Amazing service
Amazing food
Beautiful surroundings
Cannot speak highly enough of this place as its fantastic.
Co owner and hostess was very friendly
Good tasting wine and soft drinks and ale available
Lovely wines and countryside
It is a definite one to visit.
The home sourced ingredients are fresh as they come and you must try the homemade pies.. absolutely delicious... just wowsers.
I will be returning asap as I miss the food already and I've only just been to try it myself this weekend in august 2022!
Strongly recommended it truly is very special.
Good selection of freshly cooked food and the specials board can be a thing if ravishing tasty options.
THE GREEN MAN IS A BIG WINNER FOR ME
R. S.
This is a really nice pub in the beautiful Trough of Bowland. The staff were excellent on my visit and I really enjoyed the Steak and Ale pie. This place is well worth a visit if you're in the area. I'd come again.

We went to the Green Man Pub at Inglewhite Preston last Thursday for a meal. We both had a Battered Goats Cheese Starter. I had a Steak Pie and my boyfriend had a Chicken Burger. Very good value as was half price with a food special offer on Thursday and Friday which I think they are still offering if you book before Wednesday night. Well worth a phone call to check.

You will leave The Green Man a very happy chappy after eating their gorgeous home cooked delights. The steak and ale pie was succulent as was the haggis. The service was a little slow but overall I enjoyed my lunch. Hats off to the chef!

Absolutely lovely place.
Stopped off for something to eat with the other half. Don't even know where to start.
I can safely say it's the cleanest place we've stopped for food in recent months .. not a cobweb or spec of dust in sight.
Greeted with a warm friendly welcome by one of the owners Kim I think it was. Lovely lady very personable and definitely the hostess with the mostest.
Starters: we had the goats cheese and the pate .. the goats cheese was lovely and light and fluffy. Pate was delicious not to strong and a good bread to pate ratio.
Mains: We sampled the pies from the specials menu I had chicken, ham hock and shallot pie and the fella had haggis and beef .. both were very tasty, the pastry just melted in the mouth. I don't even like haggis but I loved the pie.
We also tried the beef Sunday roast and the BBQ pork which came with coleslaw, chips and salad. The beef was lovely and tender, really well cooked. Loved the little bowl of side veg that was brought out with it .. the parsnips and cauliflower tasted devine.
Bbq pork cooked well again knife slid through the pork. The coleslaw was really nice and the home made chips were tasty.
Beautiful place, amazing staff, tasty food. Amazing afternoon, looking forward to going back and sampling the Autumn menu
Thanks for a lovely afternoon kim
L. M.
Only one vegetarian option on Sunday which was a small cheese and onion pie with fries, coleslaw and some salad.
Chicken breast for roast was tough. Would have preferred chicken leg.
There was no menu so had to go by staff descriptions.
Couple of roast potatoes which tasted nice but also tasted deep fried like chips.
Pork, beef that others had was better than chicken by far.
Cauliflower didn't have much cheese sauce.
Veg was a bit cold.
The execution of the cooking seemed off and I'm not sure the barbecue theme works for us ... for a Sunday roast. Others may like it.
Staff were friendly and facilities good.
Dog friendly.
Sorry to be a negative.

Our first visit and it was lovely! Amazing food, friendly staff and beautiful views. Lovely welcoming atmosphere, I have never felt so comfortable in a pub. Even Olive the pub cat was super friendly! Thank you to all for making our visit so enjoyable. We will be back again, and again, and again…

I never really write reviews but think this place deserves one. Been coming here for the once or twice a year for the last 3-4 years. And can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience. Last night me and my partner had a meal she had the homemade cheese pie which was just amazing as always and I had a steak the 20oz rump, I’m always a-bit apprehensive about ordering a steak but I thought I would give it a go. Wow I wasn’t disappointed cooked to perfection the best iv had in a long time. The staff can’t do enough for you there a great set of lads and the owner is a really nice bloke as-well made time to have a chat at the bar. Overall a reet good night thanks guys.

