S.There's a conundrum with Western adapted Chinese food. You can get small portions but better taste at higher prices. You can also get the opposite.
This place is in the 2nd category. The duck was nice but quite fatty, and unfortunately wasn't shredded like usual from other restaurants. I'd suggest they rename it to duck on the bone with pancakes.
The salt and pepper chips were a massive portion, which amazed me but the taste was almost nonexistent.
Curry sauce was a little cold but nice.
The Hoisin sauce was lush.
Cucumber was a bit dry.
Satay chicken skewers was better in the morning after 3 of the 4 marinating in their sauce.
I've tried authentic Chinese food, I love it, I've obviously has a run in my half life with Western adapted Chinese food, and this one I'd go to if I've got no money and fancy a treat. However if I fancy a real treat, I'd not use Jade City again.
I feel 3 stars is fair, not inedible, just really bland.
