An absolute must! We have heard nothing but great reports from friends and family who have been here so our expectations were extremely high. We were NOT disappointed! From food choices to presentation, big portions and incredible flavours it was amazing. The staff from being greeted and seated to waiting on were all a credit to the company. Everyone was super friendly and attentive going the extra mile with everyone. Fantastic eating experience and super chilled friendly atmosphere like being at home. Highly recommended 10/10 Can't wait to go back.

Great ambience. Wide choice of food on the menu. All dishes (we were a table of 8 plus four kids!) we’re excellent. Good sized portions, well presented, delicious tasting, the gravy was to die for! Great choice of unusual desserts, the campfire marshmallows and chocolate sauce were incredible! Staff were all pleasant, We will definitely be back!

Great decor inside and out, all matching the Texan theme. Outdoor seating is heated and looks comfortable, but is limited. Indoors is just as nice as out, with posters adorning the walls and lots of helpful staff ready for any questions. You are also given free popcorn and a bottle of water on the way in. Food is absolutely stellar despite the price, we had The Corn Dogs, Burnt Ends, The Go Big Or Go Home Burger, The Chicken Fried Waffle and The Hickory's Veggie Burger. All of this was great, and you can't go hungry with such large portion sizes. We were only slightly disheartened by the Veggie Burger, the vegetarian in our group was pleased that there was an option for their diet, they complimented the skin-on fries and house slaw however they thought the hash brown was tasteless, and burger in general was average. Overall, great experience, great service, mostly great food, and definitely a recommendation. You won't go hungry.

I got the pretzel and hand pulled beef brisket for my birthday dinner and I tried a lager shandy (now that I’m 16), all of which were very nice. The staff were very helpful and got us everything that we asked for (including a chilli that my brother wanted). If you’re in the area, this is somewhere that you must try! I drive past here everyday to school and I have seen the work that they have put into this place; it’s so nice to see it all together after many months of hard work. (If you’re looking at the photos, we didn’t sit outside, it’s 11C, I didn’t take any photos of the inside)

Had the best time for my nephew’s 6th birthday party. From start to finish the waiters were amazing, so polite and accommodating. 16 of us all got our food together, without mistake and it really was excellent!! I opted for southern fried chicken Mac and Cheese with maple syrup, onion rings and pit beans and between us all I think we managed to try almost the entire menu. Would have loved blue moon on draft but bottled with a fresh orange was still pretty good. Well worth a visit.

Wow! Just wow- was that worth the 4 week wait from opening! Service was fabulous, frequent members of staff apologised for them being so busy on a Sunday evening (we were just thankful we’d checked online booking again this afternoon as yesterday it said they were fully booked!). Whilst there was a short (30-40) minute wait for starters, it was worth it. We all loved our choices of food, the husbands steak was HUGE, rare and perfect. The brisket Mac and cheese, sublime, and the frickles all I hoped for 😂 We had no room For dessert but when we saw that the next door table had, toast at your table s’mores, we’ll pace ourselves better next time 😜

Went with my husband and 8 year old. We had a fantastic time. Great booklet for the kids to fill out and keep then entertained but thats not the best of it. There is a cinema inside. Only been once, so just a 4 star review at the moment. Good atmosphere, good choice of (barbecue style) food, beef brisket was very tender, almost fell apart when a knife touched it. Booking advisable, it was pretty busy at 7pm on a showery Tuesday evening. Going here again!

The food was to die for, we ordered the platter for 2 and the ribs were something else. Brisket was lovely and tender and the wings tasted smoky. A really good spread and easily enough for 2.

We visited as a family of four (2 adults, a 4 year old and an 18 month old). The server was brilliant with the kids and the the restaurant provided a small activity kit with pencil crayons which the kids loved. The food was just as good as the service. The kids had a hotdog and a burger which dissappeared sharpish. We shared the Smokehouse Platter which was delicious, the brisket was especially good. We followed our mains with a couple of chocolate milkshakes. I would go back just for those.

