Nice views and lively environment. The servers were slight harried but still patient. The only let-down was the food. I personally found it very basic. My pizza was slightly burnt but still tasted nice. The ribs were cold and slightly fatty but had a nice flavour. The bolognese was nice. Overall I’d probably come back for drinks and the view but the food is nothing special. The

Really wide range of great food here and we couldn't choose so we came back twice xD First evening we went for the Nachos and Fajitas, faultless. Second evening we went for Pizza and sides. This is a brilliant restaurant to visit with family and friends- the presentation and taste of the food is amazing, and the speed at which it is prepared is great. The amount of food is reasonable and my experiences here were great.

Spacious restaurant with a separate bar section right by the marina. Food was yummy and the portions were impressive. Definitely arrive hungry! We were told we'd have to wait for food for a while because the restaurant was busy, but it came earlier than expected.

We went to Banana Wharf for dinner on Monday night. It was very busy , we probably waited for 45 minutes for our main course. The food was delicious. However my main course was not the one I ordered. The manager apologized several times and offered me if I would like to reorder the food. The streak was nice but had lots fat part. I didn't want to waste the food and I turned down the offer but did expect they do something for the wrong order. At the end we had a surprising discount bill. The atmosphere is very good, great view , good customer service. Definitely will go back. Love Southampton.

A neat and tidy venue to sit outside overlooking the Marina and have breakfast when the sun is shining. Not the cheapest breakfast in town and sometimes you may be unlucky and get some 'older' bacon, but the rest of the FEB is good, the service agreeable and the view can't be beaten.

Haven't visited here since Dec 2019 before pandemic. Generally only get here once a year tied in with football. Always pleasant atmosphere with polite & professional staff. Alriyish, not more. We popped in without booking were accommodated outside next to reception, had to wait nearly 20 min for menu. Menu offered everything which is already bad sign, meaning not all dishes are fully prepared on order, something was definitely either pre-cooked or frozen. We ordered mezze platter to start but it was more pickled mezze with a houmous, very bad bread sticks. Drink variety was good, staff generally nice. Saw other dishes like pasta and burger looked so bland, so I was happy didn't ordered main course. It didn't have any signature in dishes, even we popped because it looked like non chain restaurant. Definitely won't be back. Atmosphere was more like in a pub not restaurant. Just because of location puting 3 stars.

I imagined there being complementary bananas based on the name, however looking back this was probably a rather silly assumption to make. I enjoyed the chicken.

I went to Banana Wharf with my parents, sister and nephew. For starters we ordered garlic bread, cheesy garlic bread, breaded mushrooms and salt & pepper squid. The mushrooms were very oily, the salt and pepper squid didn’t taste of much except oil but the garlic bread and cheesy garlic bread were nice although a bit oily. For mains courses we had the a chicken burger with extra bacon and egg which tasted very strongly of salt and pepper, a kids lasagne and 3 linguine. I asked my sister what she thought of the linguine and she said it tastes oily and those were her words, I didn’t put those in her mouth. For dessert we just had the chocolate Fonda which was very nice. So on the whole we would say the food is too oily for the high prices. The drinks selection was good though and the views of the marina aren’t bad either although you don’t have to eat there to see the marina at Ocean Village.

Tables distanced from each other well, outside eating area also. Clean cutlery given for each course and hand wipes given also. Lovely specials menu, and traditional Sunday lunch. We had a mixture of seafood starters, ribs and mains we had beef roast (absolutely delicious and plenty, side dishes of veg included), And seafood green Thai curry's. All meals were lovely (no room left for pudding). Felt comfortable in the restaurant in this covid-19 times.

Great location to enjoy the sun. Considering the service and the quality of the food overpriced the menu is overpriced. You can get better food options and quality in the hotel opposite to it and nearby. I guess you pay more than town centre just for the location.

Finally an opportunity to visit the flagship Banana Wharf restaurant at Ocean Village. Had some difficulty finding the venue, there is a lack of directional signs but that only happens once. I cannot recommend this venue enough, all of the boxes were ticked, ambiance, setting overlooking the marina, staffing levels, extensive menu both food and refreshments. I had a high level of anticipation and was not disappointed, we were greeted on arrival by the wonderful Kate, whose smile, direction and explanation of the specials etc was well received, the food was exquisite both of us opting for an oriental stir fry. Loved it and will return.

Great location, staff and food although a little expensive for just a lunch especially the children's food and their drinks. A little noisy so sat outside. Although it had a superb view and plenty of room it was very breezy and cold so could do with better screening to prevent the menus and place setting blowing away. Really hit and miss with this place. Sometimes staff are really helpful and give the impression of being really professional whereas other times a real couldn't care less attitude. Sunday one of our party had a small dog and staff member he spoke to said no dogs at all even though I've seen dogs in the bar area many times. As about to leave another member of staff said it was fine to have a dog in the bar area!! Put two tables together to order food and the waiter who eventually came with the drinks, when queried if he could take our food order, curtly replied he couldn't take food orders in the bar area!! Wish we had just gone somewhere else in the end..

