First visit, based on reviews, we gave it a visit. Food and staff were excellent. Dropped one star because it could have been slightly warmer in the restaurant !! We would have probably stayed for more drinks after our meal. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't uncomfortably cold, just could have been slightly warmer. We will be back.

It is a typical modest Nepalese restaurant, I find the food very similar to Indian hence like to visit whenever I am craving for non fancy good food. Amazing Veg Chowmein/Hakka Noodles. Starters are interesting. Thali is very homely - it is comfort food.

The most amazing Nepalese food I've had. Jhol momos, thukpa, aloo dum were all so sumptuous! I really love the taste and scent of Timur pepper. Would love to see Sel roti added to the menu in future. Would love to visit this place often. Lovely staff, always smiling! Love from Bristol ❤️

I let my team taste food .Than my whole fuel station team started to buy from here everyday. Amazing restaurant. Me and my wife we keep coming to this restaurant often for their Momos (dumplings). Having stayed in Bangalore, India for a while we got used to the amazing Momos available as street food. This restaurant brought back those memories with finest Momos

Amazing customer service. It's a new place so they're still deciding on the dishes. We received a Nepalese menu only when we couldn't decide what to take on the Indian menu. A shame because the Nepalese dishes are fabulous. But above all, the customer service was incredible. Several members of staff, from waiter, chef to owners, asking us how it was and enquiring if we needed anything. Great experience and highly recommended.

If you fancy some great Nepalese food and like to be treated with respect by friendly staff, this is the place for you! Out of all the many restaurants I have visited, the service at Dhaulagiri Kitchen is amongst the best I have ever received and the food is authentic and really delicious. It is exceptional value and I always leave feeling great from good food and friendly service. I have returned many times and will continue to be a regular customer. I would very highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

One of the best meals out I've had in a long time. There was something authentic about this restaurant's reviews that made me want to visit it, and I have to say this is a genuine gem of a place that makes a visit to Reading worth it. Firstly, if you want a posh restaurant, this is not it. This is a family run place, and it is clear that many of the visitors are extended family. The decoration is simple, it is light, but you are not coming here for the view. However, what you are coming for is precisely that. This restaurant is the place where many Nepalese come for a taste of home. As such, you get two things here: 1) There are people here in the restaurant, and it feels like a family place, where visitors are accepted and welcomed. and 2) The food is seriously fantastic. I asked the owner which dishes he'd advise to a family member who was visiting, the things with the best flavour. I don't know the names of the dishes, but he served up a complete feast, and one where every dish had a unique and distinct outstanding flavour, from an incredible version of Nepalese barbecued pork belly to a local version of jerky but of lamb bits that really was to die for. The flavours were wonderfully both powerful and delicate, abundant and complimentary. There was one dish we had that was really spicy, but that you didn't realise that your mouth was heating up because it was a beautiful slow intensity in the mouth that was a delicious surprise even to my wife, who doesn't normally do spicy. If you just want an Indian restaurant (a cuisine they also offer and what we had searched for), I am sure they must be good too. But if you want a true gastronomic treat, this is definitely the place. I hope they go from strength to strength. Dhaulagiri may be the third highest mountain in the Hymalayas, but The Dhaulagiri Kitchen could well have the best food in Reading.

We regularly visit this small restaurant for eating in and takeaways. I have enjoyed several vegetarian dishes like Momo, Noodles, Chilli Paneer, Samosa etc. on multiple occasions. The quality is consistent and flavours are authentic. No wonder they have been voted top 5 restaurants in Reading recently. Highly recommended.

Just collected a takeaway from here , absolutely delicious definitely the best in Reading, exceptional value. The saag aloo had perfectly cooked potatoes and instead of a sloppy spinach mess was fresh and tasty. Curry's are awesome lovely naan. Chicken tikka was cooked to perfection and now can't wait to try the Nepalese !

Staying at the Holiday Inn for work and stumbled across Dhaulagiri on Wednesday, so good I went back on Thursday. Chicken madras Wed, Nepalese curry on the Thursday had the mushroom rice both nights as it was so good.