Service was amazing, a really lovely set of staff. Reasonably priced too. Food was lovely however my vegan pie wasn't the best, my non vegan friend said hers was delicious though. And the chips and veg were lovely.
M. E.
We had a Sunday dinner and the food was absolutely excellent. Staff were welcoming and polite. Very dog friendly lots of dogs there and amazing vegan choices. The food was fantastic we will definitely be back 👌🏽
Thank you!

Love the green man.
The owners. the main chef to the head of staff to the staff... all amazing beautiful people. Food is the best always a different pint to choose from! Homely worldy atmosphere. Thanks for a huge welcome

Proper pub, food was all great. Had a lovely pint there too. Children and dogs welcomed as well by the friendly staff.
Will definitely be going back next time we are in the area.

We were staying close to the village and booked the GM for a birthday celebration. We had a great meal, good cross between classic country Inn and gastro pub. The staff were excellent, very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
J. H.
Been for food today and it was brilliant would definitely recommend this place. Lovely staff and great food with a great price. (We got the chicken and beef burgers 👌)

Stopped off for a couple of drinks towards the end of a bike ride. Lovely table area outside, great tasting Bowland Brewery ale and really friendly service. Thanks.

The Green man is a great pub for locals, travellers and the camping community.
The pub is clean, friendly, serves a wide selection of drinks and food also Catering for Vegetarians and vegans.
The site has outdoor seating at the front and back of the property and a car park. Great for a summer day.
Camping is allowed at the site as well caravans. The camping area to the rear of the pub is a green area. The pub has facilities that can be used but out of hours the site currently has no facilities such as toilets.
The food was great, home made and tasty. Slightly on the pricey side for some people but its worth it on the whole.
I had a vegan friendly vegetable home made pie which I recommend. The chips are also amazing.
My partner had fish, chips and peas which looked good and she said it was delicious.
My daughter had a small pizza which my partner said was also very nice. (see photos)
The Food is fresh home.made so expect a wait but, its worth it.
If your passing buy in the area I dont think you would be dissapointed with your stop.
Try the PIE!

Quite recently refurbished, I think, I certainly don’t remember looking at the way it does now on previous occasions I have visited. Friendly staff, warm atmosphere and their food offering not to shabby.
C. F.
What a treat this turned out to be. Popped in by chance on the way to the Forest of Bowland. Food was absolutely delicious (oh my, that Cheese pie☺️), staff both very professional and very friendly and the pub itself a delightful place to be.
M. P.
We went to the Green Man as a party of 6 for a mother's day meal. We were immediately made to feel at home by the staff who were very welcoming. We were shown to a table and our drinks order was taken straight away. We all ordered different meals and they all came out together and you could tell it was all freshly cooked. The roast dinners were amazing. The portions were huge. We have very fussy children and they loved it and can't wait to visit again. Huge thanks to the waitress who was very attentive and interactive with our children. The views are amazing from the beer garden at the back. We Are planning on returning for a weekend camping.
S. P.
Amazing place, gorgeous food and service was spot on. Forgot to take pictures of main meal but can say the cheese & onion pie was out of this world. Thank you!!
A. W.
Exceptional food, friendly staff, dog friendly. Superb. Will definitely be back.
E. T.
Lovely pub, sat outside with our dog with beautiful views. Really good bowl of pub chips too 👍🏻
C. F.
I have been to this restaurant a number of times and have always had a phenomenal experience. The staff and owner especially are welcoming, down to earth, and extremely knowledgeable of the local area. They provide food and beverages of the highest standard and handle any small issues and requests professionally and courteously. I would, and do, recommend this place to all my clients who are in the North West of England. A+
D. S.
Lovely fresh food in a peaceful setting. Great tasting generous portions with some great deserts if you can fit them in. The beer garden has a great open outlook with a field to keep the kids occupied. All in all a fantastic place to spend a summer afternoon.
p. i.
Loved every part of the Greenman. Used to spend many sundays here in my youth. The pub has changed hands many times but I can say the owners now are amazing. Kim the landlady was funny, professional and sincere and made a point of interacting with everyone of our party. Can not praise the Green Man higher and can not wait to return. Food is top class and well priced. Looking forward to seeing the outside bar in summer. X