Went with the grandchildren. Staff very helpful and engaged with the children. Coped well when it was very busy and got our order correct when we said we didn't want various bits and pieces. Great place, thank you, we’ll definitely be back. Came tonight (26/10) for my brother’s birthday, the staff are really nice and friendly, and go above and beyond. Very informative. In particular Jasmine who was fantastic and overall just brilliant it made our night thank you. The kids enjoyed the cinema, they got extra popcorn. Speaks volumes that all 3 of them ate all their food (must be good!) I had the beef rib which was really nice, I might go for the platter next time we come! Ordered the half rack of ribs and my friend had a hot dog. We both really enjoyed our food and our drinks- I had the cherry vanilla soda. The price was good too. Great atmosphere. The free popcorn was great. Our service was excellent. I actually had to cut our visit short due to an emergency and the servers were very understanding and helpful. Our food was packed away quickly to take home and we were able to pay quickly. Thank you everyone!

We are big fans of hickory's over in Chester and St Helens so were very much looking forward to one a bit nearer. Nice place and nice outside eating area too, which is hidden from the main road. Felt like they were still getting settled as only recently opened. Food was OK but took a while to get orders placed even though it was quiet. Pancake stack with bacon was good in terms of generous portion of bacon and bacon between each stack too which not all places do, but was nuked and pancakes were bit chewy so didn't seem to be fresh, bit like the packet ones you can buy and microwave. Enjoyed trying the grape soda but the draft Pepsi's were all flat. Beef rib was very nice but small portion for the price, which we've noticed about the other hickory's too over the years that the portions seem to have got smaller. Steak and eggs were nice, especially the potato tots too. Won't be a regular visit but will come back one day to see how they've settled as there just aren't many places that do good smoked meats. Probably more likely to visit Red's True BBQ in Manchester first who are very similar in selection and taste.

Was impressive. There's a little cinema there for kids to watch Disney , lots of tables , restrooms are clean and we were asked if we wanted a tour of the kitchens! Southern hospitality in deed. !! Visited Friday 16th. 3 of us had the sharing platter, other 2 had burgers. So much food, but so delicious. Cocktails amazing! Loved the popcorn as a complimentary starter. Highlight for me and my friends was the marshmallows that you toast yourself. All staff were polite and efficient given it was a packed restaurant. Will definitely be back!!

Love this place! I'd heard a lot of hype and was keen to give it a try and I'm so glad that I did, my partner and I have visited a couple of times now and it's a real favourite. The first time we visited our seats were facing the kitchen and it was great being able to see the food being prepared, the team at Hickory's work incredibly hard. The food itself was delicious on both occasions and some of the best restaurant food I've had, its also reasonably priced. I would recommend Hickory's but would also suggest that you make sure you book beforehand as it gets very busy

Booked for a birthday celebration and what an amazing day it was. I cannot thank our server Lauren enough. She went above and beyond to make our little family celebration the best. Inviting me up to do a cocktail masterclass, a massive surprise sparkly candle and cake, complete with singing and just general fabulous service. The food was amazing and loved the take away boxes as the potions are huge. Thanks again Lauren for making today so special for me and my family 🥰

He was so good with our young boys, he gave us recommendations from the menu and we was so glad we went with them! The food is awesome! A birthday treat Never been before but will be back Halloween of course is themed night So plenty of staff dressed up The Service is good and as the restaurant was busy on a Monday, I bet the staff are tired this morning The menu is well presented looks like a newspaper and so you can read and take in the experience. We ate here last night for a 5th birthday party and as soon as the staff knew it was his birthday they went above and beyond for him, he had a sign on the table, a dessert with a sparkler and got to make his own milkshake. All staff were brilliant and attentive, the male manager who’s name I didn’t catch and Abby behind the bar especially, who helped him make his own milkshake and gave him extra ice cream, it was the highlight of his day. The staff were great the minute we got through the door. We didn’t wait long for food or drinks, the food was great, all 7 of us cleared our plates! The kids cinema and lots of popcorn is also a great addition! Thank you!

Having been to Hickorys in Chester and Southport we thought we would try out the new place in Hutton. Did not disappoint in fact the food tastes slightly better! Hickory's is our favourite place to eat and so glad it's close to home (although fatal on the wallet😂)

We visited this branch last night as it was newly opened and though we would give it a try instead of the southport branch. It was very busy when we walked in but the staff went to every effort to seat us! We ordered our drinks and main meals and they arrived and they where outstanding apart from a slight issue with one of them, I told a member of staff and they asked there manager to come and see us. Ben the manager came over and went above and beyond to rectify the problem, I have never ever had an experience like that before in a restaurant where a manager has done so much to make our experience memorable! Thank you Ben and the team for a amazing meal and epic food comma! 🙌

We came today for my son's birthday. Aa soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcome. We loved the decor. Fabulous menu so much so we really wanted 1 of everything. Food was good and a great atmosphere. I read reviews about the portion size being big....it was average so if you've got a good appetite you might be disappointed. Also be careful of the tips added automatically on the receipt, they do make you aware of it but it's still wrong in my eyes. We did tip as we enjoyed it but nothing like what they added on.

