only thing is we couldn't see was serviettes, but a minor issue for us, hand sanitiser in my wife's bag. It's a little dark inside & TV above our heads a little distracting in the bar area, but happy to go back soon. Back again today, May 2022, great value, 2 courses for £9.45 on the bar lunch menu. Can't go wrong, great friendly service as well.
S. S.
Had a lovely meal here, the meals are huge and really nice, it was a new year's night and really busy but our wait was very short and the staff couldn't do enough for us at no point did we feel rushed
Definitely worth booking to get a table as it is a popular place
M. V.
Started recently to have our breakfast here and it's lovely, really fresh food, as much juice or tea and coffee and if you have a blue light or defence discount card the you get a decent discount.
L. B.
Really good value for money. Service is brilliant, staff couldn't be more helpful and the food is delicious. Good portion sizes as well. A well deserved 5 stars
O. G.
Was staying in Plymouth for a few nights, so used this place a few times. Had the same waitress “Connie” on both occasions she was so friendly, polite and helpful. She remembered us when we went again. The second night they were short staffed. They all worked so so hard trying to keep diners happy. Hats off to them..
D. V.
Lovely staff. Great atmosphere. Very enjoyable.
M. K.
Friendly staff who work very hard. Huge portions. Good atmosphere. Very large restaurant. Upstairs was our favourite place as all able adults. As name would suggest, mostly meat, infact beef. Would have been nice to have a bit more choice for a large mixed family group. Does what it says on the tin
p.
English breakfast delicious, very busy, book table advance recommended
L. M.
Food was quite although starter was almost cold. But waiter wasn't around to tell until too late
P. H.
Really great place to eat, the food was great and the staff, namely Iain, was great also.
I would happily dine here again.
l. d.
Me and my wife like our visit here today. Staff were friendly and provided quick hospitality. Our waitress Britney was brillaint and very helpful. Huge Thank you!! The food was huge portions and reasonably priced. The steak wasn't as well done as I asked for but other than that brillaint!
L. T. B.
We come here sometimes with friends for more of a celebration :) Would of been 5 stars but as some in a wheelchair it is a bit difficult to get to the bathroom xx
J. O.
I stayed at the Premier Inn for 5 days, I was down for training for my new job. The staff were brilliant, the breakfast and the steaks were incredible, I was made to feel at home. Thanks guys.
A. W.
Bit disappointed you really don't expect a large abstabliment like beefeater to run out off stuff the pudding I ordered came out nothing like the photo it was in a small dish so did I get the the amount I paid for not sure ? My friends ordered coffee which came without milk by the time they got it there coffee was cold so didn't drink it they did have it taken off there bill but still not good
S. B.
Very quick efficient service, good Covid 19 procedures in place.
J. R.
Had an 'all that you could eat' breakfast for £9-50 including unlimited coffee. The meal and coffee were excellent and so were the staff. Shall definitely visit again. Well worth the money.
J. H.
Had dinner and breakfast here whilst staying in the hotel next to it. Food was decent, staff friendly. Can’t fault it really.
t. j.
I used to love eating here but the all you can eat breakfast is no more and the food was ok but not its usual standard today.
F. A.
Really liked this pub, really good food, one of the best burgers I've ever had, good quick service even when clearly very busy, absolutely top marks!!
m. p.
Food was good.Lots of space inside and outside.
Best thing was the staff. These are difficult times and they were so careful and professional. A special mention for Rhys,he was so good at his job,and really seemed to enjoy it Definitely a 'people ' person, he should be looked after by the company,a real star of his trade 😃
R. J.
Always a nice breakfast to have here! All you can eat with a great variety for continental breakfast as well as fried breakfast. Staff are friendly and facilities are clean and tidy.
G. S.
Friendly staff, good food, good prices.
t. c.
Good value and lovely steak. Cooked to perfection.
J. M.
Food good, service good, but at times slow as there seemed to be a shortage of staff.
S. D.
The day we had dinner there our waitress was a little confused and stressed.
Food ok
Previous experiences had been good
D. B.
Nice place, nice atmosphere. Food was lovely and our waiter was attentive. Used as staying next door in premium inn so a handy place to eat at
R. S.
Its a brilliant pub , very new looking and plenty of seats with dividers in place on most tables
L. M.
Great choice on menu. Was a fair wait for food to come to us, we were a party of 10. It was a busy day. Despite the wait it was a good meal. Although disappointed with the apple crumble. Usually it's amazing but today wasn't as crumble was overcooked and lacking in apple. We can all have an off day. Loved the bottomless chips option. A good sized portion for all. Definitely return.
s. c.
