Maybe the time of year, but very full for a Thursday, so obviously popular. Salad bar was fresh and well stocked and enjoyed the food. Waiter service was excellent. They seemed to have enough staff in the well equipped kitchen. Overall a pleasant evening.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I went here with my partner ,our 3 year old and 1 year old. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. When booking my table on the app I asked if they could ensure that the table we were placed at had enough room to put a my sons buggy so it wouldn't be in the way and if we could have a highchair and these requirement were provided for us with no problems. Both me and my partner got a what I describe as a 'Deluxe ' Mixed Grill and it was incredible, I had honestly never had that much food put in front of me. The staff were happy for me and my partner to swap the items on the mixed grill we didn't like for example we swapped black Pudding for an extra sausage and ensured we were satisfied with our meal when the had the opportunity. Attending a restaurant with children can sometimes be tricky however The Harvester had thay covered and up on entering you receive a children's activity pack with lots of things to keep you children entertained while you are dining. Would 100% visit again, lovely food , lovely staff altogether a great experience ❤️

Been to the Unicorn multiple times over the past few years. From date nights, to birthdays, to casual lunches they have always delivered outstanding service and food quality. Not once in my many many visits have I ever had a complaint, staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is delicious, well priced, and out the kitchen quickly. I have had multiple items from the menu every one of which has been amazing. If your looking to have a great experience dining out without breaking the bank, The Unicorn Harvester is a fantastic option.

Firstly the welcome from the staff. we were give the table of our choice ( quiet). drinks were brought quickly whilst we looked at the menu. we chose the 3 courses for just over £13. what value, do not know how you do such quality for that money. only disappointment was the garlic bread which was not slice of crispy bread but a roll with cheese on top. The help yourself salad was as good as always. we were never rushed at any stage and very much enjoyed the experience. Our server was very friendly and we all had a good laugh. She offered us all the alternatives that were available as well as the main items. Many thanks to all, we will be back

Cannot express how grateful I am to the bar team who served me, my mother, and my puppy! We had accidentally got ourselves stranded in the midday heat in Plympton with a knee injury, and they easily turned what was a very stressful situation into a lovely experience. The bar staff were very friendly and attentive, our puppy had water in a bowl within seconds with a treat or two - and our drinks very shortly followed. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, definitely will be going back (hopefully under less stressful circumstances! ). Flawless service.

Harvester is your typical fried within an inch of it's life! However the menu has changed a little the beyond meat burger fir Vegans is lovely and the cod and chips I can't fault. Service is excellent they do seem to improved. So yeah I would recommend but remember this is not fine dining!

All of the interaction from staff were great, very attentive as we had an elderly member of the family with us and it was her 80th birthday. They were very helpful regarding safety, keeping it a surprise, helping with decorations. We also brought a birthday cake with us and we were given extra cutlery and plates for it which i thought was extremely helpful and kind.

The Chefs, Steve and Ryan delivered fantastic food. Molly our server was outstanding and very attentive. Our desert made by Crista was second to none. These are all the reason we keep coming back. Restaurant was very pleasant. However, my husband had the 10oz steak that was warm rather than hot, by the time he was half way through it the meal was cold. Plates were cold so probably the reason why. Also it wouldn’t hurt to have a selection of mustards it was hot English or nothing.

I've always enjoyed coming here and to be fair I do always enjoy the food, it's a pretty solid bet but since various menu changes over the years it doesn't have the same appeal to me personally that it used to have and the service is not the best, a lot (but not all) of the staff on entry are actually quite rude but on this particular experience we were waiting so long for the bill it was as if our table was just forgotten about amongst the chaos, bread rolls seem to just be stale now, I remember they used to always be soft and sometimes even still warm I guess it's the little things, good job the setting is quite ambient and chill though makes the lengthy waits a bit more comfortable, having said all this the unlimited refill drinks are great value for money, it just seems to have become more average than great over over the years, shame really it was always my go to restaurant but sadly that is no longer the case, I keep going back now and again just to see if that old standard may have returned however sadly it just never has been.

Had a lovely experience at The Harvester this evening for a birthday dinner. Food was delicious and a special mention for our server Molly, who was absolutely fantastic and Alistar who helped me out with cooling my baby’s bottle down (lifesaver!) 5* service, would definitely come here again!

