We just went in for milkshakes so the rating is based on the milkshake alone. It was an incredible milkshake like the one you would get in a real American Diner in the US. The thickness and flavor were superb. Not many places in the UK manage to serve a milkshake like this, in fact, only three counting Ed's itself (among the ones I have tried). Just superb. Little tip, try the mixed flavors of chocolate and peanut butter, best combination ever.

An American themed restaurant, makes me think I'm staring in Happy Days. There is a good menu choice and a plant based section which is ok. The service was friendly I was told I may need to wait 10 minutes before they served me, that was ok and they did come over way before the 10 minutes. food arrived quickly.

Dining in for lunch with my family yesterday and the food was great. I personally recommend the Nashville Chicken burger but there are a few options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The service was incredible and staff were very accommodating to some of the fussy eaters in our party, adapting items to preferred tastes. When a fire alarm went off in the shopping centre and people began to be evacuated, we were concerned as the restaurant is on the fourth floor of West Quay. However the staff ensured that our party, with a wheelchair user, were promptly taken to safety by a member of staff. I cannot recommend the restaurant enough, we had eaten there twice before this and loved our food but I wanted to write this review to shout out the amazing team and exceptional customer service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great service, and food. Managed to cope well with what I assume was being understaffed. Only 2 servers, but they worked their socks off, and kept us updated on waiting times to be seated. Once seated we were tended to promptly and courteously. If you decide to get the spicy hot dog, it is quite hot. And, personally, I'd not go with the vegan hot dog: the texture was pretty weird. Definitely grab a milkshake or three. Really yummy. Enjoyed the Oreo one very much!

Was seated promptly and food was pretty good. Only complaint is that the staff aren’t very attentive. We were never asked if the food was okay or if we wanted dessert and felt like they were avoiding our eye contact when we wanted to get a drink refill.

The best American diner I have ever been to! I was hosted by a tall blonde male which, unfortunately I didn’t receive his name. However, he was the most attentive waiter I had ever met! The food that was suggested by this waiter was impeccable. Even though (the venue being in the top of WestQuay, which I usually do not enjoy) I received, the upmost incredible service I have ever enjoyed. My usual tipple bodes with Red Dog Saloon, all with the comparison being that o enjoyed this 10x over! Hats off to all the staff and management staff that pursue this service and quality of food, I certainly will be returning 👌

Stopped here for some grub on a date. Had seen this place before but never actually went there until recently. It's an American style diner if it wasn't obvious enough. Visually Ed's Diner is brilliant and fits right in with the whole 80s American Diner aesthetic. Great music choices too. The prices are reasonable and their menu has some interesting options. Whether it be a full breakfast or dirty burgers and dirty fries. My date ordered Ed's Big Breakfast, upon arrival the toast was more than slightly burnt but she didn't mind it. I ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger which was nice but felt the burger had too many tomatoes as it made parts of the burger a soggy mess. In terms of taste it was quite nice. I also ordered cheese and bacon dirty fries which were nice although the fries themselves felt a bit on the cheap side, that being said it was still enjoyable. Ed's Diner is a good place. Staff are friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Would I recommend it? Yeah, it's worth a shot especially if you haven't been there before. However I'm usually very particular when it comes to my American style burger joints and there's one which I'll always prefer above all else (which I won't mention as this is a review for Ed's Diner.) Overall, friendly staff, short wait times, great aesthetic, good menu options, give Ed's Diner a go!

Dined on Saturday 7th, Molly was our server and she was friendly, funny and helpful with my son when he wasn’t sure what he wanted even though she was busy. Unfortunately they were out of quite a bit but did let us know when we sat down. All in all great service, food and atmosphere. Would definitely come again with my 13-year old who hasn’t stopped talking about the “Mud Pie” milkshake!

Ordered for delivery, was expecting very good quality and presentation of food but have to say it’s very average. Ed’s come on you have to do much much better, the price of each item is too much for what we actually get, also the way food was packed was not very nice, foil wrapped. Burgers were not even labelled, one has to guess and open each one to see. Fries were not properly cooked and way too salty, the cost of fries was overly priced. Maybe food served at the restaurant is better, I don’t know.

I've always loved the nostalgic ambience and classic American menu of Ed's Easy Diner, but since becoming vegetarian it's been a much more limited experience for me from a food point of view. That said, their Moving Mountains vegan Hot Dog is pretty amazing and meant I could finally have my first Ed's hot dog in years - and their Vegan Southern Fried Tenders (either in or out of a burger) are also a good option. The only issue I really have with this particular Ed's is that you can sometimes be sat too close to the hustle and bustle of the West Quay Shopping Centre, which ruins the restaurant's ambience. If you can get yourself seated at the back of the restaurant, it makes all the difference.

I was hesitant to try here again after a bad experience when it opened several years ago, but it was much better this time around! I'm also not a fan of brioche buns usually, but actually enjoyed the burger and the waffle fries were so good. Service was great. My only suggestion would be to offer smaller milkshakes. Also, the link on the receipt to provide feedback to get a free shake doesn't work (see pic).