Food of good quality, slightly lacking in customer service, lovely beer garden overall a pleasant experience.
A. Z.
Tasty food. the service was very nice
s. l.
Been here many times and was always just OK, but today the roast beef dinner was excellent. One of the best Sunday dinners we've had,Wonder if they have a new chef. Looking forward to our next roast dinner at The Beefeater

Booked in advance. We arrived and shown to table almost immediately. Obvious there were a few problems behind the scenes. Staff seemed to be on the scarce side. Despite place being quite empty service was slower than usual. However, the quality of the food certainly made up for the slowness of the service. Waitress was great to be honest and did feel sorry for her. One thing I did note, air conditioning was a bit cool. I kept my jacket on throughout. Close to being 5 stars so maybe next time.
D. S.
We were staying at the Premier Inn and using the beefeater as our breakfast and refreshments .
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Drinks changed a bit in price not sure why
The tea and coffee was not very nice

This is our 4th visit to Looe Coastal Retreat at Oakland's Park. Very comfortable clean accommodation. Had a problem with the hot water and heating one morning and within 2 minutes of me telephoning the out of hours number there was someone with us who very quickly had the problem resolved. Would highly recommend.
P. H.
Very helpful staff, great food and enjoyable atmosphere
R. H.
After a shoddy experience at a Beefeater in Bristol this was a vast improvement. Food was great and service was efficient. Ian, the server was attentive and polite, which is what you want. The manager, Agnus, i believe she was called was very accommodating too.
M. W.
Had the unlimited breakfast. Good food, copious amounts, good service. Only marred by very wobbly tables (don't overfill your drinks).
S. R.
This is a fairly large Beefeater with a cosy atmosphere. We visited on a fairly busy Saturday but were pleasantly welcomed and greeted to the bar area as the restaurant was very busy for the next couple of hours.
The service was swift, the food was nice and the drinks were great. I would definitely visit again.
My slight disappointment was my very deep fried chicken wings that were rather stodgy for the price we paid. It’s just personal taste.
a. w.
Service was great and not pushy especially considering took are time breakfast was excellent totally recommended
G. 1.
Didn't enjoy the Haddock this time ..The Batter Seamed under done .. Bit tasteless ... Perhaps the oil wasn't hot enough ? ...
D. S.
We had a lovely meal for my mother in laws 80th birthday on the 4th of September. Connie was our server and she was so attentive and kind, she honestly worked her backside off that night taking care of us all.. All 15 of us.
S. B.
staff are really friendly and service is good. covid precautions are evident and practised. food is above average but not overly exciting. the menu is the same as last year with a couple of new dishes added.
S. A.
Food was tasty, prompt and served by friendly staff. Couple of small blips due to menu changes caused by supply problems. Party of 13 people no problem.
A. S.
Always eat here when staying in the hotel next door, good service, nice choice but it is a beefeater and not a trendy vegan resturants so take your pick. Good selection of beers and just the job after working all day in Plymouth. Meals very reasonably priced and served with a smile.
P. S.
Good service from Connie, our waitress. Couldn't be any more attentive to our needs even if she tried. Food was excellent as usual.
J. B.
The staff hear were fantastic very helpful and friendly. We had breakfasts and evening meals here as we were staying at the premier inn next door. The food was nice but had run out of some things we wanted.
J.
Great food and drink. Quick service and very polite staff!
N. D.
Great place for a nice meal
j. c.
Haven't visited here for a couple of years so decided to give it a go.
So glad we did, the food was amazing and cooked to perfection.
I had surf and turf, there was an 8ox steak, lobster macaroni, king prawns, scampi and chips, it was fabulous.
We had 40% off vouchers so if you've had some vouchers put through your door use them!!
R. M.
We visited for a weekday breakfast. Covid-19 measures have obviously changed the 'normal' experience and in truth make it more functional /sterile. The staff are great and are really trying to make you welcome, the food selection is more limited but still good value. It's not what it used to be, but that's more about the current restrictions than the staff or company. We'll continue to support and would visit again.
D. B.
Timed our meal to coincide with our daughter's shift end at the restaurant and had to wait an hour as the organisation of staff was very poor
D. B.
Surprisingly good for a chain restaurant.
G. S.
Food was ok when it eventually turned up. 30 minutes from ordering to delivery of main, then a 50 minute wait for desert, even with asking for it a couple of times.
l. l.
