Absolutely stunning view! You’re sat facing the waters and boats. Benches outside to sit and soak in the atmosphere. Lovely food choice and variety here as well. You’re almost spoilt with choice. The staff was helpful and responsive. They were happy to recommend best dishes considering the relevant allergies. Food was very tasty and timely. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Drinks were also brought in good time. Absolutely recommend

Nice spot for a sunny day with outdoor seating over-looking the marina. The food was very nice, however we did have a very long wait. Apparently the chef was having a bad day and we ended up waiting an hour or so for the food! When the food did come, though, it was delicious and very well presented. The staff were very apologetic and offered a discount. The blue cheese & truffle burgers were a hit, the Thai green curry was nice and the steak and salmon also looked good. We would definitely come back for the food + the view.

First visit for us, the team are amazing. Atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. Food is worth every penny with high quality product and cooked perfectly. The owner made a point of getting to know his customers and giving the 5* service we want. We'll be going back alot, only thing I can recommend is to book a couple of days before as the restaurant is busy....

Set by the water in the marina the perfect setting for a lovely mid week lunch of fish and chips washed down with a glass of rose. My friend had the green Thai curry and thoroughly enjoyed that too. Lovely staff but a bit over stretched like most of hospitality atm.

Visited for lunch on a quiet, sunny winters day. Staff were really friendly and the food was really delicious. Pizza had lots of toppings, the burgers and chefs special - lemon sole were full of flavour! Beautiful setting too! Will definitely be returning!

We visited Banana Wharf on a hot summers evening. The welcome was warm and friendly from the charismatic manager. It was a busy evening and the staff were perhaps less attentive due to this. We ordered the nachos and 2 blue cheese and truffle burgers with gluten free buns. The nachos said they were for 2 but I think 4 people could share these. The burgers were tasty and well cooked. We did have to wait for someone to ask us if we wanted our bill but it was busy as I said before. The deserts looked amazing but we were too full so may go back just for the ice cream Sunday. Overall it was lovely looking out over the water on a hot sunny evening. Well worth a visit. Update 15th April 2022. We've now been here 3 more times and it's a lovely place. Twice for fanatic breakfast and one for dinner. Great service and friendly staff.

Came for a Sunday lunch with the girlfriend and we were greeted with smiles and warm welcome Biggest highlight of the whole experience was our server Tom He was fantastic he was chatty, polite took an interest in our weekend and stuck around for a chat!! Try the cider on tap because it’s nice and spot on. Parking is nearby - you can park in car park for 3 hours free. Just display ticket in window from machine.

It's a nice place and the food is a reasonable standard. The locations is great and you can look over the river at the boats. But the prices...! I understand this is the south and things are pricier down here but every time I look at the menu I'm put off just by how expensive everything is. I'd come here much more often if things were a bit cheaper. But the place certainly has a bit of hustle and bustle so I don't feel this review will make them knock prices down much!

I had the Pork belly with Dauphinoise potato and kale special last night. Absolutely delicious! The pork was perfectly cooked. The crackling around the edge was not too hard, not too soft. The stock was really delicious. The Dauphinoise was exceptionally good. It wasn't sloppy, the potatoes did not slide off of each other into a pool of cream. It held its form and delivered great flavour to really compliment the meal. The chefs at Port Hamble are continually pushing the boat out and their passion for making great specials is evident. Thanks guys!

We recently had a lovely experience at Banana Wharf, Hamble. I had booked this restaurant for my husband's 50th birthday. Very family friendly, kids loved the pizzas, my son thought the pizzas tasted better than Pizza Express!. The staff were friendly and accommodated our dietary requirements. The food was delicious and good portion sizes, very fresh. The setting is lovely overlooking the port, we would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had dinner here, starting with delicious cocktails. Our squid starter was delicious and cooked perfectly. We then had specials, sea bass which my wife said was yummy, and a massive bowl of mussels in a cider sauce with ham hock and bread, also good. The service was friendly and pretty efficient. The restaurant sits over looking the boats in the marina and the car park. Overall good food but a bit expensive (£80 for 2).