Do you remember those times you used to go to a Harvester and come away feeling really full? Well those were the 'good old days'! Portion sizes weren't amazing, the chip portions are pretty measly and some of the dishes we had weren't particularly hot. They were very busy when we went, but for the prices and portion sizes, I would at least hope for a hot meal. I get that we could have sent it back, but it took some time to get served so didn't all want to be eating at different times. One person had half a chicken (or it got referred to as a sparrow!) .. we then reminisced about the good old days again, when you could actually get your fingers in a wish bone to pull it!

I visited with my teenege daughter for food on Sunday 6th November and was greeted by friendly staff. Our waitress Lauren was brilliant. Quick and efficient and very friendly. The food was really enjoyable and arrived quickly. It has gone up in price (which was unexpceted) however if the standards have increased alongside that's a good thing.

We had our second visit to your restaurant and we were not disappointed on the unlimited breakfast for £8.99 . It was amazing value , fresh hot and very tasty . We were served by Ervis again , what a breath of fresh air , he made us feel welcome , he was happy to help , very friendly and he had us in stitches . What a star , he deserves employee of the month , quater and year . Most servers cannot be bothered , but he was every thing but , we would definitely visit again .

This was our first visit to the Harverster in Plympton and I can say it's alot different to the other Harverster was have visited. When we arrived we was welcomed by a lovely lady who showed us where we can sit, we sat down looked through the menu and we expecting someone to come up and ask us for meal but this was not the case you can either order up the bar or using the app which waz on the table. So we used the app to order our meals and I can wow really quick and responsive meals came out and we not complain. The issue I have is that using the app has then little interaction with the staff on the restaurant. Overall experience 8/10

Very nice eaterie. Situated next to a Texaco petrol station. This site has car parking just off a busy road. There is quite a lot of parking but during busy periods it may be difficult to find a space. Inside the building there are lots of tables to eat at and is light and airy. Once seated you get given the menus to choose from. The server brings you some bowls for the free salad. They then take any drink orders. Once the drinks have been bought to your table. Your order is then taken. It is then when you can get the salad from the salad bar, which is free and also is unlimited. Meals are brought to your table fairly quickly depending on how busy the restaurant is. Meals are good and tasty. There are toilets available situated at the rear of the building. Very nice place to eat.

It's a standard harvester with the unlimited salad cart. They were really busy though and I found they'd given us a table where there was a lot of people traffic so I was knocked by a couple of waitresses and kids running about between tables and the 'magic' fizzy drinks machine. The service was also really slow here. The food was fine. Portion sizes were generous. You certainly have no reason to leave here hungry. I will probably return another time but will pray it's a lot quieter.

Our server Michelle (K) was great despite my husband.... who is a joker but not everyone likes or appreciates his humour.. we were visiting my daughter and friend who are at uni in Plymouth and the Kettering harvester was always a favorite at home in Northamptonshire before it was closed😭. Michelle was a bubbly happy server and was very helpful attending to our requirements. We will definetly be back next time we visit Plymouth. What you could do to improve..... open another havrester nearer to Corby... the Northampton Harvester is not a patch on the old Kettering one or the one in Plymouth.

Enjoyed coming here for a family meal. Most of us really enjoyed our meals however my mother had ordered a steak that didn't arrive cooked as requested, then once it came back after redoing it the whole meal was cold and the steak had only be seared on the outside rather than cooked for longer so the inside was still fair too rare for her. If it had come back better then I would have given a higher rating.

Wasn't expecting much as this appears to be the only Harvester near Cornwall, but my chicken skewers were beautifully cooked and succulent. Everything was hot and tasty. The only slight con was that due to covid we couldn't fetch our own salad, but a lovely member of staff was on hand to fetch exactly what we wanted. I think the salad choices were less than usual too. But this did not detract from a great meal.

