What I liked- Food- Paratha was good. Beef fry had average taste. Beef curry was too spicy and average taste though apparently another customer told us that they usually ask desired level of spice. We weren't asked anyway . For Indians, I would say the curries did not have that authentic flavour. Has parking space. Decent seating space. What I disliked- Waiting time is atleast 30 minutes. Would not suggest to visit when you are really hungry. Had only 2 people to attend, take orders and serve so had lot of delays. My friends wanted to have a drink while waiting for me to finish as I had joined them late but did not get it served till I finished my food. So had to cancel the order. They told they have lot of take-aways hence the delays but that is not truly acceptable.

4 stars for the place the atmosphere and for Cobra beer. It was the first time I tried Indian food, therefore I have no clue whether it was good or bad. I personally liked everything I ate and especially the papadan with all the sauces. The naam bread was very nice as well.

The food was amazing, very authentic South Indian food which is hard to come by. We dined with the intention of getting an event catered and we’re instantly impressed by the quality of food and professionalism of chef Joby. The catered event went really well and we were impressed not just by the quality of the food but also the consistency, it was just like what we got at the restaurant. Highly recommended, we will be coming back sooon!!

Had placed an order for 30 people, the food was fantastic and cost effective.. The Chef himself spoke to me and customised the complete menu and adjusted the spice level for the crowd too.. delivery was slightly delayed but otherwise overall experience was great.. would definitely recommend for party orders..

I was here on Onam and had my first ever OnamSadya from here. It was a wonderful experience both in customer service and taste/quality of the food. Apart from Sadya I would definitely recommend to try their Paratha and Kothamalli Kozhi Curry. That was one the best Parathas and Chicken curry I have had so far.

Maharani restaurant run by Head Chef Joby is a great place for an authentic South Indian experience. Chef Joby has been part of many 5 star establishments and at Maharani quality is paramount to him. Do not expect the watered, bland curries served at some restaurants. Here you get flavour packed armoatic dishes that serves justice to true South Indian cooking. My favorite dishes include fish polichathu, beef fry, chicken peralan, chilly chicken, chicken tikka, kerala parotta, biryani and Masala dosa. Everything is freshly prepared and takes 15-20 mins, acceptable for the taste and effort. For a South Indian foodie this was truly nostalgic and I have always had agreat experience. Great place👍

BEWARE OF HIDDEN / INFLATED PRICES WHICH YOU MAY MISS! Pro’s: The food quality I couldn’t fault. Everything was as I would have hoped, tasted great and was piping hot. The people service were friendly. Con’s: The biggest con was the disagreement me and my friends had with a hidden cost of egg rice. We just asked for egg rice like you would pilau, but they charged us £7.50 each! (For which they vehemently blamed us and pumped up the prices they tried to say we ordered) they claimed no person has ever asked for egg rice so they ended up charging us for special fried rice (because not everything can be on the menu, so the owner told us) but didn’t care to tell us she was about to serve us this special £7.50 rice instead of a standard £2-3 rice which you always order with your meal. So you’d end up paying the same price for rice as you would a chicken curry, bizarre. Never heard of this kind of pricing. What was astonishing is how she tried to blame us for not reading correctly and not understanding how her “unique” restaurant worked - maybe she meant by the way of hiding costs and items so you feel embarrassed so you pay for expansive rice. Which they deemed had more species and was larger - it was the same size as it was served in the same rice bowls. She never wanted to admit her fault or try explain any mix up, it was all our fault and we should pay no matter what. I won’t go here again as you can clearly tell as it was embarrassing to be told, as grown men, how we don’t have a clue how pricing is done, in their specific restaurant, and they didn’t once try solve the situation. Seeing £15 for two normal pots of rice is not how I wanted to spend my money - I am the first to think this, as she told me persistently. It was a “me” problem.

Lovely authentic Southern Indian cuisine that hails from Kerala. Chef John came and chatted with us after our meal to talk about the food and to see if we liked etc. He's lovely and clearly passionate about his food. Next visit he said he'd come and take our order and help us choose - nice touch. If you want authentic Indian food that's fresh, clean, tasty and not the usual suspects (with it being from the South) I would highly recommend Maharani. All in all well worth supporting.

