They decorated the restaurant so beautiful, I think they are one of the best Indian restaurant I tried in Southampton. The food was so delicious and fresh. The rice cooked properly. They had a good customer service as well . We will back again

Celebrated my birthday last night with a gorgeous meal at Sanjha. 1st time visiting in like 4/5 years & will definitely be coming back more often. We had the Set Meal 2 on the menu. A few different starters & mains enjoying a nice range of dishes. Was just lovely. Every staff member we had interaction with was happy friendly & really good at their jobs. Recommendations given and dishes explained. Had a great night. Thank you Sanjha & all the staff. Had a wonderful birthday dinner. Had such a great night I didn't take one photo. My phone stayed in my bag the whole time. If I could give 6 stars I would!

We went to Sanjha on a Friday evening. And I have to say, the experience from start to finish was amazing. The gentleman at the door was lovely and we got seated straight away. The inside of the restaurant is lovely, well decorated and not too noisy. The food was really nice, and the quantities were perfect. The attention to details from the waitresses/waiters was quick and wonderful. Very friendly staff, gorgeous food and all that for a very acceptable price. We will definitely be back.

Food quality and service was excellent, well cooked, perfect balance of spices in all Asian dishes. Suitable for families. Hygiene was excellent as the toilets and tables were sanitized. It was bit expensive but worth it.

Nice place with nice atmosphere. Not busy but a few tables in. Service was a slow from the start and we were forgotten about a couple of times but we weren't in a rush. We ordered mild to moderate spiced dishes only as three of us were sharing. The spice of the food was very hot considering what we ordered, too hot. The flavour was fantastic though, great quality food and well cooked. It's a shame it was all so heavy with chilli. We did order raita to cool it down which was also very nice. I will eat here again for sure, but I will make sure we ask the chef to keep it all mild.

We visited this place and it was nice to be there. But in my opinion u Its Highly overrated place for indian Punjabi food. We ordered chicken Lahori and chicken was not marrinated at all. Vegetarian food was alright no complain. And when they gave me the bill they have added tip of 5 pounds. So I asked him is it must to give. So he was like our system generates it I told him reduce it to two pound and he told our system generates this only we cannot do.

We had the pleasure of having Sanjhas as our caterers in Bournemouth last month for our wedding reception. Amar from Sanjha's was outstanding in both organising and delivering fantastic service on the day for our 300 guests. Not to mention: the food-tasting he offered us and our family, assisting us patiently with multiple menu changes, co-coordinating with our venue representatives and their team and lastly, the fantastic value for money for sumptuous-tasting food. On the day, Amar and his team executed the catering outstandingly despite having to travel from Southampton and setting up a mobile kitchen next to the venue. Flawless indeed ! Would definitely recommend to work with and would refer to them for future family events .

We were working in town, originally tried two highly rated Indian restaurants on the high street, but both were fully booked. So we jumped in the car and drove to this one instead, it did not disappoint. Lovely, genuinely friendly staff, a great menu and ice cold lager. We’ve all worked together for 25 years, we’ve travelled all over the UK and been served up some really nasty curry slurry, but this place was great, maybe even in my top 5 of good Indian restaurants (and believe me, I’ve been to 100’s, probably 1000’s). I had the garlic chicken starter which was immense and then the Bengal chicken curry which was packed with flavour. The rice and side dishes, naan’s etc all decent too. Worked out at £30 a head, which is great value for what we ate and drank. I’ll definitely be back here again, great job guys 😎😍

I'm going to give this 3 stars based on the food but it falls short of 4 stars due to the service. The food was very flavoursome and spice level on just about right. Portions are a good size but unfortunately this was let down by the slow service. I will always account for when a restaurant is busy especially when there was a big group sitting behind us. However, the fact I had to ask 4 times for water and it took over 20 mins to arrive is inexcusable. Our waiter was a personable fella but he seemed more content with serving the two females next to us and seemed to bring their food and drinks out first. He also seemed forgetful which again, I know happens if you are busy but then write down the order. On the whole, a nice place but I wouldn't visit it again which is a shame as the food was lovely.

This was incredible. Hands down the best, most authentic Indian I've had in Southampton. It was a little on the spicy side only in the authentic way but if you can't handle any, make it clear to the friendly staff. Already told my partner this is where we are going for my birthday. Yum!

Surprise 16th Birthday party for my daughter's. The setting was perfect as we where able to put a personal touch to our setting, so up went the banners and pictures. Amarjot has the most brillant and attentative Team. Very friendly. We had set menu, choice of food just right, especially as we had some vegetarians in the mix. Good selection of Drinks from alcoholic to Mocktails. I know my Prosecco and this Italian brand was perfect on my tastebuds. 👌

Visited this place post lockdown 2.0. Sat outside on a nice sunny day. Food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Madras which was very spicy and the gent asked me if I would like some yoghurt to cool it down. I would be lying if I said it helped. Very kind, considerate staff who didn't even need a notepad to take our order. Also they have a split the bill section which is great if you're going double Dutch.. Will certainly be going back.

Regularly get take away from here. Food is always tasty and most importantly consistent. The portions are generous for the price. Service is great as well considering it is a busy place. This is good to see as it means people like this place and you know you are getting fresh food. Once they forgot an item, when I phoned them to mention this they said they would give us a credit for next time and they did (I live in the new forest so a bit far to go and collect 1 item) Everyone makes mistakes so that is not an issue, I was very impressed on how it was handled. Personally I would recommend the Kebab Curry, my go to every time 🔥👌🏽

I really loved the place and ambience. The most amazing part of this restaurant is the taste of food as well as the service quality. The staff is really professional. We had a wide variety of food in the table for 8 for both vegetarian as well as non vegetarian. It's really difficult to make Indian food tasty with an exact portion of spices but I am glad to see that this restaurant made it so perfect even in UK. I have come to Southampton few days back from Sheffield. And I would just say that I have never had such Indian food in Sheffield. So yeah. I am gonna come back to this place again.

