Visited this lovely little find last night , from the moment we entered the staff could not be more welcoming to us. We sat upstairs in a lovely room at the front of the restaurant, the decor was very fitting. As soon as we sat down a lovely lady called Erin served us , nothing was too much trouble for her , she was very knowledgeable , she is a credit to this restaurant. We could not fault the food at all it was all so tasty . If I was ever near this area again I would love to come back .

The most amazing experience and our best Thai restaurant visit to date! The Mango team were so accommodating of our Hen Party providing a perfect party package with drinks on arrival and two courses. Fantastic service and great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We went for a birthday meal at prime time Saturday night. Obvs had to book a week in advance as popular place be warned... we weren't dissapointed the fayre we werer served was fresh, tasty and authentic Thai cuisine.... although I've never been to Thailand so not entirely sure that it was authentic. Staff incredibly friendly and we loved how they crouched down to be level with the table, instantly making us feel welcome. We asked for 1x Panang curry with very mild spice and 1x normal, as my partner doesn't really deal with spice and they accommodated this perfectly. Extremely recommend, thanks for such a lovely Valentines meal! The secret lover cocktail was fantastic, really enjoyed them. Bravo to the team, especially our waiter (whose name I didn't get unfortunately). Worth every penny and some.

Staff and service was great! Very cosy restaurant. Cocktails were a bit too sweet although still good. Food was too salty for my taste. Not sure whether it was just the dishes we've ordered, but the sauce for the squid was so salty we had to leave some uneaten and everything after just tasted salty.

Whilst visiting Southampton, a friend and I popped into Mangos after seeing the menu and looking for a quick bite to eat. The menu looked particularly appetizing and the well priced cocktails were attractive. We thought about checking out a near by Indian place but the weather was not great so we returned. The restaurant was empty except for a waitress or could have been the owner taking a call. Not a good sign for me if it's empty. The lady smiled and waved us in to take any seats we wanted as long as it has cutlery. We fancied one away from the open windows - without cutlery. As we checked the menu, the lady appeared and said something about I did tell you to sit at a table with cutlery, before moving some to us. Okay... do we bail? Well luckily we didnt. The cocktails were lovely. The Thai tapas were great, nice flavours and the sauces were just right. The deep fried vegetables were a bit tasteless and the fish cakes a bit rubbery but the rest of the meal was great. Overall pretty good. Nice food, nice cocktails. Service a bit odd at first.

The restaurant is only 5-10 minutes walk from the Mayflower theatre and so is a great place to have a pre-show meal and even though we arrived 10 minutes late due to the football traffic we had no problem getting out with plenty of time. I went for 2 tapas - the chicken satay and the hot and sour pork. The satay sauce was excellent - lovely and creamy and thick and the chicken were very good sized pieces but they were a bit dry from being overcooked. The suace with the pork had a lovely chilli kick and went very well with the pork but again I found the pork was dry and overcooked. The house red was good and went well with the chciken & pork. Service was very good and the food arrived very quickly. I did feel that the tables could do with a really good clean as they were slightly sticky. Definitely a place to try again next time we visit the Mayflower.

Been here twice - high quality, attentive service that left me and the boyfriend very satisfied! The staff were incredibly helpful with suggesting tapas options, along with catering to my allergens. Has actual music at a volume you can comfortably converse with too! Would highly recommend for the top quality food, atmosphere, and all around service! Also wheelchair accessible - the toilets require flights of stairs though.

Thai fish cakes were perfectly spongy, fragrant with fresh fish! Lovely! Ribs were falling off the bone in a rich sauce and very generous portion. Pork & prawn dumplings tasted fresh and beautifully steamed and moist in the middle!

We were served by a lovely waitress who I didn't get the name of, but she was working the top floor between 8:45pm-10:30pm on Dec 4th, and she was extremely attentive and welcoming. The man at the front of house was also wonderfully welcoming. I highly recommend eating here.

Definitely still some of the best Thai food available in the city; but not quite as good as the sister restaurant; Mango Portswood Road. Restaurant was clean and service was fast but not rushed. Pricing is modest considering the quality and freshness of the food. For some reason the menu options showing as gluten free options available differs slightly between the restaurants which was a little disappointing for us, as a few options were not available. Impossible to get better food than at Mango for less in the city.