The best restaurant i have been to and that’s a bold statement considering how many that is with my family, we loved the food, you can tell a lot of effort was put into it, as it was all well made. The service was so nice with a welcoming atmosphere, definitely recommend this to anyone, it’s absolutely worth it. My family truly loved both the experience and food, thank you to the lovely staff for their great customer service, i wish there was a possibility to rate more than 5 stars as this would have definitely gotten that, keep it up!!

We went to this place with high expectations but was quiet disappointed. The place was easy to find and had a parking right next to it. The ambience of the place was also good. One thing I have to mention is the selection of the songs. This may not be a major thing of concern for most of the people but it did kinda affect the atmosphere of the place. The food was ok. We ordered the non-veg noodles and was good. The kerala porotta was not the best and the same goes to the chicken curry we ordered( cant remember the name correctly ). Overall it was ok and was quiet pleased.

We chose this place and took a gamble which paid off. Food looked like it was homecooked from scratch and tastes fresh and amazing. Chicken was nicely cooked and Really tasty! Naan bread was soft which also looked like it was made from scratch. Well priced too! Inside the restaurant was clean and staff were polite and friendly whilst keeping social distancing. Had an authentic feel to the place, we will be returning.....hopefully to sit in.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Lancashire. I visited the restaurant with my wife. It was a lovely experience. We ordered the garlic naan and seafood fry. The food was absolutely delicious with the right amount of flavors. The seafood was very well cooked and I loved it very much. The onion bhaji was a highlight in the starters. We were greeted by a hospitable staff. The restaurant was neatly maintained with a hygienic atmosphere. The menu is quite vast with a range of North Indian and South Indian cuisine. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It has lived up to it's 'maharani' name. I am definitely visiting this restaurant again.

Last week we happened to visit maharani restaurant and i should say, it was amazing. We had such a great time over there. This place is filled with the fresh aroma of Indian spices. We had bhaji as starter and it was so crispy and really good. For main we had Kerala parata and lamb curry. The curry was a combination of real taste and perfect cooking. It was so delicious and all of us loved it. The place is really clean and have a good ambience inside. The staff are really friendly and helpful to suggest our kind of dish that we'd love. We went to maharani restaurant for a dinner.... a nice restaurant with lots of tasty dishes to try...too many variants to choose from. We ordered chicken wings and bhaji as starter. It was really good and went for the Lamb curry with parata for the main course and it was really tasty. I can never forget the taste of that lamb curry. The ambience and the interiors were well maintained and spacious enough for spending some good time. Clean and well set and the staff were really helpful. I recommend everyone to give a try!

We took our mum as a Birthday Treat after visiting a show in nearby . We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks and service and were completely stuffed by the time we left! It was a weekend bike ride with my partner to Preston and Maharani served us a combination of unusual flavors and ingredients for truly wonderful courses.We have ordered Kashmiri Lamb Tikka with Peshwari Naan and Coriander Butter Naan,this combo brings us truly divine experience into Indian cuisines once again. We had a incredible dinner and from start to finish we were treated extremely well. After a somewhat reserved start, the waiting staff warmed up and were very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.Presentation was outstanding with a fabulous atmosphere. I've had to visit Preston this month and I was with three of my friends and we were really craving for some south Indian dish and we got a suggestion from TripAdvisor on maharani and decided to give it a try. And we got samosas, some onion bhaji as starters and they were really crunchy and delicious.. And being a fan of biriyani I decided to try out the lamb biriyani and it turned out to be quite a good choice. It was delicious and the lamb was so tinder and evenly cooked . I really loved it.. The place has a great ambience and it was quite tidy too.. Would highly recommend to everyone

The Maharani restaurant specialise in Indian dishes mainly South Indian cuisine. Happened to visit the place along with family. We were welcomed by delightful and a traditional indian setting. Staff were helpful and the service was quick and great. Wonderful Menu with wide variety of dishes. As part of the fundraising committee for the Orthodox Church in Leyland, the Maharani Restaurant provided a lovely buffet meal for our Patronal festival at the end of June.The food was simply Amazing.Highest quality ingredients ,fresh and well presented.Our guests were treated on the day and the feedback was sublime. I was disappointed that Chinese food wasn't available as it advertised it as an Indian,Thai and Chinese food restaurant. The welcome wasn't as warm as when it was King Karai. I had to ask for ice for my J20 as it came in bottle with a glass. There was no complimentary mints on leaving. Despite this the food was very good.
