Reviews of COSMO World Buffet Restaurant | Reading
D. A.
Great place for family celebrations. We celebrated my mums birthday here✨ the staff were very accommodating where they helped us choose a quite table and they prepared the birthday candles 🎂 that was soo kind from them!
The food was delicious and they had a halal options which was great 👍🏼 the verity was amazing where there was something for each member of our family to enjoy 🤍 there was eastern food, Asian dishes and many more.
The desserts 🍨 area was very nice and they were delicious.
The interior is also beautiful and the lighting and decor gives a nice calming vibe and the seats are very comfortable. Service is also very fast 💨.
Overall it’s an amazing place here in Reading and I recommend making a reservation a head so you won’t have to wait!
J. W.
Friendly welcome from staff and an efficient service throughout. Lots of choice, although some dishes much better than others. Satay chicken and the curries were decent, with plenty of dessert choices. Would visit here again.
P. E.
A Bit of a queue to get in, so I would advise to book in advance. But the food variety was great and I really liked some of them. The cocktails were great too. Definitely recommend the shrimp!
F. L.
It’s really great to have a proper buffet in the crisis of corona restrictions.. their system is really good and very clean and well sanitized. Had a wide variety in the starter side. Shredded duck was incredible. Sushi selections were also good. Almost all the chicken items were really juicy which liked. The teriyaki counter had less options but they were tasty and very quick serve. Loved the red velvet cheese slice. Love to see some more main course items. Great service and very friend stuffs.

A great buffet and on the most part, fantastic food, reasonable pricing, and very professional service and staff.
I highly recommend the Chinese food including the prawns, salt and pepper chicken, and amazing fried rice. The Chinese is what I had most of because it was certainly the best, but there were some other foods like the samosa and deep fried items. However I wasn't overly impressed with the cuisines such as Mexican and the Indian, and the pizza wasn't great either. I think that for a place like this, the focus was lost in some of the other cuisines and they specialise mostly in their Chinese food.
Finally, the Pina Colada was decent and the desserts were good, maybe slightly on the sweeter side but some excellent cheesecake all the same.
On the whole I would definitely recommend it for groups and those who like Chinese cuisine.

We like to dine here at least once a month. We love the diversity in food and we enjoy not worrying whatever we place in our plates. Food is great and it's nice to be able to try all things and pick your favorite. Deserts are also great, always leaving with a full stomach.
C. A.
I gather this place has been around for a while, but we just discovered it. They have a nice variety of cuisines to choose from. None of the dishes I tried were particularly outstanding, but they were all tasty and filling. It's definitely worth the trip, and our family will add it to our rotation.
S. M.
All kinds of different foods, Chinese, Indian, English.... amazing selection! The puddings are delicious, they've got a chocolate fountain, ice cream machine, all different kinds of sweets and treats to try. Refillable drinks as well so saves you having to keep going up to the bar....friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be returning 🙂
M. E.
First ever experience here and I highly recommend it. All the staff are really friendly and quick. Food was delicious and such a variety to choose from. I'd recommend booking in advance as it gets really busy here so no likely walk ins.
K. N.
Best place for a family meal that won’t break the bank - food is good quality and the choice is amazing
A. J.
Fantastic food and experience.
Enjoyed the teppenyaki selection of prawns steak and shrimp. You can pick what sauce u want ( I liked the garlic butter)
Wide range of food, including vegan and Indian. Lovely range of Desserts too. Good to see them cleaning alot and staff wore masks.
Definitely recommend it
D. A.
Organised and clean, food was great too..
Seat arrangements could be better to give room to people walking down to get their food...
G.
Great place, amazing selection of food if you don't have allergy. Unfortunately I'm gluten free and I could only find about 4 or 5 dishes from the mains that I could eat on our last visit, whereas the visit before I had more choice, so I'd felt a bit disappointed this time round but what I was able to eat was actually very tasty.
:. “. x.
Not been here for maybe 3yrs+. It seemed the obvious choice when you can't decide where to go and what to eat. Staff were friendly and efficient. Even if some of the dishes were empty, go back and they are filled again.. That's the idea! Chinese is definitely the best fayre here. I've never ever made it to the cooking stations.. Next time!! Hats off to the people who cook behind the scenes for the sheer amount they cook, and so well. Thank you!!
H. M.
Very expensive for the quality of food. Even for an all-you-can-eat restaurant you expect to have some quality. There didn't seem to be a good selection of food types either, especially when it came to the desserts. Great place if you like to fill yourself up on bread based, tasteless foods. And no! I do not have COViD.
L. W. F.
I really like this place. Honestly the food selection varies and has a lot of option. I have been a lot of buffet style places and this place is clean, delicious well prepared food and great staff. I would recommend it for anybody.
A. B.
Interesting experience however not enough room between tables, often waiting for people to sit down, get up. Needs more room for flow of people coming from and heading to the buffet.
Buffet food good for price.
M. G.
Excellent "All You Can Eat" restaurant in Reading! Amazing variety of freshly-cooked food; wonderful, helpful staff & very competitive prices! Highly recommended.
T. P.
Cosmo was always a good place to go for all the family or as a romantic meal before a movie. Even a lunchtime buffet for a business meeting. Its clean and ridiculously organised. They're cleaning the tables and sitting the next customer even before your chair goes cold. Me and my partner turned up during a Saturday lunchtime with no reservation and was sat immediately even though they looked busy. Their one way system and asking you to use their single use clothes for every trip to the buffet makes you feel very safe. Dozens of sanitiser stations everywhere. The food in my view is a solid 8/10 for taste and presentation. But a 10/10 for effort and variety. A buffet is not gunna be as fresh as a restaurant, but they pull it off to almost a close match. A little pricey, but the same you'd spend on a 3 course anywhere else. Chips, pizza and basic for the fussy kids, sushi and Indian for a taste of the Eastern and everything in between. Highly recommended for a special night out or a lunchtime get together. Maybe not a party for the 1.5 hour time limit may be a push.
S. H.
Dined with 3 people the food was good 👍 travelled from London to Reading for the experience what ticked me off was the customer service. I am aware Cosmo operates a 1:45mins dinning time and we went over by 7 mins and the customer server came up to the table and yelled " l am placing the bill here on the table and l have to clean the table" we do not speak to anyone in that manner there are ways of speaking politely yet assertive l will not be coming back to Cosmo.
C. F.
It's OK but nothing to write home about. It's like having access to every takeaway all at once whitch is quite an experience in its self but the lure of the massive choice soon wares off and you end up with a very odd plate of your favourite dishes from all around the world - if you have never tried you must give it a go but go again? Maybe on the odd occasion.
B. G.
Can be hit and miss. But I went on a Monday night and it was amazing! Love the selection. And the quality is surprisingly really good for an all you can eat buffet!!
M. M.
Reasonable. There is lots of choice so if you're going with a big group with different dietary needs it's perfect. The quality of the food is what you would expect for the price. Some food wasn't hot temperature wise. Service was good, they came round often to take away empty plates.
D. W.
Tasty and budget friendly place.
Different cuisine including Chinese, Indian, Italian and seafood.
D. B.
The place is very clean, tidy and has delicious food. I like the fact that it has all you can eat buffet for £9 for a weekday lunch especially so given the variety of cuisines. On the offer are Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Italian. Personally I found the Chinese food the best. The quality is surprisingly good given it is all you can eat, and usually they tend to cheap out on the ingredients, but not here.
The restaurant is huge and there is a lot of seating spaces so even if you just walk in you will probably be seated, as my colleagues and I did.
I would definitely recommend this place as I will certainly be coming back.
J. Ł.
Really yummy food, my favourite was the chocolate fountain. But you wait 2 hours in a queue to eat, it was worth it. Next time we'll take a reservation. 🙂🍟🍹
A. K.
Very good selection of foods from all around the world ☺️
F. d. l. R.
Quality of food is what you would expect from a buffet so nothing amazing. The layout is a bit tight and you'll be literally having conversations with your neighbouring table. The place can be very packed. The range of food is great, but totally unpredictable, some dishes can be often missing and you'll never know until you get there.
R. M. F.
Great choice of food for good price! Efficient staff and friendly, clean facilities and overall a nice venue to have dinner with friends and family!
C. E.
Wow. Delicious!!! Such a plentiful and diverse array of foods... my advice, go hungry!!! You will not regret going here!! Great value for money, and many food options for even the fussiest of eaters.
C. S.
Great variety of food, good service & reasonably priced. Gave 4 stars as you only get 90 minutes at table, so no good if you want to spend time drinking & chatting, but plenty of time just to eat.
A. R.
Great selection of food and all good quality! From Mexican to Sunday roast, Japanese to Indian it covers it all 👌 plus not bad prices either!
