The food was average. Tandoori Prawns were so smoky that it killed the flavour. Garlic Naan bread was quite good. The garlic chicken curry was average. The service was good, but they were short-staffed, hence the food arrived late. There were frustrated takeaway delivery drivers who were waiting at the bar. Nothing special to mention about this place. It's a shame that Preston doesn't have a good Indian restaurant.

First experience of Indian food in Preston and what a wonderful place to start with. I would recommend ordering from the signature dishes section of the menu. The lamb bengal handi in particular was delicious. There’s also a wide range of starters such as pakoras, poppadoms and bhajis. Plenty of seating available and also a large car park. Definitely would recommend this place!

Very unassuming as its next door to a supermarket. Positive is parking is good. Food is great, the set meals are good value but there is a lot of it! Either take your time or take some home as we did. Staff are very polite, friendly and attentive but not overly so.

Wow wow wow what a takeaway. Everything was spot on, so tasty and cooked to perfection. Lovely venue although closed due to Covid but still doing takeaways. Very friendly nice owners and a big choice of dishes. Even made me up my own bespoke starter selection and a main for my mate that wasn't on the menu. As always, the good here was great. However we picked an evening when there was a singer performing, which want really or style. Too loud for a restaurant. However this did mean they were very busy and the team was a bit overwhelmed as we waited 1hr 40mins for main course. I know the service isn't usually like this, so will return again.

The food was superb and quite reasonably priced. The restaurant itself looks great and had a good atmosphere. My only complaint would be the service which was very slow. From walking in to walking out took just short of 2 hours.

Went for the first time with my Fiancée on a Friday night and we will 100% be going again! Everything about it was brilliant! The place itself looks fantastic, the staff are extremely welcoming (especially the Gentleman who greets all the guests), the food was delicious, arguably the best Indian I’ve had and good value for money! (Not to mention we got a free starter that they were trailing… always a bonus). We’ve been looking for a new curry house since our local one closed down, this is absolutely going to be our go to curry house in future!

Great food. Service was slightly pressed but they were quite busy, and not so much that I would knock off any stars. They might need more staff on a Saturday night though Loved the magician, he was so so good! I usually do not want that, and did an internal groan when I saw him but he was actually so good and really funny. Definitely made the wait for the food better too. I have been to lots of Restaurants in my time, some good, some bad, but what I will say is that this Restaurant ranks as one of the best, food quality is exceptional, every dish is cooked from scratch, you can taste all the flavours through the meal… excellent customer interaction and the owner has the decency and politeness to welcome you as you arrive… if you don’t believe me, go and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed..

Best Indian meal we have had EVER! I don’t usually write reviews to be honest but had to say something about the Silk Route as we were so impressed. From the starters - main courses and everything in between it was first class. We literally have nothing negative to say. We’ve had a couple of bad experiences with Indian restaurants in the area but our faith has been reinstated after our fantastic meal tonight. Service was fantastic too. If you haven’t been here before I would wholeheartedly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed. 10 out of 10!

So our first time to preston and saw silk route online reviews which seem really good which made us go here. Food is not so great its lacking flavour & needs to be cooked we were served uncooked meat with raw spices on top which they replaced upon complaining., but if you are an asian you aint gona like it TRUST ME but yet the max i could give it is a 3 star and thats me being very generous .However customer service was perfect the atmosphere and live music for the Valentine night bang on.

I took my wife there for her birthday meal, and it was a first visit for the both of us, however it certainly wont be the last. The service was very fast with friendly and helpful staff who couldn't do enough for us. The food once ordered came very fast and was piping hot and extremely tasty and neither my wife or I were disappointed. Was driving past Preston late last Tuesday and needed some food nearby before continuing on. Visited this restaurant with very little expectation and was very pleasantly surprised! Wouldn’t usually leave a review but this Indian food blew me away. Everyone I was with had an outstanding meal, arguably the beat Indian I’ve ever had. The staff were friendly and attentive. They were especially helpful in arranging food for my vegan friend who also loved it. If I’m ever in Preston again I will definitely return! Highly recommend!

Great restaurant! Amazing value for money, you get way more than you pay for! Service was fast and attentive, with the food coming within 20 mins of ordering and our plates being taken just after eating! All curries were bursting with flavour ad delicious! The restaurant itself was spotless and well maintained too. Overall an enjoyable experience and we will be returning!

