Went for dinner with my mum Friday night. You have the choice to sit in a little resturant and eat or take away. We chose to sit in and its lovely. Surrounded by Saints memorabilia and signed shirts. Food is brought to you quick and the service is friendly. Goodies Fish and Chips is delicious as always. I've done the take away a few times as well and is safe, quick and good. Currently they ask you to wait outside for collection but they are so quick as their service it doesn't matter. 100% recommend. Been going since I was a child.

Delicious chips, I can't comment on the fish as I didn't have any but it looked lovely. The rest of our food was very nice too. The only off putting thing was to find a member of staff moaning about selling sandwiches next week and them being too expensive, then followed up with "You can get a meal deal in Tesco for the same price." Not a great advert for Goodies...

Pea fritters are amazing, and the chips are the best I've had in all my visits to England. I also love the pineapple fritters. My husband loves the battered sausages. The fish is good, too, but what really impressed me was all the other delicious things to have alongside it.

A chip shop I used to frequent when I was a child that somehow still stands and is just as good as I remember. Fantastic chips, well done Savaloy, and great fishcakes. Too far away to get to regularly for me now, but was wonderful to revisit.

The problem with Goodies is that, when they are good, they are very, very good but, when they are less than good they can be horrid. It is all down to who is doing the cooking and, how much fish they cook, then for how long they leave the fish in the hot cabinet. If only they could be more consistent I would never go anywhere else. I would rather wait a few minutes for my food and have a great meal, than be given my food really quickly and have a very ordinary meal. I do hope that the management will read this message. Please do something about your quality as I want to support your business, all the time.

Had Fish n Chips x2 , They only serve One size chips & one size fish so didn’t have to choose between medium or large. (The size served was more than enough) Fish was exceptionally nice not your cheap mushy stuff nice meaty chunks 😊Very clean shop with plenty of free parking. Really nice chips. The portions I find are fair and more than enough. There is a wide selection on the menu. I find the batter is really nice and tends not to be too greasy. In the past the staff found have done with some training in manners but it seems to have improved greatly. The restaurant could do with an upgrade

Absolutely delicious, the chips are the best chip shop chips I have had in years amazing service. The batter was cooked perfect , the cod was fresh and perfectly cooked only thing stopping me given 5 star is that that cod did have skin left on one side which was a shame.

First time there, definitely going back. Friendly staff, eat in or takeaway, good parking (free), reasonably priced. We had cod & chips x2, tasty, fresh fish in a nice, tasty batter. Also, an in-house made fish cake and chips, fresh and delicious, much nicer than the produced ones you normally get. All portions were a good size and the food wasn't over salted. A steady stream of customers which is always a good sign.

We were 50/50 about trying here as some of the reviews are a bit mixed. 7 of us ate in. Yes it’s basic and you order at the till but for £44 we got 4 x adults fish and chips and 3 x children all with drinks. Bargain price. Fish was tasty and the batter was crispy. Chips were perfect. Portion size was good. Highly recommended

Love this fish and chip shop! Walking distance from my husband's place very accessible. Haddock we had was amazing the cod did not disappoint as well. Price is a little higher than most chip shops but the quality of food is excellent. Good for takeways. They also offer on site seating.

When he bought our desserts to the table myself and my partner both said thank you, he just stared at us...then my partner had to ask him if he would kindly remove some of our plates as this lad had no intention of making any room on our table at all. Extremely rude and such a shame as we have used 'goodies' for many years But as usual a very good meal, cooked fresh to order as always Nice food- shame about the staff

I am Coeliac so going to Goodies on their Gluten Free days - 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. - is a real treat. My family agree the GF batter is very good, being lighter and crisper then the regular and they don't charge any extra for it.