We came here for a meal on Sunday as we were staying in a holiday home about 1/2 mile away.
I cannot recommend this pub highly enough, the service was absolutely amazing! Our little boy has several allergies and they were more than amazing in dealing with this, I’ve never been anywhere that is so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them.
The food was absolutely beautiful and very reasonably priced.
We had a few fussy eaters with us that weren’t overly keen on the ‘Sunday menu’ and they were just so accommodating at creating something for them to eat.
Honestly can’t recommend or thank them enough.
If I’m ever in this area again I will most certainly go here for a meal!
Thank you so very much 🌟
V. H.
Great pub with excellent food and friendly staff, I booked in a party of 11 fairly last minute on a Thursday afternoon and both the service and food quality was spot on.
Next time I’m in the area will be popping in, might have to check out their camping as an excuse.
V. H.
Good menu excellent food and fantastic service. The staff made all eleven of us feel we were special.
C. T.
Always have an amazing time when I come. Roast dinners are always delicious! And the staff are always incredibly friendly.
W. H.
Love this pub, great drinks in a great location. Very nice staff. We had the sunday lunch which was mostly fantastic, great veg etc. I had the vegan option which was a little disappointing, not sure if it was was homemade but either way it unfortunately reminded me of a quorn veggie burger.
I'll definitely be back but next time I'll have the cheese and onion pie as I already know that's great!
S. B.
Really nice pub we found on our walk. Keen to try the camp site next time we are up this way.
P. S.
Simply amazing pub in the heart of the Trough of Bowland featuring excellent food, beers, atmosphere, and service! Some of the best Sunday Roasts are found at The Green Man, along with their fabulous pies, all of which are completely homemade. Highly recommended!
M. W.
Lovely country pub and restaurant. Simple menu with delicious food, a warm welcome and fabulous service throughout. Couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely be back!
s. m.
First visit and we were very pleased , would have liked my Yorkshire pudding more done, the Sunday roast was very nice ,my hubby said his pie was excellent.
j. p.
Excellent pub tucked away in the wilderness. Handmade pie with braised steak and thick gravy was delicious and my veggie gf said their vegan burger was the best she's ever had. Staff were lovely and served us a full meal each 15 mins before kitchen closing time, very accommodating. Highly recommend!
J. W.
We highly recommend The Green Man, service with a smile, nothing was to much trouble, food piping hot, serviced on beautiful rustic crockery, a delicous Sunday roast was enjoy by us all. Look out for the weekly Specials and 10 /10 for the yummy desserts. Thank you Kim for making our experience a memorable one..we will look forward to dining again very soon xx
D. J.
Small portion for a Roast, felt like we were sat in someone's living room and really uncomfortable space between tables etc. Not sure what the other half of the place is like but I don't think we'll be back unfortunately
p. j.
Good staff , nice pub and good food well worth a visit
P. W.
Absolutely superb, service was outstanding, the food was absolutely outstanding, everyone should go here you WILL NOT be disappointed it's brilliant

Had a wonderful meal (sunday lunch) at the Green Man the food was exceptional and very well presented. Great choice of drinks from the bar and the staff were all very friendly. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place and will definitely be coming back again

Amazing food, proper homemade food, we had the cheese & Onion & Steak & Ale pie. Good portion sizes, unbelievable gravy!
Perfect knowledge hosts, with lots of future plans in development.
Set back a bit of the road through inglewaite so turn left or right at the monument depending which direction you are coming from.

We love going to The Green Man at Inglewhite - it's our go-to pub whenever we visit the area. It's a cosy, family pub with amazing food. They cater for vegans, and I highly recommend the vegan burger. Staff are friendly and polite, couldn't recommend enough!

I have just eaten here .. 06.2.22 .. we had the special chicken pie and the special haggis pie .. because it’s Sunday it comes with roast and veg … I have to say it’s the best pie I have eaten in a long while … the veg was fantastic and the roast potatoes were fab - everything is homemade by the people who run it … I will definitely be coming back … fab fab fab ..

Amazing food, lovely atmosphere, fantastic service from Faith our waitress! Highly recommended! Get down there for proper homemade pub grub!