We visited on Valentines Day and they had really made the effort for the evening. Food was really good and staff were excellent. Its great to see management being on the floor with the customers and supporting the staff. Only gave 4 though because although the food tastes great there were some element which could have been hotter and there was a bit of a wait between starters and mains. But we'll definitely be visiting again.

Having set up an exhibition, nine of us arrived at the Silk Route on a Friday night for a curry! The host was great and managed to make up a table even though the restaurant was busy. The food was delicious as ever and we all enjoyed it. My only question would be why do the hot cloths come out before the chunks of orange. These were lovely but a bit sticky. Good value and we all enjoyed our meal.

Food decent, atmosphere good but the bar staff were charging different prices for drinks and had to reimburse. It got to the point we asked for a drinks price list & our entire group was checking each time they charged us. Silk route you need to be careful, fair and consistent with your bar prices. If we wouldn't have had the issue with the bar I would have rated it higher. That aside we did have a good night.

Impressive décor and lovely atmosphere! We ordered a banquet between two of us and were really impressed with what good value for money it was! We got a range of starters, popadoms, dips, three curries and rice. Although only making our way half way through it, it was no problem at all when we asked the waiter to box it up to take home! The restaurant was very clean, even the toilets were spotless which is nice considering most places seem to disregard them after they've been cleaned in the morning! Altogether a pleasant experience and we will be returning!

Summary: great food, service could be better Detail: Food was lovely. Absolutely no concerns regarding food. Service: booked online on the day and was told that bookings online (on the day) could not be honoured but they would accommodate us. Online system shouldn’t allow bookings on the day if that’s the case. We were asked to order drinks without a drinks menu. The restaurant was quiet so the ample service staff patrolled around like dementors without much to do. I’d rather have my meal without feeling like I have an exam invigilator gliding between the tables. No members of staff smile. Staff should take care not to lean over customers when serving, they should walk around the table. The bathrooms were lovely but ice cold. The bill was out by a few pounds. Also when ordering, the menu (held together with sellotape), stated Kingfisher was 4 pounds a pint but instead brought 6 pound bottles. Enjoyed the hot towels and oranges at the end. Oranges could be colder. Plates were ice cold. Warm plates provided on request. One of our 3 chairs was uncomfortable. In summary the food is great and with so Mmmm me discipline in improving the service could be fantastic.

What a gem! OK so I'm from Nederlands and I'm not as familiar with UK restaurants as you, but I have to say the food was delicious. I asked for it to be a bit softer on my palate and they were really good about it. I will be telling all my colleagues to put on their 'best to get places to dine' list! I don't know when Indian food became sooooo expensive. But whilst this place is expensive, no more so than most other local competition like Sylet Bangla or Bangla Fusion. The food is as nice as either of those but the setting isn't the most salubrious. Still a lovely place for a meal though.

Average. With the quality of Indian take away options its the little things that count. If it was going to be an hour tell me that, I don't mind when collecting. Don't say 35 mins and have me hanging around for 20 mins. They also forgot to bag the starter which we found out when home 15mins later. Yeah they knew and we could come collect it but that's a 30 min round trip so given a discount instead on next order. The food was fine but not outstanding so it goes in my average bracket as a takeaway Indian. I have not used the restaurant so my rating is for the takeaway service.

Easy to get to from M8. We got there on our way to London on M8 looking for some good Indian food. The place is about 10 mins away from M8 and food is also really good!

I am a regular customer at silk route and the customer service is excellent, the food very good, and the prices are great. In my opinion silk route is the best indian restaurant in preston with eastzeast on church street a close 2nd but in terms of quailty food for the price you pay no indian restaurant comes close the food is always excellent. only negative i have on silk route is wen the owner isnt there the customer service seems to slack drasticly not only that i attended restaurant last week after finishing my meal a young waiter came over and gave us a handtowel to clean hands and 2 tiny after eight type chocolates he then walked off 2 minuites later he came back and changed my bill adding £3.50 to it under coffee and chocolates i was always under the impression the choclates were complimentary and i didnt ask for them and can assure you i wouldnt pay £3.50 for 2 small chocolates this needs addressing but apart from that one occasion always excellent :)
