Reviews of Red Dog Saloon

1st time going to Red Dog Saloon. Went for date night to try a restaurant we hadn't been to before. The food was amazing. Staff asked how you wanted your burgers cooked. There is no meal options so you have to purchase items separately. Staff were friendly & helpful. Didn't feel rushed. The atmosphere was great. Loved the feel of the restaurant. One thing I would say though is the music was very loud. We visited on a Sunday evening, not too busy which was great. I struggled to hear my husband sometimes with the music level. But absolutely loved the food. I ordered the peanut butter burger & was not disappointed. Was very happy with the amount of fries you get as a side order & the onion rings were perfectly cooked. I just think £60 for 2 burgers, 2 fries & onion rings is a little pricey. There is a 10% service charge added no matter what size party you are. Other places only add this if you are a party of say 6 or more. There was 2 of us, thought that was a little cheeky. But cannot fault the food & service. Just don't know if we'd go back. Other places do similar food at a better price. But we had a great date night.

Loved this place!! Booked a table which was definitely a good idea as a busy place! Our server was great - very helpful gave great suggestions and recommendations. Service was fantastic. Ordered the burger with bacon, black pudding and peanut butter - a new combination but so delicious- highly recommend and will be trying again! Cocktails were yummy too.
P. J.
The burgers were great, and the chicken was very decent. The mac and cheese was very disappointing and runny so our server changed it for the mozzarella sticks which were amazing! Great service and decent food.
D. T.
Incredible food! The meat plate will be more than you can handle, but definitely something to try at least once. The wings were delicious and so we the burgers. Service was quick and everyone was really friendly.
L. S.
Really friendly staff, helped with choosing the menu. Couldn't go wrong with your choice. Deep fried pickles are mandatory lol the cheese fries were also another level.

Kinda a rough start with service, but many thanks to Suzanna she came to our rescue and made everything right. Food was very tasty. I had the quad smash burger and my wife the brisket sandwich, both very tasty

So, on arriving at the door our party was "greeted" at the door by Massimo. Literally on walking up he said to us, I'm sorry we have no tables available and it's a 40 minute wait until one becomes open. We proceed to tell him we had reservations and that is when he brought us to our table. (Aren't we supposed to be greeted with "good evening, do you have a reservation?" If we don't then you tell us about the wait and if we do then to our table.) That immediately turned us off. On being seated we noticed a couple that was led to the bar and shortly after when a table opened up he led them to the table. Why was our group going to be turned away without even a proper greeting because "there were no more tables" but this couple could be seated at the bar to wait until a table opened up?
Anyway our server was a wonderful lad. Our entrees were so good. We had the nachos and the chicken tenders which were cooked beautifully. They were a hit at our table as we ended up ordering two servings. The chicken breasts were so big and juicy with a perfectly golden fried outside. Best tenders I've had in the UK. The nachos was mouth watering, beef perfectly tender and well seasoned. Our burgers were great as well even though we wanted the carnivore platter. (We were told the smoker stopped working overnight).
The only problem we had foodwise was the mac and cheese which we were told before ordering that it would be baked, but was absolutely NOT. It was just boiled pasta dunked into the cheese sauce. Never have I had mac and cheese so watery. That was a no-go.
Overall I would recommend and go again as long as it isn't Massimo at the door. He is horrible.

Absolutely lovely.. booked table at 1, staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and plentiful. Love it love it love it!
A very tiny issue was three out of four ladies loos were closed. Spoke to member of staff who said plumber has been called..
Thank-you red dog saloon four very happy still stuffed customers! Will definitely be returning xx

Food was incredible, the cocktails were great. But the highlight was the service. We were served by a young man called Jacob who told us it was his 2nd day.We were absolutely shocked to hear this.He was absolutely brilliant. I thought he had worked there for years. He knew the gluten free options off by heart and he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy at all times. 100% coming back next time. Hopefully to be served again by Jacob. 😃

Loved it! Fantastic burgers and an all American feel with the decor great staff and great drinks! The fries with cheese and caramelized onion was to die for lol 🙏😛 The lunchtime meal deals also great for value 😋
S. N.
Food is really run. Huge portions though so can probably share starters and fries. Our whole table ended up taking doggy bags home! The shakes are good but a meal in themselves! I go here a lot just for espresso martinis as they're real good and open late
S. H.
Not great not awful. Service was okay, our waitress could only be described as 'absent'. Two items were dropped and smashed by staff during our visit, clearly need to give their clumsy heads a wobble! Very American, deep south decor and atmosphere. But...What a grease fest! My 'hickory smoked' chicken wings were mostly plain and soaked in a puddle of enough oil to fry a dozen ostrich eggs. Nice burger and generous portion of chips but unfortunately also dripping in an unworldy amount of oil...free lipgloss though I guess. The floor was dusty and needed a sweep, music a little too loud. Prices are just touching the higher side, pushing it a bit for what you get. I struggled at times to differentiate between staff and the general public so a uniform wouldn't go a miss. I can imagine Gordon Ramsay giving this place a grilling and making the staff cry

Visited tonight for a catch up with a business client.
Positives :
Good menu
Nice food
Easy to find
Negs:
Waiter kept trying to up sell and wouldn’t stop maybe lacked training or over keen
The whole place just lacked atmosphere very odd.
A few dishes off
waitress slammed our drinks down on our table as if she didn’t want to be there.
I heard so much great things about this place in summary nice food but awful vibe and pretty disappointing.
Better cheap options available
M.
Straight 5 stars. If you like your bbq food then this place is like heaven. You need to visit here. Meat is melt in your mouth and staff are great.

