The menu have lots of food varieties that suits almost all tastes from meat/chicken lovers to vegetation lovers and in between too. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Southampton!! My friend and I drove all the way from London this weekend to eat at Melo again after many years of not going since leaving uni. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious. Portions are very generous and the meat is super succulent. We ordered the Koobideh which is 2 skewers of minced lamb meat with rice and garnishings which came to just over £11 per person which I think is excellent value for money. The restaurant is cash only but that’s not really an issue as there is a cash point on the opposite side of the road and takes 2 seconds to get to. Thanks Melo for a lovely Sunday afternoon lunch ☺️

We had today a diner with 6 colleagues. We all have appreciated the quality and richness of the meals and above all the kindness of the 2 servers who looked after us. I went with my family to try Iranian food for the first time and I had a great experience. We ordered mixed grilled for four, portions was huge and so delicious. Rice was so nice and they had a fresh baklava that we ordered after food with tea. Restaurant was very clean and staff was friendly. We will back again to try other dishes.

Was in Southampton for a short while, This place Melo Persian was simply and nicely done up, Shisha was good, friendly staff, good service. Great sitting area outdoor on a sunny day, only inconvenience I have faced was they don’t except card payments, and I only had my phone to pay luckily my brother had his card so just took some money out of cash point. Other than that all good.

Always a friendly service here. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Live music on some evenings. I don’t usually like eating lamb but my Friend strongly recommended me to try their tender baby lamb chops and I loved it! No regrets. Especially enjoyed their Melo tea and sweets as well. Portions are huge so may want to share if you have a small appetite/ not that hungry.

This is not “another Persian” restaurant around the block but one of the best I have ever visited. I went there at late afternoon, parking is free in surrounding streets after 6pm. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and asked if we need a high chair for our little princess :) We ordered the mixed grill for 2 and salad. Salad arrived first, man it was fresh and sweet! Bowl contained olives, cucumber, onions and pomegranate and each bit was fresh! My appetite was already escalated, first gaze at mixed grill took it to another level. The grilled kebab pieces were presented in horizontal layer beautifully, kebab pieces were delicate, tasty and packed with amazing flavour! The decor was a bit dated but don’t get fooled, the food is amazing. This place is perfect for casual dinning and have my recommendations.

Very nice restaurant with a good atmosphere and lovely tradition Persian setting. Food was very delicious and the grilled meat was superb and tender. However, it was a shame that they don't make their own fresh sauces. Instead we were given ketchup, tobasco style pepper sauce which they said was chilli sauce and a shop bought garlic sauce. None were made in store. Other Persian restaurants offer their own made sauces for a true authentic experience. However, that being said, we really enjoyed the food. Thank you for a great delicious grilled meat feast experience.

I recommend for the desert to have the saffron ice cream. Its also really nice if you just come for the tea and shisha. I'm so happy Melo is in my city <3

The shisha is always amazing. The stuff and Owner are always friendly and approachable. I travel all the way from Portsmouth to go and enjoy some shisha there at least two to three times a week on some weeks. The food is also nice. Only one recommendation would be to include some authentic desserts which will make the process better. Amazing service all the time.

We’ve ordered from here twice now. The meat is cooked perfectly and so flavoursome. Food arrives in good time and piping hot. When we ordered today they didn’t have the dessert we requested, we received a call within 5 min of ordering to let us know and ask if we would like anything else. We went with baklava which was just lovely. There was even a little thank you note in the delivery. If every experience is like this we will be ordering from here regularly xx

Delicious Persian cuisine served in big portions, freshly made juices as drinks. Clean restaurant with friendly staff and they have got a little shisha/hookah bar outside the entrance which is yet to be tried out on my next visit. Definitely worth for a visit.

Lovely place to visit if you are looking for a nice Iranian food, had their food a good few times now. Big portion size, they also have student menu available. Ideally it would be great if they can offer some discounts to their regular customers which i am, anyways the owner is nice too.

We went with our three children and they thoroughly enjoyed their dinner, as much as we did. Portions are very generous. The red wine was the only disappointment. We will definitely be back!

Great food, good value. I come here regularly for consistently tasty Iranian food. Any of the grilled meats with saffron rice with butter and grilled tomato are delicious. There are always Iranian diners, so I'm confident it's authentic. Staff are friendly and the place is clean. They also have an outdoor seating area for shisha.