Lovely welcome from one of the more regularly known staff members. Greeted us to a table in their newly designed areas. The food was lovely and great atmosphere, but one young lady who was working, told us at the beginning we had basically an hour to eat then when we also asked for the desert menu she persisted to tell us that we only had 20mins till we had to leave as the table was booked. This is not acceptable, we should of been offered to move tables at least. We didn't order desert as we felt like we couldn't.

I seem to be addicted to the hotdogs and garlic bread, order it every time I visit. Last time I was there was my birthday and had a lovely time. Me and friends all enjoyed our meals and were served quickly by friendly staff. Do think you should be clearer about the added service charge though (which they will remove if you ask). Other than that, awesome place and well worth the money.

UPDATE: I *love* to see a local business take reviews seriously and make a real effort to improve. I was eventually contacted by the head-office. I also did another surprise visit for a business lunch. I have to say it was a totally different experience! I recognized a lot of the faces, but the service was spot-on! Food was still amazing, really well done turning this around in such a short time! Previous review (1-star): The food was brilliant, the view was lovely, the total and complete lack of anything resembling service totally ruined it. Two courses without cutlery, drink orders needing to be placed 4-5 times per round, sides missing, no table checks, staff basically having a private party inside rather than serving customers. Complained already to head-office, seems they don't really care either. I guess that's what Banana Warf is - good food, no service, and don't care.

Great location, nice that they have added heaters and large umbrellas to the outside decking areas. Did have a few blankets but were not offered, had to be asked for. Food was OK but a little expensive for portions size. Biggest concern was that the manager removed his mask to talk to people, getting too close to the customers whilst talking. Also touched a small baby on the face. Our waitress was lovely but restrictions not really adhered too by many of the staff. Would possibly return for drinks but not for food. Which is a shame as such a lovely location.

This is a very nice and pleasant restaurant which is situated right next to the main marina at Hamble. As such it affords great views of the River Hamble and its busy water traffic which provides a great background for your dining experience.

The main issues being food was okay but whoa very very pricey. Assuming you’re paying for the view which goes without saying is excellent. We went twice to Banana Wharf for the first two nights after lockdown. Both times the staff were lovely, though clearly a bit overwhelmed - totally understandable and I’m sure as things settle down normal speed will resume. Special mention to the front of house staff on our first night who were a hoot and made it even nicer. The menu is great and good value - we particularly enjoyed the specials. Outside seating for this phase of COVID is good if you manage to score a heater, and obviously pretty cold if not - the staff have provided blankets to help as best they can which is appreciated. Our young sons were made super welcome and enjoyed everything. Beer selection could be improved with a few more local/craft beers on draft. Plenty of options if you’re a wine or cocktail drinker.

I have been here a couple of times now and I really like it. I'm shielding and immune compromised so I sit outside. I like the cleaning system that's in place using large pebbles to signifi which tables need cleaning (Large red dot) and those that have been cleaned (large yellow dot with a table number.) The staff are very well trained and professional. The staff are also genuinely kind and clearly care about doing a good job which is very rare in hospitality these days usually because of lack of training and/or poor guest to staff ratio. Not so here. Very well done to the management and owner. The young lady who looked after me this evening was brilliant. I had the Thai Green curry with prawns. It had lots of fresh veg ingredients. Tasty sauce and properly cooked and seasoned rice. The waffle with dairy free cream icecream pomegranate seeds and blueberries was amazing. Definitely worth the calories. Nourishment as well as bliss. Thank you Banana Wharf Hamble.

19 September 2016, 3 Diners for lunch. Excellent venue adjacent to Hamble River. Seated upon the external deck with wonderful views of many vessels moored in the adjacent marina. The staff were amazing and escorted us to a table of our choice, extensive drinks menu to complement the mouth watering choices upon the food menu. 3 very happy diners, great food and sweets (puddings ) to die for. Highly recommend this venue. 16 October 2016 returned for second astonishing visit, this time four of us, again fabulous food, great service and very enjoyable. Highlight of my UK visit.

Suprisingly quiet today which I have never seen befor. A mid priced restaurant overlooking the boats. A chance for a meal and a walk as car parking is restricted to 3 hours free. Dont forget to get a ticket. Hamble is close by for further extensions of a walk. Banana Wharf reasonable food and beer
