We came for a family lunch and had a very good time. The staff were very welcoming and friendly! We had our pooch on tow and she was also very welcomed! They had some doggie treats which she enjoyed very much. There were a lot of choices on each course and it suited our family of different tastebuds! The food was fresh and delicious. There were a few I would have chosen! So will come back to try the other dishes!!

The food and menu are excellent, the beer is good too. We've been a couple of times but this particular visit, unfortunately the service was below it's usual standard, we seemed to arrive at the end of one shift and sort of got forgotten about having to remind the staff we had ordered drinks and waiting a while between courses. Lovely place, beautiful decor and large garden with plenty of outdoor seating. Only issue is the close proximity to the dual carriageway. Unfortunately I've just re-visited and had a meal and I've needed to downgrade it to 3 star's from 4 as the food was poor. It was kebab night so I chose the vegetarian option of halloumi and unfortunately it was bearly cooked. Only the halloumi was cooked fully, the red onion was completely raw as was the courgette and peppers. The wraps were also cold. In fairness my friend had the lamb kebab and said it was cooked better and tasted nice, so maybe its just the halloumi. I also had the strawberry and passion fruit Eaton Mess which was tasty but a bit disappointing as the passion fruit was just ice cream and the strawberries had been blended to almost oblivion into whipped cream. It would have made a big difference if they had added a couple of fresh strawberries ontop of the cream mixture just before it's served. I'm also sorry to say that the young girl who served us was miserable and didn't listen as she got my drink wrong, I'm just glad I checked as I was driving and would have been over the limit.

This was our first visit to an Ego restaurant, but it will not be our last. We called in without a reservation and they were still able to accommodate us even though obviously quite busy. Service was spot on, attentive but not over bearing or pestering. The food was excellent, could not fault starters, main course or the dessert ( the Choc brownie sundae was HUGE!) Overall a great meal out and we will be revisiting.

Good pub food and a nice range of beers including real ales. The kebabs are their speciality and are the biggest and tastiest kebabs I've eaten in a pub setting. There is also a wide range of other options including some vegetarian and vegan options. The decor and furniture are bright, clean and modern. To conclude it's a nice place to come and have a relaxed pub lunch or evening meal. BTW Thursday is reduced price kebab night!

I booked a table at Little Hoole on Friday. Nice location, good food BUT the concept of Prix Fixe it is used wrong...either is fix or not. I ordered from Prix Fixe menu a sirloin stake and calamari and they added £4 to the price (that is ~25% more). I could have ordered from the A la Carte menu and had 20% off as I had a voucher...but well. On top of that, when ordering Mini Ego - sticky toffee pudding + coffee, I didn't get the ice-cream. I wanted to use my voucher for desert and drinks but the staff suggested to use it another time. It won't be another time. I will stick with Bistrot Pierre.

This is a lovely place for a meal feels a bit special would be a great place for a family celebration or a date. My son and i stopped on the way to somewhere else for lunch, i had beef bourguignon(sp?) so good i forgot to take photo, and son had the hanging chicken. Just been for my daughters birthday meal and what a fantastic place, food spot on. My fillet steak melted in the mouth even though I asked for it well done, just goes to show it can be well done and cooked perfectly and not tough! Kids menu was fantastic with large portions. Look upon it as a typical Spanish restaurant where the food is freshly cooked but will take a little time to arrive dependent upon the number of people dining. Sit back and chill.

Excellent food and service. Really good food options. Sadly this was 2019. Now it's 3 stars. After several visits this year the standard has dropped a lot. To be unable to cook a roast potato and be happy to serve it says a lot about a chef. Also over cooked beef and over cooked small (portion controlled) portion of lamb. Some of the food is still good standard but it's a gamble.

Absolutely loved it, we dropped in today very last minute and sat outside to enjoy a lovely 'fixed price three course dinner'. We had a party of four and every one of us raved about our meals, from starter to main to dessert they were all delicious, flavourful and great portion sizes. I would also like to say a huge thank you for such a great gluten free choice, receiving a gluten free menu that was the same size and selection as the standard menu filled me with joy and I really did appreciate it. We did however wait a while to order our meals then had to wait a long time between the main and desserts however it was worth the wait. We would definitely recommend and will definitely make a trip out again for another visit. I would definitely recommend a revamp in the bathrooms to get them up to the same standard as the rest of the establishment. Thanks so much for a wonderful afternoon, 10/10 👍🏼

Very friendly atmosphere, your not sat on top of other tables, staff very courteous and helpful. We haven't been in here for over 18 months. The pub has taken over and the menu is obviously different. Some part of the menu is slightly over pricey but on the whole it's pretty average. Food we had was OK, decent portion etc. Give them your marketing details and Sign up online for the usual birthday treat etc. Can get quite busy so booking is advisable (especially fri>Sunday). Lots of parking but the main entrance is on the opposite side of pub from the car park so take a coat if it's raining! All in all a good visit!

Disappointed with the roast dinner -even more so when I spotted the tray of sliced pre cooked beef in the kitchen. Kids were well entertained by the resident young lady who had them colouring and making things ! Drinks are expensive too. 2022 update -been a flag waver and avid fan here -but I'm afraid that's it for us -came on the deal for a birthday -still cost nearly £70 even with the discount -not what i expected ! I now wished I had complained -the steak I got was burned (charred) badly (considering i asked for medium rare )and that was the lasting taste it left . Not impressed and won't be rushing back . We had a really delicious meal at The Fox, great choice menu. We sampled each others starters, the chicken pate n black pudding n mozzarella starters were gorgeous. We came for the Monday meal deal which we've enjoyed several times before. As always the waiting staff were friendly and efficient (hence 3 stars) but my meal was not great. Starter of goats cheese was small and ok but not as good as when I've had it before. My lamb main was so undercooked when it was served that it was practically bleating. My meal was changed without fuss although it meant myself and my partner ate separately. If you have wine with your meal then this is a good meal deal but if I had ordered this from the menu at full price on another day and I was served the same meal I wouldn't be very happy. This is a great pub and food is generally good but we were disappointed on Monday.

