It’s beyond good! Came here for a quick breakfast and then lunch because the food turned out to be literally perfect! I had to return the next day too! Haha the wait is quite short, the service very friendly but the food!!! OMG! I love it!

First time we have been here. Loved it. Staff friendly, fun and helpful. Allowed my teen to bring his bike in as long as was out of the way, which meant he was able to join us for a meal. As it became darker candles were lit which added to the atmosphere. Food was fantastic, decent sized portions, very tasty and they provided a doggy box to take home what was left. Burgers topped the way you want so didn't have to remove the bits you don't like! Well cooked. The salad was well put together and had plenty of filling, not relying on a whole lettuce to bulk it up. Can order from the bar or direct from the table via the app which was straight forward. Priced fairly for the quality of the food and the staff? Staff checked everything was OK but weren't constantly hovering. Definitely would recommend and definitely going to go back.

Went to Santo's for brunch... The food was great, ambience cosy and friendly staff... My favourite was hash browns, onion rings, scrambled eggs and great filter coffee... Kids had access to colouring books (which was taken advantage of some of their parents too 🤗)... Dear Santo's you have got yourself another regular customer today! Will surely visit often 😊

The staff here are super friendly. I'm quite a regular now because the atmosphere is so brilliant and you feel so at home even though your not! My most common choice is a vanilla latte and it is great value for money. To be served by friendly faces and greetings is amazing too. Would highly recommend this place!!

Nice little place to stop and have coffee and cake, or cocktail and burger for lunch. We had a virgin mango colada, it was nice, served quick and staff were all friendly. A few tables outside to enjoy the sun, and plenty of seating inside, where it feels nice and cosy.

Having moved out of Shirley several years ago I was delighted to see that Santo Lounge, one of my favourite haunts from my Southampton days, is still going strong, and is still absolutely wonderful! A lovely place to grab brunch, a cuppa, or some awesome tapas, and their GF menu is great too! The staff are fab and look after you super well.

Very good selection of food however they don't take reservations. This was important for us as a friend with us who is disabled, needs space for their wheelchair and to move in the restaurant and so a table in the middle of the restaurant would not be as convenient as one on the side.

Great place to eat. The chain also has Trago Lounge in portswood and Maritimo Lounge in Ocean Village. All are good, Ocean Village is my favourite as it is over looking the marina. This venue however has very peculiar people to watch out the window. Great place to people watch 🤣

My hubby and I come here often and every time the service and food is fantastic! The vegan menu is what we eat by and we never get bored by the delicious dishes they serve. I have visited many 'Lounge' venues and this one compares relatively well. From the standard eclectic decor to the usual items being on the menu. There was no disappointment apart from the lack of any COVID measures whatever. No staff or patrons were wearing masks, no hand sanitiser was available anywhere, tables were not being wiped down between diners, etc.

At first there was no seating available which made us feel it was a good sign, popular place means people enjoy it. However when we got back as it was less busy we found it was very impersonal. The welcome wasn't great. They didn't explain the ordering system clearly. Just asked us if we had food allergies. It's only after waiting a while that we saw the QR code on the table and you need to place your own order via mobile phone. We ordered drinks and side order of food. We had already finished our side order by the time the drinks came. Really not impressed. Choice of drinks however was good and choice of foods too.

I give it three to be neutral...I suppose to some the sit yourself after you are greeted and then no one comes to your table could be appealing. Perhaps we did not hear the greeter's instructions over the loud music to do everything on your mobile at the table. After about 10 minutes of waiting we were about to walk then we saw the order here ,pay, here small card on the table. We ordered a beer and soft drink with a basket of chips to share. Oddly the chips came out before the drinks. Chips were very good. No napkins, drinks came out as we were finishing the chips. All in all it was an interesting place to try.

This restaurant is just fabulous. Not only is the food great, which it is. The care they show to their customers is above and beyond. My wife who is Gluten Intolerant and is sensitive indeed. She has never been sick after a visit or from a takeaway. If you have not been then sort out a date they are great

I came here for the first time on Sunday. We went at breakfast time and it was really busy, but the service was fast. We didn't wait too long to be seated and we were served in a timely manner. A friend and I went for a coffee last week. We filled out a form with our details which I agree with. Sat at a cleaned table. Ordered and paid for our drinks. They were brought to us. Very nice staff. We felt comfortable and relaxed. Definitely return.

The lounges are my favourite chain restaurant! Have come here many times but most recently with a group of 6. The covid situation was handled well and despite being a small area there was enough space to distance. There are just as many options for people with dietary requirements as there are for people without. There is a seperate gluten free and vegan menus available and they are very cautious as to not cross contaminate. The homemade drinks and cocktail menu are the best and I'd recommend trying them even if you just go in for a drink and not to eat. 👌

Nice atmosphere, but when we went today, 02/08/2020, I was told they were out of draft lager. Not even 10 mins after I bought a cider, the table next to us comes back with draft lagers. A bit rubbish not being honest. A bit pricey too.

The food coming out looked & smelt very good, generous helpings and well presented. Many different people in a very busy place, mums with their babies, having coffee & a chat, majority of people eating, pensioners having a coffee or a pint in our case. This place caters for so many different customers. Very good.