S. B.
Reduced selection of dishes post-lockdown ..
and their online booking system doesn't work.. it says 'thank for your booking' but never sends any confirmation email. And they never pick up your phone so you can never be sure of your booking so we ended up waiting for almost an hour get our table. Not going to re-visit for a long time.
A.
Huge range of foods from all over the world. Not high quality, more a factory of food but more than edible. Self serve. All you can eat. Staff always attentive and friendly. Well organised.
D. S.
The service from walking in to getting seated was great very polite and no waiting around.
However and is to be expected for the prices but the quality of the food was poor and tastes not great. But on the flip side where else can you get loads of different dishes and eat as much as you like.
M. S.
This is certainly one of the most attractive place to eat in the region. Whenever I come to this place I am awfully glad. They always keep their high level service and the highest level of meals they serve. You definitely will enjoy this this restaurant. Very recommended.
L. V.
Great restaurant.
I usually spend less money then here when I go out but having plenty of different foods and you can try any of them I think it worths the money. Great selection of hot food and cakes.
P. U.
Cosmo is a really nice buffet restaurant located very close to the shopping area in Reading. Easy access to local buses and stores. The food is excellent all freshly cooked and there are a lot of options to chose from. For parking your vehicle you need to look for Q-park and you will have a 25 % discount from Cosmo . Remember to ask for the discount ticket before leaving the restaurant.
N. W.
It's what you expect and it's a great buffet compared to competitors, but didn't seem as good as the one in Sheffield
S. E.
This is a great restaurant for the family with friendly staff and affordable prices. It has a wide selection of food and deserts. The quality may not be as good as specialist restaurants but there is plenty to choose from. We used to go to the JRC global in Croydon but it has gone downhill over the recent months. I am glad the cosmo in reading is still the same great place it used to be.
a. r.
Me and my family have been to this buffet a few times and it will always be my first best choice when wanting to eat out. A huge choice of foods also a whole variety of exotic beverages. Staff were incredibly kind and welcoming also one staff in particular I'm not to sure but I think his name was Zakir or Zahir. He was very polite and he had very good professionalism. :)
D. N.
The food and drink is ok but the added service 5% charge is not. The tables are very close together and on the evening we were there everyone was seated at the front of the restaurant in very cramped conditions.
S. G.
The place was rather small, it had more tables for customers than a variety of food, we were a little disappointed because we saw good reviews but compared to other buffets from the same company this one is very small.
s. w.
Staff were nice and quite organised despite how busy it was, the food was also quite nice with a very good selection (it does sque more to the Asian cuisine side but not an issue to me). My only real problem was the desert, the cakes selection felt very dry and the rhubarb and Cherri tasted too sour, some very tasty jelly though. Overall would recommend for a nice night of food! (P.s the custard buns were really nice)
J. W.
Food was nice. Quite busy and had only a limited time to eat.
G. N.
WoW, what a feast we had there last night! Massive selection of delicious food, fair selection of desserts combined with very friendly and polite staff. It's a must visit place if you're around. I highly recommend to book your table in advance or you'll face a queue outside! 😋
S. M.
It is one of the best bottomless buffet that I know.
Good food and many choices, all of them are full of taste.
Amazing dessert buffet too!
They also have a discount for the parking if you eat there.
S. f.
Great service and very welcoming:) the young lad and lady in the Red jumper are great at reception i could not have asked for anyone better great job guys:) 4/12/21 7pm is when i had my meal:).
N. I.
Fab experience - first time back since all the lockdowns. Food was great, service from our waiter Danny (trainee) was top notch, lovely guy, efficient and helpful.
I. A. S.
Food selection is amazing. But thats to be expected so no problems there. Staff were also super friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth the money.
S.
Nice food but could have better wider selection for the price.
k. D.
I certainly love their dishes and service, excellent location nearby to my apartment. The employees are always super friendly. I highly recommend this place.
S.
in here rn stuffed, very good place and friendly staff, 10/10
S. A.
Definitely worth a visit. Staff are professional and informative. Great environment. And a range of tasty food that caters to everyone. My friend and I absolutely plan on returning.
P. M.
Amazing food. Really friendly staff. I will definitely go again, won't leave it so late next time as the desserts were limited
A. S.
Great for a family meal. We enjoyed the variety of food on offer. Plenty of drinks. Kids enjoyed it, as did my older parents.
P. C.
Good food at good price, easy to use app that gives you a running total.
Only issue is you click pay bill and screen goes blank and nothing happens so gotta go up and pay, not an issue for me though 👍
N. M.
Visit on the 7th of December - Safe place to eat your dinner. Tables are spaced as covid required, use of face mask unless you are seated and having your meal. Use of gloves for picking up your choice of meal. Staff are very welcome and happy to help with any requests.
Z. A.
Great atmosphere and service. Plenty of food and choice. Seated immediately. Staff where great. Will go again.
G. m. g.
It didn't have many varieties like other stores and so many section like Indian and Mexican were completely empty and they didn't have any food for those cuisines but the staffs were very friendly and the service was great.
R. C.
Lovely food, friendly helpful staff and clean restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. Book in advance to avoid waiting at the door.
Thank you Cosmo staff!
S. A. C.
Good variety of food.
I like the idea of finding an allergens card label for every food, helping people to enjoy their meal with a certain level of certainty of what they are eating.
Desserts look all very delicious but unfortunately, I couldn't find nothing wheat free, so I must say I was disappointed with that.
My advice is for you to call in advance and book a table, otherwise, you can wait as long as 1 hour to be seated or find out they are not accepting more walk in customers.
B. R.
Lot of variety, Indian cuisine was not that great. The cost was on the higher side and they charged 4 pounds for 1.5 year old baby who didn't eat separate rather ate a few fries from our plate.
S. S.
Great value for money with more food you can wish for buffet. Cosmo has it all; from Eastern and Western cultures, such as Italian, English Sunday Roasts, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, BBQ Meat Platters, Fresh Stir Fry (highly recommend this near the sushi area), Mexican, Malaysian, Singaporean, Indian and a Sweet section with cakes and ice cream.
Not all the foods may amaze you, but the sheer volume will. If you haven’t tried a large buffet chain or Cosmo chain, I would start with this location.
A. D.
Really cool place, lives upto the expectations. EXCEPT some "food runner" in the Chinese counter... Utterly rude. If Cosmo Reading contacts me I would love to give some personal feedback on HER. Apparently she is some 10years with the restaurant which makes her GOD ... And she chooses to behave erratically. Expel her unless she owns the restaurant.
V. K.
Nice place, with a wide variety of food in the buffet. The corn soup is awesome. The delicacy from around the world is a feast to eye and mouth.
The good thing is they have a good number of vegan food in the line.
P. W.
Tasty piping hot food. Help yourself to as much or as little as you want. Huge selection of dishes from many countries. Self service but plenty of help if you need it. Lots of sweet choices for afters all help Cosmo become an excellent choice for celebration meals or everyday lunch or evenings out.
D. H.
The food is seriously good here... The staff are always helpful... I always leave feeling like I dont need to eat for the next week xD
N. H.
Buffet food, good selection & variety, all you can eat but limited to a two hour slot. All you can eat crispy duck, whats not to like
K. L.
A good place for a group of friends or family. They have Japanese, Indian, Chinese, British food. Also, they have a lot of desserts to choose from. They usually have queue, better go there early. You will struggle to call them to book a table.
F. M.
£15 for unlimited food? And with all the variety of cuisine you can ever imagine? No competition. The best restaurant there ever is.
D. S.
Staff were excellent, fellow customers were judgemental. If I want to put curry and noodles on top of a pizza I will, and only God can judge me.
A.
Amazing place to eat as always with loads of options. I have eaten at the Reading, Sheffield, and Nottingham branches. Can’t wait to try the rest.
X. O.
Always a great place to eat. V.good value for money. The food is always excellent. 👌 👌
G. I.
Always a good selection of food and great service from Danny, so surprised to learn he was very new to the job, a natural!
R. i.
Reasonable food considering it's an all you can eat buffet.....however Coventry branch better as has full Japanese range of food and Korean BBQ
B. S.
I had a good experience in this place. Food is lovely, lots of choice. Plenty to cater for every taste.
J. T.
Best restaurant I have ever been to. Brilliant customer service and the staff are very friendly. The layout is easy to understand and you can find all the food easily here. They covid control is very good, the require masks and gloves to be worn while going up to collect food and this ensures no covid infections and/or cross contamination. Very efficient and amazing restaurant. I definitely recommend.
S. D.
Food was pretty much ok. Not great for seating your group within their own time limits. Noisy, but the evening was fun regardless.
j. j.
We got seated very quickly with no reservation, all staff were very friendly. The restaurant was busy. All food options were freshly cooked and often topped up. The soft drinks are refillable.