Took my mum for mother's day. Great selection on the mother's day set menu. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Waitress was lovely and service was excellent. Left feeling very happy and well fed!!
J. P.
A fair wait to get seated when we had booked for 7.30 no one on the reception desk. Food good and the service was good from all who served us, especially Courtney well done to you. Very reasonable and value for money meal and a nice bottle of Chilean Merlow again good value, worth a visit.
D. T.
Usual good service at this conveniently located restaurant. Parking is shared with the premier inn that is attached, so can be a bit busy for parking, but I have never failed to find a spot. Good social distancing measures and precautions at the moment which is good to see. Will look forward to returning.
j. r.
I've been there before and it's been great. Tonight not so good. When the waiter came in, there were several dishes that they had sold out of, basics like lasagne shouldn't be sold out. One of our party had to send her main course back. The scampi was drenched in cooking oil and the chips were supposed to be triple fried but weren't. I have to say my meal was lovely they sell the Beyond Meat burger so for veggies and vegans this is good, but not a brilliant selection for the non meat eaters.
A. G.
Food quality was okay, not great, but okay. Staff were inconsistent with their Covid secure practices. One server said they cannot touch the plates but the next server brought our plates in hand and then dropped spoons on the tables. The price was good but overall it lacked quality and consistency.
t. t.
We hadn't booked a table but were accommodated with a table for 3. The waiting staff were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile. Thanks for making our lunch a safe one
R. B.
It has an extensive menu with lots of different options. Food is well cooked and served by very friendly, jovial staff. A very nice place to come for pub food extra at reasonable prices. Can get very busy so always worth booking in advance, despite it's large size. If there's one concern, as a nonlocal who doesn't know about alternative parking options, it's that the car park they share with the next door premier inn is not very large and you might worry about where you are going to park if eating at a popular time. Well worth a visit though.
D. F.
Food was good if you've got a discount voucher, expensive for what it is if not. We were a large party on a Sunday tea time, but a long wait for food and some confusion over our order spoilt it a bit. Waitress was as good as gold.
S. C.
Lovely friendly staff..had all you can eat breakfast..hot, tasty and quick service..
E. B.
Great meal good food! Worth serching out voucher for meal deal didn't find this out until paying full bill! Would recomend
T. S.
I went with my wife and daughter on the day that managers swapped with the waiting staff for a charity event, and the Front of House greeting was very kind and hospitable as always. However once seated I was served by a woman who was obviously a manager in her day job. She lacked basic customer service skills and was borderline socially inept. Fortunately we placed our orders quickly and that bought us about 45 minutes or so of pleasant dining. The food was enjoyable, though I doubt it was fresh, as my wife had Lasagne and the pasta was stiff and the minced beef was chewy as though it had been stored and re-heated. The dessert was as you'd expect for a mid-range restaurant. A little too sickly for my personal taste. Nonetheless it was a satisfactory experience. I do recommend it for people who want a quiet and inexpensive meal, but probably not suitable for any special occasions.
J.
I had a meal here with a group of about 15 people. Everything arrived piping hot, the wait wasn't long at all, steak was very good value and arrived medium rare, as per order, nicely presented. Nice, modern interior, recently renovated, quick service, a great place to meet up with friends for a steak/roast dinner!
c. m.
Very welcoming friendly staff. Table was well prepared. Good selection of continental and full English.
A. D.
Wonderful service
Not all Beefeaters are equal.
Regardless of being part of a chain, the test of a good meal out is the service. Friendly, attentive, flexible in meeting needs of three generations in one group.
Not fancy food, but every plate was cleared, every preference accounted for.
Will definitely return to eat here again.
K. K.
Very busy restaurant. Service was ok. Breakfast full English was more than enough to keep you going
G. C.
Popped in to day Sunday 29 . 4. 18 with my wife and had a nice meal. Very good service asked for some where quite. Took us up stairs in the corner excellent. Food hot, staff nice. Thanks Amy the waitress. Time was 16.30.
D. “. C.
Good food, good value and excellent service as always
C. R.
We went on a Tuesday night so I expected it to be quiet. We actually had to wait 10 minutes or so to be seated so I guess it was a bit busier than I though it would be! There were 4 of us. My husband and I and our 3 & 5 year olds. The kids were given a colouring sheet and crayons each to keep them amused. We ordered drinks, which came quickly and then food. The children's meals were brought out first which was great. It meant they didn't get too restless. Plus they take twice as long as us so it gave them a head start. The food was good, portions just right and the kids ate well which is always a good sign. We would go back. It cost us about £36 for 2 courses plus drinks (no alcohol) which was probably as much as I would want to spend on a meal out for the 4 of us. That was after our Meerkat Meals discount. Had it been full price, I would have found it too expensive.