We went to Red Dog Saloon for the first time on our daughter's 3rd birthday. It was quite a busy Saturday lunchtime, but there were plenty of staff who were all really friendly and attentive. Our daughter spilt her apple juice as soon as it was set down on the table, but they cleaned it up quickly and gave her a new one without charge.
We asked if we could have an ice cream with a candle (which we'd pay extra for); the lovely waiter seemed very happy to oblige and asked her name. Later, he and several staff brought it over and sang Happy Birthday, which we weren't expecting! They had also included a complimentary chocolate brownie which was a kind and thoughtful touch. We enjoyed the food too, but it was the service that really made it a special experience.
D. E.
Great food. Good beer and a chilled atmosphere. Very friendly service. Would recommend.
J. R.
Had the chicken tenders here! Really nice crumb on the chicken, I went for a medium heat.
The staff here was very helpful as our party increased last min so they moved us onto a bigger table.
Some of our party just wanted to try the hot wing challenge. Here is the aftermath of him trying just the one wing!
S. V.
Friendly place with pleasant staff and the weather was great so we have enjoyed being in the restaurant at the same time having a nice view on the balcony 😀. Not to forget about the fooood, which is amazing 😉
L. S.
A group of us had a great meal here. We ordered loads of food and plenty of drink. Food was great quality and a good price. Hannah our waitress was spot on and had a great table manner. Recommended 👌🏼
L. S.
Great food! Wouldn’t recommend sitting by the door but we sat towards the back of restaurant. Good value for money
L. “. W.
Absolutely brilliant place to eat, portions are incredible and the price is really good for the quality of food! Will most certainly be back again
M. Y. L.
Been craving for a good American BBQ - smoked brisket!!!! Their hot wings are delicious too! Happy hours for cocktails didn't hurt. Had an amazing date night with hubby at Red Dog Saloon.
A.
Absolutely phenomenal. Went in for lunch today with a friend. The service from the waiter was spot on, he was friendly, polite, attentive and I was so impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and was worth every penny. Would highly recommend!
l. l.
Really good place to eat, the burger I ate was one of the best burgers I've ever had (Punisher MK2). The service was good even though it was very busy and we were a group of 10. Friendly staff. Only downfall is that the pints are bit expensive. Will be going again.
J. W. (.
Great food and service even when very busy. Only minor for me was they had run out of Corona on draft, but that's very minor. Had the Carnivore platter with the Philly cheese fries and jalapeno and bacon Mac & cheese
C. S. U.
So I've seen some bad reviews recently during the outdoor eating phase but my partner and I really like the burgers so we booked.
We went on a Thursday lunchtime and the service was good, the food came quickly and was a good as ever. If you've not had the fried jalapeños and pickles then you really should.
I had a Phillie steak burger which was delicious and my other half had the hickory burger. Both were great and we had a lovely time.
M. R.
AMAZING food me and my partner loved it!!! We both had the Cubano with fries also comes with free American style sweet iced tea!!!!
C. B.
I have a new favourite burger. The Philly cheeseburger here is immense! Decent service, not too pricy. Will be back to try the carnivor platter if I'm back in Southampton.
M. W.
Staff are friendly and approachable, the food is perhaps over priced but not unexpectedly so for the location. Milkshakes are nice and made with ice-cream. All of the food that we tried was fairly bland and oily, and in many cases cold. As a warning, the service charge is an automatic 10% on top of the bill. It might suit some people looking for that "American Experience" but sadly not to my taste.
G. M.
This is the best burger place it’s so far above anywhere else, I feel Like I’m going to pop but in the best way possible
G. D.
Busy and rushed service at this loud restaurant. There was very little social distancing going on at the restaurant. Only one staff member was wearing a face covering. The tables didn’t feel very clean. The wings were over done. The brisket was excellent. You don’t need a lot as it’s very rich. Melted in the mouth. The milkshakes are very good - we had the Oreo milkshake because the ice cream freezer was broken. Not sure why that was the case.
K. C.
Ok so we dined in and I’ve given 3 stars - someone else might rate it 5 for the same experience.
Some of the food I had was properly stand out excellent. The burger (a ‘Philly’, 2 patties topped with rib-eye) was truly remarkable for its texture, depth of flavour, way it was cooked and served. The onion rings - best ever. Hard to be remarkable but their rings were were - batter crispy and not chip shop crisp, but, for me, different altogether.
The fries - pretty good I’d say. The side of chilli, fabulous chunks of beef steak, falling apart tender, black beans, delicate chilli bite.. excellent.
Coleslaw was a bit meh tbh, and the buffalo wings to start? Disappointing. Not chunky, not falling-off the bone tender - a bit dry really. Had better in Brewdog.
Service was ok, good staff. Food comes out Wagamamas style, all in one go which seems a bit redicilous but that’s a choice by the restaurant.
The venue itself is dark. Moody.
Then there’s the bill. North of £40pp for wings burger and a couple of sides. Oh, and a Diet Coke. I’d rather go to Rick Steins or The Pig for that sort of money. You could eat at Limewood for less.
But the red dog saloon burger? I might remember that longer than the bill.
S. (.
The food here is good, but I do not think it is worth the money. Some of the staff are very friendly and tentative, while others are on the other side of that spectrum. They just didn't care and you were left feeling like you were bothering them.
I. V.
The Place was alright, went with family at around 19:00/19:30 on a weekday. I personally think the food is overpriced, for what you actually get in terms of portion but the place isn’t too bad
M. T.
Very busy, must book.
Ordered a carnivore platter, however it actually cost double the price as it's for a minimum of 2 people. Says that it consists of all the selection of meats in the menu however, we did not get the pork ribs which was a let down.
The macaroni and cheese portion was a huge let down.
The fries was the steak toppings was the best out of the whole meal.
The platter would be better if it came along with bread on the side.
Also a heads up, they charge an extra 10% as a service fee.
T.
A little bit on the expensive side however that's what happens with popular places. Fried pickles delicious. Burger was slightly overcooked, I prefer on the pink side. Staff were helpful and attentive even when busy. I found the toilets to be a bit of a state and two of the ladies cubicles out of order
A. M.
We love Red dog saloon. The burgers are just amazing. The lunch offer was just great and we hope it continues after the lockdown as well!
B. H.
Delishious food and great service. Our table server /waitress helped and talked us through the menu as this was our first time. When the food come, it was stupendous and delicious...... However, beware we went for what we fancied from the menu and got swept away with it. It can get very expensive. They add on a service charge on and with 3 drinks (1 diet coke, 1 soda water and 1 larger) and 3 platters the bill was £236.00!! One last thing, drink a lot of water after as the salt content is off the scale. Me and my 2 friends all claimed we woke up in the night to down gallons off water.
A. h.
Been here twice and the food is amazing . The server (loyd. hope that's how it's spelled) was really nice and helpful tryied the hot wing challenge and thought I was Gona die it was so hot but it was fun aneyway all in all its a great place and i only have positive things to say
G. O.
Friendly service in this American themed restaurant. Food was tasty although the menu is limited. Good selection of drinks
J. F.
Always a treat to come here. The service and the food is fantastic. I recommend the beef short rib, and coming here on a Wednesday is a must for the unlimited chicken. The food is so good that me and my Mrs came here again for another treat on the bank holiday weekend 👌
#. C.
Our waitress was friendly. However , the food was.. different. We thought to try different cuisine and the ribs and coleslaw were not to our taste. The fries were lovely tho.
J. S.
Friendly staff, great menu. Food was fantastic.
S. G.
Different type of experience, nice food. You can make up a tray or choose burgers.
Now our order they put it all on one tray and some food got cross contaminated so not good if you have allegies. We got around it by cutting off bits of the meat were contact was made that could cause an issue rather than sending it back.
A bit more expensive but a different taste that is nice and worth it.
Menu takes some working out and can add up if not carefull. Wasn't explained by our waitress.
Beer selection is not great but two cocktails for £10 is good value in early evening.
Puddings were nice, just pricey.
Watch out for the 10% tip that gets automatically added to your bill.
Good Service and a tip is a reward not a given!
R. F.
Red dog saloon is an American diner and does indeed include a good family atmosphere. If you've ever been to Orlando I'd say it is something you'd find on international drive.
The food is good (the burger was stuffed to the brim with good quality meat, sauce and onion rings) I had the hickory burger, however it was over priced for what it was, I'd best describe it as theme park food for those who've been to Disney world.
The service was lacking and was nothing like you'd find in a real American restaurant, no smile, chat or friendless.
With so much choice in this area of Southampton I think you could find a better meal for the price you pay.
G. P.
Good food friendly staff and solid American smoke house theme. Food is massive and filling but some might find it hard to pallet with lots of fried and fatty ingredients. Worth a visit for the experience!!
伏.
Now this is the cozy Bar-B-Q experience you should ultimately look for. Best food quality in this genre on the south England coast line. Thing is, this kind of place newly opened usually means a huge crowd during the common busy hours. You want service, quality and quiet? Come here at noon or before 16:00 on weekdays.
E. J.
Visited a couple of weeks ago whilst I’m Southampton. Staff were lovely, food was AMAZING and they managed to fit us in last minute. We all loved it. Thank you!
D. G. U.
Nice place but too expensive for what it is. My offee came in a glass not a cup. The worst thing was they automatically added 10% tip to the bill. I understand they are an american themed restaurant but this is the UK.
J. M.
First time visiting here but definitely not the last. Food was incredible and excellent service as well!
J. M.
Little bit more expensive than other places, but the quality has always been top tier. Really great burgers, definitely get your money's worth here. Shame that the burgers dont come with chips as standard, but the quality is always so good I dont mind paying a little extra.
K. f. a. d.