Opened today. Amazing welcome, the staff couldn't be more friendly. We were given a tour of the new establishment (not comparable to the old Anchor pub) which was excellent, showing us various dining areas (inside and outside), "the firepit" area, seating at the Chefs table, bar area with sports screens, plus the kids cinema showing Disney films. We couldn't be happier with the new dining/drinking establishment for our area!

Went after being recommended by lots of different people for my sons 2nd birthday and we all had a great time! The service was 5*. Every single touch point had been considered (from the menus to the kids activity books, the free Popcorn to the cinema room!!). And the food was sooo good, best veggie burger I've ever had. My boy even got a mini firework/sparkler in his dessert and everyone sang happy birthday. Good food and menu decent but service was poor. The poor girl waiting our table was rushed off her feet while 3 other members of non uniformed, I presume more senior staff, stood watching her and it was clear we were waiting to get someone’s attention. There was also a problem with flies which was unpleasant. Finally I’m happy to leave a tip in most places but seriously object to it being automatically added to the bill.

Simply Amazing! Love Hickorys having gone to the Chester and Southport ones regularly. Was soo chuffed when I found out it was opening literally 5 mins from my doorstep. Went Monday night and the service was excellent considering they had only opened that weekend. Food was quick considering how busy it was. The manager and the young girl serving on our table were both great! Brisket Mac n Cheese was unbelievably good (first time we tried it) tried to convince the other half on the platter but failed so we both went for the Brisket and the Popcorn Burnt Ends both excellent. So happy and will be back soon 😁

We have just been to Hickory's for the first time, i took my husband for his birthday along with our daughters,we all really enjoyed our meals and were absolutely stuffed, as well as bringing the leftovers home, my husband has his own smokers at home and is very good at cooking on them, we have tried several places that claim to be proper bbq places, only to fall short, are daughters are really fussy eaters and often dont like the food, this place had us all impressed, we were served by William J, all i can say is, what a credit to your parents you are! Very impressed and we will be back.

We recently went to Hickory’s Hutton for a friends birthday, we usually go to Southport or Chester but decided to try this one and I have to say it’s the best one by far! Our server was called Nathan and he couldn’t have done anymore for us, he was so friendly and funny! Brilliant food and the layout of the place was just perfect! Spacious, authentic, warm and just a perfect place for friends to meet! Quick service, great prices and easy to get to with plenty of parking! Defo recommend!

Hickory Hutton Went with my brother and from the start you are welcomed in by freindly staff who are happy to help to get a table to accommodate how many are eating or drinking with you when you get your table you are given different samples of food they are serving and complementary water we sat at the bar with the chef's who are all incredible the head chef Michael was very good he was full of energy, enthusiasm and gave you all the information on the food made you feel very welcome with complementary samples and you could tell he loved his job with how he was preparing it and telling you about all the fresh ingredients they use I had a sample of the ice cream and WOW another level of good can't wait to try more of the menu we had the brisket and 10 out if 10 sorry for going on but yes that good and the waitress we had another 10 out of 10 just go everyone yo won't be disappointed I promise

Love this pub, visited early Sept ,(unfortunately following family funeral). First impressions very clean and tidy, great decor, landlord and landlady (husband and wife) very welcoming. Buffet food was absolutely delicious. Wine choices very good quality at reasonable prices. This is a family local, wish I could transport it to my neck of the woods!

The anchor Inn is actually my dad's favourite place to meet up with friends, so I am always dragged along too, I actually like going there now, I get a drink and we watch tv- fottball, tennis, races, even the Olympics. It has a little area outside to sit and has alot of room to sit on the inside, about two or three TVs and has a bathroom. It's a nice place to go to with family and friends, even to make friends. My parents met there for the first time and now look where that went! I hope that you check it out as it's a great place to go to!

Could be a great pub if the bar staff concentrated on customers other than the regularars. Spoke to a friend who I recommend to visit wish I never had as they decided to eat there & had the worst food ever how embarrassing to do word & mouth saying it is a good pub. It could be jumping if they work at it. But at this rate it will close down what a waste