My husband and I love this place. We go at least once a week for coffee/ lunch and the food and drink is always great, as is the atmosphere. However, with the new covid guidelines, there are a few issues that management need to address. The main one being that if a table isn’t available, you’re asked to congregate at the door to wait which doesn’t make any sense as it’s a busy place and is often crowded with other people waiting. They need to implement a call/ buzzer system so you can leave the cafe and feel safe but also reassured that you won’t lose your place in the queue.

Popped in for a lunch. Doing vegan week this was the only restaurant that popped up on Google in Shirley when searching for 'vegan restaurant'. The menu is extensive with meat, veggie, vegan and gluten free options. Catering for all of us that had food. Even being particular to ask about intolerances and allergies. Very considerate. The service was quick and friendly. Generally a very warm feeling despite it being a very cold day! =)

It's a popular place so it's always busy.

The atmosphere here is nice - although absolutely packed on the weekend - and their breakfast items/sandwiches are probably the best in Shirley. For brunch, this is definitely the place to go - but personally I'd steer clear of it for any other meal. Their main meals often leave quite a lot to be desired - nothing in particular wrong with them, they just aren't the quality I'd expect from the price. We'll be coming back for breakfast - but for lunch or dinner I reccomend you walk a little further down the road to Overdraft taco restaurant.

Been coming since this opened years ago. Love the atmosphere, staff are always friendly and helpful.. Especially enjoy the fact they are welcoming to families with small children. Dog friendly too!.. Only downside is when you end up finally getting your food or hot drinks it's cold! My food was sat in the window of the kitchen once for 10mins after my friend received hers.. There could be improvements.. 🤔

'Hidden gem' is how I would describe the Lounge... It was a sunny day when I visited so perhaps that added to the very relaxed and friendly 'aura'. Only 'negative' observation was that by the time my food got to the table some of my peers had finished their meals. So perhaps not good for a huge group who would like to start and finish a lunch more or less together. Great place to be anyway... Good food, reasonable sized meals and definitely a place I would visit again.

There is a wide choice of food and drink at very competitive prices and they are dog friendly. An excellent place to spend time hugging a cup of coffee and watching the world go by. While there is no parking structure there is (at time of writing) free parking on the road nearby.

Certainly unique in the realms of Shirley, and a welcome addition to the options available. Always busy, can get a bit noisy. The food is generally great, and the drink choices pretty good. More people the louder the music also not good who likes being shouted at in a conversation?. Visited Santo for breakfast this morning - the measures in place for covid safety seem to be pretty excellent. The ordering system using the QR code on the tables is simple and easy to use. This morning my son spilt his babycinno all down himself - the staff were very attentive and quick to offer cold water, cloths & made him a fresh one free of charge. We were very grateful for the teams efforts and thankfully my son wasn’t burnt, just upset that he’d lost his drink! We would recommend Santo for a visit.

This is a great place to go with the family. The food is great and the staff are nice. They have games everywhere for the children or familys to play while waiting. On Sundays they do quiz night where they get you to come in teams and put some money in a pot and whoever answer the most questions correctly wins. Overall it's a great place to relax with the family.

I've had a hit and miss experience here. Usually the bar staff are welcoming and friendly. I have however had some negative experience here as well. As an example I was told that I could not change more than one item on my breakfast because the chef wouldn't allow it. This wasn't a question of cost of individual item as I wanted to swap items of the same or lower cost, it just came across as snobbish.

Santo lounge have done their absolute best to make sure that customers are safe. At the door you can sanitise your hands and there's a booklet to write your details just in case contact tracing needs to be done. Unfortunately, I noticed one customer taking the pen away from the area where you need to santise your hands and leave your details. They took the pen and the leaflet to their table. This caused some confusion for the next two customers who entered the premises as there was no pen to write their details for contact tracing at the door. None the less, the customer went to the bar to ask for a pen (which she got). This customer then took the whole booklet with her to her table, meanwhile another couple entered the premises and there was no booklet for contact tracing or pen. They just went straight to their table without leaving their details at the door. This would make it hard to contact them if contact tracing needed to be done. Santo lounge could make sure that customers don't remove the booklet or pen from the entrance and also encourage customers to ask for these items if they find them not to be at the entrance.

Noisy. Bad acoustics. It's a diner for families. There were 2 kids crying and screaming. Conversations from nearby tables were loud to compensate for the loud music. The chili was not so good, I couldn't finish it. The affogato wasn't bad. The bartender was friendly though. The chairs weren't to comfortable and seem a bit old and wonky.

Santo Lounge is a real home from home, on a great little corner site in the heart of Shirley High Street. A few tables outside the front and lovely big full width windows that opens right out, so they’re the perfect place for watching the world go by. Serving a fantastic range of food and drinks (including full kids, gluten free and vegan menus) in a really relaxed, welcoming, light and airy space. Interiors aside, it’s the people that make a place, which is lucky as the people of Shirley are a delight.

What I don't understand is why would they even offer a take away option if they do not have the necessary requirement - as simple as take away boxes. Once they gave my food in a huge carton, what looked like a produce delivery box, rhat I had to carry back home. I could barely see what was before me while walking back! Then they gave coffee in cups with no lids as they had none!! They sent back wrong orders 2wice! Once they put poached eggs, fries and hashbrown all in one brown bag! So yoy can only imagine what happened to the egg. They didn't even have a box. Sigh. Their food is excellent but it's a shame our take away experience has been so so horrible.