Prawns were as if they had been bought from Iceland, lack of flavour very watery. Main was paella where it tasted great only downside the mussels had been cooked way too long and were dried out.

We're never disappointed when we go to the fox cub. The staff are brilliant and nothing is ever too much trouble. There's an extensive drinks menu including cocktails and gin menu, too. The food is great. We regularly eat in there and have never had a bad meal. I'd recommend you give this place a go, it's worth it.

What a wonderful warm welcome we received on our visit this afternoon. Lovely surroundings in this tastefully decorated restaurant and the Sunday roast lunch was delicious. I had the roast beef cooked pink, and my wife had the chicken. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. Highly recommended and we will be returning next Sunday without a doubt.

Overall, quite good but inconsistent. Some meals/courses are very good, others less so. Order carefully, and be sure to sign up for their offers newsletter. For good value, arrive well before 7pm to choose a 2-for-1 cocktail and order from the Prix Fixe menu. It's nice inside and out (if you don't mind traffic noise) and the staff are excellent. Look out for the specials on different days - eg: steak night, tapas, etc.

Brilliant value on the Rapido Lunch menu. Just £5 for a main course in January, and the food was excellent with surprisingly generous portions for the money. Great food and service considering that it was very busy. Great choice of food for all but the fussiest. My Wife is vegan and took our two fussy kids - but all was fine. Prices a little above normal, but you have to remember it is a restaurant, not a pub doing pub grub. I thought the drink prices were ok. Again a little above normal but nothing wild - unless you want the drinks from the bottom of the list. Would definitely eat there again.

Had a lovely family meal here yesterday, Everyone was catered for from young child to only steak eater, to two vegetarians (me and daughter). The veggie options are really good, I chose haloumi kebab and daughter had risotto, both very tasty. Deserts good, we liked the option of having a smaller desert with a coffee or tea, just to finish the meal off. The atmosphere is relaxed and service very good, very personable and friendly staff. I'll definitely return!

The moment we went in we felt reassured with their COVID practice that they have in place; -Clear instructions politely given -There is a sanitise station on entry/exit -Tables spaced out comfortably to regulations -A named member of staff serving at our table -Single use menu's -Cutlery wrapped in serviettes... Tried their Take away service for the first time, hoping for some lockdown normality. It was ok/good. Starters of camembert wedges and mushrooms on toast. Camembert was standard pub fayre. Mushrooms tasty but toast soggy. Perhaps should of thought of that before ordering. Main courses of Milanese Chicken and Chicken/Chorizo kebab. Kebab was ok, just not a lot. Six tortillas to wrap up six small pieces of chicken and 4 thin slices of chorizo - think they got the quantities wrong somewhere. Very tasty though. Milanese chicken was superb, as good as when eating in. Seeing as this was the reason for ordering from Ego it rescued the evening and led to 4 stars. Overall good experience. Everything was well organised and very neatly packaged. Will go back but perhaps will try something else...not kebabs or the mushrooms. Just make sure you have a 20% discount voucher, otherwise it would be a bit pricey

Excellent decor, with really attentive and friendly staff. The menu has a wide selection on it - whilst it feels like a traditional cosy pub/restaurant, the menu certainly provides a lot of choice and variety. Good value for money, too - especially on Sundays with their 3 courses for £18 deal.

Food was nice, very nice actually. Maybe a little on the expensive side. What really knocks the score down is we were sat Infront of a fireplace on a cold day and because the fire was not on, the cold air from outside blew down the chimney and straight on to us. We were freezing. We also witnessed the disabled access bell not working and people trying to get in were ignored. They were knocking (banging actually) for a while on the door and the staff just walked by like they couldn't hear it. It was quite uncomfortable to witness. One last thing to mention is we tried to book a group of us in and they wanted to charge us a 10% service charge. There's a great range of food on the menu and you can't go wrong. Last night I had a vegetarian roast which was delicious. The staff are good - there was a slight mishap with the bill but it was resolved immediately.

I would advise that you book a table in advance particularly at weekends. The food is extremely well presented but the portions on the small side. Menu is excellent but not extensive. Staff are extremely helpful and keep a careful eye on each table so you are not kept waiting between courses. My one criticism is that you do not get a fork with desert and if you have chocolate brownies, gateaux or even the apple and blackberry crumble you have to chase it round the plate and try to hook it with the spoon. Highly entertaining but needs addressing. On this occasion there were 2 birthday parties in so it did get a little noisy. I can't make up my mind whether or not this is a top notch pub or a middle of the road restaurant. Either way it is well worth a visit but they need to up the game to compete with the nearby Langs of Longton and San Marcos of Much Hoole. Thank you for the response however I would blush were I to ask for a "firk".

Visited on a Monday night for the 2 courses and a bottle of wine for £19:95....as many menu mains are around £15 with starters about £6, and the house wine £15 it's a no brainier. Upgrade the wine to a lovely Pinot or Malbec etc for £5 and you can't beat this! We ended up with a couple of £20+ wines a fillet steak with sauce for a supplement of £5 & £2:50 and two mini desserts with coffee for an extra £20 odd quid. The same meal at either of the two very near restaurants within a stones through would cost well over £100-£150...... The food was very good as was the service and speed of service.