J. A.
Thoroughly enjoyed the vast selection of foods from Japanese, Chinese, Mexican and Italian cuisine. Friendly staff and quite affordable.
l. m.
Where do I start 5 stars yes wow amazing food lots of different choices clean and relaxing restaurant really enjoyed my visit thank you
O. K.
Very good food lots of choices will definitely go again.
A. L.
The best restaurant of all! So much choice of food from around the world and you can eat until you pop! So nice and fresh. Carvery, grill, alcoholic drinks bar and limitless deserts. Everytime I'm there my husband has to roll me out! Expensive but worth it!
P. H.
Food excellent, staff brilliant had an amazing evening for our anniversary.
P. T.
Booking recommended evening times, weekends, can also walk in - queue on the left for walk ins, on the right for bookings.
£17, or £9 happy hours - well worth going for meals, drinks, desserts..
Staff was well nice l have to say, made it a very pleasant stay.
A.
Loved the place. It's all you can eat and there is all kind of food you could potentially think of. Plenty of space, recommended to book it in advance although we did not, not expensive and right in the Reading city centre!
A.
The staff were great, food selection was amazing. Business is following covid regulations as well. Only downside was that the Indian food did not taste great as it was sweetened far beyond my liking. May have been tweaked to suit more sensitive palates. May only be my opinion but that is the reason for the 4 stars.
S. C.
Lovely and lively environment.
Great food!😋😋
Courteous staff.
G. 2.
Went on the first Saturday lunchtime after reopening. It was very well organised with one-way systems to make your food choice, and the tables were spaced well apart with screens. The food choice and quality was excellent.I can recomend the roast beef. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. They have obviously had to remove some of the tables to allow spacing, so I would advise you booking on their website to ensure you get a table. I will certainly be going back.
D. (.
Price you pay for the food is worth it and great place for company and chats
s. s.
At 15.99 per head, tad expensive, though nice variety to choose fro, high quality food ..will recommend
P. T.
The best buffet restaurant, very tasty food for fair price.
D. S.
Very nice, friendly staff. Variety of food, clean place, very enjoyable evening
R. M.
Great choice of food, always a good place to catch up with friends. Friendly staff as always.
H. B.
Absolutely loved it here, food was delicious and we'll presented, lots on offer to choose from and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
K. E.
Not the greatest selection and most of the food was cold. Desserts were really good though
J. N.
The food was great and the service is very friendly
C. E.
OH MY GOODNESS I CANNOT PUT INTO WORDS HOW BEATIFUL THE FOOD THERE WAS OMG. SO LUXURIOUS. Its a bit out of my budget but definitely worth it.
A. P.
Great experience at Cosmo. Visiting from London, great service & experience
N. G.
For the buffet, it's most definitely the best value for money 💰 ! Food it's really good quality and waiting time is next not noon .
Recommended any day of the year 👌
L.
Pretty nice even though the creme brulee is very eggy not recommendable but i would go there again and again so :)
C. C.
Plenty of variety in choice of food and desserts. Really kind and friendly staff. Would recommend and will go again.
K. S.
Enjoyable place. Good food and huge variety of dishes. Stunning chocolate fountain to enjoy at dessert. Staff friendly. Place clean and cozy. Highly recommend
K. D.
Not a single complaint, all food was cooked amazing
M. K.
It was really nice getting out with some friends. The food was amazing as always and the restaurant is set out as one way system to enable social distancing, they provide one use gloves for diners to get food. Staff are helpful. all very nice after months of lockdown.
D. S.
Great food as always, not so good social distancing but I didn't catch covid so all good 👍
A. N.
They have all you can eat buffet for lunch and dinner with a selection of many Asian dishes for £15.99 for dinner.
The options are so many you will definitely find something you like. It's definitely quite a popular restaurant in Reading and has excellent reviews so for sure I'd recommend
The service was also great, quick and helpful staff.
R. D.
Always love to visit Cosmo. Huge selection of food and food always taste sooo good.
S. N.

H. M.
Nice experience dining in cosmo after lockdown and place is well sanitized, equipped with sanitizer in many places
P. D.
Good value for money. Wide variety of options. All very tasty.
M.
Although very nice food not as good a layout as before pre covid as the foods are not set out in a good sequence at all. Also they had No Alcohol on offer whatsoever. Will not be returning until all sorted as before.
a. g.
Great place to go for all you can eat from all over the world. Staff are very nice and helpful
J. M.
Freshly made and very tasty food from World Buffet, you will always find something that you would like to taste, try and enjoy. Professional service and friendly staff. Absolutely recommended!
A. V.
Good meal etc but very OTT still insisting on masks and gloves as well as a one way system (despite no longer being legal requirement) all of which somewhat spoilt the experience.
S. W.
Food was fine, bit disorganised, too many kids let loose running around everywhere, accidents waiting to happen........
P. C.
UPDATE:
I never knew how lucky I was to have Cosmo near me
Went Jimmy's O2 in London and if I compared it to eating at cosmo, it's like someone made food in a hurry and fed it to me a week later. This was never the case for Cosmo. Truly appreciate that this buffet has standards, quality and even consistency! 👌 those who haven't been to buffet and don't like them, I say give this a try. If you won't like this buffet, you won't like any other.
Never had a problem here. Food is nice with good variety to choose from. Will visit time to time :)
D. P.
Awesome food but would like better deals like special offers
J. J.
Cosmo have done a great job of making the restaurant as covid safe as possible. The food was really good and at a very reasonable price. The BBQ pork and prawns to order were particularly good! I'm looking forward to returning once they are allowed to open again.
B. M.
This is a very nice place. I love come here always, because the food delicious and the staff so friendly. Well done guys, you have done very well.
v. O.
Absolutely amazing experience even with all covid pro-causion. Felt very safe. Tasty food and very helpful staff. So nice to see them opens again. Keep going good work guys, we will be back.
N. S.
Great choice of food, but evening prices a bit steep when there is not much difference from the days choice.
l. l.
Lovely fresh food staff very friendly highly recommended 5☆
C. K.
My 50th birthday experience at cosmo was a very lovely evening.
The staff are very customer satisfaction focused and they are very polite and professional. I would reccomend this place to anyone wanting a great dining out experience, the service is second to none.
Well done cosmo I really enjoyed the food and the night at your place.
K. B.
Very big restaurant and very well stocked with food, desserts and drink. In town centre not far from railway station.
K. D.

Great choice of different dishes but can be cleaner
G. n.
Food is a good standard however you are rushed to get out
V. G.
Staff are very nice and friendly.Thank you for my cocktail treat from the house😘such a generous man.
W. P.
There is a wide variety of foods. From oriental to simple food. Great buffet options and the staff are friendly. Great seating and would revist. The atmosphere here is cosy.
V.
Fantastic.. I went out with my family as the last night before lockdown and the staff where super friendly.. Super alert for people to wear masks "all the time" and gloves every time you went near the food area. Very impressed.... They even took our temperature. I felt more secure there than the airport 😂

Great and good value for money. Staff (Adrian) even recognised us from our last visit a year ago!
v. s.
Great service, and food. Loved it.
D. M.
Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing restaurant. What more could you want?
M. C.
It's alright. The staff are fantastic, there are a lot of dishes to try from, so get trying . It has a good selection of Indian and Chinese choices meals, they taste good too. The roasted and Grilled food is good and you can help your self to large portions.
Just avoid the sushi, it's bad. I don't have any of the desserts, as I'm not a dessert fan.
Something to bear I mind. It gets busy, really busy. So either come early to eat or be prepared to wait, better yet, book a table in advance.
If you don't like busy loud places and they stress you out, I wouldn't recommend going.
A. &. E.
This is how a buffet should be done delicious food
F. M.
Made a good effort to re-open in a safe manner. Mask and glove wearing required while at the buffet (disposable gloves provided) Food is as good if not better than before. Staff are helpful. Bar is serving soft drinks only, with orders made online at the table using your smartphone.
A. C.
Wonderful resturant offering a great variety.
We were served by Adrian in Reading and he was brilliant.
I would highly recommend
S. S.
Food usual standard. Tried to charge adult for a 11 Yr old because she was tall!!
Was rectified my manager this time
B. C.
Great thing about this place is that the food turnover is constant so nothing you get is cold or been sitting there for long. It gets very busy so you really need to book to avoid the queues that are always there.
Food as I've said is lovely, well presented and constantly renewed. Lots of choice to suit every taste and with 1 3/4 hours per table, plenty of time to eat it. Drinks are average priced so all in all a great place to visit. Great also for large parties.
