I have been a regular customer at New Forest Bistro for well over a year, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Not only are the portion sizes absolutely huge and reasonably priced, the quality of the food is absolutely fantastic. My personal favourites from the menu are their doner meat (as good as any I have had from any kebab house) and a simple dish of cod and chips. A large cod from the Bistro is an impressive sight but more importantly, it always tastes exactly as it should do. Even someone with a large appetite like mine can barely manage to finish a large portion of chips! The staff are all extremely friendly and professional, whether ordering via phone or going into the restaurant in person. The delivery drivers also never seem rushed and always take the time to exchange greetings & thank you for your custom. The only slight drawback for some people might be the closing time of 10pm, but bearing in mind the early opening time, this is more than understandable. Overall, all I can say is well done, keep up the brilliant work and thank you for the lovely food!

Super fish and chips We stopped in here randomly on a journey to feed a hungry family. We were very happy - the fish & chips were really good. Nice big portions, good quality fish, tasty sauces (I particularly the curry sauce) and lovely grilled fish. Plenty of social distancing without being oppressive. For visitors, it’s a only short drive to the coast if you want to eat with the seagulls. Very recommended - will visit again next time we are in the area

Not sure about the atmosphere as I've only had take away from them but they are very polite on the phone and the food is truly bloody lovely. I shall keep using them myself as I couldn't be any happier with their service or food and the price is very reasonable too 😁.

I've used several times through lockdowns, getting fish&chips and kebabs to take down to the beach. Visited recently on way back from a beach afternoon and the eat in section is now reopened. Lovely food, freshly prepared for either takeaway or to eat in.

Lovely huge cod & chips with curry sauce and chicken kebab with salad. Freshly made and delivered delivered quickly. Accepts debit card payments too. Would order again in the future.

The best place in town in my opinion as tourist . They made everything from scratch they said 10min was 10min and the food came out hot , large portions and honestly nothing to comment on that . The only downside for me was you couldn't dine in even though Google / outside signs says either take away or dine in but could be something short period due to Covid-19 or long issue :-) unknown the mystery. P.S. one of the best fish and chips + lovely people .

Stopped here on our way back from seeing the Disney Cruise ship pass by Calshot. The best fish and chips we have had in a very long time. Delicious, hot and not at all greasy. I have never seen our girls eat so much of a meal!! Fabulous and would highly recommend.

First time using last week. Placed order and was told it'll take 10 minutes. My burger was super greasy, and it ruined the taste. The girlfriends battered sausage was just about cooked the batter was soft and no crunch at all the same with her mums fish. Plus the outside benches outside were covered in rubbish from previous customers

Despite the name this place is really good. I thought the menu too large, yet they execute everything on it perfectly. I have never had a single problem, its clean and fairly priced. There is a lot of competition in a small space. But this place wins out for me. Will be even better when you can go sit down in there again

This is ok but I would advise that you don't order there pastries and go careful with the steak& kidney pies because we tried to cut the Cornish pasties with a normal knife and that wouldn't cut through the pastie in the end we only had the food in the middle of the pastie. There steak and kidney pie was cold instead of hot .

In my opinion the New Forest Bistro is the best Bistro in the Waterside area. Food standards are high and the portions are generous. If you do end up dining or ordering make sure to get yourself one of the delicious milkshakes they provide all year round. Downsides, although the prices for the food are extremely cost effective compared to what many other local establishments charge. the serving sizes of mostly the chips have decreased over the last year from what you previously got.

Go past the door most days and had never been in as I only live half a mile away. On this day I had been here there and everywhere getting things ready for vacation. I came out of post office next door and virtually hovered in through the door to the smell of the bacon. I shall use it regularly now. All day breakfast in three sizes with a drink and toast a fiver plus a couple of pence. It was lovely as was the guy who served me at the counter and the waitress who looked after me at the table.

I like a quick bite here around commute time for a early dinner on my way home. Staff are friendly and serve you from a informal and inexpensive restaurant at the side of the shop. I can sit inside off the street in good seating areas and access to loes. You can see through the kitchen area and the clenliness shines throughout this bisy takeaway. I can park up with any High top works Van or Flatbed in their car park out back, they always ready to serve you as you walk in the door.