There's plenty of food to go around. We ordered the fried pickles and jalapenos. There were enough for 4 people if not 6. Chicken wings arrived and there were 8 on the plate. Fries are large enough to share between 2. The only food that came out to a size I expected was the burgers. All of it was very tasty and the service we received was friendly. Only issue I had were the restrooms were in a bit of a state. The floor was wet and slippery. My son nearly went over when we walked in to wash our hands before we left.
S. W.
Service very prompt, seated quickly when very busy on a Saturday lunchtime. Drinks and food came quickly, we had the sandwiches which were OK, not as tasty as I had hoped and quite greasy. I'm sure the burgers and signature dishes were lovely but perhaps our choices were not the best ones to have
T. F.
Great for lunch, quickly seated and food arrived promptly. Food was great! £2.50 for a can of coke is a joke though.
L. G.
Awesome place, great food, really great food ! It was quiet while I visited but I imagine the place gets busy. Very interesting menu.
D. F.
The restaurant is lovely and the service was great, they've got a good selection of milkshakes, alcoholic or not. The food tastes amazing but you can tell the quality of the food is jot what you'd expect for the price. Gave it 4 stars for the service and the selection of drinks.
D. R.
Loved it. Absolutely gorgeous food. Can't wait to go again
S. L.
Myself and my daughter shared a portion of wings, had a burger each and shared a portion of fries. Accompanied by diet coke.
We had the wings with a blue cheese dip and a peach glaze. They were surprisingly spicy and we didn't eat them all. The burgers were great. I had the Gooey Louie and daughter had the Peanut Butter one. Both were succulent and full of flavour. Very nice indeed.
With regard to the service - it was pretty quick and ordinary. There was no engagement from the staff. It was just what would you like and off they went. We did get asked if the food was good but as it had only just been put on the table, it was difficult to answer that one. The bill was slid onto the table whilst we were still eating, making us feel very uncomfortable about ordering more drinks.
It's not a cheap place to eat but I would leave it up to the individual to decide whether or not it's value for money. The burgers don't come with fries which I would have expected for the price. The diet coke was £3.50 so that's not cheap. I find soft drinks in most places tend to be over priced though.
There was a 10% service charge automatically added to the bill. A practice I totally disagree with. I will always tip good service. The service here was basic and the minimum to get you in, fed and out again.
Overall, I would go again for the burger and to try the bbq elements.
R. G.
A fantastic evening at Red Dog Saloon. Our meal was delicious and HUGE. we had a double Sweet bourbon BBQ burger, and a double Doomsday Device burger. With fries and guerilla fries. It was all cooked to perfection, juicy burgers, and delicious sides. Generous portion sizes too.
We had mentioned that it was a special day today, and they very kindly gave us a free drink. It was the perfect place to spend a special evening.
We can't fault the service, the food or anything about it.
Thank you very much to everyone at Red Dog Saloon Southampton.
T. L.
Very good service waitress was very good and cheerful as it was a stag do
E. s.
one of the few places I've ever been where the food turned up looking like all the pictures I've seen. tasted as good as it looked too
C.
Brilliant food, great service and lovely cocktails! Fries sold separately from the burgers but perfect American style food all the same
J. W.
Oh man what a shame. Used to be good for a casual sit down bite to eat, but the standards have dropped recently.
Items were missing from the order taken or not made correctly.
By the time the food or drinks were on the table, within 20 seconds we were asked how it was. Barely even enough time to swallow a chip.
It feels as though the overall food quality has dropped. The usually decadent loaded fries are now topped with a pinch of caramelized onions and cheap tasting cheese.
K. U. (. A.
The beef dishes we had were good. The only let down was the fried chicken was insanely dry that we couldn't eat it.
N. C.
Absolutely gorgeous food!!! Only downside is small selection of non alcoholic drinks.
W. W.
Great food, great service - I ate so much I feel like I'm with child
D. E.
Abit on the pricey side but well worth it if you love good bbq. Good American style stuff that's hard to get here
C. N.
Amazing burgers and other classic american food, quick service but in a nice resteraunt/bar setting rather than a fast food place, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
C. D.
Excellent US eatery, fantastic selection of meats and BBQ food, huge range of tequila and mescal, very busy so be prepared to book but it's well worth it, looking forward to going back and to try some more! Highly recommended.
K. C.
Amazing service, three people front of house running the whole show, magnificent effort. We wanted for nothing but not overwhelmed either. Food superb, never had a burger here before but the Doomsday Device is a revelation. Louie's wings a great addition.
R. H.
Went in at lunchtime for the deal menu. £12.50 for a burger, side and drink. Food was well cooked and tasted amazing. The chips were really good and not the usual bulk bought from bookers type. Service was really good and outdoor seating was perfect during covid restrictions. Will come again.
S. R.
The food is amazing and although quite expensive compared to some restaurants, is well worth it. One slight criticism would be aimed ag their milkshakes, they no longer serve them large but the price remains the same. Bit of a let down guys. But all in all cannot fault the food. We'll deffo be back again
N.
The food is really tasty if not a bit overpriced. Service was ok.
J. T.
Great food and massive portions. It is a bit expensive but there is loads of food. I would definitely recommend the peach ice tea.
w. o.
Fantastic visithere, staff are lovely and friendly.
You could tell they were a bit under staffed but the team felt with t well. Food is amazing I will be back for the hot wing challenge.
B. L.
The meat platter I had was very generous, but nearly cold and definitely not fresh. Potato salad wasn't for my taste and I had better chips in McDonald's, so for me it was quite disappointing. :/
On the other hand cocktails were amazing, I would go there just for those drinks again!!
The place was very clean, staff was very kind and helpful.
l. r.
The food was good but service wasn't so much. Was a table of four, we ordered 3 sides of fries and only two came out and was told the third will be out shortly which it never arrived to us and they asked us which sauces we wanted and then never brought it over to us.
K. J.
Disappointingly average.
Our waitress went MIA after taking our order, which incidentally she got wrong.
Had to send 2/3 of our meal back as one burger was wrong and the fries stone cold.
Ordered a beer with another server which arrived just as we asked for the (overpriced) bill.
L. D.
*star review low due to staff not food*
The staff really let the place down, little to no interaction with a service charge added on. Working in hospitality I’m sympathetic to service, however the staff here didn’t put in any effort at all. The food on the other hand was really good, especially the chicken.
H. E. L.
Amazing place to please your desires for fried stuff and burgers, but have you stomach prepared for it! 🤣
P. S.
Tasty food, friendly staff. Big tables for large groups
M. A.
Having recently been to Canada and experienced this kind of food over there my son wanted to find a restaurant very similar to what we had been to in South Edmonton.
Took him to The Red Dog Saloon for a treat and he absolutely loved it. Food was very tasty and fresh, and huge portions. Only negative is way too much fat on the ribs.
Will definitely be back though, this time for a burger.
I also had a Strawberry milkshake which was huge lol. Was lovely though!
Great service, very attentive and friendly staff and only too happy to help suggest what to order.
T. A.
Great lunch, amazing burgers and the best shakes
M. P.
I had a big messy burger which was most excellent. Service and ambience also very good.
A. M.
Couldn't fault the food I ordered here. Only thing was my meal was sooo big I ended up taking some of it home.
A. L.
Had food here as a group of almost 30 on Sunday night and it didnt disappoint at all. Nobody in our group left unhappy.
The food was unbelievably good and the service was excellent.
Would definitely recommend.
T. K.
These burgers were the best I have had.
J. S.
Arrived without a reservation and could only sit outside, apparently because all the tables inside were booked. When we were leaving still half of the restaurant inside was empty… The BBQ tray that is coming with ‘gherkins and selection of sauces’ came with two slices of gherkin and one sauce. One of the meats on the tray was rather lukewarm, not straight off the grill. Honestly the meal felt a bit overpriced, especially that it was a bit disappointing.
H. B.
Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. Our waiter Sam was a great laugh and kept us well looked after, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere and decor were brilliant. Will definitely be coming back.
S. W.
The gin cocktail is delicious and worth a try, cam e in here and not disappointed, may o ly be for a drink but worth it.
Nice asmosphere, nice staff and a rustic American feel :) worth a shot especially with the 2 for 1
A. B.
Food great but they should get with the times and have wifi
A. B.
Nice food, great service. The dessert (oreo and white chocolate cake with raspberry cream) was absolutely amazing!
P. B.
Went for Sunday lunch the place was busy and had a good atmosphere. The smoked brisket is fantastic and the chilli cheese fries are phenomenal.
S. O.
Brilliant food and fantastic, attentive and Covid-aware service.
e.
I know it's a meat place, I get it, but was with meat eating friend and limited choices. Made a simple request to make my meal vegan without bun(has egg) sauce or cheese but everything else OK (salad based trimmings) and it came out wrong once smothered in sauce then ended up with a plain no bun burger and dry salad.. Without any touches like pickles etc, that would have helped a bit. Cocktails and timings and my friends meal.. Great. A great place for non vegans. Some small minor changes to just one meal would solve this. But I know they are known as a meat place.
K. R.
Loved it great tasty food and very happy and helpful staff
J. R.
It was fine for a meal with friends. Meal tasted good but it's weird that the burger costs as much as it does but doesn't come with fries - you have to order separately. Big enough portions though. I wouldn't book this place myself but I would go again if my friends booked it.
V. C. T.
The best burger in Southampton. It was amazing it was tasty full of flavour delicious perfect and I can go on. It was worth it the money. We left the place full and excited, we tried different burgers chicken and beef and each one was special. Each ingredient was adding to the flavour even more. The meat was perfectly grilled and juicy enough. The chips was so tasty and the amount enough for two. The desert I had with the cherries and brownies was not that great as the burgers. I highly recommend that place.