D. G.
Excellent service and excellent quality of food and excellent service from Manager to the suppoviers to kitchen staff members and staff on the floor and brilliant food from different countries and excellent service from tomino he calls us mommy and daddy like a joke and he is funny and friendly staff member and front of house
J. G.
Loads of pretty decent food for a reasonable price. Everyone knows what they're getting at one of these buffets, but the quality at Cosmo was better than others I have been to. Most of the food was hot and fresh. Also there is a really decent chocolate fountain for dessert. Bit slow at the end for bill-paying time, but overall I enjoyed it.
C. B.
Perfect selection of food to suit ur fancy
J. H.
Great restaurant with wide selection of food. Food tastes fresh and is kept nice and hot. Felt very safe with Covid measures in place.
S. B.
Great selection of food.carvery.currys.thai.puddings.ect.
Y. O. O.
A restaurant should have a good customer service, a wide variety of food and a spotless place. Cosmo checks perfectly all of these. It's one of the best restaurants in the UK. They have an amazing variety of food from all over the world and all these are perfectly cooked by very good chefs. The customer service is impeccable with very nice and patient waiters. The place is big enough and kept clean giving you a good environment where you can eat. To sum up, I would totally recommend Cosmo, it is worth every single penny
J. A.
Went last Sunday. Staff were friendly and social distancing rules 100%
However the food quality was not what it used to be. Charged full price with half the items missing. Many of which were cold.
No more Cosmo for me. Time to find somewhere new.
G. G.
Top place. Fine all you can eat food and drinks restaurant for under £20.
W. C.
Delicious food, many choices! Great place
S. L.
Love this place, excellent quality food with an insane amount of variety and diversity. The atmosphere is also very pleasant and the staff are polite.
R. C.
Love Cosmo after my visit. Recommend going on a Sunday or during the week because Friday and Saturday are packed with queues outside and make sure you make a booking online.
Lots of food to try out, that's the best part. Desserts are included and drinks are standard prices. Sometimes the meat supplies go down a bit but there is always lots more to try out. Getting the bill took a bit of a while but got there in the end.
F. S.
First time at Cosmo in Reading, very pleased and more likely to return.
F. T.
You gotta love this place. Eat all you want! One of the great things about Cosmo is they have food from everywhere. Curry's, Chinese food, English food, Japanese. You name it. Pudding are really good too.
The only realy problem is that they rush you to finish as you only get a certain amount of time. So eat fast 😀
A. L.
Lots of dishes to try and it was pretty good
M. S.
Wonderful food, great value for money. Very good variety of dishes, and plenty of them. Chocolate fountain and seafood dishes were the highlights for us. We went back for thirds. Really great place, especially as kids under 150 cm eat for half price!
K. C.
Good food. Better then similar restaurant in Bracknell. Lunch or dinner menu are good.
B. E.
Recently the food has not been as good as its usually been . However I did feel safe and looked after (hence the 3 star) but the food was not worth the money I paid. I might not go back
V. K.
One of the best buffet I have gone to. I think they have very well trained chefs. Staff friendly and very active. We go at-least once in a month. It would be great to have more vegetarian items. Adding paneer in Indian section would be great.
R. Y.
Superb and varied selection. Friendly staff. Lots of seating. Tad expensive though...
A. &. R. V.
As always yummy and very busy try to book beforehand.
F. M.
My first time here. The food was amazing, a great selection and it was constantly refilled. The containers holding the food are quite shallow so the food is always fresh. The cost is very good too. 4 adults total bill just over £80. Greatly recommended.
M. A.
Was there on Tuesday since covid most of the staffs are very friendly kind and humble except (Sorry to say) the Chinese ladies please train them how to speak to customers. One of them was shouting at my friend bec' she accidentally stood up to take her food without her mask, everyone is still trying their best to adjust to the new rules everywhere they go. My friend was so embarrassed that she couldn't enjoy her meal anymore, saying it's so embarrassing begin old and getting shouted at like that Infront of so many people. Food was great ( less choices than before) dessert was so so could be better & your Indian food SHOULD improve especially since there has been bad reviews about it. The rice was so hard and dry the rest was tasteless even the tandoori 😔 if you try harder definitely you can improve your Indian section. Please take this as a positive feed back!
P. C.
Not my thing but the kids love it quality good
M. T.
Amazingly large selection of foods to choose from, almost guaranteed that you will find something that you like. The food choices are constantly changing too, meaning that you won't get sick of the same selection. However the quality of the food is not consistent. It largely depends on the chef and how long the food has been on display for, so some days are better than others. I would largely still recommend though, especially the dinner selection.
P.
Superb luncheon buffet. What a range! Large spread of food, different dished cooked in different styles. Everything had a fresh taste. Top class. The desserts too were good. Fully satisfied.
Would love to visit Cosmo again.
The fact that the place was crowded goes to show what a great demand there was for good food! So glad to find a top class luncheon buffet in Reading.
D. C.
loved the food Best of all the chocolate fountain
R. E.
The food was really nice. Queues to get into the restaurant flow outside although they weren't that long, which isn't ideal in autumn and winter weather. The only other criticism is more so related to the general public but could be prevented by staff, which would be children being allowed to get food for themselves without parental control. Several times I have seen small children picking food up and putting it back, on some instances even eating parts and putting it back which is obviously unhygienic and puts you off your food. Other than that, staff are friendly and the food has always been very tasty.
M. T.
Nice food but chocolate fountain is disgusting as kids are always playing with it
M. M.
good but not the same. small portions served and not a buffet anymore as you cannot pick your portions.
App stops working. Dissapointing experience and hard to eat as the food is being brought to the table instead of picking ourselves.
hopes it goes back to what it used to be
J. B.
Excellent choice of food, and great quality for a buffet. Service can be a bit hit and miss, but they can get very busy. Visited a couple of times for a work team lunch, and always very enjoyable. Will definitely be back.
L. A. H.
Very nice. Only tried the Chinese selection, so what I did have was delicious. Friendly, helpful staff.
S. M.
Very busy but still managed to get a table for 6 of us. Service was quick, polite and friendly, and attentive enough to order more drinks. Food was plentiful, varied and good quality. Price was good. I also liked having washing facilities immediately to hand so if you'd had something messy to eat then you could quickly clean up on the way to the next course.
G. F.
Very big buffet with plenty of seats. For variety the lunch buffet was a bit sad based on the recommendations I'd been given, which was based on the dinner lay out. Which is awesome! If u can book I wouild highly recommend it especially if its the later half of the week
o. l.
Lots to eat...due to CoViD good social distancing measures have been put in place by means of a one way system when going to get your food plus use of disposable hand gloves....
G. T.
I went to thi resteraunt with friends and thouroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was great although some items go quickly, I even learned that I like squid.shame it is current closed but when it reopens I shall definitely go again, much better than Tangs in Bracknell and close to the buffets In the US.
P. D.
It's busy, fast food style buffet with plenty of choice. As such the quality isn't high but most people seem happy. Not suitable for severe allergy sufferers due to cross contamination although the allergy information is well signed.
D. M.
Been to the Reading and Oxford branches of Cosmo on a few occasions now. Always impressed. Food quality very good for a buffet. Kids love it as they can have as much as they want of what they want. The grille and BBQ are probably the best food as it is cooked to order (includes scollops and king prawn), but this section isn't always open. Roast beef was really good... Plates are often cold, so small portions essential if you like your food hot.
A. N.
Food was ok if you want different choices, quality has gotten better since pandemic.
J. R.
I loved the food and service was great wish there was more sushi
S. C.
Great food and very friendly waiters who actually seem happy to be back! Would defiantly recommend!!
N. G. (.
Fantastic food at one great price! You'll definitely get the best value for money if you come here hungry because you'll definitely want to try everything they have to offer. Large variety of cuisines to choose from as well as great dessert. Would highly recommend.
G. S.
Good food good sushi
Busy tasty fun
K. M.
Excellent food platter. Amazing dessert selection! Perfect for a family meal for foodies!
N. O.
Eaten here various times over the years.
The last time was for a stag do. There was a party of around 10. The staff were accommodating but rushing. You have a time limit on your seat. The food is quite bland but you can eat as much as you like. Deserts aren't too bad either.
Best time to go for a bargain price is lunchtime midweek.
R. J.
Lots to choose from. The options are wide but not of a great quality. Lots of it seems like ready frozen foods. However, a lovely place to go with friends for the atmosphere and experience.
The desserts are always great and so balance out the mains!
K. C. L.
Excellent food and atmosphere.....on Dinnr buffet .
C. H.
Great selection you would hope for from this kind of buffet place. We booked in advance but looked like there was plently of seating had we not done so - though was very busy so clearly popular! Highly recommend the housing duck pancakes and chocolate fountain. Great for £17 pp for 2 hours.
T. B.
A much better than average world buffet, very large dining areas and good seating/dining table area within simplistic decor that goes well. Staff very attentive clearing plates etc whenever you are off replenishing your plates.