I've heard about this place for years and finally got around to going last week. Easy enough to reserve online, however on arrival it wasn't that busy (Thursday evening) so it wasn't entirely necessary to book. The vibe of the place was nice. Music playing in the background and nice authentic decor. The service was good as well. Seated and served quickly. The cocktails we had were great with a decent bar as well. As for the tapas, it was amazing. The food was great. However, the main (Pad Thai) wasn't to my taste. It was too sweet for my liking, but that's personal preference. All in all, I would visit again and look forward to trying new things off the menu.

I came here for my birthday the weekend just gone, the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. I have have been asked since when we will be going back. They cater for all diners; we had vegans, allergies and sober diners in our group and there was for and cocktails for everyone!

The first time I visited this place I was impressed with the quality of the food. The second time I was less happy. Maybe it was just a bad choice of dish. I ordered deep fried squid with sticky rice and vegs, and was served with no sauce at all, so I found the dish was overall too dry. The deep fried squid was tasty but a bit heavy. I could tell that the squid was fried in oil that was probably used and re-used a number of times. Also in both occasions I went back home and my coat and clothes were very smelly of fried food. It would be great if the owners/managers of this restaurant did something to improve ventilation. Other than that it's a very nice place and the food is higher quality than other Thai restaurants that I have tried in the area.

Good location near the Guildhall Square. Recommend parking in the multi-storey near the Mayflower Theatre / train station. Fantastic choice and very tasty dishes, ranging from tapas dishes to main meals including noodle (chow mein style) and fish dishes. Every dish was well portioned and delicious. Accommodating of GF and Vegan dietary requirements. A couple of cocktails on the menu, very tasty but best enjoyed in happy hour due to price (before 7pm or after 10pm). I absolutely love Mango. It’s by far my favourite place to eat out. But I visited with five friends on the first Saturday of August and although the food was delicious as always, the service really let them down. It was slow and both our drinks and food orders were wrong. The guy serving us didn’t have a clue about the menu and we had to keep asking for drinks that we had already ordered. He seemed rushed off his feet, and although it was busy, it certainly wasn’t at maximum capacity and there did seem to be adequate staff. It won’t put me off going back. But it was a disappointment to their usual high standards.

Came here mid-afternoon on Sunday, and we were the only ones in the place, so had our choice of table. Started with the four for three offer on Thai tapas - Coconut Chicken, Prawn Toast, Crunchy Pork, and Chicken Satay - all cooked to perfection, and each with their own distinct flavours. Our mains were two servings of the Massaman Lamb Curry - one with jasmine rice and one with coconut rice - the first proper Massaman I have tried and it was delicious. Service was excellent, though it would be good to go back when they are busier to see if that makes a difference. I'll definitely be back.

The food at Mango is a hit and miss for me, some dishes are very lovely and some are a little bit disappointing. The "weeping tiger" steak is nice and "Tom Kha" soup is lovely with rich coconut flavour. I do not recommend the prawn on toast or fried rice though.

Good Thai restaurant close to the centre of town. It has a relaxed atmosphere but for me lacks some authenticity. I prefer their Portswood restaurant given the choice. A minor gripe I have with Mangos is with the vegetables - I'd prefer Thai vegetables to the traditional British flavours covered in a Thai sauce.

I never went inside, we had takeaway and I was the designated driver. The place looked inviting from the window of my car though. The food was ready when they said it would be ready and despite the fact I opted for a run of the mill thai green curry it was really good. When ordering thai my penchant is a portion of sticky rice. I like it to be stickier than a toddler's fingers when eating a lollipop and they didn't disappoint. As I was eating it I was concerned it may bond the insides of my small intestine together. Thankfully this didn't happen, but I was left feeling nicely full and very satisfied with my meal. I would definitely go back to try the dine in experience some day.

Great experience, went for Thai tapass and some of the dishes where amazing. Especially the duck rolls, squid and fishcakes. Other dishes where fine but lacks balance so dropping a star. Especially true of the deepfried bacon wrapped muscles which where overly salty could have been lifted by a sweat sauce and maybe cooking in a broth or steamed. Would go again maybe going for a main. Wine selection was reasonable but not special. Beer looked similar. Interesting cocktail menu that will please people with a sweat tooth and people who don't want too much of an alcoholic kick (alcohol still there but the fructose masks it) nothing dry or with a gentle burn on the menu. Of course that can be got with spirits or by requesting off menu cocktails (you are invited to).