Food was amazing!!! Service was amazing. The 3 young lads they had on service where great at recommending dishes and really friendly.
M. A.
Amazing US food, massive portions, quality meat, great flavour, dirty fries are amazing
E. W.
So we went for the help out eat out offer and for 3 adults and 3 children our bill was nearly £100.00!!!! The food was okay, the main meals came with no sides they were extra and the burgers were plain. I think the only saving grace was our waitress. She was smiley, happy and on the ball.
J. B.
Lovely burgers.
The food was excellent.
The down side is that it is pricey chips come extra. ( as most burgers places) there £4!
On your bill at the end you will have to pay a service fee.
Overall great food but expensive
m. n.
Nice relaxed setting, only negative was the Chicken in the burger being far too salty....apart from that it was a very nice meal
R. S.
Very nice meat, but expected more for the £24pp platter we got! No doubt I was stuffed by the end but did buy additional chips and coleslaw sides.
Worth a visit, but be prepared to drop a good £45 each if you're drinking beers too
M. H.
The best burger place in Southampton. 2 main things set this place apart, the patty is next level & the fillings overflow the burger. Just had a Gooey Louie burger, 2 chunky mozzarella sticks, with loads of bacon & the patty. Many places do good burgers in Southampton like Byron Burger but the patty is too thick/ not flat enough, reducing the toppings & it too dominated by the beef.
This place just surprised me with 20% off collection. If you haven tried it, I can't recommend highly enough.
M. J.
Fantastic place. Delicious food (really filling)and drinks (salted caramel espresso martini 👌),great atmosphere, weiters sooo polite, helpful and nice. I went with kids but it felt like night out. So many laughs, we didn't want to leave and was sitting there hours. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
S. P.
The service was absent minded: waitresses asked us if we wanted sauces and was asked three times as she returned without them, the ice cream from the kids meal, turned into an cookies and cream milkshake. My platter was cold, like it was made an hour ago and stood out on the balcony and waited for my arrival kinda cold. Finally, the bill ~£80 for the wholly unhappy experience. Best part was the beer and the wings. The remaining food was tasty once reheated. It may have been a bad day, so I would give it a chance.
A. P.
Been here twice and both times the food has been incredible. The burgers are amazing and the chicken wings are the best I've ever had
C. P.
The red dog saloon has a nice Ambiente. The waiter gave me fast a table for one. The milkshake was awesome, then I ordered beef short ribs and brisket. The brisket was super tender, but the beef short ribs were not so tender as I expected. The meat was nice seasoned but the meat were still little bit too hard. I like my beef short ribs super tender and fall off the bone. In total the restaurant is nice but they should take little longer time for smoking the short ribs at least 12 hours should be.
D. F.
Absolutely amazing food and service served here. Whilst may be a little higher price than most it was definitely worth paying. Best burger ever. The loaded fries and drinks on offer are spot on too. I really wish there were more branches around the country, and certainly one closer to me. Completed our day out to Southampton.
z. m.
Very spicy wings for the challenge, but I found the main menu dull and not tasty
P.
We love this place but tonight was by far our best visit. The food was great and we had Anna for our server. She was very attentive and just lovely! I think it's possibly the best customer service we've ever had. Looking at how she was with everyone, especially the kids I'm super impressed. We will be returning and hope to see her again!
A. &. M.
Not bad food but expect to pay quite a bit for your meal, that's if you want to have anything else in your meal other than just a burger.
Food itself is reasonable, not fine dining despite having that kind of price range, a typical pub burger
K. S.
Good food with huge portions and take out boxes for your leftovers. Slow service on the drinks though and they ran out of vodka for cocktails on a Saturday night
G. J.
Amazing food if you want flavour and a full feeling. Myself and my girlfriend came here on a date night and the service was amazing, we were seating and had our food in 15 minutes and it was busy.
This isn't a typical spot for vegetarians but my other half said it was the best veggie burger she has ever had. We loved it.
A. M.
Great food good service will go again it was my second visit
m. w.
Great food. The burgers were amazing. However the service and price let it down. I had my food, ordered another beer which took about 10-15 minutes, then once we was finished I asked for the bill to which the server slammed the little silver tray down on the table... They add the service charge on. I'm not saying it wasn't friendly but the manner could be better. If the service is good I have no problem.
G. R.
Went here on Monday 17th August as a sort of last minute thing to take advantage of Eat Out to Help Out. I was glad we managed to find somewhere, should have known this would be a popular scheme!
First impressions were good, the place has a slightly Wild West flavour to it with wood panelling and whisky bottles, the furniture is mostly wooden also and a little uncomfortable. The maître d' was friendly and welcoming, I think my wife had spoken to him on the phone when booking, and is a credit to the restaurant.
They had the front windows fully open, which I love, as it seems to give this special summer feel to the place, even when dining indoors. Sadly this ambience was let down by the music, not that it was bad, but it was far too loud, stifling conversation and my enjoyment. Our table was also in the middle of the flow of movement from the bar, almost none of the Covid guidance was being followed.
Our waitress was pleasant and effective, although I get the impression that I had insulted her in some way when I was giving my order. Maybe it had been a long shift.
Sadly they were out of ice cream for the milkshakes, there's something so American about having a milkshake with a burger, it's a treat! In general I would give top marks for the menu, there are a good variety of different options. We both ended up going for burgers, with one portion of fries for the two of us. The food was terrific, and though expensive, the portions are generous. My wife had a virgin daiquiri and said it was one of the best she has had.
What sadly ruined the experience was the automatic 10% gratuity added to the bill. I appreciate that you can ask for these things to be removed, but it shouldn't be there in the first place. It is the responsibility of the restaurant to provide proper remuneration to their staff.
If the gratuity doesn't bother you, I would recommend this restaurant, but I won't be returning if I'm the one paying. On the plus side, I now know to look out for this practice in future.
S. C.
Best burger I've ever had. You know it's decent meat as we when they ask you how you'd like your burger cooked. The fries with bacon and the cheese ranch sauce are also incredible. Service, not the whole is alright, albeit a bit slow at times.
A. S.
Great food. Good service. Won't be the last time I visit
L. W.
Had a really good night for my wifes birthday. First time at RDS & a good experience.
Excellent (& very filling food) & great service, staff were a real credit.....Thank you.
A little pricy but good quality
👍
J.
Amazing burgers....keto variation available
P. S.
Wow the buttermilk chicken burger with texas fries out of this world & i doubled up on the chicken. Everyone enjoyed there meals including the kids. Ordered some glasses of coke that was flat, that was The only down fall. Staff are great and very friendly. Will definitely visit again *****
G. W.
The food was fantastic but over-priced.
The service was average - not worth the optional service charge automatically added to the bill.
C. H.
This place is definitely worth visiting, however, check the menu before commiting, the menu outside is the evening menu not the lunch menu so some of the items listed aren't available during the day. This was slightly off putting once seated and realising the things that had enticed us in were not available but we decided as we were already in and the weather was bad outside that we'd stay anyway.
