M. B. E. A. P. B. K. W.I decided to go and try out the burger night at B and B and I not disappointed.
The burger was freshly made, turned up to the table piping hot and tasted simply amazing.
I went for the steak burger with cheese and bacon and it was sensational.
I also upgraded my chips to the salt and pepper option and again they were delicious.
The service was great as usual and I really enjoyed the night.
Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
I. G.Really pleased with my experience here. I took my coeliac nephew for some food and the staff were really helpful. They made sure to help guide us through the menu and make sure we were taken care of. And the food was really nice. Would definitely go back soon, especially knowing they accommodate for gluten-free diets. Thank you to the helpful staff!

B. S.Well. Where can I start? We went for the Sunday lunch. From the outside it looks clean and sharp but...cosy. Inside, it's not the biggest place but the intimate setting and being able to see into the kitchen really adds to the atmosphere and gives the impression that they know what they're doing, they're proud of what they're serving and they want you to see the magic happen. And my oh my. I was expecting a nice roast. I was not expecting faultless food. I mean really, totally, exceptionally, faultless. Hands down the best roast I've ever had (don't tell my mother in law). I had a lamb roast, it was hot when served; the perfect quantities; the mash was buttery; the gravy was rich; the LAMB, it just melted. Not to forget the service, attentive but not overbearing. All for £16? These guys are playing the game at a level for above what they're charging and all I can really say is bravo and see you again very soon.
R. I.Loved our baked camenbert, hands down the best one we've ever had in a restaurant, it was baked to perfection and stunning flavours. Staff went out of their way to fulfill our special request! Thank you so much! Would love to be able to access the menus somewhere though!?

Presentation of it was amazing and looked great. Staff really pleasant and couldn’t do enough for us.

B. W.The food was lovely; my son loved the Vanilla and Toffee milkshake and I thoroughly enjoyed my Chai Latte, however… the portion size for the Afternoon tea was pretty dire.
For two people, normally costing £40 (we secured the Afternoon tea deal of £15pp) you’re provided with;
- 4 finger sandwiches (so a single full sandwich);
- 4 slim mozzarella sticks;
- 2 chicken goujons;
- Small portion of chips;
- 2 small scones;
- 2 slim slices of flapjack;
- 2 slim slices of marzipan;
- 2 small cups of soup;
- 2 hot beverages.
One small tower of food was provided and we thought it was for one person, but alas, it was for two. Being from Lancaster, I regularly frequent the Kings Arms which charges £14.95 pp, and you get more per person than what you get for the two at Bread and Butter. I’ll reiterate, the food was lovely, the portion size/charge for the amount of food is shocking.

Staff were lovely. Had to ask for our drinks but not a problem. Had popped in to pay a deposit the day before and saw all the gorgeous cakes in the chiller. So slightly disappointed these weren't on the afternoon tea! But lovely atmosphere and helpful staff.

J. W.We went into the new Bread and Butter venue for an afternoon 'brew and a cake'. Whilst the things we were served were very tasty, and the service was great, the scones were the smallest I've ever been given in my 50yrs on planet earth (and I've eaten quite a few). About 3cm across and £2 each. After discussing this amicably with the staff I understand that they are trying to provide small 'sweet treats' that someone may choose after a main course. That may be fine for some, but not for me. Even then, they should be priced accordingly. There's nothing wrong with the place but you need to be aware before committing to buy.
G. D. T.We recently visited this establishment and were promptly let down due to customer service.
They prioritised other customers and we were ignored at times, we remained calm and polite during this.
In the end we got charged for an additional main meal on top of what we already had, when i mentioned the additional item being added to the bill, we were met by unprofessional behaviour by the staff which made us feel uncomfortable.
We won't be back to try the overpriced food again as customer service let us down.

A. H.Came for lunch with my friend Helen. Lovely little cafe with very friendly and helpful staff. The cakes are huge with lots of selection. I had a sausage ciabatta with chips which was very tasty. We shared a scone with ham and cream to spoil ourselves. It got a little smokey at times when they were cooking but it soon cleared with the front door opening and closing. Lovely place to go with friends for a catch up.

P. C.A warm welcome and a lovely lunch. Went for lunch with my old mum. Faye and the gang are all lovely and the welcome was warm and attentive. The place is homely and unfussy and the food and drinks are really first class. Mum had the home made mushroom soup and I had the sausage and caramelised red onion ciabatta which was served with a crisp salad and a basket of really nice little fries. All finished off with a pot of tea. Everything was hot, delicious and worth every penny. This is a wonderful little place run by nice people. Go there ; you won't be disappointed.
