Haven't been here since around 2004. Used to come here frequently back then. Swapped my usual Big Breakfast fry-up for a slightly healthier bacon & scrambled eggs on brown toast with Jasmine Tea. And it was Beautiful. PS: I'd eaten half of it before I decided to take a photo.

Nice easy place to eat, all day breakfast can't go wrong. Not the best quality but not bad by any means, hash brown was crispy (my main priority!). Cute booths and no nonsense place

I gave it 4 stars because the coffee was that good. The food was ok. Very heavy. So make sure you don't eat anything before or go for a very, very long walk after. They have a halal option which made our group very happy.

Very popular (including with groups of cyclists) and on pedestrianised area, but no bicycle racks in view. Town Square with seating nearby, which is where we waited having placed our orders. Plenty of indoor seating; outside tables barely cleared in time for our cooked breakfasts, but the service was very good. Toilets fine but hot tap could scald.

Great classis breakfast, though the coffee offering was confusing and they did not ask if we wanted milk in it, one of us didn't and they seemed bothered when we ask for a regular coffee. Maybe it is us as new UK resident who did not understand the way coffee is served, but they could have been a bit nicer about it. The food was great and in generous portion!

This is your typical cafe really: slightly run-down and in need of some paint and new upholstery, food is alright for the cost, and served quickly too, and very discreet service. I would come here again and try some other things on the menu, to satisfy certain cravings you might not get elsewhere, like a cheeky milkshake. I feel like it's like stepping back 20 or 30 years ago though, which is a good and bad thing.

A nice friendly cafe independently owned, so not part of a chain and this was reflected in the prices and service. We took our 2yr old grandson and they were able to do smaller portions and also did his scrambled egg just the way he likes it. Would definitely recommend and now we have found it we will go again next time we are in Reading.

Best cooked breakfast in Reading. Decent price and excellent service. You won't wait much more than ten mins for your food. Portion size should fill all but the greediest of bellies. Comfy seating. Just don't sit near the door in the colder months as the draught might be a little annoying.

A good old fashioned, honest to goodness cafe. Food is not fancy but exactly what you expect when you go to a place like this. Service is fast and efficient, prices are ok, neither cheap of expensive. Better seating and better sausages would be welcome improvements.

Munchees is the only restaurant I've found to give me near to the 1960s hamburger experience (it used to be a Wimpy years ago btw). By that I mean that the bun is toasted, the beef patty is of high quality and there's fried onions included. Munchees improves on Wimpy by including lettuce and cucumber (I always ask for no tomato since I don't like them raw). The only item missing is the pot of French Mustard (and large bottle of tomato ketchup) always present at a 1960s Wimpy haha. Not 5 * since I don't suppose for one minute that the pork, chicken, bacon & eggs offered are higher animal welfare quality and for that reason I only ever have hamburgers here. Not many restaurants are to be fair although it wouldn't add much to the price. Also I don't agree with the early closing policy currently in place at the moment, even on a Saturday (last orders at 14.30, close @ 15.00) which I have made the manager aware of. Perhaps instead of sending all staff home at 15.00 a reduced staff level could be used to stay open till 17.00.

We stopped in here for Ye Olde British Breakfast and it was exactly that. Perfectly buttered toast, crunchy chips, delicious eggs, tasty bacon, scrumptious beans, great tea. Thoroughly enjoyed every bite! I wish I could have a breakfast like this every day!

Awe man, munchees was where I spent all my time after college. Cheap chips and you get a HUGE portion. Amazing toasted sandwiches. Great value breakfasts and cheap coffee. This place is a great value, honest, greasy-spoon cafe. Was recommended to me by several people in pub next door, while we were there a queue started to form outside, that's how popular it is! Huge All Day English Breakfasts and plenty of other meals/snacks. Perfect place to nurse a hangover, used to have a Nepalese buffet upstairs but that shut in Jan 2014.