Went here for lunch with my partner. Wasn't particularly busy so we were seated very quickly. Food order was taken within about 10 minutes. I was a bit particular about my order and was absolutely chuffed when my hot dog came out and the chef had taken the time to divide my dinner up into little pots so I could make up my meal as I preferred. Really appreciated the effort the staff put into making sure my order was edible, as I had picked something that needed a few bits taken off, the whole idea of putting into little pots for me so I could choose what I put on my dinner and what to leave really impressed us so thank you so much for personalizing my meal, it went a long way with us and we will definitely come back to visit again. Nothing special here, but that sounds a little misleading. If you are looking for a classic American-style taste for your meal out then you don't need to look any further. I've been here several times now and am yet to be disappointed. This isn't a particularly adventurous cuisine, but that doesn't mean anything if it is what you fancy. Good burgers, great fries, and some killer shakes all for a reasonable price.

While I take into consideration it is post COVID 19 and also last week of eat out to help out I have to say that the quality of the food was poor. I ordered a Caesar salad which when it came out was a dish of what looked like prepackaged shredded iceberg lettuce, swamped in Caesar sauce with a tomato cut in quarters! I could not eat the salad and the only saving grace were the fries and milkshakes. This was a pre birthday treat for my daughter and the three of us who ate out all left elements of our meal and were left disappointed. Thankfully as part of the eat out scheme the bill was somewhat reduced, I would not have felt happy to pay full price for what we were supplied. 😔

I love the style, good service and prices. Great how they offer takeaway and eat-in is a nice 'American Dining' experience. The food and milkshakes are awesome, prefer going here than McDonald's. This is a fun and cheerful place to grab a bite of good ol' American food. They make great hot food and the staff serve with a smile like how you would expect at an American restaurant. Ambiance is almost on point if only the tables had the working mini jute boxes. They also serve fantastic shakes that are nice and thick and delicious! If you are feeling very hungry you can always make your main a "Ed's plate" and you'll not only get the Dog or burger but you'll also get onion rings that are super hot and crisp, lovely American style chips (fries for the Americans out there) and a nice pallet cleanser of coleslaw. It's family friendly and a pleasure to be at.

We went to Ed's Easy Diner before our theatre show. The food was excellent prices quite competitive. The thing I thought was outstanding was we were asked if we had any allergies. Other people came in who did have allergies, they were asked what they were, they conferred with the chef. The meal was changed to accommodate the allergies. Excellent.

It was ok. Nothing like it used to be a few years ago... 1 major thing tho is that staff need to stop standing behind the counter chatting to eachother instead of helping their customers. Hubby ordered a bottomless coffee and had to go and find them himself for a refill as nobody was around to ask. Then we had to go and find them again when we were ready for the bill! Nobody asked how our meal was or anything. No customer service at all!

As literally there is one cubicle for male and female, like today, where it was busy. It could be quite a wait to use the facilities.

OMG I love Ed's!!!!! Customer services are so nice and professional, I been there 2 times with my family, I wasn't disappointed at all!!Foods are amazing, drinks are nice and service was amazing too. Also one more thing. I work in customer service too so I am also very picky when its comes to me to go out and eat somewhere else. The first time me and my son visited Ed's for lunch. I seen a guy who literally washed his hands after every order. I felt so comfortable and safe there, our food and drinks was really looked after. Glasses were clean etc. Really loved it. It's a fairly standard examples of it's franchise, and "Americana" restaurants at large. Decent food, at reasonable prices, and relative convenience. What sets this place apart, though, is the service. No matter what time of day - breakfast, lunch or dinner - the waiting staff have been exceptional. Attentive, but not pushy, friendly but not overbearing. Just top drawer stuff. Oh, and check out the bottomless breakfast menu!

Great burgers and friendly service. Make sure you sign up for “Ed’s Club” for money off vouchers. The waiter who was running the restaurant on his own; was clearly rushed off his feet, but was still keeping an eye on all the tables as he was bringing us refills without us having to ask.

Semi authentic American diner experience. My burger pattie was actually very tasty and made the rest of the meal very enjoyable. I also had the peanut butter shake, wow what a combination that is. Only let down by the wait for service, overall though enjoyable evening meal experience.

I was very disappointed with my first visit to Ed's Diner. They didn't have several things on the menu, juke boxes on the walls didn't work despite swallowing change and the seats were very stained. My Pepsi came out flat so had to ask for a new one and the portions were tiny for an "American" diner and especially for the price.

So that's what the 50% off was for but when got Bill I mentioned it looked wrong he began to argue to say it's not so we paid and I done my own investigating and I was right told the server again who is also the manager and he knew it was wrong as it came up the same as me and began to say his maths must be wrong as we rely on the computers #the till as I said can't always trust the computers so I asked for a refund and he began to make excuses so I said what about a voucher he gave me a so I thought milkshake vouchers but as i realised when I got home was a free milkshake survey card so wasn't a voucher so I am furious!!
