Gaff Rigger experience was very nice. They have several nice seating options - outdoors, on the deck overlooking the marina, conservatory (play area for kids with Lego blocks), bar, outdoors and another restaurant enclosure - so lots of choice. And the food and drinks were nice, they have the usual pub fare, but always offer a couple of special menu items. Among nibbles, highly recommend tempura prawns with wasabi.

Sometimes marina based restaurants are nothing but an overpriced disappointment. The Gaff Rigger is a notable exception. Mercury is our home berth and we regularly visit the restaurant both for snacks/drinks and full meals. The quality of food is excellent and pretty consistent. The menu can be a bit limited but there is always something tasty to be found. Oh and the service is first rate!

An enjoyable bar/restaurant in the Mercury marina. We've eaten there often and never been disappointed. Service has always been good and the food is pretty reliable. The regular menu is fairly standard "Pub Grub" and they often have at least one more exotic special.

Ate there for the first time today and will definitely be going back. The food was fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend the fish taco's and crab ciabatta. Not sure the other person calling it standard "pub grub" is talking about the same place. I don't think I've ever seen Fish Taco's or Lobster Linguini on a Green King or Weatherspoons menu!

First time we've had a roast here and we weren't disappointed! My roast beef was perfect! Along with the roast pork and the mussels. Always enjoy visiting this hidden gem! The staff are always friendly and welcoming and even the Chef came out to check we were happy and had enough which was a lovely touch, yes we were all very happy, so compliments to the chef! See you again soon ;)

A good meal, although the seating is cramped in the restaurant. We were a large group on 3 tables but the rest of the room was empty so we could of been given a bit more space. I'd definitely go again just for the view.

Excellent menu, good quality food. I had the salmon (daily special) my wife had mussels which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely views accross the marina and river. Not the cheapest place for lunch, but given the menu and quality of the food i feel good value. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Will be visiting again when in the area

A restaurant situated in Mercury marina Hamble with some lovely views over the marina & river and there is free parking. The main restaurant being upstairs, where it has a terrace where you can sit & enjoy the sunshine and it also has plenty of outdoor seating downstairs. We visited during the pandemic & the staff were helpful & social distancing was well kept. The food was presented well & delicious 😋 We had a starter, main & it would have been rude not to finish without a dessert! The vegetarian menu is limited, so my partner would have to order the same again if we returned. The prices are competitive & you do have some amazing views but £4 for a pint of coke is a tad steep. Thoroughly recommend it though, good food, lovely place.

Lovely place to relax while waiting to go paddleboarding. They are happy to serve food inside or next to the marina which was great, as my disabled mother would not have managed the stairs up to the restaurant; you need a lift guys! PS. The food was delicious!!

First time visiting, nice and fairly quiet marina with plenty of free parking. Had a pizza which was made and cooked in the pizza oven out front, which is a nice touch. Good selections on the menu and great drinks menu also. Will visit again in the summer for sure.

A very friendly place with excellent food and drink. A nice outlook over the marina and, I would imagine as we were here in winter, a fantastic place to eat in the summer when the evenings are lighter and the view is better.

Taken over from the old Waters Edge, and totally rejuvenate the place. Polite and helpful staff, great food, great beer. Table service to the outside area if you have dogs.. basically they really try to be helpful which is actually a bit rare these days. For us with our boat kept at Mercury it has been a revelation. Highly recommended.

Very nice and modern place. Interesting green house, toys for kids and more. We found this by chance following the "Edge Water Restaurant" signs. So a re-open after The Egde Water Restaurant closed, with new management, staff and amazing food. Amazing meals, view over the marina, enough space, calm background music. Everything one could ask for.

The four of us went for a Sunday Roast and definetly were not disappointed! The beef was lovely and the gravy rich and flavoursome. Staff very attentive and very good with the current COVID rules. I would recommend the Gaff Rigger anytime. 👍

Having been to the sister restaurant they Ketch Rigger in Hamble point marina many times including just recently, we could actively compare the two. We thought in comparison the welcome we received was less friendly, portion sizes quite a bit smaller, and the quality not quite as good. A bit on the pricey side I would say also. On the plus side lovely view over the marina and excellent conservatory, Very good coffee and friendly waiting staff.
