A welcoming reception. The pub has been refurbished since the last visit, but that was a very long time ago when I worked locally and it made a good place for a Friday afternoon pint. Met some friends for dinner and a catch up. The food was extremely good (sausages and mash), tasty and just the right temperature, so no complaints whatsoever. Price wise it is good value for the quality of food, a bit more expensive than some, but cheaper than others! Will definitely be back.

I only wanted a cup of tea. I walked in at 11:30, but found that they don't open until midday. The staff were having a tea break, but the landlady got up and made me a pot of tea anyway! So kind. The pub is a beautiful old building and has a lovely pub garden.

We came across this pub in March coming back from a visit to the Beaulieu motor museum. It was so good that we have been back every time we go to pick up /return my son from Southampton Uni. The staff are so friendly they make you feel special. It's a must visit place.

The beef Sunday roasts we had were fantastic and very well cooked. We wanted the two course option but there was no vegan option for the desserts. We aren't eco warriors but my Fiancee has a genuine intolerance to egg and too much dairy. The lack of vegan choice to suit different needs was disappointing and people shouldn't have to pay extra for the choice. Staff were polite but the young manager on shift, as Alison wasn't in, seemed quite ignorant to the fact people actually have an intolerance to certain foods.

Such a great place for an event. Recently went to a wedding reception and was couldn't believe how great the decor, food and service was. The only down fall was the drink prices were a tad steep.

Friendly staff. Dropped in on a wedding reception to check everyone was in a happy place. Had a pint of Doombar - good taste / good chilled temperature. The wedding meal was in a marque with plenty of room and easy access to the inside bars. Much happiness.

Treated to lunch out and was very pleasantly surprised with the service the food and the establishment. The place was very clean (only gripe was the sticky table but this is probably down to the sanitizer they use). Server was a very pleasant young man who seemed a little nervous at first and when he was asked he did say he was new, he did a fantastic job and was very pleasant. Food was home cooked and it showed. Everything was really good. I have not had a chilli burger for years but the one I had here was a real treat for me as it brought back a lot of memories for me. Everyone one enjoyed their meal and the portions are more than generous. We will be back.

Popped out for impromptu Sunday lunch! Booked a table at The Ship as always had a lovely meal here. Ordered at the bar after been given the GF menu, at no point we’re we told there was no GF gravy with the roast, although the food was delicious when it arrived, the lack of gravy was a huge disappointment… we did mention it to the very helpful young man who served us, who did ask the kitchen … pity we weren’t told when ordering as wouldn’t have ordered a roast!! Despite that, great food, friendly service - please buy in some GF gravy granules…🙏no one likes a dry roast!! (Except strange folk)!! Thanks!

Super nice pub! All the meals I've had have tasted amazing and they come in super large portions so no matter how hungry you are, you will be filled up. The service is generally very fast even if there are a lot of people waiting for food. I have never seen any dirty cutlery or crockery which I can't say the same for other pubs. Also, there is lots of nice history about it.

Lovely little place tucked away in Redbridge. We had the Sunday roast which was very nice, one of the best I've had. We took the dog too, and the lovely waitress gave us a take out box for leftovers. So our dog could enjoy the meal at home. Differently worth a visit.

PubAbsolutely brilliant. We had a skittles night here, all the staff couldn't of been more helpful, it was a busy night and they were running from our bar to main bar, but we never waited long. The food was delicious all our dietary needs we're met, and there was certainly no complaints about portion sizes. If you want a old traditional proper pub The Ship is the place to go. The main menu is large and varied. Couldn't of wanted better

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!!! The pub alone is fab, food is fab and good value for money. The staff are amazing. There's a great quiz night too. Absolutely amazing marquee out the back for hire for weddings and other functions. Zoe the landlady is totally fabulous and cannot do enough for you. We had our wedding reception here and the customer service is second to none! I can't stop raving to everyone how great the ship is. If you're thinking of having a wedding reception here, don't think twice, you will have THE BEST day ever. Every single one of the staff are great too, I've never been to a pub where every member of staff are so good, there's usually always one that lets it down but not here!! Second time of visiting as we were in the area. Once again a very tasty meal of beetroot, brie & walnut Wellington with new potatoes & fresh vegetables. My husband chose the beef & ale pie which was massive but he really enjoyed it. The food is lovely and great value for money. We gad hired the skittle function room which is a suitable room for family events. Only trouble was if you wanted to pay by card you had to keep walking round to main bar!

This is a hidden gem in Millbrook. Apparently the original building dates back to 1587, and the current Landlady has tried to retain and restore as many original features as possible. The staff are always friendly and inviting. The food is always very high quality, and reasonably priced. Drinks are priced at about the average with most other pubs. I am a repeat customer with both my family and work colleagues. I highly recommend this great pub.

Came on a Saturday evening without booking, arriving at about 7pm. We ere staying at Holiday Inn Express and was only a few minutes drive away. It was very busy with most tables booked,but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Waited for around 20'min for a table and around the same for the food. The portions were huge and very tasty none of use could finish everything!

Such a huge and delicious range of food choices in a beautiful historic pub. We have used The Ship Inn on many occasions. Car parking can sometimes be an issue being in the area it is situated in. Don't let that out you off.

The Ship Inn is a hidden jem, located just off the A35 near the Redbridge roundabout and very close to Redbridge Station The Ship Inn is well worth a visit. A traditional old pub dating back over 200 years. Serving a traditional menu with huge portions the food here is fantastic. There is a wide range of beers wines and spirits available

I had the christmas menu. Starting with melba toast and duck pate ,I was given margarine, i asked for butter and was told that they don't have butter or use butter in the restaurant. I had new potatoes for part of my main course and they served me margarine again. I have never in my life gone to a restaurant or any eatery that doesn't serve butter. It was a great pub the service was perfect bar and waiting staff excellent. The fact of no butter would actually stop me from returning.its a shame really.