Booked a table for 4 Adults plus 1 dog on the 3rd October 2020 @ 13:00hrs. As always the staff went above and beyond to make us all feel welcome, they even gave the pooch a treat or two. We would highly recommend this place to anyone passing to or from Beacon Fell.... Food was cooked to perfection and is well worth the 5***** rating.... Rex the pooch says thanks for the chicken and the treats.... 😋 Will defo be calling in for another meal soon.... 😎
M. C.
Absolutely the best pub and eatery in these parts. Service with a smile from Faith and Chanttelle who were just fabulous. Applause also for the chef and whoever dreamed up Eaton mess cheesecake - the best. If you want good food - social distancing and a friendly place where your dog is welcome too then this is the place to be. Thank you
L. M.
So welcoming and the food was perfect !! The staff are so so so nice and the service is quick and the food is fresh and really really top quality !! Really would recommend:) dogs felt really comfortable too:) thanks so much definitely will be returning
A.
Homely atmosphere- Delicious food- nice staff, very friendly! Relaxing music as well…😉
G. H.
This was a wonderful experience with the owners listening to our our needs and responding. They served a massive stake but we asked them to cut it in half which they did and decided to put smaller stake options on the menu. All local produce and very friendly. A wonderful location that is close to many walking paths and beacon cell, and there is even an ample campsite at the back of the restaurant. Good parking and many local drinks available. Comfortable dining and prices are fair.
m. c.
Not been here for years great food lovely place
D. G.
Awesome sausage and mash, very cozy atmosphere, and great service. The staff were very friendly.
L. B.
Fantastic weekend away in caravan mikey couldn't do enough for us defo be back
l. f.
Fantastic food well worth a stop for a bite to eat
E. k.
Fantastic place to eat and drink dog also welcome! Brilliant service by friendly staff! Nice beer garden
S. W.
Great country pub! The pies were OK - not quite the miracle they were purported to be but still very nice. Very dog friendly, and some good beers.
Being able to camp out the back is a great bonus. The shower is amazing - will be even better when its done!
Tents or caravans welcome. Which is hard to find a decent tent camp site in the area apparently - so this place is a rarity!
T. G.
What a great pub! Dogs and children are welcomed, brilliant food and at reasonable prices. Very friendly atmosphere created by both the staff and locals. Ordered a meat and potatoe pie & chicken and mushroom pie which were both advertised as homemade and you can really tell they are of good quality not had a pie that good in years!! Highly recommend
S.
Great spot for road accidents so be careful at the junction which is close by I've picked 2 bumps up here in as many weeks. Great little pub, friendly.
D. W.
Great beer, pies and staff.
Really nice pub. Me and my fiance went for a walk then found this place on trip advisor. The staff were amazing and even made us a starter that wasn't on the menu.
I'm a huge fan of pies and this place does some of the best I have tried. We both loved it and will be going back whenever we are in the area.
L. P.
What a lovely meal we had today. The spicy lamb pie with crispy chips and mushy peas was so wonderful but the gravy was perfect. Excellent service and they are so COVID ready!! You MUST go!
G. A.
Great pub after a great walk on beacon fell. Food was good, especially the black pudding stack. Had homemade chicken pie, a bit to peppery. Food nice and hot. Would of liked more choices of cask ales but well worth a visit.
z. g.
Really yummy home cooked food.. defo recomend.. will be going again soon
I. S.
Established in 1806 the history resonates alone with the name synonymous with nature. The current developments are to be congratulated to the owners and their excellent team thank you! Ewan and Faith looked after us impeccably...#CookYou we were thrilled at sunset with views over Fairsnape, Parlick and Beacon Fell.... stunning x Enjoy!
J. M.
We called in for food (as a family of four + our dog) about 2pm (on a Sunday) on our way back from sledging at Beacon Fell to sadly be told they had stopped serving food - the menus were all still on the table (as it was advertised that they served food all day on a Sunday) so we had all decided what we wanted before going to the bar. It was probably a good thing that they’d stopped serving food as a table next to us (a table of 4) had been waiting for their food for an hour and a half and they’d booked a table in advance. Clearly there was some issue. Although disappointed we stayed for a drink. The bar staff were friendly and the pub itself was lovely and clean. Hopefully next time we visit all is well and the food is back on as we’d only ever heard good reports on it. Plus it’s dog friendly too.
H. s.
I can't praise the Green Man enough. We went in mid week after a quick search for a dog friendly pub. Never mind superb food and beer, this place is the most dog friendly I've ever found, but, unlike some, not at the expense of other customers. Our dog is large (a 38kg Malamute) but there's plenty of space for her and for her to be away from non dog lovers. She was made as welcome as we were. But the main attraction is the food and beer. We had the plate pies as we were in a hurry and they were very, very good, although the landlord apologised for the fact that they're not made to order....... The service is fantastic and makes this place a complete gem.
j. “. H.
Went in for a big steak, waiter carried it over to table on his shoulder!!!! And it was cooked to perfection👌🏻best steak you'll get locally with proper chips and onion rings, absolute perfection, going back next week!! Mate got fish and chips and I had tell him off for licking his plate!! You've tried the rest now go for the best!
M. S.
Been twice now once for a drink and the second for a Sunday roast it was the best I have had in a long time the staff was friendly we will with out about be going again. Kim and Ewen have got it just right
M. R.