Lovely meal and great they do gluten free options too. If you are coeliac be sure to say you want 100% gluten free though as on the menu it just says the bun is gluten free but the chicken wasn't. Thankfully they asked us and were able to do plain chicken for my husband.

Seated undercover but outdoors so enjoyed fresh air with patio heaters. Tables were spaced out. The restaurant was very busy however service was attentive with drinks out quickly and starters not too long. The specials had sold out, but plenty of options on main menu. Food was very tasty.

What they have put in place is good, one way system around the restaurant (for customers only) entry and exit doors. They are only using the toilet downstairs for customers (disabled toilet) alot of customers using 1 toilet!! When we received the bill they had already put on a 10% service charge. This should be down to the customer discretion????

Wow! What can I say! Our meal was absolutely beautiful this evening but what completely made our evening so extra special was the outstanding attentive service we received from our hostess Tara. She was extremely helpful , found us a new table (as it was raining outside) even though they were very busy, but even after that, she came to our table many times to check that every thing was ok. She literally went above and beyond to make our night very good. I have previously worked in hospitality for over 35 years so thoroughly appreciate how hard the job is and Tara was just the best hostess I think I have ever come across. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Regularly visit here for dinner and the food is always lovely and it’s usually a great service! It was disappointing that we called in advance to let them know that I’d be proposing before lunch. Despite this, we didn’t get a congratulations or even a glass/pudding on the house... when you spend £80 on a big day, it’d be nice for a gesture and some congrats wishes! 7 Bone Southampton were much better the next day and the service was amazing!!

Came for their Birthday deal by Delicious Dining. Service was bizarre. The lady who would sit us was hanging out near the bar with who I assume was friends, hovering back and forth when and when someone needed sitting. Our waitress seemed a little grumpy and as If she didn't want to be there. The best service came from the person collecting the plates and bringing the meals. Food is pricey with a varied menu that's not particularly specialised. The food was pretty good though, just not sure why the starters were so pricey

We held our annual Christmas staff get together at the Ocean Village branch and i would just like to say a huge thank you to Jamie and all the staff for helping to make our evening so enjoyable. Our booking was well managed from the off with staff replying promptly to e-mails and ensuring the few tweaks made to food requests were adhered to. The restaurant itself looked so festive and we were given a warm welcome and not rushed to our seats so were able to enjoy a drink at the bar first. Once seated our food was served in a timely fashion with just the right amount of time between courses, staff were helpful and attentive. We all had the 3 course Christmas set menu and i can wholeheartedly recommend the Ox Cheek with veg and crispy roasties. All very delicious! We then adjourned back to the bar where again we were not rushed to leave and we enjoyed more drinks and laughs. My thanks to Jamie and staff once again for all their hard work to make our evening flow smoothly and a Happy Christmas to all x

Visited early on a Saturday evening and was seated immediately, order quickly taken and the food arrived within 10 minutes and was very tasty. Nothing spectacular just fish and chips but done well. The bar area was a bit noisy as there was a match on so don't go if your after a romantic meal.

This is the second time I have visited this place for evening dinner. Both times the food and service has been excellent. On this occasion I had the deep fried brie, to start. Then the Moroccan lamb for main course. If you have a hearty appetite then I suggest to order a side as I did. I chose stir fried vegetables as the side order which was lovely. For desert I had the apple pie and this is the reason for the four stars as it was not up-to scratch. The pastry was soggy almost as if it wasn't cooked and the custard was almost certainly ambrosia out of a carton. To the restaurant staff I would suggest that a little more thought would be needed for this dessert, crisp pastry and home made custard would be a beginning!

Excellent location and lovely staff. Me and my boyfriend had the breakfast buffet for £10.50 each. Food was a tasty greasy fry-up but my boyfriend found a dead wasp in his bacon. Also, the cappuccino was awful. This restaurant could've made the buffet service better by covering the food instead of leaving it open to insects or having someone serve the food from behind the counter. On another note, if you sit outside, beware of seagulls. They are not scared of humans and will go for your plate as soon as you leave or put it on a nearby table. I would recommend this restaurant as a summer day visit for its location.

Amazing food and service is always top notch. Can accommodate a variety of drinks Inc cocktails. Very busy so pre booking is advised although not essential during the week days. If your lucky you may see Matt LeTissier dining next to you. Eaten at both this one and the Hamble restaurant and love them both. Could literally eat there everyday can't fault them. Food is a little pricey but it's got the package for a lovely evening out. I spend on average around £70 for 2 of us Inc wine so not just your average restaurant food in my opinion. Enjoy!! 🖒