J. S.
Food was as expected but the service was really slow. Wasn't a busy night but took 25 minutes before some one came to take our order.
S. D.
Excellent breakfast. Lots of choice, hot and delicious. Nice atmosphere. X
d. w.
Stayed at the premiere inn and paid for dinner and breakfast as it was a stop in our journey, the evening meal was just a burger but was all dried out and the fries , yuk couldn't even get the fork in them, the wife's steak was fatty and tough. The waitress was nice but to busy to give a good service. Definitely a 1 star experience... Breakfast the following morning was great, service and food was very good and the selection was fantastic, definitely a 5 star experience hence overall rating of 3 stars
T. S.
Great service , staff were very accommodating to our needs . And food was lovely.
D. A.
It's a beefeater.. I don't think the foods great but service ect was good.
J. L.
Asked for a table away from children as it can become really noisy and I do not wish to have a meal with children screaming in my ear. Was given a great table. Waiter was great. Good prices and food was lovely. Good value.
G. A.
Excellent value. Go for the mixed grill with rump steak upgrade. Fantastic. Soft drinks are expensive, even if they are free top-ups. How much cola do you really want to drink?
G. R.
Usual Premier Inn experience. Only real issue was that two of the staff in the restaurant confirmed that there would be a packed breakfast at reception in the morning as 3 of our party had to leave early .. but it didn't appear. So 12 hour coach journey started with nothing to eat. If it wasn't possible, the staff should have just told us and we could have made other plans.
S. M.
Very friendly staff, great food, great service and a great place to stop and eat before the speedway
K. A.
Very short of staff. Felt sorry for them
L. C.
Booked the day before as we wanted a family meal. The roast beef and veg was beautifully cooked. In fact my sister is going again a week later as she enjoyed it so much. It is more expensive than other similar restaurants in the area but will definitely go back for more.
N. W.
Had Sunday lunch there today. 5 adults and 3 kids. Service a little slow as it was very busy but food was lovely. Roasts were served piping hot and generous portions and steaks exactly as specified. Kids meals were substantial and empty plates all round! Desserts took a while but when they came they were also generous and tasty. The Apple betty and custard was yum! Good child friendly place with nice grub!
P. N.
Great food and friendly staff. Well worth a visit
G. S.
Classic Beefeater. Personnel is nice. The food is good too. The printed menus are food stained.
S. G.
Good food. Staff very friendly and service was quick and efficient.
P. F.
Excellent meals and lovely friendly staff, the only downside is queuing for toast at breakfast, could do with two toasters, but this is not a complaint, just a suggestion.
C. B.
Range of food on the menu is quite good, service was prompt, portions hot and plenty of it. One thing that could cause a problem is disabled access wheelchair user in particular. Overall a nice meal.
A. K.
Found it a very long wait in this Beefeater. The new lasagne was burnt around the edges and it looked a packet one, nothing like in the picture. It did taste nice I will admit. Husband asked for a rare steak and got a medium one. Found the steak small for the price. Always stay in Premier Inns and use the restaurants but really disappointed in this one
S. E.
Nice food great service
j. g.
We celebrated a Christmas meal together as a family (all 44 of us) on 19th December. Just as last year, everything went well and enjoyed by all. Friendly, patient and efficient staff, lovely food and great atmosphere. Needless to say we'll be booking there again next Christmas.
D. D.
Food was really good and cooked to our liking. Staff busy but helpful and not too rushed to help you out. Very happy with the service and the meal.
B. P.
The service was really good. But the food wasn't really worth the amount paid. I had a paprika chicken, basically a chicken breast done in a George Foreman grill (squashed flat and over cooked) a few chips and slaw for nearly ten quid!
S. P.
The pub is well decorated and feels comfortable. The food is value for money, well presented and tasted very nice. The big let down was the service. The food took a long time to arrive and a complaint to the General Manager felt brushed aside. The restaurant was busy but that's not my problem.
Z. H.
This is a great restaurant located just off of Plymouth Road, so has good access as well as bus links to almost everywhere in the city. There is a free car park outside with disabled parking, as well as a Premier Inn hotel next door to the restaurant. There are toilets inside, and the food is very nice. There is a bar to the back of the restaurant, and the staff seem polite. Overall, it's your average Beefeater restaurant. But, beware, the breakfast at this restaurant has gone downhill so much.