Fantastic place with great food and a warm welcome. Found the Green Man while looking online for somewhere to eat in Preston and the surrounding area. As one of our party was vegan we checked the menu for options and found there were some good choice. The owner we spoke to was friendly and his casual look is an indication of the atmosphere of the pub. Even though it is a little out the way it is well worth the travel which was shown by how there were no empty tables when we left.
J. W.
Bright and spacious inside. Lovely outdoor area and friendly staff
G. L.
My partner and I went here on Sunday, we have been previous for drinks and really liked the decor and location so decided to give the food a try. We weren't disappoint one bit! 😍 local produce used in all of their freshly homemade meals to a high standard. I highly recommend the pies 🥧🥧 you have to be prepared to wait 30min (due to being made to order) but definately worth the wait....unlike our diet cokes (You know who we are The Green Man 😜) lovely pub and a friendly staff 👌 dog friendly pub for people walking their pooches.
L. M.
Very nice food they do say it will take longer than most places to get your food, but it is totally worth it. I had the stake pie and it was eveything and more to what I expected from the perfectly seasoned veg to the freshly handmade pie, pastry and filling. The staff are super nice and friendly. Overall an easy 5 stars 10/10 would go again.
S. J.
Lovely place, very welcoming staff and the steak night was a bargain (not to mention delicious)!! We'll be coming back soon!
R. S.
Deservedly highly praised venue for it's freshly made, top quality food and warm hospitality. A fair variety of dishes on offer - I can personally recommend the steak pies which were the best I've ever had in any restaurant. Reasonable prices and very attentive service complete the enjoyable experience, however this is not a "fast food" place and you will have to wait for your meal to be freshly prepared..... but it will be worth the wait!
I. K.
Found this lovely country pub on the way back home from Lancaster, with good beer and tasty meals. The speciality pies they serve are a must and more than worth the wait. Very hospitable staff, I presume the landlord and landlady, spoke to us like we were regulars. Definitely going back there when next in the area.
C. C.
We came here after going for a walk. We tried the pies, and we were not disappointed. I had a chicken pie that was packed full of fresh chicken. The staff advise a wait of around 30-35 minutes as the pies are freshly made by the order. You can totally tell by how fresh the ingredients are. Would highly recommend!
C. W.
Friendly pub which we chose for my birthday lunch, and were so glad we did. Fabulous cheese and onion pie with great chips, and a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord. What more could a birthday girl want? We’ll be back to try the rest of the menu and the fabulous garden.
N. D.
Absolutely wonderful food! Their pies really are worth the hype! Made fresh and delicious: I had the chicken and mushroom pie. The staff are very accommodating and the place still feels quaint and cosy, depsite being a fairly large place!
E. S.
Perfect for what we needed! We almost didn't visit the pub after a few people said the food had gone down hill, I'm so glad we didn't listen! Lovely, friendly pub which was perfect for us and our dogs to sit in the back garden and enjoy the homemade food on offer... The chips are to die for!! Definitely recommend!
N. F.
We really liked this pub. Lovely, friendly staff and good food. Well decorated and plenty of room in the garden. Our food took a while but it was Back Holiday Monday so think that's to be expected anywhere...
T. H.
Great food, pleasant rear garden area, lovely friendly staff and very accommodating. Enjoyed a really pleasant and peaceful afternoon. The chicken and ham pie (all pies available in 3 sizes, great for my dad) is well recommended.
I.
We have been to the Green Man at Inglewhite tonight - very last minute, but well worth it.
It was a quiet time when we went in, it has a lovely cosy "olde worlde" welcoming feel to it. However what made our evening were two things: the staff and the food. I had spoken to Sara(h?)on the phone, prior to our visit to say we would be last minute for food, the response could not have been better, both Sara (H) and the chef were very understanding and pleasant. When we arrived it was just the same, Both Sara (h?)! and the chef were genuinely so polite, helpful and considerate - many other hostelries in the Preston area, could could do to take notice..... and whoever is in charge at the Green Man needs to treasure those two members of staff.
As for the food - absolutely lovely, well cooked, tasty and a cut or two above the average "homemade pub grub" - especially the pies! my husband says. Although we were only there just over an hour, we came away feeling rested, relaxed and well fed. Well done the Green Man.
See you again. 8/5
A. J.
Landlord was very friendly and took time to explain the menu at the table. The plate pie we all had could have done with having a little more filling but the veg was nice and the chips were excellent as were the desserts
D. “. D. B.
What an amazing place. Just on the edge of the village this fabulous venue is warm and inviting. The staff are equally warm and inviting and the whole place is set in incredible countryside surroundings. To the rear it has fabulous panoramic uninterrupted views that look out towards the north west coast and right across to Wales.
It's an idyllic setting for a great Summer wedding or celebration if you are looking for somewhere that's just a little bit special.
This is definitely a place that you can switch off from the rest of the world and relax, while still retaining all the nessersay facilities and connectivity that the modern world demands when needed.
I'm looking forward to my next visit here already.
J. O.
Great food Friendly staff A real treat!
B. S.
Superb country pub in the Trough of Bowland. Even though the gas cooking was cut off (gas board repairs) the staff provided us with hot soup and sandwiches that were excellent, just what we needed on our 9 mile walk around the area.
With a local ale to wash it all down with we were more than happy with the establishment and will certainly make a return visit soon!
Recommended!
A. M.
Excellent food - our party had steak and ale pies and steaks, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Highly recommended!