We went for burgers and they were very nice and the onion rings were amazing. It is quite pricey though, 2 drinks, 2 burgers and 2 sides was nearly £45.
We may visit again in the future but in t
A. L.
First visit here. Good food, okay service.
I was fairly impressed with the food here as the quantities were good and the quality was also there although the prices were a bit high. You're looking at an average of £5 for a beer and the food prices follow suit.
Also, we didn't actually get what we ordered only we didn't realise this as the meal we received wasn't vastly different to the original order.
Our server was attentive but a little clumsy, firstly spilling our drinks on the table when brought to us with a little splashing on me. I wouldn't have minded too much but there was no apology and no attempt to clean the spillage up. The server then lost some of the side dish to the floor when bringing the meals over. Again, this isn't a big deal, but it was just left there.
The service charge is then automatically added to the bill. It is something I generally always will pay, but with this service not being all that great and the food not being right, we didn't feel it necessary. When we said we wouldn't pay we were met with attitude from our server.
I'd like to come back and give it another try as I feel the experience could be way better based on other reviews.
M. R.
So tasty! Burgers are the best I've had for a long time. Hickory with the brisket was incredible. Only thing was that the beef short rib was quite fatty and did not have as much meat as had hoped seeing as you had to pay a supplement for it!
D. M.
The food was great, I genuinely can't fault the food. The only issue I had was that I felt the service to be rushed.
It was as if they were expecting a busy night and wanted people in and out the door as quickly as possible.
We barely had time to finish the starters before the main was pushed out to us.
Again, the food was fantastic - the only thing that let them down was the pushy attitude from the staff trying to make you rush.
Also a 10% service charge for two people is a bit ridiculous.
I most likely will not be eating here again. There are plenty of burger/meat places around that aren't eager to get you in and out as fast as possible.
C. F.
Good service, and friendly. But music to loud so hard to hear conversation. Food nice, but ends up being quite pricey as you have to order everything separately.
K. F.
Chose to come to try it out again as went when first opened and didn't enjoy it. But I ordered the chicken tower burger and wow! Was so nice and full of flavour shame on the price though it's very pricey. I didn't like that we have a 2 year old and we asked just for some chicken tenders as the kids menu was 6.50 for them and chips dessert and drink but we knew she wouldn't touch it so I thought it would be a reduced price when got the bill it was just as much for some chicken tenders than the whole lot together so that was a shock... came again yesterday and decided to try the carnivore platter to share and we ordered chicken and bacon fries they were delicious!! And the platter was definitely enough for 2. Another disappointment was we did order the kids menu this time but we got our meal before her and she had to wait another 5 minutes which i think wasn't acceptable they should have brought here out first it wasn't even busy either.. overall I think pricey you should have a meal deal for a burger and chips instead of paying for a pricey burger then the 3.50 or more for the sides £12 for just a burger.. doesn't even come with anything else
D.
Great experience eating here, atmospheric with a variety of things to choose from on the menu. When the food came the portions were very good value and the taste blew me away. What surprised me the most was the friendly staff! One waitress in particular (I believe her name was Georgie) who took the whole experience to another level with her beautiful looks and charming wit.
Will definitely be coming back!
B. W.
Overall very good but a couple of small errors in our order which were rectified when pointed out. Food was lovely. Nice atmosphere 👌
C. S.
The food for the price here is great! You'll fill your boots for £30 with some good quality food. I'd recommend that you get a 2 meat platter and 2 sides order and split it between two people if you aren't an eating machine. There's plenty to go around!
D. C.
Went on a Friday night it was busy and very noisy, you can't hear yourself think as the music is too loud. I had Southern fried chicken it wasn't very hot and they had sprinkled dry seasoning on it which had a very strange texture. The waitress was very good.
F.
Great food, especially the chicken wings and burgers. However quite pricey as dishes don't include sides, always seem to be out of Goose IPA, and while food service is decent getting a drink can be pretty slow. Food quality itself and staff friendliness is 5 stars though
R. C.
Food was awesome. Staff were lovely. Would be nice of they did a sampler for one person of all the meats, they offer that for 2 or more but when your mates are insistent that they have a burger and you want yourself some bbq it is a slight disappointment considering how easy it is to just plate up slightly less meat.
G. N.
Fantastic burgers full of flavour, decent sized sharing starters and sides. Peach iced tea was very refreshing. Expresso coffee very good. I feel like coming back and explore the rest of options in the generous menu.
L. P.
Food was really good, but SO expensive. We paid £44 for two people and got: one burger each, chips TO SHARE, a milkshake TO SHARE, one tap water and one coke.
The service was good, but really, really quick so felt a bit rushed as we were in and out in less than 30 minutes.
Personally, I prefer Byron burger as it's a bit more of an experience and certainly less expensive.
K. N.
The atmosphere was nice but overpriced for cheap quality food. A burger is almost £13 but does not come with any fries. The taste of the burger was ok doesn't live up to the name 'the punisher'. I ordered a philly steak sandwich and instead of steak slices there was mince, that wasn't cooked well. Very average but an expensive bill at the end.
C. E.
Absolutely amazing as always
P. O.
Excellent American BBQ-style food, although the prices are a little high. Definitely worth it overall if you enjoy good slow-cooked brisket and generous portions of St. Louis cut pork ribs. The iced tea was also excellent.
K. C.
Fantastic food and brilliant quick service.
s.
Well I mean Red Dog Saloon... what a place!! Couldn’t praise this restaurant any more! I’m all for one for having as much meat as I can in my burger but oh my. When I tried the cheese burger it was unreal. I never thought you could make something so simple taste soooo good. Try it out yourselves!!
C.
Burger was delicious. We all found the menu a bit confusing regarding ordering bits of meat but the waiter was lovely and explained how it worked. Shame the music was so loud we could barely hear the person next to us but this seems to be the way with all the new west quay restaurants. Makes it like trying to dine in a club.
J. M.
Lovely food, can never fault it - proper American style food and great service too
A. M.
Very good burgers, great chicken and BBQ – but overpriced. 7bone clone minus the dirty charm, and just too pricy. Staff are generally amazing but our server clearly wanted us gone asap on my last visit.
H. R.
Always amazing food, the burgers melt in your mouth, the bbq menu caters for all and the service is always incredible
A. B.
Came here as a meat lover, left here as a red dog saloon lover. The place was brilliant, service was great drinks were lovely. The burger I had was incredible, best one ive had in my 34 years on this planet, and I've had many a burger. Cannot wait to come back and try the smoked meat platter!
s. s.
Amazing food, big portion you won't leave hungry. Price is accorded well to the quality and quantity of the meal. Only fault is staff was friendly but wasn't very helpful. the last 20 minutes of me in there I was waiting with a empty glass waiting for a top up
V. R.