There is a great choice that would suit all tastes and a better than average sweet/pudding selection. To summarise food is of above standard for a world buffer restaurant and is good value for money including the price of drinks whereby many establishment tend to make money on drinks served.
My only negative remark is not about this restaurant but other with lesser quality who should follow example.
I can fully recommend Cosmo world buffet for value for money!
S. P.
An excellent selection of food from around the world, served as an unlimited buffet. Overall quality is good even if a few dishes are hit or miss. Very good value at lunchtime for less than £10. Dinner is about £15 but has a greater selection including some items cooked to order and a larger desserts choice. Very busy at times, booking online recommended.
A. G.
A frequent flyer as it's my 6 year old daughters favourite place to eat.
Always good selection of food. Always good service. Pretty cheap at just over £40 for 2 adults and 1 child having bottomless soft drinks with the food.
J. R.
Cosmo is great. I have been the 4 different ones now and each has been amazing. This one especially had great food, and a huge range. The pudding section at this one is very large and first time I saw a few items there. There are unlimited drinks but water is free. Parking is 2-4 mins walk away but quite expensive.
There isn't a huge range for gluten-free/celiac's but even still is a great place to visit.
J. C.
Fantastic food. I wish I'd taken pictures. I tried a lot of different foods including Chinese, Indian, Italian. All the food was brilliant, the staff were great. The price is fantastic considering you can eat all you want.
I will definitely be going back.
A. H.
First time here. Recommended to me by friends. The food was varied and so tasty. Massive choice of dishes from around the globe - all constantly refreshed, so fresh and piping hot. The waitresses were attentive. Plates cleared quickly. All drinks are reasonably priced with a refillable soft drink option. I think it would be a good idea to book if there are a few of you going as it gets busy towards the weekend. Can't wait to go again. I love all-you-can-eat Crispy Seaweed.
D. D.
A great all you can eat restaurant! Lots of choice for food from different cuisines, which is great. Staff are friendly and helpful, always cleaning and taking plates away when they see them. They could do with changing the choice of food you can get after a few months or so as it gets rather boring having the same food each time you go. Rather busy restaurant, would suggest you book in advance to make sure you get a table.
J. T.
Nice food but staff really do need to refresh dishes more often. Several times today we found empty dishes and had to wait some time for them to be refilled. Staff also need to be vigilant and put down lids on dishes inconsiderate customers have left raised, cold food when it's supposed to be hot isn't pleasant! Floor needs to be kept clean too, people drop food often and it's dangerous and slippery when staff ignore it. Staff quick to clear plates at least.
K. M.
Great place to eat. They have a full variety of food so no matter what your taste buds, there will be something for you.
Buffet style eating, plenty of time at the table. Always busy.
G. O.
Great menu...
Love foods and desserts
I. V.
Went there after 2 years....obviously lockdown. Disappointed as 1 way system was confusing for anyone who was there. Not great selection as was before.
M. R.
Was disappointed last time I went a few months ago, but this time it had mostly redeemed itself, was tastier and more flavoursome, food tasted fresher, looked more appealing. Let down by a cook we saw handling different foods without gloves, potentially very bad. They need to sort this out. Will check it out again though and hope to have same quality food next time without the possibility of cross contamination.
W. S.
Last week was the first time in this excellent restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last time. We had a good time with the efficient service, with the great cuisine and wine and with the modest pay. We will absolutely return there again.
B. O.
Huge variety of cuisines and meals, everything is normally fresh, quality is good. The biggest buffet restaurant I've ever been to. I love to go there very few months and eat to the limits ;) It's impossible to try everything at one go, you need at least several trips to Cosmo.
H. R.
The food was gorgeous but the service was appalling. The entire meal a young waiter stood just across our table greeting on the door spent the most part of our stay inappropriately talking with staff about getting drunk, partying, flirting and his sexual adventures and it made me and my partner incredibly uncomfortable. The other staffing of young girls were neglectful of clearing tables or any proactive service leaving a terrible end to what would have otherwise been a great evening.
R. R.
Well priced 'All you can Eat' buffet with a wide selection of Asian food (Indian, Chinese, Thai) food. The cooking is okay rather than great. Service for drinks is fast. The place can get crowded at peak times and you get a time limit on your table. Cheap and cheerful and good for kids, although that might put some people off.
b. b. d. w. a. a. c. s.
Needed to be a little tidier and cleaner and to refill food quicker
S. S.
Huge choice of reasonable quality food considering what it is (all you can eat buffet). Staff were excellent and efficient. It’s well decorated but very busy, don’t expect a relaxing meal here. The staff and customers know the deal, this place is all about vast quantities of various foods!
The food quality varies a fair bit (eg. Fantastic pizza but awful roast beef) but nothing is left standing out or empty for long, everything is replenished and fresh constantly.
R. G.
Great selection of food from all around the world. But they are alright. Have eaten at better buffet places in London, this might be the best Reading has to offer? If you are not a fussy eater and dont care much about what goes in your tummy, you'll love it. Personally, I only go on social occasions when invited by family and friends. Fun place overall.
D. C.
Could've been better if the queueing system was well-arranged. Staff could show being more helpful and smiling is not too hard to do. You want to feel that you are welcome and not that you owed them serving you specially cooked food. Busy environment and advance booking is highly recommended, arrive early so that you won't miss your slot, note where you will park as it may take time to find a space.
J. R. H.
Bit of a tradition with some friends as it's all your own choice. You have a limited time to eat and a seemingly unlimited choice of dishes. Great food at a good price and easy to try things out before you book into a specialist restaurant.
P.
Great food. Great selection. Great price. What's not to like? Had less people come in our party than booked and they were nice enough not to take it out of the booking deposit.
J. H.
We didn't have to wait long to be seated on a Saturday night (table of 4) but I think we got lucky and recommend booking ahead.
Our food was ok but not exceptional or amazing. This is made up for by massive choice and nothing in short supply or left to go bad.
Table service was excellent, plates cleared regularly and staff really friendly.
Bathrooms were great too, very clean.
It is absolute chaos though, very busy, noisy and bustling so don't expect a relaxed dining environment.
We would go again for a good time with friends.
j. s.
Really good buffet. Very nice staff
J. G.
Lovely food, Lovely staff! Very crowded and noisy, though, and not happy to be told we had a time limit. It puts pressure on the diners, and adds to the stress of dealing with crowds and noise. If you want to chat with the person opposite, knowing how to lip read would be useful... I would go back, but maybe not on a Saturday night!
M. L.
Excellent food, friendly staff and good service. Just make sure you don't get in too late because the food runs out and not much choice left, felt a bit rushed. Very noisy and tables are packed very close together, But otherwise highly recommend going there and would go again for the food.
J. M.
My wife and I went there on a Saturday evening. We've never been there before, so we didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to announce that Cosmo lives up to its reputation for being a classy restaurant with a wide variety of foods. We loved it a lot! The food was great! We will most definitely go again!
A. N.
Good value lots of choice. Not quite as good as pre COVID bet getting there.
T. C.
Great place to go for a big meal with friends. Food is not super deluxe quality but is made up for in quantity and variety. Fill your plate with loads of different cuisines and enjoy. Easy to overeat; lots of fun!
N. J.
I loved it so much, that I would like to go again!!
B. A. (.
When we arrived (party of two on a Saturday), we were seated very quickly, considering how busy it was. To get the bad out of the way, I totally understand it gets busy, but I really don't like that you get a time card placed to tell you how long you can stay. With that out of the way, the food is very nice. It is always well stocked and I love how many cuisines there are to try. The salad selection is fantastic as well. There is also a cooking station where they cook steak, salmon and such to your request, but it was too much of a line for me to try. All in all, I really enjoyed the place, the waiting staff were very attentive, I would definitely recommend it.
M. N.
Our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised. There's a huge range of dishes from various cuisines, mostly Asian, then Mexican. Lovely selection of desserts too and very good value at £8.50 for lunch
D. R.
Ok range of food. Some of it taste a bit meh, toilets are pretty bad. Tables are cramped, didnt we was put up against a wall with people on the surrounding tables, I had to practically climb over our table because the space between each one was almost none
s. k.
The variety of menu is amazing to say the least. Everything was fresh and straight off the kitchen. One has to book in advance especially on weekends as there is quite a rush.
All said, this is a great weekend place to relax with family and friends.
Y. P.
Have had a great time dining here twice now for an evening meal and lunch.
The food and the atmosphere has been great. The buffet has a good selection of dishes and desserts
H. W.
Great food, lots of choice. Fresh food always available. Friendly staff, efficient and always ready to help. Only disadvantage when busy is some tables are very close making it awkward to move around.
e. u.