Always the best food and staff

Went for a late Sunday lunch. The roast potatoes had obviously been pre cooked and were impossible to cut the roast outer and the insides were so overcooked it was disintegrated mash. The onion in my chess and onion pie was almost raw and unpleasant. The greens were undercooked and bitter. The steak my friend and her granddaughter had was good. Napkins were too small. Attention to detail seems missing. It's a good pub. That's where it ends really. Wouldn't recommend it. We've had so much better elsewhere. Sorry.
C. D.
Great pub. Nice rural location does good food and drink worth a visit.
F. M.
Lovely EST Rabbis Burns meal every tasted ! I have good few as well !

Just called in this afternoon and had a lovely meal. Plenty of choice on the menu and our meals were excellent. Very nice pub with friendly staff in beautiful surroundings. Will definitely be going again soon.

Called in today for a drink and a bite to eat. My wife & I chose home made pies and I have to say, the chicken and mushroom pie is the best I've eaten 👍. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returned very soon.

Fantastic little pub that makes some amazing home made food. Went for Father's Day and was treated like a king. The barman who served us was very helpful and friendly. It was a lovely clean place with a great atmosphere, I will definitely be back here again
J. B.
Only called in for a drink, staff were lovely 😍
J. M.
A really nice pub. With genuine staff, good beers, and really nice food. You could tell they took pride in it, and it showed. The mushy peas were also amazing. I don't normally like mushy peas. But these were fantastic!
A. L.
Grand pub, very good ale.
Very friendly staff.
Didn't eat, but the smell was very good.

Awesome place. Super friendly, extremely welcoming of our large group at short noticed (28 of us!). Food was spot on and fairly priced. Can't wait to head back once the campsite opens. We'll most definitely be back