Wow incredible. From service to food the best ever. We had Anna serving us in there and she was friendly and down to earth definitely recommended eating here. The short rib is to die for and the rest was better than amazing.
D.
Fine, they have a veggie burger on the menu but chips are a side for £4.50. Quite pricey
J. G.
I really enjoyed this place the food is very good and doesn't take long in coming out to you. The staff are really good as well. recommend
L. D.
Great food selection, USA themed. Burgers and meat platters being the most popular. Drink selection is great, rum chocolate milkshake is the one! If you're feeling up to it theres the devastator burger, crabby patty or wings challenge!
M.
Such a good meal here. So flavourful, not cheap but you get what you pay for. Layers of flavour in the burger, smokiness in the brisket. Tasty chips and onion rings and good beer, faultless.
M. M.
Amazing food and very kind staff. We had questions about what some of the American style foods were and staff had no issues explaining clearly to us. Incredible all you can drink ice teas and a great selection of meaty options to eat. 😍
B. S.
Very good place to eat. American style food and portions to suit. Excellent atmosphere, Three generations of my family were there, everybody enjoyed the restaurant and will be happy to return.
Another return visit this time on a Saturday evening.
Table booked in advance, every table occupied.
The same quality and large portions of food.
Despite being extremely busy our meals arrived very quickly.
Excellent service once again.
S. L.
The food was really good and I would recommend anyone going for that reason. But we had to wait for half an hour for a table as we did not book, for a Group of 6. This was a bit odd considering the restaurant was half full and the table we were eventually seated at, was the one we had been stood next to the whole time while waiting at the bar... and it had been unoccupied all that time. I can appreciate that it was mid-week so probably expected to be quieter and that others had probably booked, etcetera, but as I say... it was all a bit odd! Hopefully that was a one-off and we will definitely remember to book ahead of time, next time.
D. K.
Genuinely impressed by the "It's Saul Goodman" burger. Brisket. Sausage. A little bit of spice. It was just amazing. Rest of our party was equally happy. Bonus points for keeping it together on the Saturday before Christmas, when every other restaurant in Southampton seems to be losing it.
A. M.
The food here is spectacular, tastes amazing, I got a double tower burger and it was indeed huge so be wary of the massive portion sizes, good atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and great food. A little pricey but worth it.
M. L.
Wow wow wow wow. First visit. Food was amazing and loads of it too. Yes it's slightly pricey but when it's that good I don't mind. Staff were attentive, friendly and nothing was too much hassle. I highly recommend the beef brisket. Amazing. We will be back
E. H.
Great food and great service. We got the ribs and the pulled pork with 2 sides each. No complaints on the food but the sizes were way too big to finish. Our server (blonde European guy) was so funny and relatable but not too over-the-top, so we loved him!
R. W.
Went to Southampton red dog and it was the best food we have had! The burgers were to die for the taste was just out of this world! Definitely need to open one in Devon Exeter or near! Thank you for a great night!
R. P.
Good menu for both food & drink, but the portion sizes are rather large. So make sure you're really hungry & try the Philli fries. Fantastic.
L. C.
The best burgers, smoked meats and iced tea!
M. P. 1.
Service is fantastic
Food standards have dropped in the last 6 months. First time I went food was great
Went last night and the wings and chicken burger extremely oily and tasteless
Veggie options are great. Highlight has to be the great service from the staff
K. D.
One of my favourite restaurants. The food is absolutely incredible with the range that Red Dog have to offer.
The service has always been on point, very polite and informative.
Feeling like treating yourself i highly recommend this restaurant.
B. A. F.
Really enjoyed this place. Good food selection without breaking the bank. Tried the mozzarella sticks and a great fried chicken burger. If your looking for an American style dine, its a good choice.
S. D.
3rd time I have ordered from Red Dog Saloon Southampton. Wonderfully packaged amazing portions and cooked to perfection, amazing for a lazy night in when you dont want to cook. The Punishier is to die for.
E. H.
This is becoming one of our favourites places to dine in Southampton. Nice comfort food and the fact it is the busiest restaurant around West Quay speaks for itself. Service is good and selection of drinks ample.
m. I. w.
Tasted ok had better for cheaper.
£12 for a burger no fries ? Also the coke tasted flat.
Plus an extra service charge really? added on top of an expensive burger which in no way was worth £12 I would say £7 at max.
No value for money!
C. M.
On of the best burgers I have ever had, was bouncing with activity all round excellent place
S. S.
Took my partner for dinner tonight, ran out of the brisket we wanted to order but was not disappointed with our meal in the slightest, philly cheesesteak burger was amazing! Our server Callum also was very polite and attentive. Definitely coming back :)
B. H.
WOW! What can we say? we came for the bottomless prosecco and it delivered! The staff went above and beyond. Our glasses were topped up promptly within moments of getting the staffs attention and the food was divine! I bought the full english breakfast and my partner the Punisher burger! both were cooked to perfection. Do not let the 90 minute sitting throw you off! We got more than enough prosecco! We would recommend going on a sunday at 11am as it was rather quiet. 10/10 we WILL go again. Thank you to all your staff for a memorable weekend 🥂
A. H.
Adhered to the coronavirus rules service was friendly and the food was really good
M. T.
Good good. There is a rat problem along all of the shop fronts though. Saw 6-7 just running about the tables of the shops outside areas.
J. T.
Lovely food and good service but Facebook pictures of there portion sizes is very miss leading.
X.
Great food and service was really good. Little bit pricey but would rather pay a little more and have great food. Only thing holding this from a 4 to a 5 star review is out of the 5 dinners one meal we had to wait an additional 3 mins for while the rest of our meals were already served.
J. B.
Food was awesome and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating when my baby started acting up. They asked if they could doing anything to help and offered to warm any milk up if we needed it.
Will definitely go back.
R. B.
Luke warm, lazy and uninspired (not the staff but the menu)
One can't swing a cat in Southampton without hitting a better burger.
The pit beans came out twice not warm enough and just kinda lying there.
Could do better. Much better.
R. C.
Great value lunchtime deal, and the burger with peanut butter was fantastic. Very good service and I thoroughly recommend the 8" deep-pan cookie !!
R. C.
I came back today and had some chips served by Aidan from the bar (sorry for any spelling mistakes). I appreciated his patience with me while I tried to get his name right and the fact that he didn't judge me for my double food portions. The guys who work here have from my experiences so far have also been consistently good to me whenever I've been in over the past few weeks.
A distinct mention must however go to the very lovely Amelia who's been my absolute favourite throughout my times in Red Dog Saloon, continuously given me her undivided attention and been the highlight of my restaurant visits here. Amelia is a real pleasure to be around, incredibly enthusiastic and just sincerely down to earth in nature.
Something which I greatly appreciated about Amelia is how she afterwards let me say thank you to her, her efforts to absorb my praises and the fact that she so authentically greeted me to say bye when I was leaving at the end.
Amelia genuinely is the best young waitress lady I've ever come across, her manners are simply golden and she's just always been making me personally feel extra special.
Thank you for your time - I appreciated!
Raza =)

