The Ginger Bistro is honestly one of the nicest hidden gems I've been to! My friends and I visited for my early birthday, and we were greeted by John and James who were both so friendly, welcoming and funny. We felt extremely well looked after, and the food was amazing! You could tell everything was very freshly made. My night was made up when they brought out a complimentary brownie with a candle for my birthday, which was the sweetest surprise! We are already looking to rebook soon. Thank you for a lovely experience!

First visit, won’t be the last. Nice atmosphere, excellent food, great service at a sensible price. All round superb. We started with the Moroccan fish cake, main course I had the fish of the day in an excellent orange sauce, my wife had the meatballs. All highly recommended.

Visited in Aug 2021. Big breakfast was huge! Two eggs, two sausages, two hash browns, two pieces of bacon, black pudding, baked beans and toasts. Taste was good but be prepared to share. I did. ：)

Great food, friendly staff. We arrived for an early lunch and pre booked. No wait at all as not to busy. Take note of parking arrangements! Downside(sorry), the front door needs the closing damper sorting out! All I could hear was the front door constantly banging. I'm sure it's an easy fix guys. Would have been 5 stars otherwise. Would return again as the menu looked interesting. We both had hoi sin duck and it was tasty 👌

Excellente Excellente Le Bistro de Ginger-guys it’s a bit boring giving you another glowing reference-but the chicken nuggets and chips were grand again tonight😂😂and of course your welcome for Sunday breakfast anytime 😉 On a serious note anybody reading this-just book. This has become my favourite place to eat! Tonight was no exception-wide choice of lovely food-(chicken nuggets aren’t on the menu)-cooked to perfection-really fantastic staff who are always friendly and attentive-great atmosphere. Unfortunately they were full, but the Manager James said he would text me, if a table left early, they did & he did! We were at our table for 730pm, service was excellent and the food was delicious. The ginger bistro is a very British restaurant. It serves high quality British cuisine and the restaurant itself has a relaxed atmosphere to it with good background music. The staff are very friendly. The food itself is well presented but tastes okay. The food is also a little pricey. Overall a nice play to go to for lunch or breakfast but not very often.

A very varied menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are always “specials” on the blackboard too. All the food is of an excellent quality and cooked fresh to order. My husband loves “the Big Ginger Breakfast” and we have enjoyed excellent evening dinners here too. Seating is available inside and outdoors as well. I had a delicious lunch sitting out in the sunshine today....a very generously sized tuna melt panini and a lovely refreshing glass of elderflower cordial.

Enjoyed your meal, the food was excellent. I did feel the restaurant was a little crowded and would have felt safer if the tables were more spread out/they took a couple of tables out. Only 1 unisex toilet which led to quite a queue in a tight area, each again at thr moment didn't feel particularly safe. Would like to visit again when less busy.

Nice friendly atmosphere definitely achieved the bistro effect with decor simply and clean . Food very good tasty presented well with generous portion sizes , my friend and I had the tagine which was really tasty melt in the mouth lamb perfused with spices , would highly recommend. Our friends tried the curry, chicken and beef bourgouignon although the beef was a little on the tough side she enjoyed the taste again very generous portions . Overall a lovely night with good service nothing too much trouble would highly recommend would give a score of 9 out of 10 .

Absolutely Brilliant. Walked in withy 2 year old son and were immediately made to feel right at home. The staff were excellent, tentative and friendly from the off. Never waited too long for a drink or our food. The food was brilliant & the Coffee was great. The kids burger was genuinely really tasty and the fries ate excellent quality. My Fried cammembert was perfect too with Cranberry sauce sided by an orange, pomegranate and peashoot salad! Would absolutely recommend especially if waiting for someone at an appointment at the Hospital. Did get very busy though so may need to book some times.

Just updating this review. Went again for my birthday in Jan 2022. Still 5 stars. Mid week evening meal. The food was excellent. Every meal was superb. I think the chefs special skill was the sauces which were delicious, fresh, perfectly balanced and enhanced each dish without smothering or spoiling. The front of house guy was ace too (as was the other lad providing table service.) He was professional and informed but fun and help make what's usually an anti climax of a January birthday, into a really good night. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

My niece had her 18th Birthday meal here just before Xmas '21 so as you can imagine a tad challenging for the staff. The staff were fantastic with them and accommodated their cocktail and dietary nuances. The young un's had a mixture of burgers and veggie options which they thoroughly enjoyed. I had a Morrocan Tagine and to my amazement it was as genuine a dish I have had outside of Morocco. The decor is lovely, lighting level is perfect if you're on a first date, and the atmosphere is between quite pub and lively restaurant which was perfect for the occasion. However I do think our group lifted the decibels after the cocktails kicked in. All in all a great bistro. FYI parking can accommodate c. 10 cars as a Conservative estimate.

this is my third visit to this lovely little bistro cafe I really find the menu quite extensive being a pescatarian sometimes it's hard to find something that really interests me. Today on my third visit I had the salmon red Thai curry with rice and mango chutney and it was absolutely fantastic. The desserts were lovely too. Great waiting on staff under current climate. Takeaway only at present of course, but what a takeaway- quality. The guys in the kitchen really know what they are doing. The Moroccan Veg Tagine is superb, but to be honest everything we have had from there has been first class. We knew it was good as we have dined there on several occasions- the takeaways maintain that high standard. Recommended.

We, was told it was expensive for what you got. Absolute rubbish, the portions where big, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. Really enjoyed the food here. The service was very haphazard which surprised us after reading previous reviews. Although the ambiance was very relaxed I thought the tables near the door were in a chilly spot and our table did get a chill whenever anyone left or entered so I think that needs addressing. That being said we had a very enjoyable time, great menu and friendly staff who did apologise for the random service. We will definitely visit again but I would be asking for a table well away from the entrance.

We went for breakfast, the bacon was over cooked whilst the eggs were undercooked. The service seemed quite slow too, 40 mins for our breakfast to arrive, then the ordered drinks came after the food was finished. I have previously enjoyed eating here but was let down this time. Visited for the first time today for lunch and was very pleased to find a very clean and stylish restaurant, a frendly waiter greeted us and showed us to a table. The menu had a good range of dishes at very affordable prices, they have a Two course @£ 10 & a three course @£13 .although they could envest in some menu covers better than the menu on A4 sheet of paper ! I had wild mushroom tagliatelle finished with cream which was extremely well cooked with good Favors.i think that the portion could have been a little larger but perhaps I'm to critical. A very good restaurant which I want to return to.