Great selection of food, lovely ambience. In hindsight, we should have booked in advance as we had to wait nearly an hour to get a table. My advise is book before you arrive or avoid evenings at the weekend.
N. V.
Good food, great covid safe measures. Not too happy with the compulsory service charge in a buffet restaurant though.
M. K.
Very good prices for an all you can eat restaurant.
You can find almost everything there while you are not paying much. The truth is that the night you have more choices (i.e live cooking etc ) but you pay more . I would totally recommend it especially for those who love tasting different cuisines.
However they could be cleaner.
J. C.
Cosmo is a great place to go and sit down and just eat complete out, such a variety of food available from Asian to Western to Italian, now days it kind of Not that great as used to be, but still satisfies your stomach with all the dishes they serve, food is still tasty but some lack flavours and lack care. Overall I would still go back to have a good time.
O. W.
Fantastic! A food lovers paradise, just wish they had a branch closer to home. Can’t wait for our next visit. We particularly loved the Aromatic Duck Pancakes and the King Prawns.
D. P.
Had our baby shower party meal here for big party and we were pleased by the service and food options available with all you can eat from around the world and desserts options. Also, we go quit frequently here coz of the choices and price. Definitely recommend this place for hungrier people .
R. B.
Very busy when I went, so queues for everything and a high risk of someone nudging you to spill your plate. A decent variety of foods to chose on an all-you-can-eat basis and the price was reasonable for the area. But most food tasted surprisingly bland and indistinct. Some of the roast meats were very fatty and unavailable most of the time I was there but most of the more traditional Asian food was well stocked. Desserts looked good but tasted so-so. Plates were small forcing you to make several trips and fight off the crowd regardless of how hungry you are. I'd advise avoiding at peak times.
F. S.
Great range of food catering for all tastes. Found the the food to be of a higher standard than other buffet style restaurants I have visited. Definitely worth a visit if your in town.
M. B.
I enjoyed the feel of the place, looks very nice and is comfortable. The food itself was good, and of course (as a buffet) you get your money's worth. Only downside is that there was not as much choice as I would have liked. Maybe I'm fussy or maybe I didn't know where to look but I didn't find too many things that took my fancy. Finally, the desserts are underwhelming. For a buffet I would expect a Pizza Hut style ice cream machine, yet the desserts are small and lower quality. Overall, however, it was a good night out with some friends.
Bottom line: I'd go back for seconds
T. N.
I was quite looking forward to my dinner at Cosmo as I'd heard quite a lot of good things about it. First off, the waiting area space is very limited. When you have hordes of hungry patrons waiting for a table, on a cold night like tonight you don't want to be hanging around outside. Once you get in, it's lovely to see the many scores of different dishes. This itself was one of the main reasons I was looking forward to this buffet feast -- the sheer number of different dishes you can try. However, I'm sorry to say that in any restaurant where the menu spills over to yet another page, one should be aware that the quality tends to deteriorate. And I was not wrong. A lot of the things I tried just didn't quite seem to excite my taste buds. It was not tasteless or horrible-tasting by any means, but the flavours were just so-so. The wasabi on the sushi stand was ridiculously tame, the chicken tikka masala was bland, the prawns were a great size and very tantalising but in the end just tasted a bit ... meh. The Mr Whippy ice cream machine, which really got me excited (because I love Mr Whippy!), dispensed a rather wet, somewhat slightly gritty icecream which had no flavour whatsoever and so I had to enrich it with chocolate from the chocolate fountain. Even the soft drinks machine was spitting out a lack-lustre orange fizz (Sunkist I think), but the Vimto was as flavoursome as expected. Our table of 14 was also positioned in such a way that whenever someone wanted to push back their chair to go fetch another plate, it would inevitably cause an obstruction and irritation to people who were just trying to fill their own plates. In other words, the tables are just a little too packed in for my liking. Now don't get me wrong, most people will be blown away by the sheer choice of dishes and the fact you can eat as much or as little as you want, and that the waiters and waitresses whisk your finished plates and bowls away with smooth efficiency, and that the pandan and custard filled buns are really yummy, and that the atmosphere is buzzing, and that you get all this (drinks cost extra, by the way) for £18. My remarks are made when compared to my more local all you eat pan-Asia buffet, Tangs in Bracknell where the choice is not so widespread but, for me, is more than made up for in depth of flavour, more on-point refilling of dishes and a more relaxed environment. Incidentally, Cosmo's gents toilets were inexplicably down to a single cubicle to service the entire restaurant. Didn't like that either.
C. B.
Absolutely love this restaurant/Buffet style. Staff get your drinks or empty refills and then you help yourself to any dish and there are plenty to choose from. Each meal has an allergin block next to it to inform you of the allergies. Highly recommend.
B. M.
Been many times. Booked on line and when we arrived they had no record of our booking. Luckily we had a email copy of the booking. A bit manic at this time of year, lots of parties, staff struggled a bit to keep up with demand and topping up the food. But all in all, it was good. We have been before, so know what to expect.
A. F.
Can't fault this place for putting on such a good all you can eat buffet day after day. Absolutely lovely food. Always fresh. Great service. Loads of staff members on hand. Wheel chair access
P. P.
Name anything - from sushi to Noodles, Tikka to Bhajjis , Thai Green curry or Singapore Noodles, this is one place where I can eat to my heart's content, not compromising on the taste.
I was deceived by the small, usually boring entrance doors of this place but inside operates such a big and busy world class dining. The food, desserts and tables are setup with nice ambience, neatly maintained toilets are definitely worth mentioning. This is a restaurant, definitely not to be missed by a foodie, whom should take enough time to admire and then indulge into the buffet . Gets busier during weekend and special occasions hence reserving a table is always recommended.
The only negative is that there is no dedicated parking for this restaurant, as it located in the very busy high street of Reading. Off-street pay parking in Greyfrairs street is the nearest, if not in the roads around where there is max 3hrs parking limit.
R. W.
Ok for fast food. Some of the dishes took some time to refresh, but generally satisfactory. Lots of different cuisines on offer. If its not there, ask. Someone will tell you.
Drinks are extra on the fixed price. Make sure you tell your waiter you want water if you do, its tough to get a glass afterwards.
H. L.
Very clean place. With a great buffet style menu that means there is something for everyone. Well priced for all you can eat and better value at lunchtime. Will be back again
S. M.
Really good meal. Staff were very helpful and food was great. All was very tasty and I will be going back. Good selection of everything and nothing ran out.
L. B.
Staff were very helpful and friendly 🙂
e. p.
Nice food. I loved it
P. U.
Good place if you are super hngry and do not require anything fancy. You will definitely come out happy. They have a huge space inside with quite a crowd on a busy day like weekends (you will be pushed by the people walking passed your table all the time). You may want to book a table for then, otherwise there can be a long queue to get inside.
At the weekend food was freshly prepared (quick turnaround) and there was a lot of choices.
N. K.
We went on a Saturday for dinner. This place is targeted for people for want lots of different geographical cuisines at an acceptable quality. There is also a small chocolate fountain for unlimited amount of chocolate!
I found this place to be organized and clean. I would recommend this to groups and families.
M. H.
Very nice place and lovely food 🍲
C. S.
Great choice of foods, friendly staff. I do appreciate that fact it's a fast moving place and food is always fresh but I only gave 3 stars as I found what I thought to have been a bone in my chicken, but when I took it out my mouth it was hard plastic. Could have done some damage if swallowed 😐
D. J.
COSMO. Lovely place. Everything was fresh, everything was very tasty. Kitchen from all over the world, vegetarian, a lot of fruit and salats. Chicken and ribs, you can pick up straight from bbq. Amazing ! Was suprise how good it's the food. Service was brilliant, alvays there if You need them. I was in few places like this, and Cosmo it's the best one. Very good price, for that much food. For shure I'm coming back to Cosmo.
R. I.
Plenty of choice of okay food. The reaosn for Cosmo should be variety, not top notch food. The food is not bad, It's just not great.
The place is clean, the servers clear the plates reasonablly quick. lots of food all around. Top Tip would be to book a table..It does get busy.

Took a group Saturday afternoon for a end season lunch. Really enjoyed ourselves in a relaxed atmosphere. The food was really good plenty of variety and all freshly cooked , great tasting and to finish off great selection of deserts..
Would we go again "Yes Deffently" .
Great price as well..

Fantastic choices of Asian cuisine. Currys are awesome!! Vegetables are really nice. Desserts are finger licking good. What more can u ask for. Also for the price it's worth it. Highly recommended

Whenever we go to Cosmo, doesn't matter where in the UK, it's always a pleasant experience. Dinner is generally better as more food, especially grilled meat and fish, is available. However everyone usually finds something of their liking. Personally I suggest to eat lightly or not eat at all before going there. Keep space in your belly before going!