The whole place felt strange from the moment we walked in. 20 paying tables had been cramped into only a third of the restaurant, the rest filled with large tables with absolutely no customers all night. Couples were forced to sit half a meter from other tables. The men's was a disaster, one toilet out of order, the other flooded and out of stock. Even the sinks were flooded. Food was great, and service was good. Forced 10% service fee, alright if it's for the staff. Management needs to rethink how they seat customers and keep services up to par.
M. M.
Food and service were great. Really impressed and will be back. Hopefully The Saints will play better than they did against Everton. The food was more enjoyable than the game!
K. W.
Really nice place to eat out. The service is great everyone's very friendly. They have amazing offers and prices and the portion sizes are very large
A. L.
Food lacked in flavour especially the "smoked" short rib.
Nice enough, but isn't enough to make me want to go back often as I feel there are better places serving American / BBQ food.
A. H.
Went before the cinema with my son. The menu was simple and not endless pages. They served us quickly and Callum was polite. Food arrived in good time. Very tasty but salty and overall a good experience.
D. H.
I have been to Red Dog a few times now. The food is delicious and the service was very good. I will definitely keep coming back.
f. g.
Group of 4 and 3 of those enjoyed all the food. I didn't but it was more because I was trying something new for me based on a recommendation and I just didn't like it. The atmosphere and service were really good though. I would definitely go back and try it again.
D. d. C.
Great environment, atmosphere and location (just outside the new West Quay build extension)- however food was less than satisfying and came out warm and for the price your probably better of at Nandos for less £££. Having said that I'm glad I tried the place for the sake of trying due to the hype it built itself up to- but having actually gone to Houston, Texas in one of their BBQ saloons as my younger self- you can't even compare...
t. b.
Best cheese burger I've had,. Staff fantastic, friendly and on the ball. You feel welcomed there, definitely going again even though it's over an hour away.
B.
Fantastic food! Great atmosphere. Superb service.
R. C.
Staff are friendly and the food is very nice
J. L.
Great food, drinks, service. Nothing bad to mention. Also undoubtedly one of the best burgers I've ever had. 5 stars.
A. T.
Excellent food, great spicy chicken. Portions are bigger than expected. Great fun place.
B. J.
The food was OK but I don't think represents value for money. Didn't feel like a true American dining experience, but I accept covid related conditions have probably caused part of that.
J. F.
We were a group of four on a spontaneous night out and decided on Red dog! So glad we did.We had such a great time here last night 😀 great banter, friendly professional staff and team spirit! Lovely food and drinks! Highly recommended👍
R. A.
Expensive, but tasty food. Have to order all sides such as fries extra as burgers don't come with them. Not as good value as 7bone. Loud bustling restaurant ideal for getting together with friends. Pleasant staff.
S. L.
Matt (Manager) is absolutely brilliant. Before I go down the hot wings route, the customer service was fantastic, highly attentive and looked after our every need (even charged my phone). Needless to say the Hot wings challenge, having done a couple at other reputable establishments, was ***** spicy!! Loved it, cried a little, got the free tshirt! Would recommend this to a group of competitive individuals. However the food (not hot wings) here is also delicious. Great atmosphere, great staff, come here any day of the week!
Thanks Matt!
Greg and Soren
D. P.
Pretty good for a smoked meat BBQ place, if not up there with the absolute best. The burgers are very good and I enjoyed my beef short rib. Beer selection is OK but could be better.
C. J.
Food and drinks were amazing! Staff were friendly and the service was amazing! They do Coke Classic in a glass bottle which is also a plus!
S. “. M. M.
Not bad, not great. Food tasty, though portions not the sizes on website. Not particularly great value. No steak available. Staff a bit disengaged. Muzak very good. Beer selection good. Wouldn't go again.
O. L.
We love a good American style smokehouse, and Red Dog compares very favourably with the best places we've been in London, Manchester and even Dallas. The menu for both food and drink is extensive. The option for bottomless breakfast cocktails is a bit dangerous *hic* but every aspect of the food was excellent, including how quickly it came out (admittedly it was pretty quiet when we came for brunch). I would make a trio to Southampton especially to come here, as readily as I would get on a train to go to London for Bodeans or Red's True BBQ.
J. P.
Good restaurant but not as great as it looks. Service can be exceptionally slow if they're a little busy.
Food is a bit hit and miss. Had some delicious meals, some below average meals.
L. F.
Lovely food, burgers are the best I've found so far. Quickly served all 12 of us. My favourite is unlimited ice tea.
H. D.
If you like your meat, this is the place for you. Embarrassingly I've only had one thing from here, but I've had it about 5 times now. It's so tasty i can never convince myself to have anything else! Not a good place for vegetarians or vegans due to lack of menu options
E. L.
Very tasty food... I just need go be able to buy a big bottle of that Texan bbq sauce because now I want more of it!!! I should warn people.. if you go here for lunch like me, don't expect to be hungry again for the rest of the day.
N. B.
Fantastic service. Staff were really friendly and happy to advise of the menu. The food was outstanding the best we have ever had. Thanks guys xx
A.
The Best American Ice Tea. Mozzarella dippers are superb. Being able to get 50/50 died pickles & jalapeños is awesome. Took ALL the leftovers home. YUMMY
H. “. B.
Good service and nice food. Can recommend for a god burger and great meat.
J. S.
Food was ok and quick service but when we came to pay the bill we were told that although the bill contained a 10% discretionary tip the waiter said that they didn't see the money and so we could add to it if we wished. We didn't the service wasn't that good!
C. S.
Great food, closest to USA style BBQ I've had outside North America.
C. H.
Red dog Southampton is great. Ordered the Louis chicken, quick delivery, the food was fresh. Would definitely order again!
E. M.
Fave place to eat. Hands down. Anything you try is bound to be good. The old fashioned style of the venue is genuinely arresting. The look and feel of their Western bar makes my eyes water a bit. If you're going to Southampton, you HAVE to come here. Also, always cover your jeans or trousers with a napkin.
A. W.
Had a great meal here the food was amazing and staff were happy and cheerful went for the full meat selection and was spot on all cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend.
C. S.
Best burgers i've ever had and will absolutely come back for the cocktails
M. J.
Staff could not be more welcoming. Food was amazing and the drinks were good too. Great value for money will definitely be back. Highly recommend this restaurant.
A. H.
Good simple menu, polite efficient staff. Food hot and tasty and decent portions. However discovered coffee cup stained and food contains high level of salt. Drank gallons of water later!
J. W.
Great food if you love meat. Beef short rib is definitely a favourite. Have visited a few times and service and food has always been great.