A pretty meh experience when we visited. Not bad enough to complain but just not great. Our waiter forgot about us twice meaning we waited 20 minutes while trying to catch his eye before he spun round with a panicked look and remembered us. He then forgot to give us cutlery which took another 10 minutes before we could start eating our salad... Food was ok, portions good and the price reasonable. Nothing special but a full belly at the end. I'm sure they will say "we were very busy" or "we're short staffed right now because of the Pandemic" but I'm sorry, that's just not an excuse and is corporate non-speak for "We can't be bothered to pay competitively enough to properly staff a shift". I'm also sure they will remark that I should have raised it at the time but not everyone is comfortable with confrontation nor every issue warrants wasting time talking to the manager, so I raise it here as a thoroughly average experience was had by all.

I don't eat chocolate so nice change that deserts weren't all chocolate as is the case in lots of restaurants and pubs these days. Had a giant size Eton mess with strawberries. Yum. Food 5 star. While the staff were working efficiently and with a friendly smile it would have been helpful if we had been informed of delays in the kitchen. After a longer than expected wait the food arrived, nicely presented and cooked. I understand that there are issues in food supply chains at the moment, but apart from a notice advising of general shortages there was no indication about daily menu availability issues. Also the ambient low buzz of conversation was shattered occasionally by the powerful screeches of a child whose parents should have known better. As is the case, " child friendly " establishments are not necessarily "adult friendly. "

Visited today at 6pm through booking up in advance. We were greeted very warmly by the lady at front of house who asked us to do our track and trace and was very patient with us, as all 6 of us had to find it on our phones, as we haven’t been out for a long time so wasn’t prepared. She made us feel welcome and relaxed and showed us to our table and said now a waitress would look after us. It soon got very busy and the girls who were working had to work doubly hard. Our waitress was Michelle K who we’ve had on many occasion and she is an absolute asset to harvester as she is so welcoming and professional and always gets the job done. The food today was stunning, even though the chefs must’ve been under pressure. The salad bar was fresh and tasty and so much more hygienic now the staff make it up for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today and can’t wait to go back again.

Top guys! Never unhappy! Several years ago I'd grab lunch almost daily at McDonald's. I discovered unlimited salad and table water for £3.99 in the day. I was there daily! Pleasant pub / restaurant offering a variety of light bites / meals with indoor / outdoor seating. (Wheelchair friendly). Tables spaced appropriately to allow plenty of room for entering /leaving pub. Salad bar available on request & served to each customer when required by waitress, reducing risk of cross contamination & unnecessary waste. Tables wiped after each sitting & Covid measures in place. Had Salmon Fish Cakes served beautifully with white wine & butter sauce, lemon wedge, chips & peas. The fish cakes were cooked to perfection with a crispy crumb, piping hot, however the salmon content was considerably less than it's advertised photo. One family member had Cod & Chips which was beautifully cooked with substantial portions. Another had mix grill which looked lovely. The menu offered several promotions making it reasonable in costs. Our waitress was courteous, efficient & explained necessary steps required to ensure Covid measures were respected.

Sadly despite using a tablet to record what we wanted an orange juice was forgotten and one of the breakfast had the wrong type of sausage and also wrong quantity. There was quite a wait for the food we thought, though the replacement sausages did arrive quickly. We were in a booth, lots of empty tables, but they sat another party in the next booth so the back of our heads were almost touching. Since my last visit resulted in 'rubber eggs' I think we are not going to come back again for breakfast. Maybe an evening meal will be better, reviews look good for evening food.

Everything was great, with one exception. Staff were helpful, food was amazing. However, with the Coronavirus restrictions, you couldn't go to the machine to get refills you were entitled to. The waitress asked those around us if they wanted top ups, but we were never offered them, and she was very busy as no one else seemed to be serving. I have been to this restaurant a number of times and always enjoyed the food. It is good, honest and reasonably priced. I visited for lunch today and had the cowboy burger (chicken). It was moist, flavoursome and properly cooked. There were 2 pieces of chicken (with seasoning) bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese and BBQ sauce. It was accompanied by spicy fries and homemade coleslaw. My son had the same. Both of us were full and happy at the end. I was only a bit disappointed because I didn't have room for one of their lovely I've cream Sundaes. Service was quick and polite and we enjoyed the salad bar whilst waiting for our main meal.