Food is very good, a varied and interesting menu. However, portions are on the small side, and the prices are fearfully expensive. Southampton has no shortage of high quality Indian restaurants and takeaways, and many of them represent much better value for money than this. There's no good reason to pay 50% more than you would elsewhere. I had a 15% off voucher that they did not honour. So I would only return here as an occasional treat.

Food is authentic North Indian restaurant style... Taste was good but oil content (dum briyani) and sweetness (gulam jamun) of certain dishes were too overpowering making it bit unhealthy... I really like your lunch combos mainly bathori and channa... The variety of dishes in the non veg thali could be bit altered to make it better (both gravies were having a tinge of sweetness to it... The ambience and the utensils used were very authentic and beautiful....

This restaurant never disappoints and delivers the finest quality eat-in and take-away food I have ever had from an Indian restaurant. The food is very well priced, with large quantities that can often be a bit of a struggle to finish. You do finish though, because the last remaining mouthfuls on the plate are too tempting to leave behind. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the love of their work even shows through when ordering their take-away - either direct or from Just Eat. As someone who hated restaurant cooked Indian food previously, I can honestly say I have not yet had a meal there I didn't enjoy. Very, very impressed.

In middle of eating, when we called him to repeat order for naan, he kept us on waiting again and went to get order of new guests who just came. Again a wait of 15 min just for ordering naan.

Sanjha is our favourite restaurant in Shirley! They always seem able to find us a table even if we haven't booked. The food quality and presentation is fantastic. We can recommend the king prawn masala (madras hot) and lamb tikka especially. Their service standards are second to none, with friendly, welcoming staff and management. Highly recommended.

The food here is very good. We came from London to take our children to the Isle Of Wight and were recommended this restaurant. We did not book and it seemed very busy however the owner managed to accommodate and get us a table. After ordering a few vegetarian dishes the indian waitress politely told us that as of the bank holiday rush the kitchen would not be able to manage running orders and to order what we would have in bulk otherwise we may be waiting longer for items, which is how most restaurants work. I noticed that other tables were notified of this but began to start shouting at the staff and causing a scene of wanting to order a dish at a time as they eat - dhaba style as they do in India. The owner who sat us came and tried to calm the situation to then come round and apologise to each remaining table which is admirable. Having worked in the service industry I know that there are just some customers who will always find faults even in the best service. Hoping Sanjha can ignore it and stay on top as the food is delicious and we would love to come again. Have heard the Indian Cricket Team also love the food! Keep it up!!

Very nice food, but waiting times are long on busy days (Friday - Sunday). On non busy days although you get a table quicker, the food takes the same amount of time to arrive because there are less staff. The food tastes authentic, but it is oily, like most restaurants.

Always a good meal and food to die for. I don't get to visit that much these days but when I do, the food is so flavoursome that even typing this my tastebuds are going wild. Its always a good night out, the service is good and you are left to enjoy the experience and evening with friends without being pestered to eat up so that they can get the next customer in. Booking is highly recommended here by the way. they have a nice sized restaurant to keep the personal feel to the service but its popular as you would expect.

Not being a local is always a risk when choosing a restaurant. We however certainly choose a great one. I’ve been in a lot of Indian restaurants over the years and I was certainly impressed with this place. It’s quirky, authentic and very atmospheric. The food was superb and delicious. The prices very reasonable as well. Shame this place is too far for me to visit again anytime soon but I highly recommend it and wish it all the success. The menu was very informative about the origins of the dishes and this was bettered even more by the friendly staff.

We had the stuffed bullet chilli, aloo tikki with channa and salmon tikka for starters. All delicious. Then the best chicken jalfrezy ever - hot and spicy and beautifully cooked. Personally I think this is the best restaurant in Southampton. Have been many times and have never disappointed been. A lovely atmosphere and the food is always good with friendly, but not intrusive service. They offer the old favourites such as Kurma, madras and vindaloo but also have some fantastic traditional and lesser known dishes which are simply a delight. In fairness there are better places for delivery and I wouldn't order home delivery again, somehow it doesn't taste as good and isn't the quickest, even just up the road. However as a place to go out and eat I don't think Sanjha can't be beaten in the city.

I've had takeaway and eaten in for years and love this place. Highly recommended. The rahara gosht is delicious if you like things on the spicy side or the sag wala meat is a little less spicy. Absolutely amazing food and service I come here twice a week and have a specific requirement to what I want as I work out in the gym etc. I just have to park up outside and the food is being prepared straight away as they know what i want. I also come here for my takeaways for my family and I every weekend. The food is always consistent. They have also fully organised the catering for my daughter's 18th birthday party from start to finish for around 180 people. Everything was spot on and all our guest's from near and far thourouly enjoyed the food soo much so that Amar the owner and his team received more orders, not only in Soton but as far North as Derby where you would think there would be ample caterers in the local vicinity. One of the most amazing Indian restaurants I've ever been to. The ambience is so authentic. Food is full of robust Indian flavours that explode in your mouth. The tandoori chicken , butter chicken and dhabbewali dal are total winners.