Very nice place! Good food. Mainly Southern American food served here, as well as local brew beers. Be sure to go there when your stomach is empty.

Pleasant staff, but very packed liked sardines. Food not hot and very noisy. Good menu, served quickly. A few tweaks and could be dynamite.
L. D.
Wonderful burgers, decor is rustic. Staff are very attentive, however not always a good thing. Good hearty meal. Would recommend

Good food, reasonable price and good, quick service. Part of the watermark west quay complex that really is, in my opinion, quite excellent. Parking in the evening is £1 and plenty of it only 2 minutes walk. Be aware, parking in the podium car park (underneath west quay) is more expensive.

The food was nice but the service wasn't great (I had a beer spilled on me but they did comp the food). All in all decent place for brunch/dinner but there are other places just as good/better in the same area.

Best burger ever and chips are amazing

My number one choice when visiting Southampton.
The food is so tasty! Make sure to try their breakfast menu too!
Friendly helpful staff no matter how busy.

Food and service was great for me and my husband, but really disappointed that my 3 year old was served a spicy macaroni cheese... Complete with green chilli!

Decent if you want a burger and fries. I had an Oreo Milkshake, might as well have ordered milk, apparently they forgot the Oreo. Bills is Better

Had a very nice meal. The staff where rushed off there feet as really busy. But still kept things moving on nicely. Will be back & highly recommended
J. C.
Very busy, good atmosphere but service was slow and order was wrong. Perhaps give it a few more months before going again. Also, for those not familiar with smoked meat, a little pre-ordering explainer would go a long way.
A. F.
Epic food but if you want a milk shake then skip the fries! So filling! Good vibe. Good food. Good service. Good US style food experience.
D. Q.
The food was great but the service was poor, if you want a second drink it takes a while to come. Ive been there 4 times and they had ran out of wings on 2 occasions, one of them being Super Bowl Sunday.
G. H.
Customer service was great, food was really tasty and reasonably priced

Just had a lush takeaway. Cheese burger, hickory burger and chips. Plus a very helpful member of staff, Lewis, on the phone.

Food was very tasty however it was quite disappointing to spend £12.50 on a burger and get no sides - just an average sized burger on its own looking sad.

Visited on 22/12. Great food, quick service, the weekday lunch time deal is good value.
S. K.
Basic burger for £10 not even served with chips
D. W.
Food is outstanding here! Had the Brisket and Short Rib!! Highly recommended before the cinema or a night out as you'll be full up for days!

An abeserloutly amazing place the staff are all freindly and kind atmosphere is great and freindly food is absolutely delicious could not get anywhere better fir burgers and french fries good choice of burgers and drinks it only takes about 30 mineuts to about 45 mineuts of a wait on waiting for food

Went for Christmas party we had to help staff giving out food no clearing of tables ie finished plates or glasses & even had to ask at least 4 times for napkins & cutlery staff are total waste of time then actually had the cheek to charge us 10% service charge won't go back don't recommend stay away!!!!
P. F.
Good food, service efficient though if you have to explain the menu maybe should be slightly modified to be clearer
R. c.
Burgers are amazing. Great service. Will definitely eat here again
K. W.
5 stars, delicious food, great service and nice atmosphere in restaurant
G. B.
Great food, really tasty. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for and my meal was delicious.
R. F.
Nice food had the carnivore platter although chicken was a little raw in the middle we were informed this occurs because it is smoked
G. H.
Very very expensive .....ok i suppose for this day and age ..chicken under cooked wrapped in crispy stuff with bun etc ...wouldn't go again ...staff lovely though
R. H.

D. M.
Great food and service now everytime i visit! Portion sizes are more than enough and the taste is incredible!
R. T.
Good service, hearty portions and tasty too. Handy for the cinema and shops or, in our case, a wander around the walls and the old town.
