Another place ticked off our list of places to try! I like the theme of the decor, makes you feel like you're away. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Reasonable choice of food on the menu and the portions were a good size, very filling. The flavours of the food were excellent, we all really enjoyed our meals. I would also recommend the classic margaritas, very flavourful! I can't comment on the other flavours, but there were about 5 to choose from. Best Mexican I've had, would recommend visiting if you fancy one 🙂

Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, awesome food! As a family we have lots of dietary requirements and it's often difficult eating out. The waiter was extremely helpful and the menus were easy to understand, so we quickly found plenty of options for everyone. Service was quick, and the food was extremely good! We have not been there for a number of years, but will definitely be back soon. Thanks for a great evening!

Unique Latin style decor. The food is great, it's all pretty rich stuff and with generous portions so you won't leave feeling hungry. Very nice chilled but still professional staff creates a nice atmosphere. Very good value for money in my opinion. Can see this place becoming a favourite!

I was spending the Jubilee weekend in the New Forest when I started craving for Mexican food. I managed to book a table the same night at La Baronia for myself, my wife and my friend. Absolutely fantastic. Great atmosphere, awesome delicious food - it was a brilliant night out. Shout out to Luke who was so helpful and happy. Definitely coming back here (and I live in Kent!).

Amazing Mexican food. Having been to Mexico and Mexican being my favourite food I have to say this is the best Mexican restaurant in Hampshire. Staff are friendly and super helpful. The owner is a really nice lady and will always chat to you when you visit. Will always go back here.

Excellent restaurant, if I could rate it higher I would! There's a great menu with something for everyone. Most of the food is naturally gluten free and there are some vegan options too. The interior of the restaurant is really unique and fitting to the Latin American theme. The food was amazing, would highly recommend and will be returning again. There is indoor and outdoor seating and deals on cocktails. Overall a very positive experience!

Fab place serving authentic Mexican food. Good selection of food & cocktails. Menu in Spanish & English & staff happy to help with ingredients/food content/allergies. A visit here feels like being transported to Mexico or Spain. The theme is consistent throughout & there are lots of pretty decorations to look at. Great artwork outside as well as an outdoor seating area for warmer days. Really enjoyed our visit here & enjoyed chatting with the cheerful staff who were very helpful with the food order & made the cocktails look great! Would visit again!

Good place, quick service and tasty food. The menu includes all Mexican staples, nothing particularly fancy, but they're well prepared. The service we had was also pretty good albeit we were the only clients for lunch. Parking is very limited in the vicinity of the restaurant, I'd recommend to arrive in advance to find a spot.

Small restaurant, not in the smartest play of town, but oh boy. The food. I never knew beans and guac could taste so good!!! Portions are huge too; you don't really need a starter so as new customers OH &I massively overcatered 😂 the lovely waitresses brought if a to go box for the leftovers though so we had lunch the next day. Absolutely lovely staff and brilliant food; did notice that on a Saturday they didn't seem to be able to accommodate walk ins, so I'd recommend booking a table

Great good and great service - a half dozen friends and I went on a weeknight in December. We only saw perhaps two or three other tables occupied. The food was excellent, including "Goldilocks" portions: neither too big not too small. The service was also very good - our only disappointment was no-one spoke Spanish.

Staffing shortages meant we were turned away for food despite the place being half empty. The staff that were there didn't seem too happy either. They also said all tables were booked so we would have to sit outside if we wanted a drink. They cheered up when we returned for drinks later and served us well, but we still had to sit outside even though most of the tables inside were empty all night. I wouldn't have minded waiting for food, so there was something a bit odd about the whole experience. There was nobody there who looked like they were in charge. Perhaps the management need to have a bit of a think about how they're running the place.

Excellent Mexican food with a good value meal deal (3 courses for £20). The Steak and Cheese Burrito is a sight to behold and you will not be hungry after! Very busy during our visit but taking the COVID-19 recommendations very seriously. Would recommend booking in advance as lots of walk-ins were being turned away as there was just no space for them.

Lovely place. I ordered a dish with nachos and shrimp in a white wine sauce and it was absolutely lovely. I'd definitely go back again just for that. The rest of the attendees were also really pleased with their meals. It was a birthday party group of 7 and it took a while to get through the courses. Not a bad thing if you're relaxed but if you've got a babysitter waiting you might need to order staters and mains at the same time to speed things up.

Loved this place! It’s clean with traditional Mexican decor. The food is delicious... it’s fresh and plentiful. I recommend the mole. Great authentic Mexican restaurant. Can't recommend this enough. Me and my partner went on a Friday night, so 2for1 cocktails, and we had the chimichangas to start(which literally came out in seconds) and they were delicious. We had the carnitas and chicken fajitas as mains and both loved it. Good atmosphere, great staff and reasonably priced.

I went there once on my friends birthday. It was completely empty. Staff wasn’t as nice as I expected they weren’t rude but they have not care about anything. Food was okay but it wasn’t anything I would have to go and try again. If you like to try go but you won’t miss out anything if you are not gonna try.

Friends of mine have told me it's the best Mexican food in Southampton. Honestly I thought it was average. The place was also quite smokey and left our clothes smelling, therefore wouldn't advise going here before a night out.

A bit of a hidden gem - staying in central Southampton, it would be easy to settle for one of the more mainstream, franchised restaurants that the city centre has to offer. But you don’t need to stray too far from the beaten track to find La Baronia and you will be well rewarded if you do. The atmosphere was great, staff were friendly and the menu was varied and attractive. Decently priced for both food and drink and the meals were excellent - well cooked, perfectly presented and an exquisite blend of flavour and substance. The food was exactly what we’d hoped for and we had an amazing night. We will definitely be going again with friends, as it feels like the kind of place to have one of those memorable evenings with your nearest and dearest. Thanks for a great evening La Baronia!

The only restaurant we had patiently waited for during Covid! Visited on 11th July with my husband (our 4th visit) and yet again the food was too delicious for words. Probably one of the best places to eat in southampton. Superb authentic Mexican all cooked fresh. The breakfast is a thing of beauty! Also celiac friends have commented that they have never had so much choice. Almost all of the menu is gluten free. Love the atmosphere as well

Went to La Baronia with wife,grown up kids and their partners at the weekend. Despite arriving fairly early the Restaurant was already busy but we were quickly seen, shown to our table and talked through the menu. Drinks were brought very quickly and whilst we waited a little while for the food it all arrived together and was well worth the short wait. Two of our party were Vegetarians and there is a decent selection on menu for them. Everyone enjoyed Starters and Mains and portion sizes are generous. I would personally recommend the corn starter and the Pork main (sorry cant remember the name of the dishes). Can't comment on deserts as all so full after mains that we just had coffee. Will definitely be back!

I've been here twice now and both times I ordered the Beef Enchiladas. On the second occasion, my friends also had the Chicken Fajita and Smoked Chicken Enchiladas. Suffice to say, we were rolling in pleasure as soon as we started eating. The mains came with side (mine was frijoles and rice), but we also ordered the Tortilla Chips. The churros can be mixed quality depending on who makes them, however they're nice and chunky and come with either chocolate or syrup. The portions are very big and so provide excellent value for money. I'd honestly say that this is the best Mexican dining experience I've had! I'd highly recommend it, and the setting is lovely with a cool interior look and inoffensive music. The staff have also always been lovely and were had plenty of banter.