R. W.
Had a family meal there today ,the food was good the service was excellent.
M. F.
I came here with friends. Lovely Resturant by marsh mills roundabout .
A huge place lots of seating lovely interior.
Great for parties, groups, okay for young kids.
Premier inn next door.
The meals are excellent. A little pricey but worth it.
Big menu lots of choices.
H.
Love this place. Staff always helpful and welcoming. Food is always nice and hot when it comes out. Gotta try the steak! And sunday roasts are the best.
Had my mums 60th here in a room out the way which was fab. Never ever had to complain in all the years I've come here.
J. T.
I like going here, it conveniently situated, the staff are always nice and the place is comfortable. The food is what let's them down though which is a great shame, as a steak house, the steak you would think would be their speciality but it is never right, I still keep trying though, ha ha. I have eaten in others around the country and had lovely meals so is it just Plymouth?
L. B.
Waitress forgot 2 parts of the order so we had to wait for them after other people had already eaten most of their meals
H.
Xmas week so very busy and noisy.didn't enjoy the main course.the veg option my mum chose was around £10 worth of salad leafs over a small amount of cold, oily 'soup'.a few less leafs and it would be a perfect starter.the deserts we all had were delicious and the girl serving us was lovely...and earned the 3 stars!
L.
Steak was undercooked and cold. At least 20min wait for replacement which is ok but the other people on the table had finished their dinners.
So a re-cook of the original steak took 10 mins and was still undercooked on the inside, and tough on the outside.
Dessert was the only saving grace.
I would personally avoid Saturday evenings as it's incredibly busy and service is not particularly good.
R. J.
Good choice on menu with a lunch time £5 choice available all week except Sunday. Staff helpful and friendly put can be pushed to serve you within a reasonable time when busy. Free parking and restrooms available. Advisable to book especially on Sundays. They cater for large groups and have lots of birthday parties going on. Bar is away from restaurant though you can have a bar meal if you wish. Attached to the Premier Inn so can be very busy at times especially bank holidays.
G. M. a.
Just had lunch from the value menu . £5 for chicken and bacon on ciabatta with triple cooked chips , good sized portion properly cooked. Unbelievable value for money , cheaper and much better than fish and chips from my local take away.
G. R.
Food OK nothing to race about but staff very friendly and helpful
D. A.
We didn't stay overnight at the Premier, but w like the pub. Good service, good drink selection, slightly higher prices as befits a Hotel pub. Nice outside seating area which could do with more regular cleaning, but is very pleasant. Ideal stop right next to the main A38.
T. T.
Been before but on this occasion was not so good. I went with my 2 daughters, my eldests partner and their 18 month old twins around half 5 on Sunday the 13th.
We hadn't booked but there was plenty of room yet they put us upstairs in a booth out of the way. To be fair it was probably because there were 6 of us and most tables were for 4.
As we were there before 6, 2 of us decided to choose from the roast menu. Unfortunately they had run out of lamb so chose beef and asked for med rare. What arrived was more med but decided it was ok so didn't ask for it to be changed so as not to delay the meal. My daughter's partner is vegetarian and his 1st choice was also unavailable.
The waitress however was fantastic so we left happy
C. M.
Great place for informal business meetings. Great location with good transport links to the A38 and the city centre. Good range of drinks, breakfast is cheap and plentiful. Great place to bring children. This place also serves Costa and is nowhere near as busy the Costa in the retail park.
C. M.
Excellent food and service. They actually know how to cook a steak! Never had any issues there.
Keep an eye out for vouchers in WH Smith which give you 40% off mains, also valid at weekends.
S. b.
Poor presentation
Steak not cooked to what was requested
Lasagna pasta not cooked enough
B. C.
My partner and I Visited here tonight, we where served by Max who was very welcoming and friendly. lots of drinks to choose from, food was faster then i thought it would be as it was very busy, all cooked how we asked. Had a really nice time and well priced
T. T.
You always get the same menu,no problems there. the bar seemed understaffed so there was a delay in the service. Food was cooked how I liked it but the choices of dishes was restricted (very busy).
h. c.
nice breakfast. dinner not up to scratch
a. d.
Had a very wonderful time and gorgeous meal couldn’t fault it the steaks was done beautiful and the service was outstanding by Allie. Will definitely be booking again and certainly recommending to family and friends.