S. H.
Really nice food. A bit hit and miss at lunch time but dinners great. Don't get the staff coming over to check everything's alright which is a good thing!
L. R.
Lovely place, nice decoration, the staff is amazing, food is good and nice vegan options, but need to improve a little bit more. Deserts are not vegan apart from fruit. Need some improvements on that. Other then that it's a good place to have a nice meal.
J. S.
‘Trainee’ was really helpful and kind. She made our experience better overall.
M. W.
Quick service, tasty meals, lots of choice. Great for fussy eaters and all ages. Really good choice of food for a all you can eat place. Wait staff clear up quickly too so your not surrounded in dirty plates.
S. C.
Generally good quality food. Amount put out varies with how busy the place is, so the food is always fresh. Some tables are a bit close together but only in 1 or 2 areas of the restaurant. Staff are friendly and efficient taking dirty plates away.
D. P.
Scruffy exterior leaves you unsure but if you are a brave soul and take the leap it is like entering a foody wonderland. Lovely staff and a warm welcome. It won't win any Michelin star but the food is good, great value, varied and if your hungry, you won't be when you leave. Strongly recommended. Take some friends. I am going to.
m.
Food was nice and service was fine, downside was the whole meal felt rushed with only 1.5 hours. I don't think that is long enough for a big group having dinner, 18 of us tonight including children to sort out and help with there little meals. We could really of done with another hour, something to remember next time we go out for a big family meal..
J. H.
The positives: the savoury buffet is good, particularly the Asian dishes. The western dishes are ok but nothing special. There is usually a good choice, even at lunch time and the layout keeps queuing time to a minimum. The less positive: dessert choice is poor unless you like what tastes like packaged cake, of which they have about 8 varieties. No chocolate fountain or ice cream at lunch and minimal choices besides cake (they sometimes have fruit)
M. A.
Frozen food used to served as it looks fresh. There are some fresh salads but it has lots its fresh ingredients what it had when it started few years ago. Prices have gone up slightly but over all food quality and taste have come down.
S. W.
We dined quite close to closing time so your experience my differ. We were all made to pay up front for the food and were sent to the bar to get our own drinks, which I thought was a little strange but did not argue.
As it close was closing time, the food had been under hot lamps for a while and was dry, while some dishes had not been replenished at all.
My conclusion with the food is that Cosmo does a lot of dishes well, but doesn't do any of them exceptionally. Overall, it is good value for money, but nothing special.
J. W.
My teenage kids loved it and it's decent value compared to a three course meal elsewhere but none of the food was especially memorable (in either a good or a bad way). Drinks prices are reasonable and what little service that was necessary was friendly and efficient.
B. Y.
The restaurant is nice and broad, the meals was delightful and the prices were very affordable. fast, effective service and very amiable staff. Highly recommended.
E. G.
As always, excellent selection of food, well cooked and very varied. Brilliant value for money as you can keep going to get refills with no limit (not tested the no limit as I'm always full by the time I finish) highly recommend and the staff are always helpful and provide good service
S. S.
Brilliant. The food variety is amazing with so many choices. The food was really tasty, however there should be more vegan and vegetarian options as my friend had a hard time finding food, but otherwise it was terrific. 🍲🍲👌👌
E. M.
Good food, good price, good staff , huge food selections.
We're fr farnborough and we love cosmo so much, the only downside is the travelling and the Reading Borough, my family and friends paid the bus lane penalty charges , 2x it happened with my family obviously with a different driver 😂😂 simply because we're not familiar in reading and just following the mobile instructions. I think the best solution is you guys need to open another branch near farnborough 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
M. M.
Loved the food. A good place when you are looking for a variety and good taste.
K. K.
Lots of variety. Food nice. This is my third Cosmo restaurant I've been to. Was on par with rest, except there is a very unpleasant and overpowering smell of toilet cleaner where the icecream is served, so not nice if you're sitting at the tables near there.
M. P.
A nice place to visit, food is always fresh and hot, huge choice and all very tasty.
Drinks are very reasonably priced.
Great selection of desserts.
All the staff are friendly, polite and courteous.
Overall, very enjoyable.
M. A. H.
Good buffet restaurant in Reading town center. It has nice spread of cusinesnfrom various Asian and mediteranian region. Good range of starters and includes soft drinks. It has a bar for some cocktails. Live kitchen for dinners I believe. All.in all good place for food. Weekday lunch us a good deal just gbp 8.50.
S. L.
Nice friendly staff the food was alright.....
P. C.
Wow! First time visiting Cosmo and it was superb. The selection of food was great, it all tasted fresh too. The atmosphere was electric, you could tell from the buzz in the dining area that everyone was enjoying themselves. Why did they lose a star? They added a service charge then explained we could opt out if we wanted. No disrespect but Cosmo is self service so what the service charge covered I'm not too sure.
J. F.
amazing food. Absolutely loved that. We didn't book the table because it was fully booked but we tried anyway. Expected to wait for ages but didn't wait for more than 10 minutes. Can't wait to go there again.
A. B.
We had a great service and they gave us plenty of room for 3 Highchairs and a double pushchair. Have never faulted the meal there, however my husband would like to see the roast available everyday, not just sundays.
D. A.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Was blown away by what you can get for £10, as many dishes as you want and dessert included! I went here during Reading Festival and the amount of food you can get for that price there is a single burger with a slice of cheese and a bottle of water. Unbelievable value and such a wide selection of food!
M. M.
Used to be one of my fav places. Covid has really put a stop to living and quality that used to be for so many places sadly Cosmo one of them. I still love the place with great memories though.
T. T.
Definitely book if you don't want to queue out the door on sat or Sun. Large selection but like with any buffet it's large quantities but not as good quality. Pick from Thai Chinese Indian Japanese and some English dishes. Teppanyaki area where they can make you steaks is good, also have a mixed grill
S. S.
Lots of choice of food, but if I'm honest go here if you want to stuff your face and have lots of variety or if you don't know what you want to eat... but none of the options are anywhere near the best of that type of food I have tried... but it's like watching an action movie... so long as you know what you are going to it's one of the better options for all you can eat world cuisine buffet.
E. Z.
I went there during lunch time. The staff is friendly. The lunch was average. Price is good if you don't get drinks. Overall with the interior I expected more from the food which was very generic. Perhaps they do dinner better.
C. H.
Excellent selection of various foods from around the world. With it being a All you can eat buffet you won’t leave here feeling anything less than full, You’re allocated 1 hour and a half for your table which at first glance doesn’t seem like much but it is plenty of time. Opens two points of the day: Lunchtime and Evening; The prices change between those two times as you have the Live station chefs there available to cook specialised options from their menu. For the sweet tooth you have a vast amount miniature puddings to select from that also has Ice Cream and a Chocolate Fountain. Can be waiting times without booking so better to book in advance.
k. s. j.
It was hard to find where is salt and where they have kept spoons and fork. But their chocalte fountain was awesome and yummy, the best hot chocolate i ever had in my life, love you for your chocolate but your indian food was not upto the mark
K. D.
Brilliant variety of hot, delicious foods from Asia and Europe and great desserts too. The only gripe is if you have a tall child be prepared to pay adult prices for them as they determine a child by height not age.
N. T.
Good for non veg, for veg less options.
J. P.
Good food, bottomless drinks(coke, diet coke, Sunkist orangeade, lemonade and vimto) huge selection of foods from all over the world, including Chinese, Indian, Mexican, BBQ, tepinyaki along the with some roast bits and pizzas. Plenty to chose from, you will never need to have the same thing on a plate twice! (Unless you want to) make sure to save room for the desserts as they are pretty great too.
Only downside is you will usually have to be prepared to wait as it gets busy here (especially weekends) and therefore gets super noisy and crowded inside. Not the sort of place for a romantic date (unless the goal of the date is to not talk much and get as far as possible as quick as possible!) But great for groups or parties.
M. J.
Amazing food, it is well worth it! Try the marshmallow fondue. It is usually crowded, you might want to makee a reservation. For the ones who usually like to stay a while, keep in mind you are required to leave in 3hours.
A.
Too long to wait not all the food out. Have to keep asking to re-fill the food up. Not many puddings out at lunch time. My kids love the 99 ice cream machine and 4 times now never at lunch times. Music was too loud i couldn't talk over thd loud music. Let down
m. h.
Nice world buffet. Good customer service. The best food was the roast beef and roast turkey. Chinese and mexican were nice. However the indian cuisine wasnt very authentic. The dessert spread was very extensive. Including things like a chocolate fountain, apple crumble with hot custard, tasty brownies, various tarts and pastries etc. Soft drinks were 3.50 and you could refill as many times as you wanted. Food was served hot and was being replenished. You are allowed 90 miniutes to eat. Which was more than enough time. The price of the sunday dinner buffet is £16.50. Which is very good for the spread of food offered.