I've visited this restaurant/bar 3 times, my first visit was for a drink with friends and despite it being busy we were allowed to sit at a nice table. The food and drink is affordable and very good quality. My second visit was for food and once you order you're allowed free access to their large pasta/salad bar and delicious fresh rolls! The menu is large and their gluten-free/vegan options are brill! I saw on a notice on the table we were sitting at that I could pay with their app, curious me wanted to explore this so I downloaded it and after entering the table number I was able to view the bill and pay within seconds! It felt a bit weird walking out without having to order the bill! The third visit was just as nice, we were tended to very well and received our food promptly. A very nice place!

Went along as a group of eight with Groupon Vouchers. Quiet a few dishes on the menu are not covered by the voucher, they don't have a separate menu so the waiter had to read what we were allowed out to us. Considering there were eight of us this was confusing to say the least. Food came out at different times making almost impossible for us to eat together, by the time the last main meal was served the first diner had finished the same went for desserts. On the up side the waiting staff were friendly and the food wasn't bad. I would not go again with a group of anymore than four as the are obviously not geared up for it.

Went for an afternoon meal today. Warm welcome from staff but I was surprised to see none of the staff were wearing face coverings. I am classed as extremely vulnerable and I would have felt safer if the staff team were at least wearing face shields which are very comfortable. It might not be a legal requirement but as a manager I would ask my staff to wear them, it gives the public reassurance and it gives the staff some protection. You have no idea who you are serving or what germs the public bring with them. My choice of a double burger for a main was a mistake as both burgers were grossly overcooked with a very hard blackened appearance. To be fair our server was concerned I hadn't eaten it and offered a replacement but I had eaten my fill and didn't feel like making a fuss. I have had many lovely meals at the Unicorn, I just made a bad choice. I would certainly return to the Unicorn but I wouldn't choose burgers again.

Quite a nice atmosphere, ok service, but quite a lot of family noise, very busy at the weekend, and just pray you don't get seated next to the coke machine, otherwise you have kiddies queuing next to you half the night. Came here Friday 29th November for my mother’s 70th lunch ,six of us and all of us enjoyed the food , I thought the steak sandwich was outstanding, staff were friendly and polite the only thing stopping giving five stars was the wait for the food which was a little slow . This place is amazing the BBQ ribs are out of this world and the BBQ sauce is amazing. Really incredible. Chicken tenders are very nice! All the staff are really friendly and there is no reason why not to visit this place!

The food was top notch they made us feel at ease the salad bar was fresh and full, there was 7 of us and everything we ordered was brought out correct and fast. We stayed a couple of hours and was never made to feel like we should have been gone quicker than that.

Went for breakfast with the family. The unlimited continental breakfast bar was fab! The 3 adults had a hot breakfast too and kept having as much toast and tea.rtc as we could want and were also able to use the continental breakfast to get some weetabix for our weaning baby. Great place, went there around Christmas time and they had mini mince pies on every table FOR FREE! Not much is for free these days so it did make us feel special...good parking lot and very convenient location, not far from the A38 and there's a petrol station virtually next door. Regular breakie or lunch here with friends. Really good food but only give it a 4 star as have some days where the food just isn't up to scratch but the good out ways the bad. Great service and great salad bar. If they just keep up with great food every time they would have a 5* maybe different chefs having an off day....

Ordered from the early bird menu, my dish had bits missing and my wife's half a rack of ribs was not half a rack just three ribs so a little disappointed. Staff we good. My wife had to complain as we had to ask for a key for the baby changing facilities which is also the disabled toilet my wife thought this was a little undignified for a disabled person to have to ask for a key to go to the toilet. I saw a elderly disabled person complaining to her friend that she was going to struggle using the toilet facilities as the disabled toilet was locked

Been to the harvester quite a few times over the years had some decent food here but also had a few not so good meals here. I would say the food is average staff are polite and genrally look afer you. If you are looking for a cheap meal with average food then go to the harvester you also.get unlimited salad so this saves buying a starter.

Salad bar was low in supply, and the chef's were spending more time watching the football, so service times were poor and the food overcooked.

Recently refurbished and looks great. Been coming for year's. The staff are very friendly and the service is fantastic. Food arrives quickly and piping hot. The bowls for our salads were dirty. The drinks were awful, flat and far too much syrup in them. Also Harry ignored us.

From the moment we walked in we were treated as vip's. We had their free salad starter and the the chicken stack. There was so much chovken we striggled to eat it.