B. 8.
Food was ok but can get expensive and despite being busy service was good. Had run out of some menu items
E. R.
Food was delicious and service very good, I would highly recommend.
J. M.
I'm not normally fond of steaks, I usually end up with a disaster on my plate which is chewy and flavourless, but going to a Beefeater I thought I'll give it a go. I was surprised it was delicious juicy well cooked fantastic! I could have eaten it all over again beautiful.
d. b.
Really well set out one way system. Judith served us with a smile. We've been a few times and Judith served us then too. Definite asset to your team. Food was piping hot and served quickly.
A. W.
Pleasant staff, tables spread out so not crowded. Current delivery difficulties meant it wasn't a full menu but still a choice.
L. E.
Starter was yummy chicken wings, steak was meant to be medium but more well done, mash wasn't very nice or hot, pudding was rocky Road but I didn't have the chocolate our server Judith changed it for me because I can't eat chocolate to strawberrys and strawberry sauce. Giving 4 stars to Judith for being a great server. Ladies toilet was dirty and no soap
D. B. F.
Very busy but cheap and cheerful!
J. R.
Very busy, but staff friendly and helpful, tasty food and we'll presented.
P. C.
The place looks a little none descript and uninviting from the outside, but the Staff are so friendly and inviting, the service was excellent & the food was spot on , the place seemed very busy but the food arrived quickly. The only issue was the aircon had broken and the place was a little stuffy, ... however, it didn't deter from the evening so still 5 stars here
A. W.
Great food and friendly staff
L. T.
Lovely boxing Day lunch, 3 courses good size and tasty meals. Everyone enjoyed it
R. W.
Had a mixed grill. Just awesome!!!
r. h.
What a lovely place excellent food and the staff are just brilliant we had a nice young lady waiting on us for the evening called Lauren
V. L.
The Marsh Mills Beefeater is quite simply the best family restaurant I have ever been to, and I'm 72, so I've been to rather a lot of them. Well done to the manager, you have happy staff, and more than satisfied customers.
S. C.
Ok so this is a chain and the food tell me this too. But I had the lobster burger I really enjoyed this, it was very tasty. Washed down with Goblin Gold. The staff are very very friendly and understanding, we were meeting family who had stayed in Permier Inn, so we couldn't postpone. Our month old was in a very crying bad mood and wouldn't settle, so apologies to anyone who was there that evening. The staff Anne and her relief who I didn't catch the name off were really helpful. Asked if we wanted the food reheated and the waitress even offered to hold her while we finish our food. So this is why I have given 5 stars.
l. w.
Food came fast and was delicious, service was friendly and cheerful. Really good lunch after a day out shopping. Definitely going back
R. C.
I'm staying at the Premier Inn on business so eating all my meals here and I'm really impressed. Friendly staff, fast service and really yummy food. It's always busy in the evenings so obviously very popular.
K. H.
Food good value for money. Staff very friendly. Dog friendly beer garden.
Z. H.
Very nice restaurant. Has a Premier Inn and a big car park outside. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Has clean toilets with a disabled one and disabled parking. Has a bar and a little park for kids outside. Nice Beefeater just in Marsh Mills. Near the Parkway so easy to get to.
M. C.
Nice place. Friendly service. Food was all right but not 'knock it out of the park'
L. B.
Would have been 5 stars but for the fact that the unlimited chips offer is hidden. When you finally fathom what it entails they don't actually deliver the chips!! When challenged was offered said chips but as you can imagine our meal was all but finished so a hollow gesture.
I. H.
This was the first time I have ever been to a Beefeater. The food was very flavourful and cooked just requested. It was the nice volume of busy without being overcrowded. Will be going back again soon
G. H.
Had a lovely roast last sunday.. very friendly polite waitress...
G. B.
Simple, hearty food at a modest price. I had beer battered pollock and chips and it was very tasty for what it was and you can't go wrong when you get a good portion and it only costs about £8! My parents had the gammon with chips and a bacon cheeseburger with chips and they enjoyed both meals as a quick bite to eat before they headed home. I think the whole bill came to less than £40 including the drinks for 3 people.
B. M.
Great food, mixed grill was perfect, steak cooked exactly as asked. Salted Caramel Apple Pie & Custard was also delicious. Great friendly staff n good for groups.