M. M.
Always when we are in Reading on our list "must visit"
T. T.
It was very pleasant, welcoming
T. T.
Fun place to be the food was great but over all it was ok
s. w.
I have given a four star due to the lack of vegetarian options. I was disappointed to find not veg curry or even thai green curry veg. If it had not been for this then I would have awarded more. So please can we have a few more vegetarian options on this food
M. H.
This place has an amazing selection of food on offer, and really lives up to the hype. You won't spend too much money here either, especially if you go at the right time of day. The all you can eat option is brilliant.
D. A.
Good place to take friends and family,
Note there is a time limit of how long you can stay and eat.
Only downside was the time limit. It was never informed to us when we told the waiter we've never been to Cosmos before.
I'll go again and this time make sure I can enjoy the desert too
H. A.
Great food lots to choose from
S. B.
Loved it. Great food. Great location. Enjoy
P. T.
Fantastic restaurant. We love coming here as there is such a wide variety of food. As we all like different types of food there is something for everyone. We also used there special offer where someone eats free if it's their birthday
E. B.
Absolutely love it here, 3rd visit would highly recommend. Lots of yummy foods and desserts to have , staff were very accommodating and friendly. We shall be revisiting. Thank you
C. S.
WHAT CAN I SAY JUST AMAZING THE STAFF CAN'T DO ENOUGH FOR YOU THE FOOD WAS ALL HOT AND FRESH CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK WOULD RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE
S. H.
Incredibly good choice of food but although the restaurant wasn't full it took 15 minutes to get us seated even though we had booked. The food I chose was mostly served warm, on cold plates, but a lot of fun. Not my first visit and I'd certainly go again.
Π. Κ.
The ideal place for trying international cuisine, mainly Asian!
v. k.
Amazing restaurant. Lots of different food all made fresh and some of the food is made right in front of you. Best to book a table or risk standing in a big queue. Friendly and helpful staff. I will be visiting again
F. R.
Delightful variety of different foods from around the world with a lively atmosphere. Chinese, indian, roast, tie, pizza, burgers, chocolate fountain, creme brulé can all be found here. The problem here is eating until your full not sick as it is all you can eat. Each sitting is a specific length of time. Good for parties and birthdays due the range of food. Cheaper at lunch than dinner. Will visit again.
G. M.
Go here if you're hungry because there is so much to eat. If you want a peaceful meal this is not the place as it is constantly busy with their food and prices being the reason. It would be 5 stars if there was more space as you are quite cramped a lot of the time.
S. S.
Brilliant. Great array of food all cooked well.
Pleasant and fast service and the buffet was kept well stocked.
V. K.
The greatest aspect of Cosmo is it's variety of food. It can sate many different appetites all at once. I went around 19:00 and the food tasted good, better than most buffets but nothing exceptional. However, as stated prior, the greatest attribute is the variety of food in which it excels. I did not have to pay before eating, so that may practice may have been discontinued. The staff were friendly as well, and were always on top of any issues such as plates that weren't being used anymore. There is a time limit, but I had finished well before it expired, however I can see it being a problem with more people. Overall I had a great time at Cosmo, however I always did like a variety in my food.
S. F.
Blown away by this place. Had lunch after a short wait. Great choice of food at a very reasonable price. The place is well presented and clean and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend
I. B.
great food and plenty of it, from the outside its seems small but it is huge inside. i have been there many times and the food has always been amazing. its a great place to take family as there is something for every one.
D. R.
Lovely food with a great selection, which would literally cater for anybody. Only down side is staff not great and you only get about an hour to eat so not great if your doing for an occasion, that being said is why I have only given 3 star
A. D.
Usually very busy on weekends. Would recommend making a reservation as the wait time in the queue is around 35 minutes. Wide choice of world foods. Chinese, Indian, Far Eastern, BBQ & Teppanyaki and loads more.
S. S.
Amazing food.
Great price value.
Highly recommended to everyone.
Try the Seefod grill section.
Birthday person eats for free but you must pre book it and notify them.
You will love it.
M. G.
This will always be my favorite buffet I. The world. Not sure how they do it, but it's like a combination of 5 of the best buffets for each type of food category under one roof. I visited 3 times in my week long visit to Reading.
V. D.
Cosmos is everything you could want and expect from a buffet. Nice decor, good seating arrangement, good ambience and very popular since its always filled wall to wall. Food is nice its just a shame they dont have more vegetarian options. Us veggies get a bit old and tired or rice or bean burgers. Whereas restaurants bend over backwards for alternate dishes and flavours for meat choices so a change would be nice. Going by what I have tried very good!
C. T. L.
An excellent place and they keep their quality up as usual.
I will go there again
L. L.
Huge spread. Decent food. The Indian section is Halal. Nothing mind blowing but good value for money. Deserts are sure to make the kids happy.
R. C.
Great selection of food although of average quality. Reasonably priced and got don't feel too pressured to get out like some places so they can turn the tables. However, as a family we've stopped going as we all get the 'Cosmo squits' an hour after leaving.
L. P.
The restaurant is huge... there are food everywhere for all the different tastes and preferences.. Everything is there.. The food was good for buffet restaurant. The service was fast and staff was attentive and friendly. I recommend it.
R. M.
Love the big variety of dishes. Nice clean big place. I just can't believe 18mos old babies have to pay. But overall it's a great buffet restaurant.
J. C.
Awesome place, food is reasonably priced for an all-you-can-eat buffet. The chinese is the best food in my opinion sadly it is also the one most focused on out of all the cuisines. My advice is too eat light prior to visiting to get most out of the experience and to reserve a table as waiting in line up front may take a long time, especially at noon!
E. H.
Went On BH Monday for Dinner, was not busy. Food was very meh, meat options were awful (quality) seafood options saved this from being a 2 star review, all options were much of the same, and with meat ie chicken and beef dishes having the texture of burnt cardboard, options were even more limited. Drive a few miles down to Bracknell and visit Tangs, quality if food is amazing and staff are much more informative and attentive.
A. C.
Fantastic place to any "all you can eat" lover. Verity of food choices is quite impressive. Prices are quite affordable. For me it is one of the best buffet type restaurants.
R. P.
Great food, and lots of it
B. W.
Very nice.
We went for a birthday meal, we booked, that was lucky. Food was lovely. Beautiful and clean and staff were very polite in fact everyone was.
N. G.
Good food selection than the other Cosmo restaurants been. Seating arrangement is bit narrow and less room to move though the spaces. Other wise almost perfect for buffet.
S. A.
Great lunch price! Indian section is halal but curries weren't my fave. The Chinese veg items, salad items and dessert were great!
P. T.
Loved it great food great place :-)
T. C.
Visited Cosmo for a friend's birthday. We had a great time and the food was nice. The only negatives for me were that our group was seated in quite a tight space and that there wasn't any crème brulé in the desert area.
C. D.
Excellent food and service. The staff are very well trained. This is my top place for eating out.
A. H.
Worth the price if you are willing to eat alot. Good range of foods from different cuisines in addition to bottomless soft drinks, a bar, dessert area. Recommended for large groups of people.
M. M.
As Cosmo Buffets go this is probably one of the better ones. Huge selection of dishes not a bad place for a quick lunch. Thankfully they replaced the cheap Soda fountain with a Coca Cola one !
P. L. (.
Fantastic, and great value for money for what you get. £20 for unlimited (great) food and drinks but if you haven't reserved a place be ready for a good wait as it's very popular and normally quite full despite how large the inside is.
T. C.
Feel it's gone a bit downhill. Not as tasty
C. G.
Its was a nice restaurant and im sure it will be even better when the Covid restrictions are gone.
I. J.
Just went to this restaurant some hours ago. Really loved it. A very big variety of delicious food you can choose from. Totally worth it!
D. C.
Good food with plenty of choices, reasonably price. Very popular restaurant so make sure you book beforehand. Ambience of the restaurant good, service attentive, nothing to fault this place really.
C. U.
What an excellent place for you to try a lot of different foods. Excellent self sevice buffet. Good service and drinks list. Go with an empty stomach tho.
A. G.
Have been here many times. They offer a great assortment of cuisines of acceptable quality for the price including Teppanyaki, Chinese, Indian & English. You get what you pay for. Would rather pay slightly more for a slight increase in quality!
R. C.
Great international food buffet. Really nice Chinese food selection but lacking in Thai food and the Indian selection is sub-par in my opinion.
Is always busy, you should definitely make a reservation if you're planning on eating evenings or weekends. They lost my reservation and made me join a long waiting list once, which was not a nice experience
D. 2.
Had a brilliant meal here! Such a selection of choices!
