Visited this place on our trip to Southampton. We had ordered chilli Gobi 65, ghee roast and masala Dosa. We only liked the ghee road. The chilli Gobi 65 seemed to have artificial colour added in it and would not recommend. The Masala Dosa was average I did not find the masala in the masala Dosa very flavourful. The waiting staff seemed lost at times.

The restaurant has a nice layout and the staff are very friendly and happy to help! The food is very nice and traditional, with a lot of different dishes available. Although not the best traditional Indian cuisine I've had. I found the value for money was reasonably good. It would have been a 4 Star review, however, I found the conditions of the male toilets awful. Probably one of the worst restaurant toilets I've had to use in a while.

A beautiful Indian culture filled with one of the best staffs I've ever met. They were so friendly and caring that even we forgot to realise that we spent a lot of time here. I had that tasty rice which was awesome. No over oil in any foods. Best in class foods, moderately priced as per the superior quality. Overall had an amazing experience with original South Indian food, simple ambience and friendly staff. Must try 10/10.

This place is great. Excellent food. Menu is extensive. Staffs are also really friendly and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Cocktails prices 100% worth it. Wines are limited but lovely selections. Highly recommended.

Wonderful food. We had ordered chicken lollipop and mushroom manchurian, not much of a difference though but both were brilliant. Keeping it crispy even after adding the manchrian sauce is definitely a good chef skills. Rava masala dosa was not too bad though. Getting served with a extra free chutney when asked for is not something you see everywhere. Definitely would like to recommend this place for proper south indian dishes

Wow 🤩 What a lovely food. We thought it is gonna be a fast food like as in London but myself coming from food industry background can definitely say food was fresh prepared. Definitely worth coming here. Next visit to Southampton this is on our checklist too.

This is located on the prime location. Although the name suggests that it's a south Indian restaurant, it has north Indian food as well. In addition, it has bar 🍸 The food is just normal, not so delicious and authentic. It should also upgrade its toilet facilities as it looks dated.

Very delicious and traditional Indian foods. Spicy and tasty by all means. The waiters were good, ambiance was alright, and the prices are affordable. So yeah, go there to try South Indian dishes in the very heart of the city. Parking seems challenging and isn’t free on the road outside so put that on top of the prices you’d pay at the restaurant. Other than that it’s a very good place and definitely recommended. I guess it’s the only great place that is opened before 5 pm and serves Indian. Attached some photos of their delicious Lamb Dosa. Food is pretty good, no doubt and very good portions. But last 3 times I have been here, its absolute chaos in here, the staff got most of the orders wrong, drinks wrong, served non veg when asked for a veg dish, cancelled a takeaway order which was ordered 1 hour prior to collection. Not good management. Need to sort your staff out!

Recently relocated to the UK. Though I have less spice tolerance (oh yeah, being Indian and people like me do exist 😜), there was some craving to have real Indian decently spicy food, so while taking a look around the city, found Mint Dosa and thought to give it a try. I ordered a onion masala rawa dosa. 1. Good size and quantity (I eat a good amount of food) 2. You get Indian flavour of spices with decently flavoured/mixed with them. 3. Friendly staff. I can go there again.

Best Indian food we've ever had. We asked the waiter for recommendations and he was happy to help. The place looks like it could do with a little love in areas but the food is really excellent. We had dosa for the first time and it was so good! Go, you'll love it.

As close to authentic South Indian tasting food in Southampton ( except the poppadoms which seem to be from a supermarket). One tends to be immersed in the taste during the meal and could be caught short by the bill disproportionate to expectations at the end of it - do ask for the possible NHS / Student discount. No egg based dishes which is rather unusual . Open till late and in a convenient central location - no parking though.