N. W.
It is beautifully decorated qitj a warm cozy feel and staff were friendly but food took its time to arrive and was cold. 😔
D. G.
Staff were nice and friendly and attentive. The food however was not great. The veg was nearly cold and the top of the veg Wellington was burnt in places around the top and edges. Not bad food but not great. Staff made up for it though.
L. S.
Lovely food and lovely customer service received tonight. Waiter was called josh and he went above and beyond tonight which was hugely appreciated and made our night a lot more enjoyable so thank you josh
P. G.
If u have a voucher from hotel watch it as thay still tried charging me £16.00 so just watch your bill check as thay allso did it to quite a few people wene I was there food very nice staff nice and polite
K. E.
Excellent service was made to feel very welcome and the meal was lovely just what we've always expected didn't feel rushed at all with the service. We went to the beef eaters on quite a few occasions before Christmas for the festive Christmas meal and also New Years Eve meal.
L. F.
Review of the bar area. Cosy atmosphere. Tastey food. Good selection menu. Midweek saver menu is very good value. Worth signing up to their loyalty card, collect points to get free meals, puddings drinks etc. Also let them know your Birthday, Anniversary etc to get freebies. There is a pleasant outside eating area set amongst trees, lovely on a sunny day. You get a variety of customers due to the Premier Inn being adjoined, mid week you get quite a few buisness people on laptops. Good seating selection with stools, booth areas and small and larger tables. Very good location for travellers as its situated right on Marsh Mills roundabout just off the A38. The turning into the pub off the main road is quite easy to miss though so keep left. Also be aware of a cycle path that you cross before entering.
J. R.
Good service and a good menu; nice atmosphere - not as noisy as some!
C. C.
Had a great stay and a good experience of the bar and restaurant. It's not the Ritz but it does represent good value for money. Convenient to get to most of the best parts of Plymouth, which are thankfully on the outskirts of the rundown city centre.
P. H.
Nice food, decent prices. Very friendly staff
D. F.
Breakfast was just 'ok'. Food average. Luke warm coffee in flasks. Good customer service. Dark dining room that needed redecorating. Lots of dirty crockery & cutlery
S. Y.
Great breakfast, well organised and compared to other beefeaters in the chain, they are observing social distancing and following the protocols they advertise. We felt comfortable and enjoyed our visit
P. F.
This restaurant felt like a focal chain restaurant. Average food (noticed two other tables had complained) which was slightly more expensive than expected.
I've been a couple of times in the last month, once in my own and then again with my family; the staff were very helpful and friendly both times. The dining area feels dark and moody, and would benefit from a freshen up through refurbishment.
M. A.
All-you-can-eat English breakfast, all for £9.50. What's not to like?
D. E.
Probably unfair to rate based on a set Christmas meal, but:
Luke warm soup, no roll, but a pat of butter which was for the four floating croutons apparently!
Chewy, tough roast potatoes that had the distinct taste of being left in a fridge and reheated.
Inedible yorkies the texture of leather.
Cold turkey.
Ages to wait for the gravy, most people had half finished theirs before it arrived.
The tiny pot of cauliflower cheese was nice (but cost over 2 quid extra). The small qty of veg was also ok.
L. M.
Went there for breakfast. It was a buffet style with either continental or cooked breakfast. It wasnt too bad but the toaster takes ages to toast the bread so there are quite long queues.
S. G.
The location by Marshmills roundabout a meeting place with ample car parking .A restaurant and bar service with outside eating play area for children
Booking a table is advisable. Menu.varies with discounts.often applied .friendly ideal groups parties .
L. C.
I to try visit the bar or restaurant when ever i work away in Plymouth. Menu consists of usual mains, chicken, steak, salmon and burgers. Always friendly, can have extremely busy times but staff help calm things with their excellent approach.
D. P.
Lovely food and great staff, but part of order not delivered to table (refunded), and 35 minute wait for food when we turned up at 12pm (opening time for lunch).
R. H.
Was very nice, couple of things they didn't have on the menu but was very pleasant..
A.
Food was nice. Staff friendly and helpful.
J. N.
Lovely breakfast well worth the money and service was excellent thanks
V. O.
Excellent as always, nothing too much trouble from our lovely waitress.
M. A.
Food was okay. Lukewarm at best. Half the menu was unavailable.
E. N.
A great breakfast buffet. If you want speciality coffees such as lattes and cappuccinos you can order it from the servers.. theres regular tea and coffee already on the breakfast bar. Decent selection of hot items too.
A. B.
Always an amazing meal. Plenty to choose from and the kids menu also has lots of choice. All reasonably priced too. Already booked for my sons 13th family meal.
c. B.
