Brilliant restaurant! Was researching a place to eat in Hythe, and a number of places showed up, so was strolling through the centre. I stumbled upon Amalfi, and it only had one review on Google, but plenty of Italian people were eating there, so I figured that's a good sign. I wasn't wrong. Had the salmon starter, salmon tagliatelle, and panna cotta for desert. The food was fresh and delicious, the service amazing, and the prices very reasonable.

Wow, only went in for a main meal, and have just had the best ravioli EVER!!!!! The sauce and the prawns were amazing. Really beautiful family run restaurant, where all the staff were welcoming, attentive and you can have a bit of banter with them. I'll definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you for a great meal.

Typical Italian restaurant with REAL Italian cuisine expertly prepared by the managers (a young couple) in the center of the small town of Thyte. We ate an excellent seafood risotto and a hearty grilled fish accompanied by vegetables and an exquisite focaccia. Fair prices, I absolutely recommend it

A real Italian restaurant in a very beautiful part of the south of England. The seafood is very fresh and cooked with skill both alone in the impepata and with the pasta in the spaghetti allo scoglio. The pizzas cooked in a wood oven and the desserts are also excellent, the tiramisu in particular is truly delicious. The service is attentive and the waiters courteous. A place to absolutely recommend.

I'm Italian and finding such a sublime Italian restaurant made me feel like at home again. I struggle to find such a quality on traditional Italian dishes also in Italy. The "impepata di cozze" (starter) was superb with that little spiciness. As first course I chose "spaghetti allo scoglio", the pasta was perfectly cooked "al dente" and very tasty. For dessert I had Tiramisu and I've never tasted such a good one in a very long time, you can feel it's handmade and prepared the same day as stated in the menu. Highly suggested for everyone that doesn't want to compromise on real Italian food. If you go to Amalfi, you can't complain.

I just love this place. No amount of iffy reviews will ever put me off.. and i was a little worried when booking our last meal. The staff were professional and friendly.. it was a full restaurant. I took my son and daughter in law there this time and he said it was the best calzone he had eaten.. better than the London restaurant he had eaten in a few weeks previous. Good quality food at a reasonable price (for the size of the portions.) One day i will have enough room for three courses.

This is my favourite restaurant. We have visited at least four times and every time the food has been excellent and the service brilliant. The food really does taste like authentic Italian food, it’s beautiful. Really reasonably priced too considering how great the food tastes. Can’t fault at single thing at Amalfi’s and will continue to keep returning. ☺️

Jessica made a cake and event managed the occasion for me and she was just wonderful to deal with, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. For 2 beers a starter and 2 mains it cost £33 quid, and there was lots of it. The food was lets just say TO DIE FOR, friendly staff and a good atmosphere, a delight to visit and totally amazing food, i Recommend this place to everyone simply fantastic.

The food was just average. I am being generous with 4 stars. However, I was concerned at the intimidation tactics used by waiters in insisting that service charge must be paid in cash, and not included in the overall transaction total via card payment. Most establishments are cards only these days. And many people no longer carry change but perhaps just a large note for emergency.

One of the best Italian restaurant I have ever visited in the UK, have been to several Italian restaurants in London but this one in Southampton is the best in class when you talk about the taste, my girlfriend who is from Italy said that the food just made her feel like home, thank you Amalfi restaurant for you excellent food and customer service, I would recommend all my friends to visit your restaurant. A new place to eat in Hythe. A lovely Italian Restaurant in the High Street. It is wheelchair accessible but does not have an accessible toilet. The toilets are on the first floor and they are modern and clean. The owner's are very friendly and keen to please. We asked for additional cushions and they were provided. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived at 4pm and had a choice of table. The menu is full of appetising dishes. I had a seafood pizza which was excellent. The service was excellent and the food was brought out promptly and was piping hot. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality and size of portions. I overheard some of the many calls looking for bookings and even on a Tuesday night not all slots were available. I would advise booking in advance as at popular times tables may not be available if you just turn up.

The mushroom chicken was cooked with exceptionally delicious sauce and the vegetable was perfectly cooked. The seafood spaghetti was very good as well. The dough of the dessert was garnished with rich and warm chocolate sauce. The coffee was a real surprise. They were all in big portions. The waiter was very friendly. Service was very good, but had to wait 40min for the main food with no starter ordered, the lady’s had pasta which was very nice and us men had steak which was very poor for the money, I’ve had better from Tesco, also it came with what tasted like frozen veg. So if you want steak go to a steak house not an Italian restaurant but the service and atmosphere was fantastic.

Lovely, attentive staff, excellent tasting food and HUGE portion sizes. Very busy on a Saturday night and restaurant a little warm - toilets are upstairs so not wheelchair accessible and only 1 toilet per gender. But if you’re looking for a PROPER Italian meal out, I highly recommend Amalfi.

Great value for money, however.... I had the homemade ravioli, it was tasty but the pasta was a little thick, not quite what i was expecting. My husband had the meat pizza and it seemed to be covered in piles of cheap supermarket ham and cheap supermarket english sausages - not very italian and the sausge was pretty horrid! This was a shame as the pizza base and garlic pizza bread cooked in the wood fired oven were absolutely delicious and really authentic. I would go again and try some different dishes, as it cost us only £45 for 2 glasses wine, 2 beers, two mains and garlic pizza bread and staff were friendly and attentive.

2nd time visit here this time for my birthday. However not happy. How many times do you have to say, NO ICE? Clearly the waitress doesn’t listen. Asked for Coke Zero, got Diet Coke. All drinks came with ice and we returned them. Asked for water (no ice ) but came with Ice. Meal! Had lasagna, very salty but ok , live with that as the chefs obviously likes the salt pot however not even halfway through and found the other half rock hard so not edible. Yes I told them and was asked if I wanted anything else, as my guests were almost finished so I said no thank you. My daughter-in-law asked for extra pepperoni on her calzone but alas it was on it but we were charged for it? I’m sorry they’ve been going long enough to be able to get simple things right. Others may rave about this place as I did to my partner and as it was my birthday I thought, hey why not. But a very big disappointment second time round. Would I visit again. Possibly not. Pictures attached and the bill with the charge for something we didn’t have. They did remove the charge for the lasagna so thank you for that.