If you have never tried a Dosa or South Indian food then this place is not bad. It’s not great but it’s also not bad. There is a good selection of drinks, deserts both veg & non veg (meat) options and main dishes. The service is average if you go inside for table service , and if you order a takeaway via one of the apps then the service charge and bag charge on top of the delivery charge ( £5 ) just to have it delivered - this really feels like an overcharge £ which I wasn’t expecting and I haven’t seen other restaurants doing this but maybe they are?! Nice enough Inside decor and ambiance. The staff are friendly and I found them helpful. Taste and food quality is a bit hit and miss. It’s quite expensive / overpriced for what you get overall which gives Mint Dosa a 3 stars from me. I’ve rated this on a few visits both eating in and via home delivery’s . If your in the mood for a Dosa then Mint Dosa is a decent option. I would continue to order from here although I would like to see slightly reduced prices or better meal deal options / plater options.

Love Mint Dosa! The food is awesome. I have a suggestion to the management. Please clean the bathrooms better. The only thing I hate about the place is visiting the washroom. The doors, sink etc are so dirty. No proper dryer, no hot water and extremely small.

This review is about new management in 2022. Food is excellent, A lot of new options has been added in Menu, which includes Indo-Chinese , South Indian, North Indian. Food is awesome, Likewise new staff is great and customer oriented. Though few food items are much more spicer now which is bit of concern with kids. Dosa is as usual great authentic taste. Please introduce chat items as well to make it complete authentic cuisine.

Food was ok, but the ordered food arrived in a random order. I am disappointed for the fact that one poor girl was the only staff on the floor, for taking order, serving food, making drinks, billing, cash collection etc. There could have been more staff to attend the customers at the table. I have been to this place many times and tried several forms of dosas, chicken dishes that are served there. All of the dishes are excellent and chicken masala dosa is a speciality of this restaurant. The staff are helpful and welcoming. The eating area has been refurbished recently. I went to collect my order yesterday afternoon. I was a bit confused about the pickup place, but the staff was very kind in the phone and helped me find the restaurant. They even brought my order down to the street where I was (accidentally) waiting. Cons: - the food was a tiny bit too oily for my taste - there were no cutleries put into my take-away bag (which was quite unfortunate because I only realized it when I was already at the beach picnicking hehe) PROS: - I got response really fast through social media in advance - the stuff was very friendly - the food was absolutely fantastic. Very delicious!!! I'll visit again very soon! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Dosa is very good. The best in Southampton in my opinion and the North Indian food isn't too bad either. Only problem for me was that the tandoori roti was too thick and that made it hard to eat. I would also recommend the restaurant to sell their dosa batter in liquid form since they make the best dosas in the city.

The food Is genuinely Indian food. Even if you can’t tell from tasting the food, the fact that most of the happy clients were Indian is a good sign. The staff is friendly and most helpful in case of doubts. There is a buffet corner and the also do take away but they don’t deliver so you need to collect yourself. The restaurant is on a 1st floor with no lift and the dining room decoration is good enough but nothing special but if you are a lover of Indian food, this restaurant is a good choice.

Been waiting a long time for something different like south Indian cuisine. Did not disappoint. Simple decor, good service and friendly but most importantly fresh food and home cooked flavours. My first impression of Namaste Indus was the cleanliness of the place. On entering the restaurant itself I was impressed by the ambience, with subtle lighting and fresh decor. The staff were warm, courteous and attentive without being too intrusive, and obviously very enthusiastic about their cuisine. This restaurant specialises in authentic Indian cuisine which I found to be delightful, with subtle aromas and flavours, very different from the full on overly strong tastes I'd experienced in other Indian restaurants. The menu changes daily, with food from differing parts of India on different days allowing the diner the experience some very specialised and unusual food. The lunchtime buffet is really excellent value. Overall I found the experience to be a delight, I have since returned several times. Throroughly recommended.

Very good weekend breakfast and lunch buffet deals. I'd love to give them 5 stars but the problem is they're inconsistent in 2 things - staff efficiency and food preparation. Sometimes they're perfectly upto their standards and exceeds your expectation and sometimes they can be appalling or just disappointing. The Chennai Dosa of Birmingham Dudley branch is the best in the whole of UK, according to me and my hubby.

Chennai Dosa is very authentic south Indian food. For lunch there was an option for buffet food which works out cheaper if you are really hungry, has good variety of veg, starter, Oothappam and rice, Biryani etc. We were a picky group and opted for Dosas and Kothu Parottas, all tasted awesome.