The place is nice, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Though the food wasn't great for the price though to be honest.
L. R.
We had a 60th, Birthday Party here on the 17th of June, 2017 for roughly 40 people. The service was fantastic, and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
K. O.
Went for a work breakfast, all you can eat. Really tasty and plenty to pick from. It would have been 5 star but for the price £9.50 alittle pricey in my eyes.
J. H.
Great atmosphere but to popular they ran out of some of their menu items but made up with extras our waitress Ann gave us 5 star service
D. L.
Very friendly staff and a great menu at reasonable prices! Nice family atmosphere in comfortable surroundings! Would definitely recommend
D. W.
All you can eat breakfast has improved immensely now it is cooked to order.
H. M.
Excellent, friendly staff, very attentive. Had steak. Well cooked. Obviously not fine dining but good value.
N. R.
Great service, good food, thoroughly enjoyable.
J. I.
Very well laid out restaurant. Very helpful and friendly staff. Wide choice of menu and food hot and plenty of it when served. Would recommend this to anyone.
L. T.
We were more then a little disappointed that on the night we visited they didn't have any steak! rather ironic for a Beefeater! but the service is always good although it's always busy and the staff can look a little tired.
v. y.
Fantastic roast dinner, although would have preferred more vegetables - the veg portion was tiny! Potatoes and Yorkshire's were 'refillable', very tasty.

The last time I went to this BEEFEATER was over 10years ago what a difference then I had a horrible experience , today , I could NOT fault the welcome I received, and the hospitality was over the top Thank you to all who helped my Mother who is disabled and myself have a good meal, it was also her Birthday treat. Well recommended, so to the other 2 local BEEFEATER in Newton Abbot and Exeter please try a little harder, you are getting there.

I would like to say they meal in their beefeater was terrible . The way they food was presented was disgusting. And to top at this time with everyone trying to wash their hands as much as possible there was no soap in the ladies.

Staff were helpful and professional, unfortunately you can't plan on the other clientele younger customers spoilt what was a pleasant evening with bad language

The Beefeater at Marsh Mills was contacted to investigate if they would accept up to 40 persons after the funeral of Philip our well loved family member. Lisa, the Duty Manager on that day, accepted our request and confirmed both the use of Private Function Room, and the prices for 40 finger buffets and tea, coffee and orange juice.
On the day of the funeral, our group of "thoughtful and misty eyed" persons eventually arrived at the Beefeater and were met by the Duty Manager Iain.
The staff quickly showed us to the Private Function Room and supplied the food and refreshments. All present were delighted by the range, amount and presentation of the food provided. The staff, having been briefed by Iain our reason for the visit, were professional, helpful and a credit to the company. Nothing was too difficult for them, and we were overcome by the friendly atmosphere created.
Eventually, although we all had consumed a large proportion of the food and drink, it became obvious that food would be wasted. Many of us were "war babies" (who hated waste), so requested "doggy bags" to transport the excess food away. Iain again came up trumps (and thanks to him), a group of "misty eyed" folk who arrived, left with cheerful smiles and full stomachs!
The FIVE STARS are (thanks to Lisa, Iain and ALL the staff) well deserved.
Well done ALL !!!!! YOU ARE A CREDIT TO YOUR COMPANY (and YOURSELVES).
Many thanks,
Bruce Tapson

You always know, you'll get good food and good service. Unlimited chips and soft drinks keeps the outing within budget for families. - Please don't change Beefeater.

Love it here so friendley and good with kids, here for breckfast with 2 of my children and they are free to eat what they want and drink.
There is also a small carpark and there seams to alwase ve room there. The little play airea out side is also very good for slighty older children about 4-5 plus but would not recamend for toddlers. Overall nice food very friendley would defo recamend.

One of the Best Beefeaters in the region. The bar area can get really busy so be warned. Good selection of dishes on the menu. Look forward to visiting again.

Good food great staff and an excellent guineas. The new decoration has made it too dark too read the menus and they keep jamming more tables in, but it's still worth a visit

Prices are very high for the standard of food. Defo get a voucher first. Service with a Ile although quite a few mistakes made with meals and cold food being served instead of being hot.

It's alright, nothing special. The food varies from being brilliant to be ok - had an issue with the food once and they didn't charge me for the meal.

Very good friendly service with good food. The only criticism is that the menus themselves were a bit sticky /dirty, which does not have a good first impression
